    After playing through the whole game I can safely say that this is the best game I have ever played, Naughty Dog has crafted another masterpiece. I would recommend this game to anyone and please do not listen to the people who haven’t played the game because there is way more to the game than just one cutscene in the beginning of the game.

Who the heck would want to play as the killer of one of TLOU1's protagonists? Whoever wrote the story for TLOU2 should be fired. I wish I would've known before j bought this game.… Expand

    Being one of the few people who didn't completely enjoy the first game, TLOU2 seems to fix the majority of the boring, repetitive gameplay issues. I think going into this having avoided all of the hype and spoilers was definitely beneficial to playing it and I thoroughly enjoyed the story. Although the game does drag on in the second half, the story rounds off in a nice way and IBeing one of the few people who didn't completely enjoy the first game, TLOU2 seems to fix the majority of the boring, repetitive gameplay issues.     To be honest I never played game like this. The story twist just blow me away. I don't even talk about graphics and small details. DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO BAD REVIEWS BUY THIS GAME AND YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!! THE MOST PART OF REVIEWERS WHO GAVE 0 DIDN'T EVEN PLAY THIS GAME. THAT IS EMBARRASSING.

    The best games I've played for years for two main reasons.

    Firstly, the story is deep and complex and draws you in, making you feel emotions and develop opinions, only to completely change your mind. The way that the story twists and turns as well as the topics covered, really helps make the story feel real. Secondly, the game mechanics are amazing, and even develop throughout the game.     Secondly, the game mechanics are amazing, and even develop throughout the game. The way sound echoes in different environments, ice cracks when you walk across it and how snow falls from the trees as you brush past them results in one of the most immersive game experiences I've ever had (I recommend playing with headphones). The puzzle based mechanics are also fantastic, but don't get overused, for example, early in the game they introduce a cable puzzle (with great rope physics), but this is only used a few times, so if doesn't get boring and throughout the game more of these kind of mechanics are introduced.

    I very rarely play games not than one, but I'm already thinking about another playthrough if this excellent game.    … Expand

    A great game. Naughty Dog did a great job! My only complaint is they could have separated the main character archs a little better by switching between Ellie and Abby more often. The story writers brought to light some current events without those current events taking over the story. People who hate the game because of that are just narrow minded individuals.     After almost a month dedicated to this game, I finished and 100% TLOU2. Took me about 40 hours to platinum the game. Here are some thoughts:

    Pros: +World building +Music score +Animation +Level design +Lighting effects +Impressive accessibility options (even if I won't need them) +Attention to detail (is full of things most won't notice) +A technical achievement.     -Abby/Lev's story didn't feel as powerful and meaningful as Joel/Ellie's.
    -Game dragged in the 2nd half, felt too long.

    TLOU2 has it's own identity. I'm glad it happened, but also see some flaws when they decided to come back to a story that was perfect. The reception probably would be better if they moved away from Joel and Ellie's story. Even if I didn't like some things, the game is incredible.    … Expand

The game is truly unique in gameplay, graphics, lightning and story, and it's a pinnacle of this generation of consoles. I was waiting for this game A LOT and my expectations were very high (I bought the PS3 because of the original The Last of Us). Nonetheless, the game met my expectations. The only major problem that the game has is, in my opinion, HOW the story is told, and I mean the order and the pacing through which the game and the story present themselves. Sometimes, the tension and the pacing just drop down, interrupting a climax (for example when we switch from Ellie's point of view to Abby's). Moreover, I think that presenting both Abby's and Ellie's story chronologically by alternating and rotating between their points of views on a daily basis would have brought a greater experience and a deeper attachments to Abby's friends. Instead, in the way the game is presented, it's really hard to get attached to characters like Owen, for example, because we already know that Ellie is going to kill him in a few days. Apart from the pacing and the order the game is told, the game is a masterpiece and went for something completely different from the previous chapter, something that didn't please many users. I won't say what this game excels in, because we all already know. Oh, and I played the game twice and playing through Ellie's part the second time makes you understand better a lot of things, like for example, when WLF members are talking about searching for someone who escaped (which we know is Abby only after switching to Abby's part), or when WLF members talk about a sniper killing all their men (we know that sniper is Tommy only when we switch to Abby's part). This is another outcome of their narrative choice of telling first Ellie's point and view and THEN Abby's one.… Expand

Good job to the animators. -8 to the story telling which has terrible characters, ruins the old characters, and tries waaaay to hard to push an agenda. The writers really sunk the ship on this one. They betrayed the fan base and youl get low ratings everytime that happened. Предзаказал, почитал отзывы, хотел рефанднуть - не вышло (игра уже скачана), с той поры окончательно решил никогда не брать предзаказы. Уж не знаю, почему Neil **** решил, что он - невлупенный режиссер, скорее всего так считает его мама, но в реальности это немного не так. Сценарий лучше бы написал даже второкурсник тверского кинематографического училища, ну, нельзя так бездарно распорядиться Джоелом. Дыри в сюжете размером с Техас, персонажи убоги и тупы, их действия нелогичны и глупы. Игра затянута по ощущениям часов на 12 (я, тыкаясь во все углы, прошел за 27). Были парочка реально классных моментов, чего стоит только исполнение Элли песни «take on me”. Игра и так то блистала всеми цветами радуги, если вы понимаете, о чем я, но появление трансгендера ближе к концу игры... признаюсь, маляты, папочка был не готов. Из плюсов: графен и пара отличных эпизодов. Красная цена рублей 800-1000. Брать по заявленой цене, лучше просто затопите этими деньгами мангальчик, полезней будет.     A true masterpiece, for me it totally lived up to the last game. The story did have a bit of a down moment for me towards the end, but I think Naughty Dog managed to bring the story back from that point extremely well.
    I’m not the biggest fan of the sudden increase in difficulty by close-quarters combat with either a dozen of the infected or the bullet sponge-y “bosses”.     Here's to curve all the people who rated the game without playing it at all or all the way through. As someone who played it I will say be ready for an intense experience with alot of violence that makes you question if there is too much it in the game. Best game I've played in the last 5 years easy!

Set high the bar. the gestures and conversations in each dialogue are enjoyable, maintains a high level of interest in the player, goes from more to more, the story cannot be liked by many but the message came perfectly to me, we always tend to demonize those who believe the enemy without knowing what drives the character, we never thought in theirs interests, they are just people trying to revenge as Ellie wants to. I played this game and felt short for me but it wasn’t, it’s the story, mechanics, the gameplay, the tension, all in one make a great cocktail in this game. Personally I prefer this game over first one, I understand the rage of the people and fans but we have to remember there are no heroes here, just persons with the bad and good what represents being humans, I love Joel but I know he did bad things for his convenience. The inclusion it’s not forced, it’s very organic and represents the reality of some people, Abby is a great character but at the first I hated her because the game wants you to hate her, when I started playing with her I wanted to turn off the game, but advancing you understand why, I don’t love Abby but I understand, and I sympathize with her, I’d do the same, but we already know the cost of that. This game once you finish it, let you thinking and thinking, reflecting and you love it more, I felt is a path of hard emotions won’t let you with a good feelings, it’s bitter, in fact I didn’t want to play again the game just remembering what that entailed, but I did and saw other thing I didn’t when I played it for the first time, places, dialogues, collectibles etc. This deserves the must play stamp, give it a opportunity it’sa very personal game.… Expand

    Thanks, I hate it. Naughty Dog was a favorite game developer of mine for a long time but I feel like my trust in them has been shattered. I feel that they delivered nothing but false hope, lies, and political propaganda instead of a good, playable game. Thanks, but no thanks. I'll give my money to Rockstar and Square Enix from now on.

In all my years of playing video games i honestly can’t remember a more boring and unexiteing way a company decides to kill a character off, and not just any character the main character and arguably one of the best characters in video game history. I could have thought of 10 more better ways to kill joel off. And then on top of that the campaign is boring and is missing elements that make you want to keep playing. I feel like i was robbed of $60 for not only a boring story but a short boring 30 hour story. I gave it a 2 because atleast the graphics look good but the story was awful and the gameplay was meh. I’m very sad that they ruined what easily could’ve been game of the year and could have been a all time great video game series… Expand

    I "Spent some time playing the game" and while I can say the graphics and gameplay are great and on par with the first game, the storytelling is horrendous. The in your face political messages are too frequent and really make you roll your eyes. We get it ellie is a lesbian and thats fine but do you have to add the homophobic guy and remind us of the fact ever two seconds. Only parts of the story I can say I genuinely enjoyed where the parts with ellie and joel other than that avoid this game so maybe in the future creators will focus on making good games people want to play as opposed to sjw crap.     Man I was expecting so much more after playing last of us remastered twice all the way through. I should have read the other reviews before wasting money on this game, it is obvious that the developer was more interested in pushing an agenda than actually producing a game to surpass the previous game. Do not waste your money or time.

    A masterpiece of emotional storytelling and character development. It's dark, and at times hurtful. However, it takes a great deal of skill to evoke such an emotional response toward fictional characters and scenarios, and in that way, The Last of Us Part 2 is an incredibly powerful piece of art worthy of my highest praises.

    il gioco oggettivamente non può prendere meno di 8 per le qualità/dettagli all'interno del del gameplay e storia, i modelli dei personaggi sono incredibili, l'immersivitá durante il gameplay è da pelle d'oca, soggettivamente parlando la storia mi è piaciuta anche se fa male... il gameplay è un miglioramento del primo che rende molto più godibile il gioco, il mio voto è 9.5 non so perché siil gioco oggettivamente non può prendere meno di 8 per le qualità/dettagli all'interno del del gameplay e storia, i modelli dei personaggi sono incredibili, l'immersivitá durante il gameplay è da pelle d'oca, soggettivamente parlando la storia mi è piaciuta anche se fa male... il gameplay è un miglioramento del primo che rende molto più godibile il gioco, il mio voto è 9.5 non so perché si possa mettere solo 10 o 9 qui... chi ha dato 0 a questo gioco ha grossi problemi personali, molta frustrazione mentale e probabilmente sono stati molto viziati fin da piccoli, non aggiungo altro.… Expand

    Game is perfect! Despite the hatred of the game, its gameplay is perfect, the enemies' AI is surprising, a good combat system and a narrative that supports us in detail. It is not a story for anyone. Game is cruel and bloody, giving you the reality of an apocalyptic world, I recommend to everyone to give the game a chance for the game, and do not go after hate.

No matter what the detractors say because they love Joel and Ellie so much, everyone has to admit that the storyline was good because it made you feel some kind of way when situations happened to the characters and THAT is what makes the game good! At first I was rooting for Ellie and Joel and when it cane time to play as Abby I literally was thinking to myself “well screw her! I’m just gonna play her and do the minimum!”. I couldn’t stand her at first, but then I started seeing all that she had gone through in the game, why she did the things she did and started realizing, hey she does have a heart and NO she didn’t kill Joel for no apparent reason whatsoever! The only scientist/doctor (that anyone was aware of) that could potentially create a vaccine and save humanity is dead because of Joel! I don’t think people really let that sink in because they want to marry Joel and Ellie so bad. The characters Joel and Ellie were good people in their own way, but Abby was good in her own way as well. It just takes seeing things from another person’s shoes rather than your own selfish viewpoint just because Joel was killed. There wouldn’t be a story if everyone lived. There wouldn’t be dialogue between people about the game either. What would there be? Bigger monsters and tiptoeing through the tulips? Come on people! Abby was after the cause of her pain and sorrow. She didn’t want anybody dead but him, she could have killed Ellie as well, but she didn’t because Ellie wasn’t the source of her distress. It was Joel. No one can tell me they would have done things differently if they were in her shoes! Most people would’ve prolly killed Ellie too, but Abby showed her humanity and it’s wild to me how people didn’t see it! The last fight was brutal and over the top and it showed me that Ellie was kind of crazed during the fight. Abby only fought Ellie to save this teenage boys life. She didn’t even want to do it! Ellie didn’t give two licks. Her humanity was nearly gone. She didn’t care what was going on around her, she only saw one thing and that was to see Abby dead. In the end people really need to play the game in its entirety, PROCESS what happened (if they can’t while playing) and then write a review. Don’t write a review based on love for characters in the last game. Don’t write a review when you haven’t completed the game or based off leaks. I’m only saying this because I know someone who has an opinion opposite mine that hasn’t played the game and thank goodness they didn’t write a review just because of things they seen in leaks and reviews from people who haven’t played.… Expand

But after playing it, they regretted the money they spent on it. The game is terrible: -Graphics. I'll start with a good one, because people working on species and other things have done a good job and the world is really atmospheric. Gameplay - for me this is a big minus, because for so many years I would like more changes in terms of gameplay. The plot - And here it will be hot, the first 2 hours pass more or less, all before the main character of part 1, Joel, is drained. Even though it Joel is difficult to call because the last character left only a name, right appearance. They kill him as cruelly as possible... During the entire scene, you ask 1 question, for what? For not allowing the vaccine to be made? Was it necessary? After all, part 1 showed us that even those places where people were constantly attacked. And what would happen if the vaccine miraculously cured everyone? WAR! A war for supplies, a war for everything! For humanity to get back on its feet will take a very long time. OK let's move on, Ellie saw Joel's death and vowed revenge. And the gameplay for Ellie was quite enjoyable, yet both she and I had a motive to kill these people. But that's just it... Seriously, all those friends of Abby's are almost suicidal, because almost every murder is an imposter of Ellie's. And here we are already fired up, the flames of revenge are boiling and you can go for a walk because then you will play half the game for Abby! All the pumping for Ellie remained with her, so swing again. This part of the game I will omit because it can be described as "but they were actually people, and you killed them" (Aha, if I cared). There is such a character as Jesse, the only one who caused me to like the new characters, he conceived a child for the girl Ellie, and I liked him. And that in the end, they just kill him when he walks through the door... And when I wanted to avenge Jessie and show Abby her place, I was told, " Oh, really! Go pee Ellie along with your friend/girlfriend Lion" (this creature it infuriated me throughout the game, because we have a post-Apocalypse, but we all really care who you think you are. ) And a couple of words about Abby, I don't believe that she could get so high without foreign substances, and to be honest, I don't really want to empathize with her, because you've seen where she lives? It's almost a Paradise for them! (Do not forget that on the streets now, in fact, people should tear each other up for an extra bottle of water). And Abby decides to let go of Ellie and her girl and here they zhivkt happy with the child (for some Reason Jessie does not even remember), but then Ellie remembers about revenge (Not without Tommy's help) and goes to Abby, again on his way killing a lot of people and here she is tied to a post, start bullying her as she then over Joel, but she lets her go, well, OK maybe wants to kill her in a fair duel. Well, you're finally drowning it... You remember all the people she killed and maimed... You almost feel satisfied... But Ellie lets them go... You get up, calmly exhale, and then ask the question, what did I just play? Many say moll, the moral of the story is that Revenge is bad, let's close our eyes to the fact that the moral is banal, but even this could have been played well, but they didn't do it. Ellie returns home and.. Where's Dina? Do you mean to say that when the world is a complete nightmare, she took the baby and left? When you can be killed by zombies or other people who just want to survive. Just wonderful... Story: It's dark and great, It's not boring at all and yeah sometimes this game slap you in the face because the last of us two shows you never know when you die or how you or someone you love die, I had a problem when people say: OHH why you killed Joel he was a nice guy he is my HERO!!!!!, No he wasn't, After his daughter died he always makes sure everything happens don't hurt him and its really selfish. he killed so many people because he didn't want to lose someone again. and because of that nobody cant makes the cure. Yeah, Joel died really harsh, and it was too much and Ellie sometimes being dumb and she did some dumb thing, Oh and that sex scene was really disgusting.
    I love the gameplay and graphics.

This game is about ending the cycle of violence and seeing that hurting and taking away other peoples lives and happiness won't help you or bring back the people you've lost, but stopping before you become a true monster will bring back the light you've lost, whether that be through saving others and becoming their family, or realising that you're hurting your family and you need to help yourself and then help them so you can really find peace and happiness together. I also thoroughly enjoyed the gameplay, the stealth aspect of the gameplay is phenomenal, so much fun to do, and there are so many ways through scenarios, whether that be avoiding all together or sneaking or just going full ham. I ended up adoring every single character by the end of it, and really empathised with each one and their individual struggles. Made me laugh, made me sob crying, made me angry, made me feel peace. What an amazing game to do that and put me through all these emotions, especially with hating certain characters, and coming to understand and then love them. This is what games should be about, not trying to do what they know fans will like that would be repetitive, but something truly unique, giving us a new story and a push forward. I havent stopped thinking about it!! Massively reccomend.… Expand

    I will speak in order of Plot (NO SPOILER), Technical side, Gameplay and Defects of the game. At first I couldn't understand why this game was so critically acclaimed. Yes, it was definitely a very high quality game, but it didn't seem as incredible to me as everyone described it. Then, something happened at some point, which will completely reverse the perception, not only of theI will speak in order of Plot (NO SPOILER), Technical side, Gameplay and Defects of the game. At first I couldn't understand why this game was so critically acclaimed. Yes, it was definitely a very high quality game, but it didn't seem as incredible to me as everyone described it. Then, something happened at some point, which will completely reverse the perception, not only of the previous half of The Last Of Us Part 2, but of the whole saga of The Last Of Us. That event will lead to an ending that emotionally destroys the player, a very open ending, more than the first chapter. Personally, I recommend playing both The Last Of Us and Left Behind, both equally important for understanding the ending of the second chapter. If you are looking for a game to finish quickly and well, well, this is not the game for you: it lasts almost 30 hours, even if on the internet there are speed runs without glitches for only 5 and a half hours. From a technical point of view, well, what about ... it takes the wealth of Horizon Zero Dawn screen polygons and multiplies them out of all proportion and combines them with incredibly detailed graphics and animations never seen before. The dubbing (Italian), as in the first chapter is perfect, in some sections, as in the first chapter, even better than the original. The gameplay is the logical and coherent evolution of the first chapter, personally I really liked it. There is one thing, however, that I did not like. The bailouts and the checkpoints system, in my opinion, don't work well. In the initial part, the rescue system risks eliminating even 15 or 20 minutes of exploration, data that although the player saves later, the game will save at the previous checkpoint, canceling entire exploration sessions. On the contrary, towards the end of the game, the checkpoints are disproportionately large. Practically, every occlusion of an enemy is equivalent to a checkpoint. This will allow you to kill one enemy, target another, and if you miss the shot, you can restart from the last checkpoint without having to kill everyone you killed before making a mistake. I find this thing broken and absurd and I hope it will be resolved… Expand

    Graphically one of the best games I've played. I enjoy the gameplay and really don't find it that outdated, it's fun. The story I would say is fine, I understood what they were trying to do and I liked it, although I do wish they took a different direction I can't complain because I still loved the game.

    Personally, I think the game is a tense ride all the way through, and it had my insides all twisted up, but I really liked that, actually. It is an unforgiving and cathartic emotional experience, and I quite loved it. I am gearing up to play it again when my emotional reserves fill again. This game gave me closure the firsg one didn't, and I loved its ultimately hopeful ending.

    It was brutal playing as Ellie in that fight on the beach. I kept just backing away, as I felt that Ellie should realise that they both have lost people that they love, that they are both the same inside, and that all this retaliation is pointless. I guess she did in the end but it should have been before that fight when they were both on their knees. I know Ellie wants that final revenge that Abbey got with Joel, but Ellie forgave Joel (or at least tried to understand him) for stopping the Fireflies from killing her, did Ellie finally also resonate with Abbey's hurt, when it was almost too late? It's all so tough and heartbreaking for them all. I now want to follow Abbey and Lev after they leave on the boat. I'm sad that Abbey can't go and visit Owen in the Aquarium.    … Expand

The character development of the first part is destroyed, and the game just tries to make you upset. See, first game had a tough story but enjoyable, this is just a mess. Naughty Dog should hire more workers instead of doing crunch... but now is late for this game. What a pitty.

If you are looking to buy this game to continue the story of Joel and Ellie.....dont buy it as all your in for is about a quarter or a third of the game played similarly to the first one minus Joel then you watch him get murdered then they make you play as his killer in an attempt to make you feel for abby so you don't hate the ending that is ellie just changing her mind and not kill her. Whole game was about ellies revenge but she backs out......starts great ends poorly. Ps Metacritic - stop basing your scores off of sales figures. It got the sales because the 1st game was outstanding and we wanted to continue the journey with joel and ellie.....not watch it get twisted by feminists, that's why it got the low score not because people didn't play it.… Expand

    Despite the negative reviews, I'd give this game a 10/10. It talks about a lot of important issues, (Ellie being a lesbian for one) but i personally can relate to the Ellie and Joel relationship.

    Worth every peso i spent to get this game at launch

    Many people dislike the fact that Joel dies and the way he does. Of course I do, too. But if you were expecting a fairytale where everyone lives happily ever after, then you didn't even understand the ending of the first game.

    I think the main point people who dislike the game are missing is the parallel between Joel and Ellie's story and Abby's story.
    Don't get me wrong, I HATED Abby, but at least I understand the motives behind her actions. I think the game makes a great job putting things into perspective. She isn't just a mindless evil villain, who enjoys killing. She is also a daughter, a friend, a PERSON.
    Imagine she, her friends and her father were the protagonists of the first game. Then we would be rooting for them instead.
    It seems that people missed the similarities between Abby/Lev and Joel/Ellie, too... but I want to keep this review short, so find them yourself ;)

    Speaking of Joel and Ellie, I couldn't have asked for a more perfect way to develop their relationship after the ending of the first game. Those flashback-scenes are truly amazingly crafted tear-jerkers: beautiful, heartwarming and bittersweet.

    To sum things up and make a point, you should be open minded when playing this game. Don't expect some cliché narrative. Be prepared for some major twists and try to understand them.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So...this is hard for me. I had to pull back and look at this game objectively. Do I hate this game? No I do not. Do I hate things about it? Yes. Do I enjoy this game? I'm not hating on certain plot or characters specifically. However
    ...what I DO NOT like about this is how much time we spend with Abby. STOP!!! I dont dislike her character and I even loved playing with her at times. I do think we needed to spend more time with Ellie. The Ellie to Abbie ratio is off. Motivations were clear and understandable. I didnt care to play as Abby after she killed our beloved Joel. After that it felt like Abby was shoved in my face. But I justdidnt care. Joel should have died after we spent time with Abby and began liking her. Joel's death may have made sense on paper this way and I can even accept it. It was out of place here and was far too early. The game itself was almost copy and paste from the first one minus some small tweaks here and there. I dont understand the death threats and the super negative things posted. I love Naughty Dog. However I dont think I'm going to replay this one. Just due to the fact I know I wont spend time with Ellie and Joel. Maybe I could have grown to like Abby more if she didn't kill Jpel so early. I wanted to attach myself to Abby more but in the end I couldn't talk myself into it. I hate that I didnt love this one. Thanks for the effort Naughty Fog but this wasn't what any of us were expecting. And I mean that in the bad way. I know it's not the job to give us everything we want. I also think it is part of the job to take care of the characters. That unfortunately was not done. ....but I wholeheartedly think it's because of the reasons I listed.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
