    While i truly think TLOU 2 deserves an 8/10 i'm trying to help all the review bombing. This game isn't perfect like most Naughty Dog games but its still an enjoyable experience and i think anyone who liked the first game would enjoy this one.

    An astonishing achievement. The best kind of a sequel, where the story in the original game has now been enhanced and expanded upon in surprising ways. Shocking, wonderful and often startlingly brutal. PS4 has its greatest title.

    There is no other game like this at the moment. All the reviews that were based on a couple of leaks have no real weight in the context of rating this game's incredible technical achievements. Game design, level design, graphics, storytelling, characters and gameplay are unique and beautifully done.

    The game not for all.
    Maybe some people disapoint, because its not like Part one.
    But this game is amazing. Graphics good, but not amazing. Except situation whis amazings natute and sity views. Gameplay dont have some news. But in the last part I undestand that I loved it. Characters and story - that the reason of maximum score from me. Many people writing that final disappointed.    The game not for all.

    It's dark, heavy and emotional. It's a game that takes a lot of chances and hits in every way. The story is masterfully put together and entwines with the gameplay in a way that has you feeling all the emotions Naughty Dog wants you to feel. You will hate characters, love characters, then be forced to second guess your views on them, as well as the actions you've performed in the game. You will kill enemies out of necessity, then come to the realisation that you're killing somebody's loved one. This game does not care how you want things to go and it will drag you through this experience and it will do it violently.
    The violence in this game is brutal, but it's relevant and meaningful; it's not gore porn. Ellie is relentless, the world she is in and the enemies she's up against are relentless.
    This intensity adds to the already intense gameplay, you never feel like you're safe and you always feel like you just can't catch a breathe.
    I could go on and on about how amazing this work of art is; from the sound design, to the writing, to the acting, graphics, animations... I'll stop there.
    Quite easily one of the most intense, harrowing, emotionally draining experiences I've ever had in media, let alone video games. A masterpiece.    … Expand

    I like it. Does it honour the memory of the dirt game no. But it’s a great standalone. You’ll only really find bad writing here and there but the overall experience is great. The game succeeded as ND got you to feel emotion and the ones they wanted like anger hate and grief with occasional love and happiness. This game had the potential to be a lot and I mean A LOT better but it just wasn’t.

By the end, it's become clear that this world sucks and everyone in it is just a product of their experiences and actions. The Last of Us Part 2 builds on its predecessor in every way. By the end, it's become clear that this world sucks and everyone in it is just a product of their experiences and actions. The Last of Us Part 2 builds on its predecessor in every way. The combat, the story, the character development, the stealth are all perfected. Granted, about halfway through the gate you might have the sudden urge to stop playing. But if you stick with it, you'll be rewarded with one of the best conclusions to a story you'll experience. Before playing this game Red Dead Redemption 2 was my favorite single player story. .     I had loved the first one - This one goes beyond. It's visceral and you're gonna be tapped to your sofa for the 25-20h needed to compleet the story.
    The best PS4 game made ever (and I'm a fan of TW3 which is completely different by the way). I really don't understand at all the bad critics from users, the story is jsut insane and most of all the way they make you live it is just mindblazing.

Half of those reviews are from people who 'became numb to violence', when in reality they do not want to admit they are people with low empathy to begin with. By the end, I was still invested and NOT numb to violence. People want to be ****ing piss babies because it was not written with a perfect ****ing ending. Newsflash: life isn'tIf any review is from June 19, then they can **** off. Because you play as two different people, the contrast in play style between the characters is a nice touch. The graphics are outstanding, as are the physics and sound design, resulting in a very realistic feeling world.

    The story - Many reviews on here whine about being forced to play as Joel’s killer, stating “how are we supposed to feel sympathy for her” when she killed such a beloved character. They also state “this is nothing like the original story, no character depth, game of thrones, violence, etc”. Did they even play the same game, or were they just blinded by their nostalgia and put Joel’s character on a pedestal? Joel was not a good person at the end of The Last of Us. He did many **** up things, including murdering a doctor unnecessarily (which I remember being a big talking point when the game was first released, as it forces the player to do it despite many feeling it was wrong) and stops potentially the only possible cure from being developed. The point of that ending was that no matter how good Joel was to Ellie, he wasn’t exactly a “good” person in a lot of ways, no one is in the game. TLOU2 story was the most natural continuation of the story. Joel’s actions caught up to him, he traded his life for Ellie’s. You can be angry that they forced you to play as Abby, you can even choose to still dislike Abby after everything they show you about her, but you should at least be able to understand her. Abby is the monster in Ellie’s story, but Joel was the monster in Abby’s, and that is the point of this whole game. They force you to learn about Abby, about her life and her friends, just as they did for Ellie, to show that they were no different. They were human, not monsters, with their own lives and flaws that were occurring indiscriminate of each other. The parallel between Ellie and Abby is significant and understanding it is what’s most important for this game’s narrative. “But Abby was brutal and despicable, she beat Joel to death” yeah and Ellie tortured and beat Norah to death for Abby’s location. No one is a good person, but because players have put Joel on such a pedestal in their mind, they refuse to accept that he could possibly die in such a way. I don’t think anyone has to like all of the choices made, but to say this wasn’t a well told, character driven and developed story is ridiculous. It was expertly told and beautifully directed, and not one person can convince me otherwise.    … Expand

I literally need to take a break from my PS for like 3 days to process all my emotions. I have never play a game that made me feel like this before. As much as I want a revenge, at the end I don’t even want to kill Abby anymore, their obsession has literally cause them everything it was hard to watch. It can drained you psychologically. They not lying when they said they don’t use the word fun to describe this game lol.… Expand

    An amazing sequel and a game that you have experience. Be warned though that this game is not easily digestible. There is no fun in the traditional sense. There are no heroes in the world of the last of us.

    The vote says it all. it is just perfect there is not much to discuss STOP. I don't understand how one can go on so hard against such a title and caliber. My heart cries to see so many low marks and an average score of users standing at 4.6 ... be ashamed. That few open minds that are still there in 2020 for certain things. Rating 100. Play it, don't listen to this shower of low grades. Thanks.

    Graphics 10/10, The game experience has improved a lot.
    Ive enjoyed the history so much, in my opinion everything is correct, the LGBT "inclusion" or the Ellie and Diba's romance doesn't disturbe our adventure through this game.
    I can understand people who hated the game cause the early death of our beloved Joel, and also can understand the bad opinions to Abby. I hated too Abby when she killed Joel but, I saw her like a nasty assassin, but when I played hours with her on the flashbacks, I started to enjoy Abby. She really have a very good history, I like her relation with Owen and the journey with Lev (I loved this boy). It's difficult to love Abby, but I lied if I say she is a bad character or she destroy the history, because that's false.
    The final with Ellie and Abby in that dark beach is awesome, very hard, plenty of emotions. I that point of the history, the revenge has already not sense, so i liked they stop to fight (but to be honest I prefered to kill Abby, Ellie is my Ellie).
    The final with Ellie in the farm is strange, she lost everything she had and wanted cause de revenge. The last image, Ellie leaving the Joel's guitar make us a little confused, but I think is something that we can suppose or try to imagine...
    The best way to discover this adventure is playing, not believing the false reviews of people who are scared of play with an homosexual girl as main character or play with a strong woman.

    L'histoire de the last of us partie2 est INCROYABLEMENT ouf,les scènes d'action, les émotion ressentie sont folle, Joël meurt au début du jeux et et au moment ou elie trouve joel et que aby le tue nous nous trouvons dans le même état d'esprit que elie est nous avont tous eu des frissons et soifs de vengeance, a se moment la, elie par a la recherchede abby est plus l'histoire avance plus élie vas être amené a faire des choses horrible elle vas tué toute les personne sur sont passage(les ami de abby) pour trouvé abby est en finir mais, au cour de l'histoire on apprend pourquoi abby a tué Joël, dans the last of us 1 a la fin Joël se rend dans l'hôpital ou elie vas faire opéré pour espérer trouvé un remède mais cela l'aurait tué, joel s'étant attaché a elie decide de la sauver en tuant les chirurgien dont l'un d'eux est le père de abby, voilà pourquoi abby a tué Joël, la vengeance, je vais pas raconter toute l'histoire mais pour moi le jeux est une réussite et ne mérite pas un tel acharnement de 0 pour moi seul les personnes qui on joué au 1& au 2 et qui on compris peuvent donné leur avis est mettre une bonne note voilà    … Expand

I hated the choices made, I hated some of the characters, and at times it was hard to watch. But that was it's strenght too. Never have I clutched my controller as hard as this, never have I sobbed over a character dying like i did with this one, never have i been on the edge of my seat quite like this.

    Halfway through the game, when the switch is made, I wanted to throw her off a cliff. My friends and I joked how I just let myself get shot over and over and I was genuinely upset. How could they? I understood Abby's reasons but her method was just too much. They went too far and how was I ever going to sympathise with her. She went from being a hollow enemy to a character with depth, that even after finishing the game leaves me wondering what's next for her.

    I wasn't sure who to root for, i wasn't sure of anything.

    I think if a game can make a lot of people hate this strongly, you have to also see that it means that it's strong enough to cause such extreme emotions. This was a ride, and I'm sure i'll be thinking about it for a long while.    … Expand

    I havent finished the game yet, but I am about to. I am trying to avoid spoilers so things that I write wont be detailed here.
    First things first I will give the graphics - 9
    I encoutered a few unrendered objects etc or things that I could say there is better in the market todsy, but usually the grpahics are top notch and all the enviroment is very detailed like no other game.     Also there are many survival branches that you can upgrade and those choices can really suit to your playstyle or maybs even make you change it. There are Also many adaptations to the difficulty of the game and its not only about moderate or hard so its really nice because that way you are never bored there is always a challange.
    Story-want to givee 8 but and I am not sure yet. The game made me really connect to the characters. I love and I hate, I want revenge and I feel some times msrcy. And all the time is feel amusement by my actions. Without any spoilers I once rage quit the game because of a character I really hate. And its not about to say the story is bad and I dont want to play.,its about saying I really connected. The story is made up real good. It starts slow and it is not flashy and the and maybe if you will told the spoilers you will say its lame, but it is well written and slowly but steady makes you connected to it, it fun to playtrough it and discover more. to be honest I dont remember anybody said on god of war that its a lame story altough the main objective is to put the ashes of kratos wife in in the mountain.,because it was fun, it was exciting and yet suprising. The last of us is the same and I think that even better. Just come open minded about this game, dont give a **** about others opinion.     The thing which a lot of people hate is the plot and I understand why, but I don't support them, because I didn't wait the same story about relationships between Joel and Ellie as in the original game. The first twist maked me cry but not hate game only because of the death of great character. The story of TLOU 2 is very complicated and deep. If you want to feel this game fully, you should play on your own from the beggining to the end and without getting spoilers. It's sad that some people don't give this game the chance after the first twist. I really wish more people could feel this game as I feel. Moreover, I was suffering from depression for some days after I had finished game.
    This game is not only about redemption. It’s about self-hate. Ellie hates herself because she feel her guilt over her attitude toward her close person. The self-hate became hate to all world. Also, ND shows the path of degradation and evolution of the antagonist and protagonist and It’s amazing. It allows players to feel characters fully. I mean that how ND make the story about redemption is very creative and exciting. All I want to say that you can hate some events of the story, but you can’t deny its greatness.
    Gameplay is ideal, but there is no a lot of new features. ND didn’t create something new and incredible. Anyway, the gameplay is interesting and, what I like very very much, cinematic. Playing tlou 2 is like watching film due to amazing animations. I believe that games must be aimed at cinematic gameplay.
    And, of course, ND’s insane details which cost a lot of crunches, energy and nerves for developers.
    In conclusion, I would like to say again that The Last of Us Part 2 is the game which gamers can be proud of. Naughty Dog risked very much creating this plot, but, in my opinion, the result was amazing. Thank you, Naughty Dog for this experience. I am looking forward for TLOU 3 and new IP.    … Expand

Геймплей не сильно отстаёт от первой части, но само собой есть небольшие изменения что идут ей на пользу но многие фишки раскрываются только(возможно нет) на максимальном уровне сложности, из-за чего приходиться использовать весь инструменты, что дают разработчики. Про графон писать не буду,Мрачная, жёсткая и бескомпромиссная история о мести, трайбализма и что нельзя обезличивать людей. Геймплей не сильно отстаёт от первой части, но само собой есть небольшие изменения что идут ей на пользу но многие фишки раскрываются только(возможно нет) на максимальном уровне сложности, из-за чего приходиться использовать весь инструменты, что дают разработчики. Про графон писать не буду, кто видел тот и сам понимает, что это вышка для пс4. Игру я проходил часов 35 и это довольно много для сюжетоцентрированой игры, из-за чего ближе к 20-30 часов начинает утомлять. Хоть игра и зашла мне слабее первой части в плане сюжета, хоть он здесь и мастерски поставлен, но это всё равно круто.… Expand

    Просто великолепная игра 10 и 10, и точка. ЛГБТ капля в море, практически нет. По технической части просто вышка. Очень глубокий сюжет. Те кто ставят 0 - просто ненормальные.

    Love the game great story and graphics some parts of the story were saddening but i felt the emotion that i think the developers intended and may have relied on. No story is good without plot twists and things that make you feel angry, sad, happy etc.

Story is so COMPLEX, so complex that most people don't understand it... Someone could really take the story and make a movie, and it would be a great movie, I cant imagine why people are mad with the game, probably because of joel's death, 10 hours gameplay of abby, or the ending... but thats just stupid, joels death is the key to the journey, 10 hours of gameplay is to know the other perspective, the abby's perspective,if people dont want to know the reason of abby, they dont want to enjoy the game, the game is made to be dark, and give you the feelings of the characters,and they did it so well!!! and the ending is so damn complex that people who dont understand are still mad... For real, people who dont like the game is because they dont understand what a good game/story is...… Expand

    The music is very little present, which accentuates its presence during emotional moments. I think it's wanted from the studio.
    The gameplay is similar to the first, quite repetitive at times but for a game of thirty hours I never got bored. The AI ​​in the game is impressive, varying according to the difficulty chosen. Films or TV series should clearly be inspired by it. TLOU gives the characters such a great deal of humanity that it is said that everything is gray and not white or black. It certainly wasn’t the story I’d have wanted for the protagonists, but I appreciate the courage in what was delivered, it was definitely not the safe choice for a part 2, it was edgy, and thought provoking. The gameplay, audio, and visuals were everything I hoped for.

    The first game was mostly "us" (Joel, Ellie, and the player) against "them" (pretty much anyone who stood in our way). In the second game, we are compelled to consider the experience of someone who represents the worst sort of "them" - i.e. a nemesis of us. Switching that perspective is a **** it causes all sorts of uncomfortable cognitive dissonance. Attempting to understand, empathise with, bond with, even become the other side is difficult, and the difficulty of that challenge was the genius of LOU2 I think. We bonded with Ellie and Joel in Part 1, as they bonded with each other: we shared the same journey, so that by the end, regardless of where you would objectively sit on the "kill one to save the many" question, most of us could understand Joel's actions: they were what a father would do for his de facto daughter.

    How can we switch perspectives when we are so attached to our beloved protagonists from Part 1? Letting go of that bias and almost familial bond is hard, it feels unnatural and disloyal, yet I found it insightful to try.

    The Last of Us 2 was darker in so many ways: not just sinking to greater depths of brutality, but the glimmer of hope was immeasurably dimmer. Brutality breeds retaliation, and I appreciated watching that mirrored on both a micro (personal) and macro (faction) scale. I found the challenge of forging empathy for "them" real hard, and it made me so aware of how strong bias can be, how strong bonds for loved ones can be. I wanted Ellie to make better choices, but filled with survivor guilt, having only just begun her journey of trying to forgive Joel, only to have him brutally tortured to death in front of her... I can see why vengeance was easier than other ways of moving forwards.

    Tl;dr LOU2 for me was a challenge of empathy and perspective, giving me the opportunity to appreciate that the "us" story that so many games present comes hand-in-hand with the largely untold or superficially told story of "them", which that we seldom consider. That good and bad are often strongly influenced by perspective, it's easy to condone the bad actions of us, and easier on our conscience if we don't consider them too closely. For me that's something to consider not only in games and in many other aspects of life.    … Expand

    The writing, dialog and performances combined are possibly the best I've ever seen in a game, it's even better than most movies in the genre. I wish that this is what Walking Dead was more like, and kinda was in early seasons, but I digress. The writing has excellent pacing, weaving between sequences of intense action followed by much-needed respites, pretty perfectly balanced. Whether I was doing straight gameplay or essentially watching a movie section I was thoroughly engrossed throughout. And I really liked the character arcs, this game has interesting things to say that even sorta addresses criticism of certain thematic aspects of the Uncharted games. It turns things on its ear for its audience the way few games have, ever. And that is very good. And even on a moment to moment basis, this game was filled with so many "gotcha" moments and I hardly ever saw any of them coming. I love that in any movie or game.

    This is probably the best-looking game I've ever seen, there is so much detail and artistry packed into every corner of this game and it is simply massive! It would have been enough if the game was half as long but at 30 hours or so it's a highly satisfying length. To put that much detail into such a long game is unfathomable. And it seems like they maybe took a page out of God Of War by making a point to blend seamlessly between gameplay and cutscenes and weird hybrid gameplay-cutscenes. It's very effective.

    The gameplay is tight and fun, I was rarely frustrated with the controls. There are tons of ways to approach encounters and great depth and strategy. In these types of games I typically approach encounters in a boring way by sticking with one weapon or tactic the whole time, but with the chronically low ammo count per weapon you are forced to always mix things up which makes every encounter interesting, and when you pull it off, you feel like a right badass. And even when I'm in a section where I'm dying over and over again, each attempt hardly ever happens the same way twice, which is fun.

    Now that I finished I went back to look to see what everyone's fuss about regarding the story leaks and I can confidently say that it's all very unfounded and anyone who hated the ideas inferred in the spoilers, then played this masterful game, and still hates it, well... they are not using reason, but are blinded by emotion. And to everyone who is review-bombing the game who hasn't even played it (looking at everyone who posted reviews before it came out or only on the first day it came out) shame on you.

This is essentially a game about violence, and what violence brings forth. It is super uncomfortable, we finally have a mainstream game that really takes a closer look at violence, and the gritty and dark essence of it. And dont trust the leaks...

    All the supposed “plot holes” people are pointing out make me question if they even played the game, but it hardly matters because whenever someone logically tries to explain to them why something isn’t a plot hole you get shouted down by a bunch of people who are too caught up in their emotions to think rationally.

    Ironically, these same group of people would probably follow Ellie’s path of revenge in real life, too blinded by emotion to see what’s going on in front of them. 10/10 GOTY    … Expand

    An absolute astonishing achievement in story telling for any medium. It challenges any notion of what a video game can convey. The narrative is challenging to deal with but it evolves how a story can be told. It's not for everyone. But if you can appreciate having your heart broken in all the right ways, play this game.     Favourite gameplay moments

    These all came from Abby's half: Skybridge, Rat King in the hospital, fighting Ellie at the theatre. They took a lot of inspiration from Uncharted 4 and I love the new car chase and chaotic horse riding sequences.

    Story

    I understand how some would resent it when they were forced to play as Abby, someone who you're meant to hate as Ellie. But as I played through Abby's Day 1 (damn that was a long day), I started to develop empathy towards her and the people around her. I understood her actions and why she did what she did. It was no different to Ellie's revenge mission when she literally killed everyone in her path to get to Abby. It's a game about hate and the cycle of hate seems never ending. It's ironic that if Ellie chose to stay at the Farm after Tommy left, both Ellie and Tommy would've got what they wanted - Abby dead in Santa Barbara. The final fight with Abby on the beach was emotionally very raw and real. It was amazing and yet draining and painful to watch. But if Ellie killed Abby then it would defeat the purpose of what the game was trying to tell us. You need to break the cycle of hate. When Ellie remembered the night when she chose to start forgiving Joel, she also chose to let Abby go, therefore breaking that cycle.

    This game is a piece of art. Art that makes you feel all sorts of emotions, and think about it over and over afterwards probably means it’s a very good piece of art.

    I love this game and it will stay with me for a long time, just like Part 1 did.    … Expand

I want to support Naughtydog and pay my respects to whole team that made this masterpiece. This is truly the one of the best games in this genre I ever played and one of the best games period.     I don’t understand why the game is getting so much hate. It’s a lot of fun and it looks amazing. Not much more I want. I like the story. In the world that the characters live in it makes sense to me as to why the story does what it does. Would highly recommend.

    There have been many bad reviews and though i understand what some of them mean, the gross majority is dead wrong. This game is amazing. Story 9/10

    This is the best game in the last 5 years. Graphics, animation, music, and of course the plot are simply beyond praise. I would love to go through it again on ps5 to plunge even further into this world of rage, anger and violence. The game has only one minus that it is over. After this game, it will be difficult to seriously look at the projects of other studios. In no case do not watchThis is the best game in the last 5 years.     Brilliant game. Very like dialogs and the ending. New gameplay features made fighting scenes more dynamic and player ofenly have to change position.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
