    emotionally difficult, beautiful graphics and design, really cool worldbuilding, incredibly fluid and visceral gameplay. Personally, I really liked the story, which I thought was surprising and interesting -- I couldn't decide what I wanted the characters to do, and was burning with adrenaline to see the choices they made -- but it's definitely way *messier* and less perfectly structureemotionally difficult, beautiful graphics and design, really cool worldbuilding, incredibly fluid and visceral gameplay. Personally, I really liked the story, which I thought was surprising and interesting -- I couldn't decide what I wanted the characters to do, and was burning with adrenaline to see the choices they made -- but it's definitely way *messier* and less perfectly structure than the first game. I think it's more interesting and compelling for those complications but I can see how other people would find it at times sloppy or overlong.
    Don't listen to the review bombing -- even if you don't end up liking the story, the gameplay, worldbuilding, modelling, and general design and polish is incredible impressive.
    I'd give it a 9.5/10 but I rounded up.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I love this game, don’t let anybody tell you otherwise! I liked that in the middle part it gave me the feeling that I hated it. But now 10 minutes after I finished it I am overwhelmed! Not only did they find an excellent way of portraying modern day equality but they did it in a way that wasn’t in your face. It was just there and wether you like it or not you have to deal with it. I liked it a lot. The gameplay, graphics and story are amazing and this truly is the best ps4 game!… Expand

    Its not perfect, I could have done without the target practice 15 hours in, its a little bit bloated at times. But what this game achieves on so many levels will be a point of comparison for all AAA games for years to come. What the narrative does with a simple revenge plot is incredible, and uses the medium of games in ways that no movie ever could.

    I ACTUALLY played the game, and im not much of a reviewer, but man was thus fame a rollercoaster of emotions. No game has made me cry so often as this. Gameplay was smooth and swift, the level design was beautifulky done s well as the ambiance. Story wise, did not expect how it went AT ALL. My biggest opinion on what i wouldved changed would be the organization if the flashbacks.     Ignore all the negative reviews. The game and storyline is epic! Twist and turns and completely engaging. Play the first game so you understand the characters. Foks that are upset by the story probably are thinking surface-level and not paying attention to all of the details and underlying character dilemmas throughout the game. LOVE LAST OF US! Cannot wait for the TV Series!

The story doesn't play out how I would have wanted it to go (I would have loved more time on the road with Joel and the older Ellie), but considering the direction the writers felt they needed to go, it's a very impressive and gut-wrenching story. I've never been affected emotionally by a game like I was by this one.

    Gameplay wise, it's nothing groundbreaking (save for the animations), but it's very fun and tense. And it's all wrapped up in superlative graphics and sound design.    … Expand

Congratulations to Naughty Dog for having the courage of creating something so different and evolvent, in a world ruled by clichés. It's amazing how a videogame could awake in me so many emotions in a playtrough, reaching to a conclusion that I wasn't expecting. An experience so complex and deep, that afterOne of the most emotional experiences that I ever had with a form of entertainment.     I have never felt so emotionally engaged in a game before, I highly recommend it, but need to have an open mind and let the story play out, instead of trying to fight it. Brilliant game!!

    Not a 10/10, I would say a 9/10. But since people are so dumb and immature to understand the story, I'll give it a 10/10. I loved the first game, got platinum on it. And the second one is just wonderful and poetic. It is sad to see what Ellie have become and what happened to Joel, but given the ending of the first game, it actually makes a lot of sense, but people are just too dumb toNot a 10/10, I would say a 9/10.     Its a very good game. It digs deeper than everyone understands. This game reveals human psichology and does that through the player himselft. Its really more than just a horror action game. And people who didnt understand that and gives a game a bad score. Well what can a I say its a pity.

    The only problem I can find with this game is that is so far ahead than anything else before it that some people are not ready for it. Of course the game will make you upset, that is the whole point, it's an analysis of hate and its consequences. If after finishing the game you still feel hateful then some part of the message was definitely lost on you.

Its more like 'two sides of the same coin'... Its getting a lot of hate because people can't accept a beloved character getting killed but when you see from Abby's perspective, what she did was not entirely wrong(I'm not saying its good either)... She wanted revenge because Joel denied a potential cure for the world... When we play as her you can see what kind of person she really is and I would dare as to say that she had more humanity than Ellie... Her character development was really good and it really made me feel emotional over all... What I'm trying to say is that don't trust blind reviews... Play the game and judge it yourself...

    This game, in my opinion, is nothing but spectacular. It has what I would say are the best graphics on any video game to date, the lightning is simply gorgeous and the colors really shine. The environments are extremely detailed and feel real, which adds to the game’s realism factor.

    Gameplay feels very fluid and responsive, combat is very satisfying and the controls are perfect, much like it’s predecessor. The game gives you all the tools to tackle every situation of danger how you prefer, which makes the outcome more rewarding as well as making the game your own playground to fiddle with. The best part about combat and stealth is that the game, as stated, gives you multiple ways to handle the same objective. That sense of freedom is extremely fun and creates creativity in how you explore your surroundings as well as being strategic with how you play. Looting and exploring never feels boring in this game and sometimes scavenging can create unique dialogues or interestering new scenarios. What I like about The Last of Us Part II is that two people can play this game and have a completely different experience depending on how the choose to play.

    Level design is nothing but amazing, each new area that you explore feels refreshing and you can notice how ambitious Naughty Dog is with creating areas that feel and look real. The level design combined with the amazing gameplay makes for a super enjoyable time that you never get tired of. The story is without a doubt the most hated part of the game. That is for the most part due to the leaks that got out a month before the game’s release. Some are not satsified with the way the plot was directed. or that they simply have a hard time caring for the game. Others struggled to really care for the characters or the enviroments due to the way the game was written, which I can understand. Personally however I can say that it is written in a sometimes messy way, but I still feel like the story is one of the best and more touching of video game history. This game was very emotional troughout the entirety of the game and it ended extremely sad. The game makes you feel, and care for Ellie and the people she loves. The ending really broke me emotionally. The story in my opinion was really great and it was so fun and interesting to follow the characters as they go trough an emotional joyride troughout the game’s story. Sometimes the games takes a minute or two to slow down and appricieate the environment or the situation, which I personally love. The Last of Us Part II is ambitious, bold, daring, emotional and powerful. Overall I think the story is great and powerful, and it really make you feel which a good story should.

    The reason I give this game a 10 is that it is utterly amazing at all aspects and the amount of fun that I had playing this game makes me even more excited to see what’s next for Naughty Dog. No matter what, I think that this is a project that Neil Druckmann and his team should be extremely proud of, and you can clearly see the ambition and dedication to put out this fantastic game in every corner of it.     There are a few criticisms I've seen that I want to address.
    Firstly there's the bigots who just dislike that this involves LGBTQ+ characters and their opinions can be immediately ignored.

    Secondly there's the people who dislike the story. To this I'd say each to their own, but I personally enjoy stories that challenge me. This won't be for everyone but by no means is it objectively bad. That's just ridiculous. Ignore anyone who says this. It takes some surprising and unusual routes, but the story to me was fantastic, challenging and original. I've never played a game that made me experience so much emotion, or stay with me in the same way. That said, that's my opinion, clearly a lot of people didn't experience the story the way I did. I think that's a shame because I found it truly astounding.

    Lastly I've seen some criticism of the scavenging gameplay. It's almost exactly the same as the first game, so if you didn't enjoy in that, expect to find it tedious in this. For me, it pulled me into the world and enabled me to truly explore the utterly stunning scenery.

    There's no denying the astonishing amount of work that went into this game. Regardless of opinions around the story, the environments, animations, textures, lighting and design are all the best that I've seen in our current generation. Please when considering this game, read the nuanced reviews, not the hate filled ones.    … Expand

    Not much to talk about, just a great game. The gameplay is something I've never seen before in any game, attention to detail and finishing are incredible too. And the story, although it has a unpredictable ending, is phenomenal.

    One of the greatest games I have ever played. This game takes the necessary risks to elevate it to the next level. For those wanting more of the same as far as story than this isn't for you. This is a complete vision coming to life and also pulling it off in my opinion. Give it a chance and keep an open mind, you owe it to yourself to do that much.

    There is no reason this game should receive less than a 7/10. I've been sitting on how I feel about this game for awhile. But I've finally reached a conclusion. Its a masterpiece. I did not see a single spoiler for the game and completely ignored watching any reviews until I beat the game becuase I did not want any form of outside influence to impact how I felt about it. I did not see a single spoiler for the game and completely ignored watching any reviews until I beat the game becuase I did not want any form of outside influence to impact how I felt about it. I wanted to completely have my own opinion. I hadn't realized how much hate the game is recieving until I started digging into what people thought about it. So let's break it down

    We will start with the story, because that's the part everyone hates. Fair argument. Our favorite character (Joel) goes out in a bad way. No one can dispute that. But how did that make you feel? Angry? Sad? Many of you clearly felt something, otherwise you wouldn't come on here and give the game a disrespectful 0/10. My point here is the whole reason behind that moment was to trigger us. Make us feel, like its superior predecessor did. I was so sad joel was dead, many people didn't focus on that. They focused on how much they hated how the writers killed off one of their favorite characters, and force us to play as his killer. I get it. Personally I didn't hate it, although I did let ellie kill me immediately when I went into that boss fight. I could break down every part of the story but for me at the end of it all I asked myself one question: how did it make me feel? The answer was it made me feel everything, anger, joy, and sadness and anything in between. Any story that can send me through an emotional roller coaster as this game did deserves a 10/10 for its story even if I did dislike parts of it. In my opinion, the problems I had with the story felt justified and I think the direction everything went was weaved together in a coherent way that made sense. I found myself comparing it to star wars episodes 7-9 and game of thrones season 8. At the end of those I was so utterly devastating at how it was all butchered. I didnt feel that way at the end of this. I felt satisfied and wanting more of this world. Also, the last song at the end of the credits was depressing and I loved it. I give the story a 10/10. I can see why people would rank it lower though, I do think we have to give credit to the fantastic voice acting from the entire cast. A 0/10 for this story seems a bit harsh to me. At least a 1/10 if you hated it that much. Now, onto the gameplay. Ill keep this short and sweet because I think its pretty clear the gameplay was top notch. Gunplay is great, upgrades could be better, and having to redo upgrades halfway through was a bit annoying but after I got used to it I enjoyed it. The prone addition shouldve been a part of this series all along and it was a welcomed addition. The gameplay was not hindered by anything though. AI is smart and genuinely would flank me at times. I can't imagine how enhanced they get on higher than the average difficulty I played at. It has some inherent annoyances but those did not distract me from enjoying it, and for that I give it a 10/10. I was always on my toes and the gameplay was backed up by an astounding audio design.

    The audio was superb, with my headphones on, the rain sounded as if I was actually experiencing a rain storm in my own house. Rain impacting different surfaces sounds different and everything is fantastically directional. Without listen mode you can effectively find enemies just by listening closely to different sounds around you. The audio was the only thing in this game that was completely flawless. 10/10 hands down. I could go on and on about this game but when it comes down to it, I just had a fantastic time. I break it down into 4 categories. Story, gameplay, audio, and graphics. Ill give the naysayers the benefit of the doubt and say I understand the reasons why many rated it a 0/10. Gameplay, audio, and graphics all get a 10/10. Me personally the game is overall 10/10. But for those of you who hated the story a 0/10 for story would bring our average down to a 7.5. Which brings me back to my tagline that, in my opinion, there is no reason this game should recieve less than a 7/10. If you disliked other parts of this game, by technicality you could bring that average score down, and thats okay. This is all just my uneducated opinion. We are all entitled to our opinions, i hate that many people did not enjoy this game as much as I did, but hey we are all human and we all have different likes/wants. Meanwhile I will be attempting another playthrough of the first one on grounded. I think we can all agree the first one was better.    … Expand

    Fantastic story and I loved how it gave me a mixture of emotions, which many games fail to achieve nowadays. I am on my third play through and I will play it more in the future I have no doubt. The negative reviews are unfair and a lot coming from people who just like to jump on the bandwagon or have not even played the game because of a certain one thing that happens.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The story and the visuals were absolutely amazing! I'm sick and tired of everything labeling the game as "Naughty Dog's Downfall" all because of Joel being killed by Abby.

    His death was going to come whether we'd like it to or not. He was a bad person, he did bad things. There were people coming after him and he knew that. That's why he already knew Abby had some sort of business with him.

    I'm tired of everyone just assuming because Joel is dead, this game is horrible. Characters we love die all the time. Maybe I just have a better understanding of why Joel was killed, or maybe it's because I've played Danganronpa before and I can understand a death that had a bunch of controversies and different opinions on whether that character should have died or not. Or maybe Danganronpa just taught me how to not be a little **** when a main character dies.

    There was character growth with Abby when Yara and Lev became apart of the story. She grew as a person and wanted to do nothing but protect those kids. She became like Joel in a way and I think that just really shows how she is as a person.

    Some people are complaining about how Ellie wouldn't do what she did, but that's the thing about grieving. It can change you as a person. I've lost my mother-in-law almost two years ago (July 10th) and I'm not the same person I was two years ago. She was like a mother to me, and believe me- I would never actually harm a person. I don't like the idea of killing, but if I were in Ellie shoes- I would absolutely go after my parent's killers. It would change me as a person and I know this.

    It really shows the true nature of grieving and the true nature of revenge. Nothing good can come out of revenge, and that was the message they were trying to place in the story.

    Also, Abby's "backstory" wasn't there for a literal backstory. It was there to try and show you what kind of person her father was before he was murdered by Joel. That's the only reason on why it was there. To show her process through grieving too and to show why Ellie and Abby were so similar but so different at the same time.

    The plot holes are there, I'd admit that- but I think they might have done that on purpose. There's already a discussion about making a part three, so maybe they left those questions unanswered so they're able to answer them later down the road. You never know- Naughty Dog might even post a DLC even though they said they wouldn't. They've done things they said they were going to do before.

    All I'm saying is you can't hate or love this game until you give it a try and actually play it. Naughty Dog literally stated you'll either love it or hate it and that there's no in between. So go ahead and just get the game and play through it yourself. Give yourself the chance to experience it and create your own opinion.    … Expand

If you gave this game the chance it deserved (which most negative reviewers definately did not, especially not the ones who somehow managed to put out a review on the same day the game was released, meaning they probably didnt play it at all), you will undoubtedly experience a brave, heartfelt and thoughful roller-coaster ride. The story coupled with good gameplay and amazing worldbuilding makes this one of the best games I've ever played. Spoiler alert, losing major characters is a tough experience. However when you look at the grand scheme of things, I think the game is a magnificent experience when analyzing grief, loss, rage, and the toxic nature of revenge. I don’t penalize or judge a game based on the sexuality, gender, racial or ethnic makeup of characters. I don’t glorify either if it has a diversity of them. I simply look at a game and try to assess, from beginning to end, it’s quality as an experience, a character study, and as a overall story. In terms of gameplay, Part 2 has made drastic improvements compared to its predecessor. While some of the mechanics are not perfect, they still serve to improve upon the previous entry. I will level with you: the story is incredibly grim and to be honest, I would need to take a break every hour or so because I felt that the game’s events are pretty jolting, especially during the Ellie portion. I know a lot of users don’t like the shift in the game from its first and second part in terms of who the protagonist is. I actually find that to be pretty innovative and I think through that section of the game you understand it’s over arching theme as well as the political and human environment you play in. I would definitely give this game a try and form your own opinion.… Expand

The Last Of Us Part 2 was an emotional game for me, that took me on one hell of a journey full of tragic events, and moments that made me feel a little reluctant and uneasy. The fact that the game is so divisive makes the game much more unique and better in my opinion. Naughty Dog took some really bold decisions when it came to the story, and I for one enjoyed those decisions, and never did I think that I would play a game so personal, or would end up loving a character that I despised at the start of a game. The character development of Abby was one of the best things about the game, and this is where the game either makes or breaks for people playing it. If you are able to understand the character of Abby, then you are going to love the game and the choices it makes. But if you keep the death of Joel in your head, and refuse to let go the idea of revenge, then you are not going to enjoy this game. I think that the quote ‘There are no heroes in the world of Last of Us’ perfectly describes this game for me. It’s all about perspective, and the way you interpret the story is what makes all the difference. Yes Joel was a beloved character, and yes his death was painful, but the game needed his death, and I don’t think, Naughty Dog could’ve come up with a better story to justify the sequel. The Last of Us Part 2 is different from its predecessor, and is much more divisive and makes a lot of questionable and bold decisions, and these decisions are what make the game so appealing and unique to me. The same reason might lead you to hate the game, and that is completely fine. Art is meant to evoke feelings out of you, and just like every other good piece of art, it is polarizing. This is what makes The Last of Us Part 2 a masterpiece in my eyes. Naughty Dog have really outdone themselves and created a game that is so powerful and emotional that the story will stay with you long after the credits roll. The Ps4 has seen many great games during its life cycle, but I think that The Last of Us Part 2 will be forever remembered as a Masterpiece that did not shy away from doing things differently.… Expand

    This game is a masterpiece. Sure it has an emotionally devastating plot that has fueled a lot of negative reviews, but that’s part of what makes the game so great. Overall it’s a more developed story than the first game with great additional characters and multiple perspectives. Gameplay 10/10 graphics 10/10 story 10/10

O Jogo eletrônico possibilita uma maior afinidade com o personagens pois controlamos os mesmos e é como se o jogador estivesse fazendo aquela ação e não o personagem da ficção que controlamos. E nenhum jogo me fez ter um peso tão grande nas ações e atitudes que o personagem por mim controlado no jogo executou e com isso a jogatina forçou as minhas emoções há um limite que nenhuma mídia de entreterimento tinha alcançado antes. Teve momentos que tive que dar uma pausa na jogatina para conseguir me manter e absorver os acontecimentos da história, devida a imersão e tamanho o impacto que jogo teve sobre os meus sentimentos. Parabéns a ND pela coragem em sair do mais do mesmo e trazer uma história fenomenal e carregada de emoções.
    Quanto a parte técnica do jogo, procurei vasculhar cada cantinho do jogo e explorar o máximo possível os ambientes, com isso tive uma jogatina de cerca de 40 horas, e durante a mesma não identifiquei um único Bug. Os gráficos estão impressionantes e as interpretações e representações dos personagens beiram a perfeição, incrível o que ND fez na parte técnica. A jogabilidade do jogo é extremamente fluída, simplismente impressionante a fluidez alcançada, muito disso pela IA dos NPCs e inimigos ser quase perfeita. Como conclusão, passou a ser o melhor jogo eletrônico que já joguei superando na minha humilde opinião o primeiro jogo.    … Expand

Gameplay is fun as hell and very upgraded from the first game which is one of the things I hear people complain about along with the story. Yes joel dies but his death was not in vain.     A unique gaming experience that will test both your brain and heart. It's definitely not for everyone but if you are a self reflecting , thinking type of person this game will give you a lot.
    It's not a perfect game, but it's deeply human and has a highly actual and commendable message.
    I myself haven't played anything close to this yet.

I have never experienced as many emotions in any medium, that this game called up while playing through it. Abby's story is a mirror image of Ellie's with Ellie's being significantly darker. The final scene of Ellie trying to play the song and is unable to is completely heartbreaking.… Expand

    Graficamente el juego es bello y creo que exprime totalmete la potencia en graficos al maximo de esta generación junto con Red read redemption 2 .La historia de este juego no es complicada de entender y no es tampoco algo para cultos pero esta bien lograda como lo sabe hacer Noughty Dog y Neil que no tiene competencia y se arriesgaron ya que ellos sabían que iba ver controversia y es algo que no se ve en ninguna otra plataforma así que no vengan con que ZELDA o Animal crossing BOBOS ! es como si compararan One Pice con Loney toons .

    This is a great game! Go into it and try to form your own opinion of this game. I was very upset and hated Abby when I first played this game, but by the end I had understood her perspective. It's a game that really makes you think.

The scene with Ellie and Joel in the museum was so well thought out, I almost forgot I was in a video game while playing it. TLOU2 was one big emotional rollercoaster pulling at your heart strings the whole way. I especially loved how it went into both sides of the story showing Abby’s perspective as well. It was great to be able to play as this buffed out MMA chick where her takedown was literally strangling out the infected breaking their necks, a character type that not many game’s have really tapped into. When it came to the theater boss fight with Ellie I was a mess because I cared for both characters and their struggles. Both of them felt their side was right but in the end everyone was just fighting against each other for no good reason in all of the chaos.     This game is very divisive to say the least. It either lands hard or doesn’t for you. I can only say it landed beyond any measure for me. Absolute master piece.

    Puedo decir que es un juego impresionante a base su guion y su sistema de juego solo que el doblaje al español latino no fue tan bueno la verdad tampoco fue tan bueno como su antecesor, puede que haya decepcionado un poco por los trailers engaños y sus agujeros pero no veo razón por el cual no darle un 10

    I registered here just to support the development team, you are really well done, this is a masterpiece, without exaggeration I can say that this game will become a cult like the Lords of the Rings in due time.

    I cannot comprehend any of the negativity about this game. It's a beautiful masterpiece. The gameplay is thrilling and story is a roller-coaster of emotion. I didn't want a sequel to the last of us because I thought it was bound to spoil a perfect thing. Now I can't wait for a 3rd game to round out the trilogy.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
