    Like the first part Naughty Dog just squeezes everything out of the hardware of the Ps4. The graphics in this game are amazing and I have never seen so smoothe animations. I just think, that the game is very well programmed and that is not a standard anymore.
    Now to the story which seems to be the thing most people have a problem with:
    It is a simple revenge story, or so it seems from the beginning, but after Abby kills Joel you just really feel the sadness and the anger of Ellie, or so did I at least. And isn't that what a game should do? I caught myself often through the story crying, which I normally never do in games. This game just gave a rollercoaster of emotions. Also after arriving in Seattle I had a constant fear for Dinas life. ND showed me, that not every main character is protected because of his or her role in the story. And when you switch to Abby it just makes sense to explain her pain and her motivation why she killed Joel. And as the story goes on, it gets more complicated on the way. You go from a simple revenge story to a complex fight, about if all this violence is even necessary and that Ellie is basically blind because of the hate she feels for Abby and her friends. But then Ellies feelings turn as she kills Mel and her unborn child.
    The only thing I would criticize is that I really didn't enjoy playing Abby in the fight against Ellie. I mean I really get her after playing her for a long time in the game, but still I will always be on Ellies site, so I really didn't wanted to fight her.    … Expand

    an Absolutely amazing journey of revenge with gripping characters. Characters I have never seen be portrayed in video games before. The world, the mechanics, UI and cinematics were all smooth and beautiful. This game deserves more recognition as it is a masterpiece. 10/10

    Incredible story, interesting and engaging characters, made me jump out of my seat soooo many times. Honestly if you get to the end of the game and still dislike the game? You need to examine what your problem with female characters is, I've played 100s of male led games and didn't bat an eyelid. Get a grip like.

    This game is amazing. I haven't ever played anything like this. The part 2 was even better than the first Last of us game. I have been waiting for Assassin's Creed Valhalla so much but now I'm afraid that it doesn't feel anything after this game.

    I almost listened to the outrage and skipped The Last of Us Part II. Don’t skip it. It may be one of the best stories I’ve ever experienced in video gaming. This game is a masterpiece of storytelling.

    i would say ND really did incredible job for Part 2. The story very dark and i love how the storytelling twists the audience's feeling. The narration of the story really psychologically tortured to the main characters. i feel both ellie and abby's pain and glad how the game ended. gameplay, grafic and sound are one of the best i ever experienced so far. well done!!

I guess part of the hate comes because people do not like those feelings, but I guess that is what happens in a post-apocalyptic world when you set on a quest for revenge. Just go back playing simple story games if you are not able to understand the character's complexity and the multi facet of this realistic world. Like the first game, it's a story of violence, brutality and good people doing bad things. With people doing bad things, comes anger and hate but then remorse/guilt and ultimately redemption. How Naughty Dog uses their post apocalyptic world to massively amplify these emotions into a story filled with the best motion capture and acting I've seen in a game today, is just incredible.

This shouldn't overshadow the absolutely beautiful game and immersive story line! All the emotions you go through playing the game is exactly what Naughty Dog are trying to achieve.     Juegazo 100%. Es un juego muy duro porque al poco tiempo de juego ya pasa lo que pasa, pero eso no quita que todo lo demás sea un juego de 10. Hay algunas partes que son un poco pastelosas y romanticonas pero da igual, todo lo demás es increíble

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It's a bit of a shame that you don't get to play as Joel for more than a few minutes. Joel is one of my favourite game characters of all time and it was heart breaking to see him die in part II.
    At the time of that event happening in the game i was so sad and upset at the same time. It really made me hate Abby to bits and I couldn't wait for Ellie to get her revenge.

    Halfway through the game you suddenly get to play as Abby which was so annoying at the time. However, as time progressed in the game and more events happened I actually began to understand where she was coming from. By the end I kinda liked her.
    Abby actually has some pretty epic moments in the game. Especially when she goes down in the basement of the hospital where it all started. That was seriously a crazy, dark and claustrophobic place where you take on the rat king. It was so epic to use the flamethrower here - truly an unforgettable experience.

    Ellie has her moments as well. She also gets some pretty wicked weapons such as the exploding arrows and trip mines. These weapons will rip people apart and it just looks absolutely mind blowing to watch. I can't remember a game that handles explosions so well.

    I would have liked to see more of Santa Barbara since you are not there for long. I really liked the environment and the way the Rattlers were keeping infected on chains. It was really fun to release these infected and watch them chase the Rattlers down.

    The story is not as good as in the first game but I do think the gameplay and mechanics are so much better. You can even go prone now! The game certainly feels way longer than the first one which is expected since there is currently no multiplayer available as there was in the first game. This game is one of those games that you HAVE to play. It sets new standards for sure.    … Expand

    A masterpiece on all levels. Period!

    All the 0 points reviews from the release day should be deleted. Especially when they mention the "bad" ending, which they couldn't knew about, since you need 25-30 hours to get to it. Afaik the leaked ending wasn't the true ending of the game and without any context to any of the leaked material you can't judge about it.

    Great game. Shocking and brutal combat. Took me places few other games have. Different story archetype than the first game. Stands on it's own. Wonderful graphics and visuals, great combat system.

The parallels in this game and the attention to detail in this story are absolutely amazing! People have such closed minds and wanted it to be exactly like the first. Also Joel died in a game about "Survival"...... Shocker. Also Abby is an amazing character and if you feel otherwise then you never played through the remainder of the game… Expand

    I love the game how it is. I dont know why people behave like it is their own game. Naughty Dog made their version based on the world and environment. Of course I maybe would like another path of the story, but people have to accept what Naughty Dog did.

It is pretty ridiculous that so many bad reviews are being given because of Joel’s death, even though he was quite a controversial character himself and, come on, that’s 20+ years of a post-apocalyptic world were vengeance is the norm.
    Concluding this story in such a bitter way, but yet seeing Ellie and Abby finally breaking the cycle of vengeance... that’s superb storytelling!    … Expand

    I finished The Last of Us part II exactly 4 times and never once got bored. The game is seriously a masterpiece. Everyone says that the game is terrible, the story is awful, but I can say whoever says what is the best game ever. The game definitely deserves ten points. And I definitely recommend everyone to play.

    This is a beautiful, brutal, unforgettable and heartbreaking game that every ps4 gamer needs to play. It forces you to take a hard look of the psychological and physical repercussions of violence... something that is usually just brushed off in games. Well done Naughty Dog.

    If someone just said this is a bad game, its fine. This game just bring a whole new level how a game story can be. ND really out a BIG risk in here. And at some point, they really succesed aproach such a weird emotional motive. But some people just cant take it and i can understand it.

Yo entiendo por qué hay gente a la que no le gusto, no a todos nos va a gustar lo mismo y es una fórmula bastante arriesgada contar una historia tan realista, devastadora y que no pasa lo que todos hubieran querido que pase. Pero muchas malas criticas no es simplemente que no les haya gustado, si no que tiran mierda al juego por qué parece que les gusta criticar nomás. Se quejan de la.muerte de Joel ( cosa súper necesaria ya que es el detonante de la historia), de que ellie no es la nena del principio y que su personalidad cambio ( cosa que es obvio por qué ellie no tiene 14 y perdió a una persona importante para ella con la cual estaba enojada y justo cuando lo iba a perdonar se lo arrebatan) y después de manejar a Abby (cosa que está muy bien hecho para entender este mundo del the last) . El juego es perfecto y no habría que cambiarle nada. Y si habría que cambiar algo son LOS DESARROLLADORES QUIENES ELIGEN ESTO POR QUE ELLOS SON LOS DUEÑOS DE LOS PERSONAJES. Nos dieron un juego que habla de lo psicológico, de como una persona se rompe, de como la venganza no lleva a nada. Y el final que todos dicen que hubiera terminado en la granja les digo que no era posible. Ellie quedó con un trauma post traumático , no podía ni comer ni dormir ni estar a obscuras. Y en el momento en que está por matar a Abby y ve el flashback de Joel y la suelta, muy criticado, para mí es una de las mejores partes. Por qué por fin puede perdonar a Joel. Yo creo que hay mucha gente que no entendió el juego, pero paren de tirar mierda. Yo mientras lo jugaba por primera vez lo jugaba asustado por tantas malas criticas que había y me hicieron sentir incómodo sin poder disfrutar de este juego como habría querido. There are much fewer monotonous "Go grab that ladder"-type scenarios. I've already played through the game twice and have watched while several of my friends play through it on my console, and each time I discover new details. The boss battles are much harder and more frustrating than the first one, but beating them is just that much sweeter.

Beautiful in this sense the scenes in which the guitar plays, vehicle through which he manages to find Joel (in particular with the beautiful Future Days of Pearl Jam which has a text that seems written for them 2).
