    Despite the negative reception (or should I say hostile?) from the community as a whole, as a gamer I always leave the final word of an experience after playing in person, and definitely with The Last of Us 2 it would be no different. I haven't finished the game yet (precisely because I like to enjoy it gradually) but I already understand the impact that was caused to me and the mark that will be left, not only on me but also in the world of games, taking into account that the first game is one of my favorites and one of the best I've ever experienced in my life, and against all false criticism and trolling reviews, I can say for certain that in relation to The Last of Us 2 it WILL NOT BE different. In the technical aspect, Naughty Dog managed to overcome itself again, reusing and improving the same mechanics of the first game, which by themselves were already considered incredible even after the remastering. Regarding the plot, I believe it is not surprising that the game takes a totally different direction compared to the first, since it was a love story, and that now it takes a revenge approach, and that approval or disapproval is essentially subjective, but no degree of dissatisfaction would justify so much hatred, prejudice and boycotting the merits of the game, which ironically will only contribute to The Last of Us 2 being a milestone in the history of games (for better or for worse). In protest of the bombing "reviews", I will personally hope that the game wins GOTY.… Expand

Cause a lot of them destroyed the game before play it , in consequence of LGBT content ( thats thing change absolutly nothing to the storie, if it was a straight love strory it will be totally the same. This game has superb storytelling, graphics, gameplay and a huge amount of graphic violence. This game keeps you hook throughout its 20+ hour run time. Characters dynamics and interactions are almost as good as the relationship between Ellie and Joel. This games character development even makes you love side characters and even people you shouldn't. The only thing I can think of as a downside is Abbys section of the campaign could have been a separate thing like Left behind was in the first game as it took away from Ellie's story a wee bit even though that section was still fantastic. Last Of Us part 2 is a Worthy follow up to the amazing The Last Of Us.… Expand

    Good plot. I assume they involve karma in this game based on the previous one. I enjoy the storyline, how the character develop, and i hope part iii will be better. Recommended!

And thinking about what Ellie has felt without knowing the background of Abby it is understandable why she went after Abby, and then why she let her go. All in all, this was an exceptional and great game.… Expand

    Brilliant game with good story telling that makes you sit at the edge of you seat the whole way through. The gameplay is really fun with much improved crafting system, new skill trees to upgrade from (10 total), and much improved stealth mechanics, having the prone.

    Yapp yapp yapp, haters is gonna hate, I think there was a reason for every plot decision.     Amazing game in all aspects. Maybe it wasnt the story people were expecting but it was a story worth telling. Best game of the generation without a dubt. Only thing that is missing is the multiplayer. Nothing else.

По началу ты не веришь в происходящее, к середине ты уже просто наслаждаешься геймплеем и всем остальным, стараясь не обращать внимание на странный, будто быБезупречное техническое исполнение. В какой-то момент ты не можешь оторваться от игры и хочешь орать от крутости происходящего, а в какой-то сидишь с фейспалмом, и только к самому концу игры все ниточки эмоций сходятся. И в это сложно ,и многим не хочется поверить, но в этом и была задумка игры. Все неоднозначные события и задумывались неоднозначными и вызывающими раздражение. Через это раздражение и происходит главное эмоциональное вовлечение в игру. Нилу Дракману получилось сделать очень интересную игру по своей драматургической концепции, она сложна в понимании, она сложна в эмоциональном спектре, который должен прочувствовать игрок. Каждый, кто просто играл вовлечено и вдумчиво, стараясь эмпанировать героям, получит от всей игры огромное количество эмоций, а под конец будет сидеть до конца титров с раздумьями над темами, поднятыми в игре. Моя оценка 10 баллов, хотя я бы все же поставил 9.5. Как по мне игра затянута во многих моментах. Возможно нужно было больше времени дать Эбби, меньше Элли вначале. Так же по мелочам в игре есть косяки,как технические, так и геймплейные, но о них говорить слишком долго и они незначительны.. Эта игра на совершенно ином уровне, чем все другие игры, разве только RDR2 и Uncharted 4 от той же студии могут с ней сравниться. И я рад что есть такие игры!… Expand

    I play games for its awesome gameplay graphics and setting plus story, story for me in a videogame is a Plus not mandatory,,
    if I care too much about the story there are millions of tv shows and movies out there go watch them to pay $60 for a story go and pick a novel for 10 bucks and thats it don't bother yourself with the story in video games;

    The Last of Us Part II is a story about hate and people driven and destroyed bt it, so it amazes me how the message of the game transcends into a real life and a fuzz people make around this game. But in real life we don't even need a zombie apocalipse to show our worst.
    It's a sign of a real emotional immaturity to cry about a story decision in a video game.
    Please note, that nearly all of the negative reviews were posted on June 19th, as soon as Metacritic opened user reviews section for TLOU2. These people didn't play a game, they came just do spread hate.

    In my humble opinion, it's the best, the most dark and brutal story in video games so far. It's direct and ugly to the bone. it doesn't screw around and provides something very unique in game industry. There is nothing like it. It doesn't play around with movie tropes. It hits you in a face with unexpected, brutal events. It's the most violent game, because of very dark, realistic presentation.
    Story, locations, characters are amazing in this game.

    The combat part of a gameplay is superb. At first glance, it's a mild evolution on concepts introduced in the first part of the franchise. If you played previous Naughty Dog games, you will feel like home. The best thing about the gameplay, is that there are no clear borders between stealth, meele combat, shooting and running and hiding. It's all combined into a unique 'survival experience', that will makes you tense and nervous like no other game. In other stealth games, usually when I'm discovered by enemy I restart encounter. But mechanics of TLOU2 are so good, so elegantly combined, that I nearly enjoy being disovered and fighting for my life. It really looks like in this E3 trailer, where you assasinate few guys from stealth, than you are discovered, you run, you hide under a car etc.

    No need to speak about graphics and sound, as it speak for itself.

    Game has a few problems though:
    - it's too streched. I'd like it to be more story focused. Instead game too often prolongs the story with very long explorations, journes, retrospections etc. Often I was annoyed when I wanted to know how the story events will unravel, but game fed me with fillers
    - LGBT is really strong in this one. Way stronger than I initially though. It's not just that Ellie is a lesbian (which I think is great, it suits her character). There's much more of that stuff and bards will sing songs about butthurt of gamers for the years to come. It doesn't bother me, just like sexism in video games doesn't bother me much. It's just a game, lets take a chill pill, be more tolerant to other people's beliefes. Neil did the game he wanted to do and I respect that.
    - too much of licking the walls. I understand looking for resources is important part of a game, but I expect better from Naughty Dog 2020
    - too much of 'this door is locked, lets look for a different way in' kind of crap. I hope I wouldn't experience this in Naughty Dog 2020 game

    Masterfull game, one of the best I have ever played. The story is not what I expected but it is true to the Last of Us universe, gut wrenching and depressing. The hate to this game is dumb and mostly unfounded, mainly due to what happens early in the game. So far this is the Game of the Year for me.

    TLOU2 after 11 hours spent in the game = don't be distracted by the evaluation of people who behave like a small child when something is not according to him. TLOU2 is an absolutely great game. He pulls in and doesn't let go. 11 hours in 2 days. I am 40 years old. The game is absolutely amazing.

    First things first: If you listen to anybody saying "agenda, feminism" or things like that to criticize this game, stop them and remind them: First, Ellie was based on the actress Ellen Page, who revealed to be a lesbian on TV and has been continuously fighting for the lgbt community. Ellie was created    Ok, this is going to be long, but please, read it if you're really a fan of this game.
    First things first: If you listen to anybody saying "agenda, feminism" or things like that to criticize this game, stop them and remind them: First, Ellie was based on the actress Ellen Page, who revealed to be a lesbian on TV and has been continuously fighting for the lgbt community. Ellie was created like that, we can see it in the first game and confirm it on the DLC. The game is set for the most part in Seattle, a city which is symbol for lgbt rights and many others. The trailers showed us that. This is not agenda, Bill from the first game was also homosexual and nobody was complaining about it. I'm really happy they decided to stick to this decision.

    Second: IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO FINISH THIS GAME IN A DAY. And I mean it, I took my 28 hours of gameplay to finish it, spread out during Friday to Monday. Most of the bad scores came on the first day and the reason for that is obvious: There's a scene in the beginning that, in my opinion, exists only to divide who is not going to play because they can't stand the idea of progress and Ellie being gay, from the people who don't care about it or like that idea. This scene is there to make some people close the game, people who Neil Druckman and the cast probably didn't want playing it anyway. So that's why the score is now going up. People who really finished after days of playing can now come and give their real opinion about it. Don't trust reviews from Friday or Saturday, those people didn't finish the game.

    Now, I need to say that the story has some bad moments where you are going to get really angry and ask "why are you doing this game? WHY?". And for a moment I thought all the reviews were real. But wait a little, finish the game, in the end everything is going to be worth it. Ok, there are some moments that I really think they should have removed because they just make you feel frustrated, but overall, it's a brilliant game. Anyway, The story is a masterpiece, but you definitely need to finish to understand it. It made me cry 5 times.
    People are only complaining about it because they didn't finish or they didn't understand the first game. This game teach us never to listen only to one side of the story, never to judge a person, anyone, if you don't know their story. Was joel a hero or a villain in the first game? You should really think about JOEL'S actions and its consequences in the first game if you want to understand Part 2 and why the story is what it is.
    Is it as good as The Last of Us 1? Nop, nothing will be, but it's a masterpiece on its own and really deserves a 10. I'm just sad with all this score bombing situation, it's not a game which deserves it!    … Expand

    What I can tell you now is that this game is not a 3/10, but it's not a 10/10 either. Не смотря на то, что в геймплей не было добавлено практически ничего нового, играть в игру приятно и интересно. Сюжет довольно трогательный, есть пища для размышлений, но концовка меня не устроило.     Great Game! Yes, I was worried that Naughty Dog was gonna f the Dog on this one, even while playing it I worried all the way through, but the Game is solid! There are 2 or 3 moments when you feel like it might be straying, but fear not, it is extremely well done. Stop looking at leaks,( I avoided them on purpose ) and play the finished game. Definitely worth it!

I am writing this review about 24 hours after finishing the game and I am still unsure as to how I should be feeling about this, the ending specifically. The game opens a short amount of time after the events of the first, and we play as Joel whilst the opening credits roll. Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson continue their outstanding performances from the first game in the scenes they share together at the start, and throughout the rest of the game.

    I had seen the leaks before beginning my play through and like everyone else, I only felt anger towards this game, but it must, must be played. Those scenes were truly out of context and it is crucial you play through the whole game before hating. You MUST play this, you cannot judge this based on seeing someone else's gameplay, you must play this for yourself.

    Spoilers from here:

    This game breaks my heart - entirely. It is brutal, and I'm still an emotional wreck. Joel saves a new character, Abby, before he is then brutally tortured and murdered by her and her friends, in front of Ellie when she arrives. This creates a lot of anger towards this character, and also confusion. It's difficult to believe after the first game that Joel trusts a stranger, and goes back to their place, instead of going to a secure city roughly the same distance away. So yeah, wasn't exactly pleased with how they killed Joel.

    Throughout the rest of the game, you get flashbacks with Joel, each one just had me see an innocent, great, old guy (very much not innocent), that just made me cry and realise the harshness of his death. When the game makes you play as Abby for hours on end, I wanted to put it down. At this stage, I stopped looking for collectables and just wanted to get back to Ellie. Surprisingly though, I did get somewhat intrigued by Abby's story, and start to feel some sort of care for the character, despite still wanting her dead for what she did to Joel.

    It's the ending that really conflicts me. Abby gets to leave, losing nothing more than Ellie, whilst Ellie loses all of her relationships that mattered to her, and 2 of her fingers, breaking the bridge between her and Joel after his death. She can no longer play the guitar, and it breaks my heart.

    The gameplay, AI, visuals etc are all on another level, and that is where The Last of Us Part II really shines. It is the most stunning game of this generation and is worth it just from the "game" perspective, ignoring your thoughts on the story.

    Overall, I think The Last of Us Part II is a sequel we didn't need, but it's a game that will have an everlasting impact on me. I cannot stop thinking about what this game does, and how it has me so so upset for both Joel and Ellie. It's for that reason, combined with the gameplay I have given this a 10/10 - no other game has ever had me feel like this, and it's an experience you must go through. I will admit that if I could though, I would more accurately rate Part 2 with a 9.8/10 whilst Part 1 would win a 10/10. Part 1 has the better story for me, but Part 2 has everything perfect that a game needs – there are just some decisions with the story that I am not sure I agree with.

    I do prefer the story of the 1st game, and I wish the story could have unfolded differently in this sequel, as in the end the only thing we saw Joel and Ellie actually gain from all this was nothing. They just lost people, themselves, and parts of themselves. I really wish this could have taken a different route, but I can't say this is a bad or mediocre game, it is technically still a masterpiece, I just wish things went differently. That's what's so clever though, the world is cruel and this is a game that makes you realise that.

    I just ask that Naughty Dog clarify the ending (what happened with Dina etc), and maybe make a 3rd game somehow revealing that Joel isn't dead, and a cure is found, allowing for Joel and Ellie to clear out groups of infected and live a life in the normal world as Joel knew it with Sarah. Or, the more likely scenario, is a DLC similar to Left Behind is released, just giving us a lot of time with Joel and Ellie in Jackson similar to the flashbacks we got. I'd just be happy if the whole DLC was 4 hours of cutscenes between the 2 and other characters like Dina and Jesse. Wow has this game moved me. I can't stop thinking about it.

    UPDATE: It has been 2 weeks since my first playthrough and having thought about this game more, it is slowly getting onto the same level as Part 1 for me and it is certainly a game that has to be played. It is a shame most of the user reviews on here are from people who haven’t even given the game a chance and are judging it based on 1 scene, or “experience” they have watching it on YouTube. It HAS to be played.

Так было и после прохождения первой части - я месяц после этого ни игры, ни кино не смотрел - на столько высоки были подаренные игрой эмоции. В общем-то переплюнуть Naughty Dog могут только сами Naughty Dog, что они и сделали, создав шедевр.
    Признаюсь, в игре есть резкие и не очень приятные сюжетные повороты, после одного хотел бросить игру и влепить "кол" на метакритике, но потом вял себя в руки и прошел игру.. Она воистину божественна. Качественная графика, красивые текстуры, обширные локации, незамыленный сюжет без обилия клише, порой доходящее до паранойи внимание к мелочам, приятные анимации, в том числе лицевые, доработанный, хоть и до боли знакомый геймплей - все сделано качественно и со вкусом. Еще раз отмечу сюжет - он здесь шикарный, если бы я был дома один, когда играл в эту игру - наверное пару раз заплакал бы. В век ААА-проектов с громадным открытым миром и множеством сайд-активитис в играх легко потерять суть повествования, но Доги и тут всех переплюнули, завставив неистово дико бомбить любителей бессюжетных рпг-песочниц и лутер-шутеров. Для тех, кто боится ЛГБТ-тематики, могу Вас уверить, что в игре есть только поцелуй и легкий флирт, не более.
    После прохождения игры осадок остался, ибо такие игры выходят не так часто, поэтому ближайшие 5-7 лет будем скучать и время от времени перепроходить как первую, так и вторую части.    … Expand

    Uno de los mejores juegos de la historia, sin duda alguna, lo que hicieron a nivel de técnica, gráficas y sobretodo en la historia te deja muy sorprendido. Este juego no es para niños.

    The Last Of Us Part II è un'avventura indimenticabile che mi resterà dentro per sempre. Tutto funziona quasi alla perfezione: la trama è tra le più realistiche e mature mai viste nei videogiochi, il gameplay è una perfetta evoluzione del predecessore e graficamente il gioco è quanto di migliore si sia mai visto su ps4.     The Last Of Us Part 2 è uno di quei titoli che mostra quanta potenza, a livello emotivo, abbia il videogioco, a volte nettamente superiore ai film, dove si è solo passivi davanti allo schermo.
    Questo è uno di quei casi, dove le emozioni ed i sentimenti che si provano giocandolo, non sono raggiungibili da nessun altro medium d'intrattenimento.
    Part 2 è uno di quei titoli che ti fanno    The Last Of Us Part 2 è uno di quei titoli che mostra quanta potenza, a livello emotivo, abbia il videogioco, a volte nettamente superiore ai film, dove si è solo passivi davanti allo schermo.
    Questo è uno di quei casi, dove le emozioni ed i sentimenti che si provano giocandolo, non sono raggiungibili da nessun altro medium d'intrattenimento.
    Part 2 è uno di quei titoli che ti fanno amare ancora di più il videogioco, perchè ne capisci grandezza e bellezza.
    Parlando ora nel dettaglio, partiamo dal lato puramente tecnico.
    Graficamente è ineccepibile. Ogni ambientazione curata nel minimo dettaglio, realistica nel suo contesto.
    Non ci sono assets ripetuti, case uguali, mappe simili. Ogni cosa nel gioco è unica e mantenere tale varietà per più di 30 ore con questo dettaglio, e a dir poco strabiliante.
    Animazioni fluide e realistiche, molte conestuali perciò uniche.
    Il comparto della animazioni facciali è il migliore visto fin'ora, sia in game che nelle cut-scene.
    Modelli dei personaggi, infetti, cani ecc, di una qualità superlativa.
    Cut-scene a dir poco strabiliante, con una recitazione perfetta ed una messa in scena di altissimo livello. Ognuna di queste mai banali, con un'ottima scrittura, rimangono in testa per parecchio tempo.
    Sonoro pregievolissimo ed una colonna sonora perfetta.
    Dal punto di vista del gameplay, ci troviamo di fronte ad una evoluzione completa di quello già visto nel primo capitolo.
    Prima di tutto il fatto di poter saltare ma sopratutto sdraiarsi e strisciare, permette un approccio agli scontri vario, dinamico ed imprevedibile.
    Tutto questo grazie ad un level design a dir poco perfetto, tra cunicoli, strettoie, verticalità della mappa, ecc.
    Buona varietà di armi e personalizzazioni di queste ultime, oltre ad uno skill tree che permette di approcciare al gioco nel modo in cui si preferisce.
    Intelligenza artificiale dei nemici non rivoluzionaria, ma sicuramente sopra la media.
    Infetti più "svegli" e aggressivi, con gli Stalker sicuramente i più tosti da affrontare.
    Parlando dal lato narrativo, il gioco non solo raggiunge le vette del primo capitolo, ma le supera andando oltre. Una storia di vendetta, in cui la vendetta è solo il mezzo per mostrare come il dolore può far crescere quel vuoto, quell'oscurità, che pian piano ci divora dentro.
    Una storia anche di redenzione, dopo aver perso completamente se stessi, ossessionati dall'odio e dalla rabbia.
    Una storia che non ha buoni o cattivi, non ha vinti o vincitori.
    Una storia che non riguarda personaggi ma persone, con le proprie vicissitudini, sentimenti, paure.
    Se il finale del primo capitolo vi aveva lasciato senza fiato, quello del secondo ha un impatto emotivo senza eguali per quanto mi riguarda. Uno dei finali più emozionanti che abbia mai vissuto.
    Potente, triste, speranzoso, malinconico, tutte queste sensazioni in un unico attimo.
    Nelle 30 ore vi ritroverete dentro ad una sceneggiatura e scrittura di altissimo livello, con un finale che vi rimarrà in mente per tantissimo tempo.
    Per me è un CAPOLAVORO, un gioco che è entrato di diritto nel mio cuore e che non scorderò mai.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
