    Playing this game was like playing a video game version of Johnny Cash’s cover of ‘Hurt’. And I mean that in the best way possible. (Someone said this on twitter, and that’s the best way I could describe it) The game did have a few pacing issues at some segments, but that can’t outshine the highs of highs in this game.     gameplay is much more better than the first one and the graphics and sound design are top notch.
    For the story it would have never appealed to everyone as it is clear now. most people who played the game and don't like it is actually in denial of what happens and i get it . it is that strong. emotional journey from start to finish. and the set pieces in the game are amazing so so good.
    definitely a game for mature audiences not cry babies who refused to even try the game because either for pity personal reasons or being brainless about it.

    The first game is about hope the second they had said its about hate, the way that the game is directed and forced the players to feel the hate, its spot on. A game that dont create emotions is a mediocre game, a game that creates emotions no matter what they are its a successful game.     A fantastic game worthy of all of the admiration it has received. I understand why people were upset with the story, but in my opinion, the Naughty Dog Team made some courageous decisions to deliver a POWERFUL story. The game is a little bit overfull, but I'd hate to complain about a company adding in extra value when that's what a lot of games need more of. The characters were brilliantA fantastic game worthy of all of the admiration it has received.     Imagine if those leaks never happened. Players would concentrate on the whole story, without specifying certain moments. No one would play the game with leaked scenes in mind. Just try to perceive the story as a chunk, not in pieces. Maybe THEN you will understand.

In TLOU2 no one is a saint and everyone has sinned in one way or another. No one is 100% bad, no one is 100% good. We are human beings and many times we allow ourselves to be driven by impulses and life leads us on different paths. The game is exquisite in all aspects, gameplay, storytelling, graphics, art, and direction. Ellie and Abby are as strong as Joel and very much like him. Joel is the bond that binds them to them for better or worse. I don't know, I don't want to spoil the story but if I say to cry several times with emotion, insult, I was amazed, I discovered much more than a game in TLOU2, it left me a lesson.     A true Masterpiece, i literally just finished the game which i got delivered on 22nd of June, believe me this is a must play game, great gameplay mechanics, great visuals and great story. So glad that the folks at naughty dog didn't compromise great storytelling for fan service. I am very excited for this series to be adapted by HBO

I bought the game and for a couple of weeks I was immersed in it. I have never seen such intensity of drama in any other game. Emotions are torn over the place, the game makes you suffer and experience everything that happens in it. At the end, I felt depression, sadness and hopelessness ... It's just amazing! I’m so tired of all these "super heroes", "happy ends" and boring stories! I have got many thoughts after passing… many questions for my own life ... When the credits began, I just got up, went to my daughter, hugged her and sat like that for some time ...
    I absolutely cannot understand all this crazy hatred around the game. Indeed, there is a lot of unnecessary feminism, many LGBT feature stories. Why is “transgender” needed here? Why all the main and strong characters (except Joel) are women? In the WLF camp you can hear a conversation of random people about the love of two guys (this moment can be easily miss), what is it for? Many of these things just made it difficult for me to empathize with some of the characters. I am not against LGBT, but sometimes there is too much of it! Why couldn't it be done like in the first part of the game? There were strong men and women; it was harmoniously incorporated into the game's plot. I believed in role-playing of Bill, Tess, Marlene! But Lev's motivation eluded me... Either he is a girl, but wants to be a boy, or he / she is fighting against the patriarchy in the village, or he / she simply did not want to marry this man??? What should I empathize with here? Why is this? To please someone or try to take advantage of current “LGBT-trends”? It's superfluous, but it does NOT make the game a bad!     O jogo não é perfeito pois jogo perfeito não existe, porem o carinho que à Naughty dog botou no aspectos de gráficos, trilha sonora e gameplay fazem dele um jogo com uma experiência única! Que não dar para descrever apenas falando! Tem que jogar pra sentir.

I just finished it as I work ungodly hours and the only small problem I can see with the game is the ending. Also yes of course Joel died we all knew that to begin with! Unfortunately no Ellie doesn't take her revenge on Abby which is unfortunate but the game and the story was absolutely brilliant from pillar to post. I don't get why people are hating on it but hey ho what's new there.… Expand

The game literally had me in my feels from beginning to end did not think I'd grow to like Abby's character as much as I did but I believe that the story teaches a very powerful message about how revenge can feel good at the time and seem justified but can also rob you of all you hold dear the enemies are extremely smart and keep you on your toes and feel very human the world itself is gorgeous and highly detailed and I love crazy amount of options put in the game it made it very easy for even my wife to play it so thanks for that as well… Expand

    mais vers la seconde moitié, quand on incarne Abby je me suis rendu compte que le méchant dans l'histoire n'est pas abby. c'est la que j'ai adoré le jeu, le fait de pouvoir incarné le "méchant" et de se rendre compte que il ne l'est pas comme tu (Ellie) n'est pas le "gentil".
    pour moi c'est une bonne idée se scénar, sa casse les scénars manichéiste qu'on se mange régulièrement.

I avoided as much of the pre-release gameplay as possible and didn’t read any of the leaks as I wanted to experience the story by playing it. If you are expecting an adventure story about Noel and Ellie then you will not be satisfied. Although there are elements of adventure between the two, the story mainly focuses on revenge.

    One element that makes this story great is by not sticking to the storytelling traditions that have become predictable over time, particularly in most games or Hollywood movies. This story is far from predictable and ND have not been afraid to make bold decisions which in my opinion pays off, however, I think this is why peoples opinions are so split on the events that take place. Without trying to reveal too much about the game, the sequel, like the original, does not directly have a happy ending. The ending of the original is not as such a ‘happy ending’ but a sigh of relief that Joel saves Ellie from a death which would have been justified for the greater good. If the player had been given a choice to save Ellie or let her die to save humanity, most players would have chosen to save Ellie as ND brilliantly made you feel a connection to the characters. The difference with the sequel is that connection is still there but the story is linear so the decisions are probably not what the player wanted to happen. In my opinion the story gets a 10/10 but I can understand why people are not satisfied. Also people need to bear in mind that this is a game set in a post apocalyptic world, and roughly 25 years into it. It has become a world where groups have formed over time but it is still every man for himself when around strangers. Also all of the characters have been accustomed to death so some decisions that may be perceived as extreme to us are perhaps not so much for the characters.

    TLOU 1&2 is all about ones perspective of what is right and wrong. ND have been so clever in writing this story arc that the decisions that the characters make are all based on the perspective of what Ellie and Joel believe is right. That’s until a mid-game plot twist where you start to question whether your actions (in both games) can be morally justified and you have to detach yourself from the characters to truly get an answer. Some horrific events at the start of the game seem extreme but in reality, if the shoe was on the other foot, they can be seen as justifiable in the oppositions eyes, despite the player not wanting to see this.

    That is why I believe this story is great. ND isn’t just telling a revenge story, it’s telling a story where if you can look at actions from both sides, the justification for revenge is just a matter of opinion. That opinion is dependent on your own perspective of what you believe is right, but in the overall scheme of things, what you believe is right might not necessarily be what is morally right. It also shows that revenge can be a constant chain of events. You commit an action and someone takes revenge, you then take revenge on their revenge and it can continue back and forth until one wins or both lose. Ultimately, all actions have consequences and this story needs ‘revenge’ to happen for it to exist, but the developers ask the question can any good come out of revenge and is revenge always warranted? You can clearly see that this has been successfully portrayed by the mix of reviews and divide of opinion the game has had.

    As for the acting, the acting in this game is the best I have ever seen. Not only the way that the actors perform their lines but the movement actions and facial expressions are superb and the closest I have seen in a game to being real. The emotions of each character makes the story even more realistic and as always, ND’s attention to detail is incredible. Normally in games there is a small detail that stands out above others and for me this was the look in the eyes of a NPC when you sneak up on them and kill them from behind. The NPC's have a last look of struggle and lifelessness in their eyes that is incredibly realistic. The graphics and sound are also amazing and it feels like everything has been thought of. If you knock over a bucket that would normally be fixed to the ground as a back drop prop, the echos of the metal sound as if it was spontaneous rather that something that has been recorded.

    ND have polished this game to an incredibly high standard but in the end your are best playing it for yourself as the story is so opinionated that only you will be able to tell if you like it or not.    … Expand

    Graphics, animations, number of details and other technical aspects are the best in the industry so far. No one can deny it. The story though... is polarizing, whether you will like it or not depends entirely on what kind of person you are. For me it's one of the best stories I have ever experienced 10/10.

    This is a true sequel in every way to the first game released both on PS3 and PS4... The last of us Part 2 gives Ellie so much more growth and depth just as we see how she grows into her own. This game is being hailed as one of the best games even produced this console gen and I completely agree!

    Abby ends up being an amazing character, Owen, Manny, Lev, Yara are secondary characters but bring a lot to the story.
    The only downside is that youll have tons of hours to complete this game since they want to show you both sides of the story.

When carrying each gun you can really sense their weight. The in-game graphic is breathtaking, from lightening to objects' textures to NPC meshes. The cutscenes are a jaw-drop thanks to the meticulous and deep work the animators put in the facial expressions.
    Sound design and music are really well balanced and timed throughout the entire gameplay. They drop you into the environment as if you were living every MC's breaths.
    And now the crucial point: the Story. The nonlinear narrative is so well done that I think it's the strength of this game. Two parallel stories told one after the other to challenge the player. They wanted us to wear the shoes of 'the bad guy'. But we quickly realize that there's no hero, there's no villain, there are just people surviving a world that has lost rules and civilization. Everyone fights its own battle for their own sake. Joel's death wasn't epic. Ellie's desire for revenge wasn't fulfilled. And that's the best they could do! Death isn't epic. There's no glorious (Marvel like) death here, there is just a cold butchered body. Even if I loved Joel in TLoU and I'd have loved to play him more.
    But I don't buy videogames to play my story. I can live my story in my dreams. When I buy a game I want it to surprise me, to encourage me to see things from different points of view. Otherwise, I will always be blind.

    The game is well...Insane. The graphics are so crazy detailed, the animations have never, in any game, been as fluid and the story really makes you think and is not just there for enjoyment, its a story of consequences, the part that was left out by the excellent first part.
    Enjoy the ride, there is no game out there that comes close to this. Piece of art.

This game is phenomenal, firstly the gameplay is a big step up from the original that builds on the systems in the first game and improves in them in every single way. The graphical fidelity is mind blowing, I genuinely can’t believe this is running on a PS4, it is very obvious that a lot of love and care has gone in to this game and it shows in the level of detail through the levels in the game. The amount minuscule details that have callbacks to events in the games universe or give further depth to a character is mind blowing. The level design also feels more natural and less linear than the first game, with many levels having a maze of buildings to get through to get to the other side.

    The storyline is brilliant in the way it gives even more meaning to elements of the first game whilst telling its own story. I’ve never experienced a game that challenges the main characters choices and morality so strongly and make you question their motives and then go on to make you play as a character that you currently hate and takes you on a journey to understand and empathise with them. I believe this was the intention of the game, if you get angry at certain moments and cry at others, the writers and actors have done their job and I sincerely believe this game is a masterpiece in story telling, acting, game design, art style and graphical fidelity.    … Expand

    Played 16 hours so far and it has been a bliss. I never felt a game so much. You feel like you are really there. It's such a tiresome on-edge game that really gets to you.     The graphics are amazing. The story is compelling. A few new mechanics and all the old ones polished. This game is 100% a game of the year contender.

    I think its a 9/10 but I gave it a 10 to help counter the trolls.

    Ive never played such a fantastic game!! The world here is the true star of the game. the apocalyptic setting is jaw dropping. Story is very well done and the gameplay is just terrific. This game will be talked about for years to come and is the best game this year.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I just finished the game and I think it was awesome. I enjoyed the characters and the story. And I thought it was great to be able to play the "bad girl" too. I also enjoyed the violence and the fact that revenge lead nowhere in the end.

    The only story part I did not like was that Lev acted like a child and indirectly killed his mother and sister. It was like in those movies where you bring in a stupid character that does stupid things so that the story gets interesting.

    I hope the producers and devs do not get discouraged by the bad user reviews to create more such ambivalent and mature games.    … Expand

Me parece lamentable que halla gente que puntue mal este juego por una decisión de argumento de la historia. Un videojuego de 10 que todo el mundo deberia probar una vez en su vida.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Maravilloso juego!! A pesar de haber sido spoileado con la muerte de Joel, una pensémosla que fuese de esa manera, me dejo mal. Y luego te hicieron jugar con el personaje que lo mató fue super incomodo en un principio, pero a medida que pasaba el juego fui entendiendo todo. Un juego valiente, que te hace salir de tu zona de confort acostumbrada ( saber quien son los "buenos" y quienes son los "malos"). Valiente, por que sabiendo que mucha gente no entendería ni le gustaría el porque de los acontecimientos, decidió llevarte a otro nivel de juego, de sensaciones. Respetando todas las opiniones, creo que no mucha gente no esta preparada para jugar este tipo de juegos que son mas complejos y de una trama mas complicada, que te deja pensando. Para mi una experiencia única, que no había vivido con otro videojuego.… Expand

    Jogo simplesmente maravilhoso! História muito bem contada! Os flashbacks são excelentes, os personagens são bem trabalhados e possuem uma história fantástica (cada)! O jogo é emocionante do início ao fim, tendo um final tão digno quanto o do jogo que o precede! Sem sombra de dúvidas, "The Last of Us Parte II" merece o Game of the year, bem como todos os prêmios que certamente irá vencer!Jogo simplesmente maravilhoso! História muito bem contada! Os flashbacks são excelentes, os personagens são bem trabalhados e possuem uma história fantástica (cada)! O jogo é emocionante do início ao fim, tendo um final tão digno quanto o do jogo que o precede!     Loved it. Great mechanics and Top notch graphics. Xbots and MasturdRace trolls trying hard to heal their insecurities here.

    Отличная графика, великолепное внимание к деталям, хорошие персонажи и одна из лучших игр на ПС 4, проходить рекомендую на высокой сложности что-бы прочувствовать всю жестокость постапокалипсиса.

    Yesterday I finished The Last of Us: Part 2, a lot of impressions from the dramatic plot and the level of graphics. Naughty Dog are masterpiece developers. I hope to plunge into the world of The Last of Us again someday...

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
