Considering that is a sequel, it is difficult for the gamer to empathize with Abby. The story could be better, do that we have been waiting 5 years for a great story. Losing Joel at the begging is something that the gamer can't deal with and that's why we expect more from Ellie during the whole story.
    Graphics, BSO and the gameplay are great for PS4 pro and HR tv. I also expected more from the end, as having a face to face super deep conversation (Abby and Ellie) or to know more from Ellie's new life. I have been waiting 20 minutes for the final credits and we deserved a final scene.    … Expand

    I'm not gonna give it 10/10, because it's not the perfect game (I'm not sure if a perfect game will ever exist), but it's phenomenal. Here is my simple advice if you are wondering about buying this game: The only potentially bad thing you can experience from this game is some story choices you may not like. It's completely subjective. Personally, I loved it! Everything else (gameplay,I'm not gonna give it 10/10, because it's not the perfect game (I'm not sure if a perfect game will ever exist), but it's phenomenal.     Every single moment playing this game is tense, I came in with high expectations and wasn't disappointed. I'm constantly being surprised by the level of detail, the character development, the story, and its pure beauty. Its tense, tragic, beautify, and mesmerizing. I love this world so much. I can't wait to play it again.

I was in love with The Last Of Us when it first came out and then after hearing about this I was astatic. The game had a great story and great area design/build. I also like the twist where we play as Abby, as it gives us the perspective of another character and can completely change the way we feel about the characters we have been playing to begin with. Although the ending may have been a bit sour to me, I still find the game overall amazing and an absolute must play for anyone who wants a good story telling game.… Expand

    a morte do joel acho totalmente justificável já que deu um peso maior pra quest de vingança da ellie. só achei brutal demais para o que eles entregaram no final. fora que a ellie não descobre a verdadeira razão por trás da vingança da abby.

    Acho que a mudança de personagem quebrou muito o clima do jogo. estava com 20hrs com a ellie e de repente o jogo mudou pra abby. foram mais 10hrs com a abby e achei muito grande esse segmento, apesar de ter vários combates legais. se desde o começo as personagens fossem intercaladas, seria mais legal.

    o final é meio interpretativo. por que ela parou? pela minha interpretação foi porque ela estava disposta a perdoar o joel e ela viu que podia perdoar a abby tb. única critica é que poderia ter mais emoção, como, por exemplo, um último abraço deles.

    o pessoal não gostou do final, mas, achei compreensivo. o jogo é sobre o ciclo da vingança e ódio. as duas perderam muita gente. a ellie perdeu o joel e o jesse. a abby perdeu, além do pai, todos os amigos. nora, owen e mel pra ellie e o manny e o outro cara lá pro tommy. a abby vingativa foi uma criação do joel e a ellie matadora foi uma criação da abby. se a ellie matasse a abby, o ciclo iria continuar. talvez o lev iria atrás da ellie. quebrando o ciclo, o diretor conseguiria passar melhor a mensagem que a vingança não vale nada e vc pode perder tudo nesse processo.    … Expand

    Don’t waste your money, if you love last of us part 1. Story is all about deaths and There are no meaning of deaths. I wish I couldn’t play this game. Director have told “part 2 subject is hate” It is not about hate because part 2 has a poor story. I did not enjoy. Bad story is for me. Good game, if you kill someone.

    The greatest game of 2020 (at the moment). The Last of Us: Part II is a game about anger, hate, vengeance, but, above all, forgiveness. As The Last of Us (2013) was, this game is a turning point in story driven games, and only can only hope that every game from now on will continue to have this much attention to detail and cinematographic moments.

    The story was a complete let down, with so much agenda pushed into the game that it becomes frustrating...a disrespect to the first game and to joel as a character.
    Gameplay is fun but does not outweight the negative side that was the butchering of a nice well built story from the first game.

    The gameplay of my life! Those annimations!! Graphics and detail to everything! Besides the crap that happened i got the message of the game. I remember when i play the last of us part 1 everybody sympathise the protagonists. Including me. But i knew joel was not stable at all.. Everyone is trying to suggest how the story should have been and how it should have ended but it isn't yours to tell. The world they live in is unforgiving and does not give chances to say goodbyes all the time and anyone could die at any moment, including the main characters which gives it the aspect of realism and logic to be honest. Even if I hated what happened to Joel, it still made sense that 25 years of his life after the outbreak was full of killings and murders that surely had to come back around somehow.

    As the story goes, I found it to be very sensible for me. Again, no one is safe in that world and every action will have its consequences and that's why I get it, especially when I was introduced to the full story and the different perspective of the tale and letting me understand why exactly what happened has happened. Even though my feelings changed from the first scenes and the last ones towards certain characters, I was satisfied all the way and I couldn't see a different ending that will make sense.

    But what was annoying for me a little bit is the pacing and going back and forth in the story which made me pay less attention to the order of the story.

    As for the game play, visuals & graphics, voice acting, motion capture, soundtracks, sound design, level design and the littlest of the details; all I can say that they are all 10/10 and really one of the best graphics and sounds I have ever seen and heard in a video game so far. Game play was so fun and intense at the same time especially the stealth.

    This game Absolutely kicks so much a**!!! not sure where all the hate is coming from unless you wanted part 2 to play it safe and just do another Joel/Elle cross the US again fighting infected. If you like the anti-hero. Shows like breaking bad, sopranos, Ozark. This is the video game version of those shows. Dayuuuuumn!! So good

    This game killed the franchise for me, the magic is gone. Nonsense plot and unbelievable characters.

    Thankfully the deceptive advertisements didn't fool me into buying the game.

    This game is utterly boring and monotonous when compared to Last of Us ‘part 1’. The entirety of the games is spent as follows: go to an area, fight 5-10 people/ zombies, solve a simple puzzle, rinse and repeat for nearly the entire game.

    It is SO boring, the plot does not carry the weight of the game like 1 did, and the open areas would be a cool concept... if there was anything you could loot other than cloth, blades and ammo... who cares. I can’t believe that if they were going to do something as bold and polarizing as killing Joel they would also fill the game with boring repetitive sequences. I love getting to know Ellie, I love her as a character, but there needs to be more to this game. It is too repetitive... too boring to be standalone. There is absolutely no room for a sequel.

    This game is missing the heart that one had, it’s sad because it was my favorite game... 1 left me feeling something that other video games/ movies did not... 2 left me feeling disappointed.    … Expand

    Graphics are great but that's it. The story is really odd and an no point did I ever get the warm/fuzzy immersion feeling like I did in the first game. My gf used to just sit there and watch me play the 1st game and this one she was totally not interested. Total flop and should never have been made.

Agora a história meu Deus que monte de bosta, 7 anos esperando pela sequência de uma obra prima e no final o resultado é decepcionante. Isso tudo é resultado da ganância desses caras que só ligam pro dinheiro, queriam tanto chamar a atenção que arruinaram tudo.

Joyle's death at the beginning of the game ... did they merge the character? Don't forget that the characters live in a dangerous world, as Tess said from the first part, " Luck can't last forever!» Forget the expression leaked character, this does not apply to TLoU2… You could have made a different story, you can, but the writers did this… This game can be put 9 out of 10, but because of the most biased ratings = 0 well, this....     Very bad story, gameplay is same as first game. Witcher 3 graphics is better than this one and that is over 5 years old. Tried to stay away from the leaks to form my own opinion and was surprised to see mine is same as many others. Will be staying away from this studios bait and switch schemes from now on.

Many People have dudge the game for the matter of Joel’s death at the dtart of the game, we saw that coming since tge Trailer reveal from 2016. It was more than obvious Joel was the one who was to die in Part II. We played as the both victims and there was actually never an Antagonist between them two. We played as Abby for the purpose to know why the actions she committed against Joel and it was because he killed Abby’s dad, who resulted to be the main doctor for Ellie’s surgery. She had the same option as Ellie had. Abby’s arc was good, but having to use her to fight Ellie’s was a let down specially when we know Ellie is the main protagonist and the one we should have been controlled. The graphics were absolutely fantastic, the cast, the game scenarios, the story was good, but it wasn’t great. My rating for the game is an 8/10.… Expand

So disappointed with The whole agenda along with Production and investors who believe this game will make money or rather kill hope of real gamers.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is perfect, people who thinks the game sucks are trash. I played it on Hard for the first time without aim lock and it is not hard at all if you actually use your kit and surroundings the right way.

    And story wise OMG sooo goood like what is people talking about? I HATED ABBY so much. I was mad that I had to play with her (like everyone else Im sure) but the more you play her, you get to love her. She went through so much worse than Ellie. Like dude: Joel kills her dad (who actually asked for it when he said “Im not gonna let you take her”), Abby gets revenge and kills Joel and lets Ellie live. Ellie doesn’t even know the real reason at this point and goes and kill everybody on Abbys friends list. She killed Owen! I don’t understand how that is not enough.

    I love Ellie and Joel, everything bad they did was for love but they are definitely the villains if you actually see it from Abbys perspective. Also keep in mind Joel killed Marlene, which I don’t think Ellie knows yet.

    People are mad because Ellie didn’t kill Abby at the end. Hello! Did you forget Abby spared Ellie twice? Now they are kinda even.

    I hope Ellie and Abby become friends in the end!    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Coming to terms with Joel's death, understating how truthful this universe is, I can't let my feelings for him blind me like Ellie did.

    This is a story about people, actions and consequences.
    Revenge and forgiveness are the cores of this game, and it delivers a strong message of how expensive the cost for vengeance is.
    Not only this, but also the fact that in the end nothing will change what happened in the past.

    So yes, with the proper distancing, I learned to admire this masterpiece.

    Sure, it would've been nice to see Joel dying later in the game? Yes

    It would've been nice to have Joel alive with Ellie? Yes

    But this game is a accurate view of how complex life is, and how hurtful, cruel, and savage humanity could get in extreme situations.


    No plot shield for protagonists, because this is not a game about a main character. It's about perspectives and the two sides of a conflict.

    A true narrative masterpiece of media. It absolutely rethinks the role of the player in video games. Complex and deep characters, and a bleak story that maybe won’t make you feel good, but it will make you feel a lot.

The story is unrealistic and seems unbelievable. Its understanderable what the maker of TLOU Neil Druckmann is going for but its unbelievable and thats the main problem of the last of us 2.     This is the most technically accurate game I have ever played in terms of mechanics. There are features in this game I have never experienced in any other game in my life, it feels so real. Critics love it because it is "unexpected" but fans of the original game hate it because it spoils and undermines all that was good about the first game. The developer cared more about "subverting expectations" than they did about creating a game that people will enjoy playing. The first game was heart wrenching, touching, depressing, empowering and unexpected all at the same time while still being enjoyable. I finished the game wanting nothing more than to find out more about what happened to Joel, Ellie, Tommy and the world. Then when I finished Last of Us 2 I was left feeling defeated and hoping that I could just forget I ever played it. Instead of showing us how Joel and Ellie's relationship developed and grew over they years, you get to sit by while Joel is murdered while Ellie is forced to watch. The developer tries so hard to make you look at things through someone else's eyes that you barely get to enjoy the characters that we came to see. At one point you are even required to play as the villain in a boss fight against the best character in the game. The game is not without its highlights. The graphics and detail are stunning.     The game looks absolutely gorgeous, one of the best looking games I've ever seen. Gameplay, even though it's not too different from the first one, it feels a lot more fluid and fun. The new kinds of enemies (both infected and non-infected) force you to keep moving and thinking about the best attack tactics at the same time. The infected feel and look even more terrifying than in the first one and the introduction of the new kinds was wonderfully done.

    Now, the thing that has been dividing the fandom is obviously the story alone. If I'm gonna be honest, when comparing this game to the original, I can't say it's better, because it isn't. The first one being one of the best story driven games I've ever played and this one being a great game but not the best ever. However, it isn't nowhere near as bad as some people like to say it is. The writers made some very bold decisions as to where the story goes and many didn't like that. My advice: try to keep an open mind during the entire game. This is, from the very beginning to the very end. Here's an important warning: the story may and probably will not go the way you want it to. No, the story is not badly written but it is bold. Expect to be shocked and even angry with characters' decisions and actions. That's the objective the writers of the game had when making it so you're expected to feel that way.

    Now to address another thing people can't shut up about. Are the characters unlikable? No, but I'd say they're not as memorable as the ones we met in the first game. Some characters you will not like until the end of the game and that's fine. The game doesn't want you to like them. It wants you to understand them and as long as you can do that, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

    This game is psychologically challenging and constantly tries to make you think about the consequences of revenge, the paths to redemption, the definition of right and wrong and your ability to say when enough is enough.

    Sad to say that the game was not good. Do not dismiss all the critical reviews to bigotry or simple bombing. The game has obvious flaws in the story it tries to tell and as a narratively driven game this is a big issue. By the end of the game you will most likely not care for any of the characters in it as they just come off bland and depressing as a DCU live action movie.

    The Last of Us Part 2 is my new favorite PS4 game and stacks up very close to Last of Us Part 1, the graphics are phenomenal, the story keeps you interested, the world is immersive, the acting is top notch, the gameplay is fun, the exploration is expanded. I highly recommend this game and it is a must play.

    The game can be described in one word-boring! It's beautiful, it's incredibly detailed, but it's very boring! When you play the second half, you want to turn it off! Abby's story is dull and idiotic. And the story that tells us the game is also banal and boring. This is not a masterpiece, this is a normal quality average game.

No questions how much we loved joel in the first part but great things eventually comes to an end this is not a superhero story and joel is not immortal this is a post-apocalyptic world which is cruel and survival is the only key. He was gonna die we saw that coming but the regret is we didnt get enough play time with joel's character to play as our favourite character for the last time. i didnt mind playing abby after she killed joel because it was a different experince and i was able to see the other side of the coin as abby's perspective after experiencing how her fathers death affected her and how this obsession of killing joel made an impact on her love life and she ended up being a brutal killer i understand her pain KINDA but i still hate her for killing joel so brutally this is all about a humans nature on an apocalyptic world. Now here are the thing i just didnt fully enjoy the third act that just happened out of nowhere but any how now we are playing as elllie so its not too bad also so now after seeing abby in such a harsh way i personally thought that ellie has taken enough from her and she suffered alot and killing her wasnt looking so ideal.
    All in all this was supposed to be a dark story and it is a really dark story it shows how vengeance can take everything from you and can effect people around you.
    But as a fan of joel i would have given this game a nine if NAUGHTY DOG had have given me an option to kill abby or leave her free.(then i would have her RIP JOEL)
    And i could have given it a ten if they had trim down some part of abby( I felt that ellie is being over shadowed by abby and this suppose to be ellie based story) and the third act didnt happened this way( It kinda feels weird and seemed happened out of nowhere)    … Expand

Story isn't anything special, dragged on for long periods of time, gameplay wasn't anything special, and the so-called twists in the plot where both predictable and typical. Not worth the $60 and any critic who gives it 10/10 is clearly doing it for Political reasons and not the actual game itself.

Considering the story, I cannot imagine a better ending and story than this, if we accept the early death of Joel. the storytelling made me realize feel each and every death that I did during the game. The way it made me feel that both Abby and Ellie are doing the same thing and losing everyone they love was so sad yet real and breathtaking. There is no game in the entire history in which you will fight that antagonist and change that character to the protagonist at the same time. I truly believe that Ellie didn't deserve this ending because she lost everything. But the thing that matters is that she chose to do this and that was the right thing to do. In conclusion, the story is top-notch yet sad and painful. But I really enjoyed it because it gave me something new that I had never experienced. Moreover, the whole story had consistency regardless of the pace. So, I can understand why everyone is hating this game, but everything inside it is authentic. Thank you Naughty Dog for this amazing Sequel.

    P.S: Many people are complaining about the repetitive gameplay that has not been enhanced from the first game. I completely disagree as I believe the main idea of the gameplay is the same but it generates an entirely new experience if you fully explore the world. For example, during the encounters when you are fighting WLF or Seraphites, There are at least 10 or 20 strategies to go through the level
    and you will be bored if you face the game with the strategies from the first game. There are lots of strategies and combat sequences that are unique and you have probably missed it because of your approach. For example, one of the best combat sequences was when you were under the trucks and headshot the enemies and they find you and there is a great animation in that combat. There are lots of these in the game, which will make the game a unique experience for every player.    … Expand

    I would say that the game fully continues the ideas of the first part, some turns of the game are really unpredictable, especially in the end of the Prologue ;)
    The game play is extremely involving.
    Finally, for sure, no other game didn't make such a big impact on me after finishing. At the same time, I understand why people put 0 - this game isn't something they were waiting for.

And what I got was an incredible experience that haunted me for days, and still has me thinking about it even a week later. Though it's not horror, it's one of the darkest games I've ever played. If the goal of Part II was to elicit emotion from the player, then it's a resounding success.

    Having looked at some other reviews now, it seems that that emotional discomfort really bothered people. Whereas for me, I was in awe that a game could make me feel this way. Naughty Dog could have easily given fans exactly what they wanted, a play-it-safe sequel where nobody we care about dies, and everyone lives happily ever after. But that's not how life works, especially in this ultraviolent world they've created. Without spoiling anything, Naughty Dog took a big risk with Part II and I couldn't be happier about it. There's simply no other AAA game that has done before what they accomplished. The story is immense, complex, and daring.

    The Last of Us Part II is revolutionary. Not only in its multi-sided story-telling, but also in its mechanics and meticulous attention to detail. Every moment in this game is screenshot-worthy, and the combat is more immersive than ever with enemies calling each other by name. It's such a simple idea to think about and yet it adds so much to each combat scenario. Shoot someone in the head and their friend might yell "NO, SKYLER!" The violence & gore is also just plain disturbing at times. Not since the original Soldier of Fortune have I been this shocked to go up to a dead body and witness the aftermath of my chaos.

    It's clear that an ungodly amount of work and talent went into every facet of this game, and when I finished it I struggled to "review" it in my mind. It was just SO MUCH to process. It took me days to finally decide what number rating to give it, but when I managed to put all the pieces together and look at the game for what it was (not what I expected it to be) I realized that the game was a masterpiece.

    Don't listen to the negativity of others. Play the game yourself and come to your own conclusions. In my mind, Part II is a must play title, every bit worthy as a sequel to one of the best Playstation games ever made, and my personal game of the year thus far.    … Expand
