From a narrative point of view, The Last of Us Part II opts for some daring prejudices, either by its realistic temporal approach which allows to highlight the difficulty of crossing such a world, or the fact of proposing a scenario particularly divider whose orientation should generate some lively debates. It is however difficult not to salute the execution, largely due to a gallery of successful characters and whose credibility is ensured by meticulous work of characterization and deepening. Cutscenes, gameplay sequences, optional exchanges or even scattered notes and documents: Naughty Dog does not neglect any support to bring depth to its scenario and its protagonists. These biases can certainly cause a few lengths, but these last demonstrate their usefulness at time of being moved by the fate of a character: without such work upstream, it is not certain that The Last of Us Part II would have managed to hit the mark with his narrative proposal.… Expand

Eu acho q o game foi mais protagonizado pela Abby do q pela Elie é isso não é ruim esse game para mim teve a melhor história de todos os games , eles fugiram do clássico de nós somos heróis e temos q derrotar o vilão não , aqui é tudo por perspectiva do personagem , não acho a Abby vila mas também não a considero heroína ela só teve as motivações dela , ela matar o Joel fez nos vermos o quanto os personagens estão humanos porquê ela não matou ele por nada ela teve um motivo a vingança pela morte do pai e isso teve a motivação dá Eliete de ir atrás de todos os lobos até a Abby enfim história 10/10 todos estão humanos nenhum deles é perfeito eles só fazem as coisas para sobreviver e pela emoção . Algumas pessoas estão criticando o jogo dizendo q ele está muito feminista ou lacração , bom eu acho q essas pessoas são ignorantes , só porque as duas protagonista são Girpower ? Tanto a Abby quanto a Elie bota muito protagonista homem no chinelo , isso não faz o game ser lacração faz ele ser humano pois alguém com motivação pode fazer tudo tanto homem quanto mulher . Sobre a jogabilidade está bem semelhante ao primeiro game mas muito mais refinado ou seja está perfeito . It's a game that requires you to think and question the beliefs and assumptions you have coming into it. It's a story that takes a lot of risks. The game isn't perfect in every respect and has some jarring transitions in story and gameplay near the middle portion. You may not even "like" this game. It isn't "fun" the way some other games are. It filled me with a sickening sense of dread at the fate or actions of my favorite characters. There will be painful moments where you watch characters make decisions you don't agree with. But the game isn't made for you to like it or to be traditionally enjoyable. It isn't a game that cashed in on the latest trends or played it safe to reach the broadest audience. It's a game that was made to get a point across and make you think about what's important to you. And by the credits I had no doubt that it had accomplished that goal.     In addition to the improved mechanics and graphic evolution, the story makes you reflect on the consequences of the decisions you make throughout life. But it takes maturity to understand these issues.

This game was a pure masterpiece. 1)The graphics were insane, from the grass, to the water, and the clickers. 2) Gameplay, the action and combat system is a huge improvement since the first. 3) story. Yes Joel dies, and it's hard at first to play as a character that just killed a beloved person. However as the story goes on you get to see why. Joel kills her father to saveSpoilers ahead. It makes you think about violence, and the futility of that violence, to a greater degree than any game I have ever played. I've found myself thinking about the game a lot (and feeling slightly depressed - not that the game is over, but about the story of the game itself).

    A note about the negative reviews - look at how many people created profiles just to pan this game. How many of these are multiple reviews by the same troll? Also, how could they have played the entire game on 19 June, the date of many of the negative reviews AND the release date for the game.    … Expand

The Last of Us Part 2 is a brilliant follow up to the first game's themes of loss, grief and acceptance.     STORY:    Some games transcend genre, and "The Last of Us II" is one of those games. "Survival Horror/Survival Action" is not typically on my radar. I'm an RPG and sports game guy, but when a huge game like this comes along, I usually give it a shot. I played the first installment in this series on last gen, and I liked it a lot, but I don't remember liking it as much as "The Last of Us II".
    STORY:
    Somehow, Naughty Dog is able to go out of its way to be more "inclusive" than a junior college brochure without being obnoxious. I fell in love with all of the protagonists, and in the final analysis, the individuality and humanity of each character shone through enough to make me forget any intent of the writers to try to check all of the politically correct racial, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, etc boxes. That's quite an accomplishment in itself, and puts the focus of the story where it should be in my opinion: to make the audience identify with the characters, or at least feel what the characters feel. When that happens, the importance of group identity falls by the wayside, and the common humanity within all of us becomes the focus.
    GAMEPLAY:
    This game kept me always feeling like I was just a bit under-practiced and under-prepared for the combat I was facing, which I suppose is what the survival genre is supposed to feel like. The controls are intuitive, the game plays very smoothly with minimal glitches, and I always felt challenged and engaged.
    GRAPHICS/SOUND:
    I'm not much of a graphics snob, but in my humble opinion, this game is BEAUTIFUL. Again, minimal glitches. It's obvious that an incredible amount of care and attention to detail was put into the creation of this world. The score in this game is excellent: as I'm looking back on it, I "felt" it more than I noticed it, and that's a high compliment in my book. The choice of soundtrack and the performances of the songs were just right. A few memorable ones, some of them tear-jerkers.
    OVERALL THOUGHTS
    This game is not perfect. It's a video game. However, it's close enough to perfect that it might as well be. I can't imagine a much better product being made with current hardware. There are certain small gripes I have with this game that are mostly just part and parcel of the genre that this game belongs to. However, this game is more than just a survival game in the same way that "There Will Be Blood" is more than just a movie about an oil man.
    "The Last of Us II" made me enjoy doing some things I thought I wouldn't enjoy, appreciate some things I thought I'd cringe at, and feel some things I didn't expect a game could make me feel.
    If that doesn't sound appealing, then you probably shouldn't buy this game.
    How this game could have an average user score of 5.3 at the writing of this review is beyond me. Like I said, I'm not deep in the world of this genre or this IP, so maybe most fans of the original were expecting something completely different. Regardless of their expectations, to not have a healthy respect for the sheer quality of craftsmanship this game displays is puzzling to me.    … Expand

    I loved the first game, and couldn't wait for the second. Playing the first is definitely needed. I wasn't expecting it to be so long! I thought I was nearing the end when I realize I was only halfway through! It was shocking to me, and I was a little unhappy at first. But by the time my 33 hour adventure finished, I completely understood the decision. It was a key part of the game. AndI loved the first game, and couldn't wait for the second. Playing the first is definitely needed. I wasn't expecting it to be so long! I thought I was nearing the end when I realize I was only halfway through! It was shocking to me, and I was a little unhappy at first. But by the time my 33 hour adventure finished, I completely understood the decision. It was a key part of the game. And I really felt that the second to last chapter fulfilled the game's potential. It's a tale of revenge and the cycle of violence. It's incredibly well told, and will stick with me for the rest of my life.… Expand

    Since its clear most the negative reviews are from people that never played this game I am going to give this a 10 despite thinking it could be lower just to counteract the review bombing. This game had more reviews in the first 3 hours than the first game did in 7 years, so its quite clear that none of those reviewers have played the game and simply review bombing based on the leaks.

The story is dripping with moral ambiguity (something the gaming community has been crying out for for years) and is a chilling reflection on the realities of war. Whilst the gameplay remains similar to the first, the combat is brutal and visceral.     A **** masterpiece. Loved everything, the ending not so much but i understood the point of it. In the horrible world of the tlous no one is truly evil or good. I think the game did a good job of exploring that. The graphics, voice acting, gameplay, and writing were all amazing. Not going to say much more than that. BTW WOMEN CAN HAVE FKN MUSCLES FFS.

Tenía mis dudas tras tantas críticas negativas; sin embargo, cumple en todos los apartados: técnicamente es espectacular (lo cual no es sorpresa al tratarse de Naughty dog )y la jugabilidad es excelente, pero es la historia sin dudas lo más sobresaliente.

    La trama es madura y se olvida del    Acabo de terminar el juego y he de decir que me parece una obra que supera a la primera entrega. Tenía mis dudas tras tantas críticas negativas; sin embargo, cumple en todos los apartados: técnicamente es espectacular (lo cual no es sorpresa al tratarse de Naughty dog )y la jugabilidad es excelente, pero es la historia sin dudas lo más sobresaliente.

    La trama es madura y se olvida del típico tropo en los videojuegos de "los buenos contra los malos", los personajes están bien construidos y se desarrollan a lo largo de la aventura. Man hat zwar während des Spielens manchmal das Gefühl, dass manche Szenen etwas künstlich in die Länge gezogen wurden, allerdings mindert dies auf keinen Fall das Spielerlebnis. Die Story ist fantastisch und hat mich in den Bann gezogen.. Und wen es wirklich stört, dass z.B. Joel stirbt, der hat weder den 1. Teil verstanden, noch was für eine Art von Spiel das ist! In dem Spiel geht es nicht um eine schöne Charaktergeschichte mit Gefühlsduselei, sondern es dreht sich hier um einen Albtraum! Die Welt des Spiels ist nicht offen für Gefühle und Glück, sondern ist erbarmungslos und wenn wirklich jemand dachte, dass es glücklich weitergeht mit Joel und Ellie, hat das Konzept nicht verstanden!… Expand

    Simply one of the most beautiful and well-written games I have ever had the pleasure to play.
    The first one is still my favorite, just for the fact that at the time of playing I had no idea what was waiting for me in that game. But this is just Naughty Dog showing that they are masters at what they do. Thank you, Naughty Dog.

    Uma história incrível junto com uma jogabilidade aperfeiçoada em relação ao primeiro jogo que ficou impecável, o desenrolar da história ficou muito boa em relação ao que a naughty dog queria nos entregar, uma história de vingança mas se torna apenas mais dor e sofrimento. O jogo se desenrola como se fosse a vida real, sem draminhas clichês como alguém morrendo aos poucos com 300 balas no peito e se desculpando por tudo que fez no último momento, nesse jogo não tem nada dessas coisas não, é tudo direto ao ponto sem enrolar por coisas triviais e banais fora da realidade.
    Mas bom, não dá pra descrever o esse jogo em palavras o que você vai sentir apenas eu falando o que eu senti jogando, pois esse é um jogo 8 ou 80, ou seja ou você ama o jogo ou você odeia, então a única coisa que eu peço a você que tem interesse no jogo, compre e desfrute de cada momento, jogue o jogo com o seu lado humano, coloque-se no lugar da ellie e pense o que você sentiria ,o que você faria se estivesse na situação dela, mas pense com seu lado humano, não pense como um psicopata, alguém que não pensa nos outros na mesma situação que você, apenas... entenda os outros e o que eles sentem ou sentiram.

The soundtrack and voice performances are on par with the first game, which is to say they’re great. I've never experienced such a story that pulled your in every direction. The negativity about this game is appealing. If you don't like it, fine, but going after these people because of the story they crated (not you) is just childish. I hope there will be more to this story in the future and honestly want to see both Abby and Ellie's story.

    Without to much doubts, one of the most fun and thrilling games i have played. A very good sequel after the first game. In my opinion its a good thing to add crazy twists. This game is honestly something we didn’t want but that we needed , it does things that many games don’t even attempt because it gets reactions like this one had. Story wise , this is one of the finest stories and more impactful in either a Negative or Positive way, for me it was a positive one but it was not an immediate reaction , I wasn’t sure how I felt , I felt hopeless after the game , but the more I analyze it, the better it gets. My complaints are simple, unlike able characters , weak dialogue at times , and forced themes throughout with ideas that the story could work without them anyways. A lot of people see this as a bad thing , but I just think they weren’t necessarily needed for the story.     Now for people who haven't played the game or didn't see the ending yet then I warned you; Spoiler alert!!

    I heard many comments of people saying that the story of the game wasn't really great or even trash. Some people said that the game is trash either because of Joel's death or because of a bad ending or I even heard a few people saying that they don't like that game because of Ellie being lgbtq and stuff.
    I heard that some didn't even see the whole game and already don't like the game. Some even said not to buy the game...
    Now I don't mean to attack the people who don't like the story or the game itself but I think that it's actually kinda sad that so many people hate the game already because of the story. But like myself of course everyone has their own opinion and everyone has the right to share their own opinion to the game with others.
    The story is actually pretty intersting but also kinda sad because of stuff like Joel's death and Ellie being alone in the end. It's only realistic that people like Joel die one day because one way or another everyone dies one day. I can understand why Joel got killed, it's because he just had many enemies and the killed people to survive just like everyone else. And Abby in this case wanted to take revenge. After Joel's death Ellie wanted to take revenge on the people who killed Joel and that's completely understandable because I would probably do the same. I think that Ellie actually made the right decision to let Abby go in the end and if Ellie killed Abby then there's a possibility that Lev wants to take revenge on Ellie if he survived his injuries. In the world of the last of us it's really hard to trust someone because everyone has to fight to survive.
    It's just sad that Ellie was completely alone in the end especially to think that in the first part of the last of us she said that she was afraid to end up alone one day.

    The graphics of the game itself were perfect. It even had so many little beautiful details that made the game so realistic. It's just amazing.

    Stuff like the health bar or listen mode were actually a little better in the first game of the last of us. The health bar was better in the first game because it was easier to see how much health you have left and the listen mode was also better because you could see a little better which way your opponent was facing.

I love this game cause it was brave and it did things that could have gone awful, but it worked so ewell that now i even like Abby, my man's killer.

    I'm sure that almost everyone who disliked this game, didn't even played it, like, i get it, maybe some people didn't get to connect with abby, but c'mon, it's a good game and it can't fail so bad when it is that great.

I adored the first game, it was one of the first games I’d played outside of the platformer/racing genre and certainly the first survival horror – I hated zombies. But the first one just drew me in and made me love it, in large part due to the relationship between Joel and Ellie but mostly Ellie’s character, I just loved her. First of all, the graphics, the atmosphere, the immersiveness were 10/10 for me. I was on the edge of my seat so many times, heart racing, holding my breath, I yelled at my OH a few times for making noise in case the clickers heard me. The soundtrack, ramping up the volume as I got closer to combat, the noise when I could be seen by an enemy, the first whistle by the Seraphites - all just added to the fear, the panic and experience. I got so into it. The gameplay for me was a step up from the first one, it was cleaner, it was more imaginative – I enjoyed the new actions such as going prone and climbing ropes – blatantly lifted from Uncharted, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I did miss the controller sounds – both when shaking the flashlight and the clickers – the sound of the clickers through the controller in Pt1 put the fear of god in me like nothing else ever did. I went in blind to the story, I had no idea about what was going to happen. I knew opinions were divided, and I was nervous because I wanted to love it, I really did. I didn’t know who Dina was and it took me so long to like her. TBH Jesse barely registered, and maybe it says a lot about me but but I wasn't that fussed when he died. I couldn’t wait for the inevitable moment when I got to smash Abby’s head in. And then the split happened, and I hated it, I sped through her Day 1 as quickly as I could and I thought this is dragging and I knew that the bad reviews were right, and they’d ruined it and I was so annoyed, but I’d looked forward to it enough to continue going…and I fell for it hook line and sinker, I started to empathise with her, I felt like I understood her. I adored the parallels between the stories, and how her story explained part of Ellie’s – the zebra was her giraffe. The aquarium was her museum. Her relationship with Lev had echoes of Joel’s relationship with Ellie to me. The easter eggs were great – I yelled out loud when I found the Sic Parvis Magna ring in the bank. Don’t get me wrong – my loyalty will be forever with Joel and Ellie - the museum scene, and the guitar scenes, and the flashback at the end where they decide to try and rebuild their relationship ruined me and I’m tearing up even thinking about it – and if I had to choose it would be Ellie all day long. But I loved that my empathy with Abby’s character made me feel remorse for what I’d done as Ellie. Playing fetch with Alice broke my heart and I genuinely cried. I could take or leave Nora (definitely cheered when Ellie called her the C word), Owen (what a dick) and Mel (pregnant, but a **** and with issues around controlling her boyfriend) but the dogs really hurt ☹

    When it got to the theatre fight I was chanting to myself “please don’t make me kill Ellie” but equally at the end fight I was “please don’t make me kill Abby”. I get why people didn’t like it. Such a brutal decision so early on is so polarising and I can totally see why people didn’t warm to Abby – as Mel put it, she was a piece of **** But forcing me to realise the consequences of Ellie’s actions and that I was just repeating what she had gone through really got to me and I really wanted them to get to that “it’s not worth it” moment. And I was glad that they did and I got an incredible experience – it was enjoyable but it was also stressful and scary (I haven’t even mentioned the rat king!) and I loved every second of it because it wasn’t the typical a-to-z teenager gets revenge for her father story (of which there are many, clearly). Overall, hats off to ND for an emotionally challenging, thought provoking, ****-my-pants-at-times experience.    … Expand

When this game released I was disheartened to hear it was getting such negative reviews. I held off on buying the game until I had the first death spoiled by a livestream (I knew what I was getting into and had wanted to watch a bit, since I hadn't planned on buying it).

    In tears I immediately purchased the game. And what a game. The gameplay is the most smooth, character driven, seamless gameplay I have ever experienced. It is intuitive and immerses you in the story and world. This game puts you into a world of fight or flight, forcing you to pick sides and discover things you didn't know about yourself. The game forces you to walk in the shoes of two people who you love or hate. The game shows you their lives and let's you make your own decision about them. The game is so good at this, in fact, that it got negative reviews from a few leaks of the story before it was released.

    If you have been aprehensive about picking the game up as I was, I reccomend you dive in. You won't regret it.    … Expand

    This is why we need critics. It seems like an outdated thing to have, until a group of you morons decides to get butt hurt over decisions that the developers made (If it were up to you both games would likely have been awful). This was, in my opinion, a masterpiece and a brilliant next step in the Last of Us 2 saga. I can only hope that they do an equally amazing job on Last of Us 3.

    The Last of Us 2 is the best survival-horror game. The graphics and the atmosphere strike the imagination, different narrative moves and plot twists keep a player in suspense. It's not just a game, it's an experience, and I'm happy that I had a luck to play TLoU :)

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

    If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
