    Looks great, but game play mechanics aren't the best they could have been, sounds are great, clickers are still scary to hear and not see. Story is where it falls flat, both new and old characters are just terribly written, and i found myself not caring for any of them in the end. Really lost interest in this series, most likely wont get the next.

    Phenomenal graphics and animation. However, the game is ruined by the horrible choice to tell a story of a petty revenge plot. I hate this story. I wish naughty dog did it 180* different. Thank you

    I do like it, I don't understand why people still putting hate on this game, I'm just saying is not the best game I've ever played, but I do respect the author of the game because this is how he wanted to end his game already knowing not all the players are going to like it.

    An emotional rollercoaster of a masterpiece! The developer should be commended for the brave choices they made with this sequels storyline. Went straight on to New Game + after completion.

    Although the game play was fun and engaging, the writing and story are sub par. A lot of emotional manipulation is attempted at the player, but it fails in the end, as characters motivations and decisions seem hollow.

    Best story ever written. Best characters ever created. This is the game what everybody must play not only watch a vod of a walkthrough. Strongly recommended, solid 10/10. I hope the upcoming series will be such good as the games, fingers crossed.

It does not deserve a zero only because of the story telling, which if you truly take a deep thought through it you will understand. The story as a whole is definitely a tragedy, but a extremely beautiful one. Naughty Dog did a great work on controlling players emotions, even though I do agree that some parts might be too aggressive and hard to accept. I’d give this game a 10, considering the story or not. Because the Naughty Dog team had created the one of the greatest game with atmosphere and a sense of realistic among those PS4 era games. Whether people like the story, the team definitely deserves an A+ on bringing these small details to life. Another thing I’d like to mention is the technology of facial detection in this game. Joel and Ellie’s conversations are the most realistic and emotional experience I’ve ever had in my 10 years of gaming. In the end, I would say that I definitely recommend you to play this game even though I know that there is many negative reviews and critics on the internet about it. But try to experience it yourself, it is going to be a whole different story.… Expand

    trash game filled lgbtq garbage will never touch this game ever again. Neil drunkman and naughty dog killed this franchise and is in complete under the water. If there's a 3rd miss me! I won't be interested whatsoever. So I give this game's score a 0 I have never played a game that i hated my whole life before. This is no masterpiece or a game of the year its an L of the year.

    I have to say something about the negative reviews. There are some that are clearly just angry that there are LGBT characters. Then there are those who claim to be upset about the story, and give the game a score of 3 or less... it is ridiculous reason to give a game of this quality such a low score because the story isn't perfect (to you). There are games with patently awful but still fun, and if they lose points, they lose only a few. Don't like the story? Give it a 7/10. Really don't like the story? You're crazy — because it is fantastic — but OK, give it a 5/10. Don't like the story because a main character dies? Grow up, you loved that in Game of Thrones. Giving it a 3, or a 2, or a 1, shows that criticism of the story is nothing but thinly veiled homophobia.    … Expand

    This game is an absolute slap in the face to the previous title. Everyone at naughtydog should be ashamed. The story is completely divorced from reality, pandering to flavour of the month "woke" politics instead of progressing from the original. This game will be forgotten, unless you need an example of the fall of a once great game. I got a refund thank goodness, sorry to anyone who couldn't.

Although simple at it's core, the game still allows for a massive array of outcomes and choices to affect how encounters will unfold, leaving every little element of gameplay in the player's hand.

    I highly recommend that, despite the mostly negative player reviews, you listen to the critics on this one. It truly is a fantastic work, blending art with entertainment to provide a mesmerizing experience.

The game graphically is excellent and the gameplay better much, it is intense the game play, the problem is the story because they have just killed the legacy and a whole community of fans that I love the first installment, in first the script has story hollow mucjos, the script without consistency, many biological things in it and killing Joel and killing Joel , the most beloved and intelligent protagonist dies of the worst possible forms at the hands of Abby that you would use later in it, but the character is annoying. Graphics are one of bigger improvements when it comes to the previous game, however I and some others have noticed visual bugs like weapons overlaying with one another or some objects like crates or cargo visuals not loading in cause you are too far away...but you are using a sniper any you can't even see those visuals with that if they are far away, resulting in you thinking you missed a shot but you actually hit an "invisible cargo" or something similar to it.
    Sountracks and sound effects are very well made and fit the atmosphere. That is one improvement compared to the first game that I can give with an ease.
    Enemies are also well designed. Humans call each other by name and are somewhat smart when it comes to scouting and trying to eliminate you. I also like the fact that there are many ways of taking an enemy out and visuals of that are very well made.
    Story wise is definitely not this games best side from my perspective. Characters in game felt like they were making irrational decisions or were doing an opposite of what they did before for no well given reason. Their designs are well made and you do end up caring for them (as long as they didn't do something to make you not care for them, which does happen for some). Which is a shame since for most of them when they are done with their part in the story, it doesn't leave you with any satisfaction. Like they were just there for the sake of being there, not contributing to the main story whatsoever.
    So short to say: Gameplay was ok, sound was awesome, graphics were improved, foes were alright, story was poor and so were the characters.    … Expand

In the first The Last of Us we were told the story of a post-apocalyptic world provoked by a pandemic that almost killed humanity (The Cordyceps fungus was passed from insects to humans and the latter became Zombies) the story is centered 20 years later and we control Joel Miller who witnessed and survived the outbreak losing his only daughter in the event, 20 years later Joel is in charge of escorting a girl (Ellie) who developed immunity to the infection, both must go through a hostile North America and not only must be fought with the different infected (Zombies), but there are groups of people who fight for resources and their own survival, Along the way, Joel and Ellie, controlled by the player, create a wonderfully developed bond through a solid script that provokes in the player an affinity and affection for the characters (that was the good thing about the first TloU, that despite being a video game, the story is told as if the player is the one who develops the story as it progresses), all these details made The Last of Us Part 1 one of the best video games in history and a reference in this industry, That's why the expectations for this second installment were very high, but after finishing this videogame (almost 50 hours) I feel that they completely ruined the legacy of the first installment, unfortunately videogames with a cinematic cut if they lack a good story the playable factor is completely left out and in this case it's an absolute narrative disaster; it lacks absolutely everything that made its predecessor great and its worst sin is to force the player during the middle of the game to control a character which is impossible not to hate. This is done with the purpose of "understanding" their motivations and provoking "empathy" and in this way justifying their actions which the game NEVER does, not to mention that this part of the story along with its secondary characters do not generate any interest, what they tell leads nowhere except to place the characters for the convenience of the story in a specific point all this added to the linearity of the game makes the game too long and ends up being tedious (I lasted several days without playing this part and I almost decided not to finish it) they would have saved this second half and nobody would have missed it, To top it off, the script destroys Joel (literally) by ruining all the good things that the character had in construction in order to give Ellie the absolute leading role, the message is clearly perceived "Let's finish with the father figure, in this progressive world there is no room for heteropatriarchy" in this way they took out of the equation one of the best characters created in the last years and not content with that the ending is the most anti-climatic thing I have seen in a long time (it doesn't lead anywhere, it doesn't leave the established characters, it doesn't even take the trouble to leave the doors open for a third installment. ..
    Frankly I didn't feel like repeating the game and if I did it would be in a very distant time...

    A final observation which I must make so that stones rain down on me is the FASTIDOSOS! that are being put in with the forced inclusion, and to detail this I must mention the main characters:
    Ellie - Lesbian (from the first game it was known and it didn't bother in the least but they already abused the rest of the characters
    Dina - Bisexual
    Lev - Transgender man
    Abby - of the main characters she is the only heterosexual woman and she is tomboy at best (those arms are only taken out by steroids and in a post-apocalyptic world it should be very difficult to get those kind of supplements)
    I better not tell you what happens to male, straight characters.
    This is not inclusion, it is imposition and the only thing that all this achieves is REJECTION, nowadays it is respectable that every individual decides about his sexual orientation or his gender identity and it is good to give them notoriety but we are reaching a point where they want to put everything into the brave, that is not the method, the imposed tolerance does not stop being indoctrination.    … Expand

    Graphics are great, the game runs most of the time in a very good way. Unfortunately there are a few error in the coalition points to interact with objects and the environment, which make it necessary some times to change your position, move forward and back, get on your knees or play with camera to be able to interact with stuff, it is pretty annoying some times, but it is not such a big deal. Even with some weak aspects (as everything in a complex lore such this one), the story is interesting and have the great advantage that is not a fanservice story, what lead you to feel and experiment new possibilities, get a long with some characters, hate other ones and get to know motivations and even empathize with some of them. This is the kind of videogame you really need to play to be able to understand and literally feel the story videos sequences, because a very complex and complete videogame whose experience is unique and is made by a whole thing: music, graphics, story and gameplay.
    I think, Naughty Dog made it again: a perfect synergy between a game and a story that need to play and feel by yourself.

The gameplay, graphics, assassinations, details, AI, are all magnificent. Even for my 1st gen Ps4, man the game looked gorgeous. Now for the cons... I really wanted to love this game.... It’s a love& hate type of relationship... look I don’t care about the LGBTQ+ characters or woman agenda because that’s not the issue here.. the issue here is THE STORY... and how they executed it... they could’ve set it up to be a trilogy.. but what did ND do? They shot my beloved character’s leg off with a shotgun and beat the living snot out of him with a club... only to play as her for 10+ hours when the story climax was at its peak and bam! I’m playing as Abby on day 1? Do I see myself playing this game again? Maybe... I choked up when I heard Joel’s agonizing pain.. Now that I know how the game ends... it’s utter Bs...… Expand

The game is a once in a life experience, people usually don't like games when they are not the thing that they don't expected, but The Last of Us Part 2 is a innovating histories. Being real brave Naughty Dog tries to come with the cliche revenge history but bringing with it a total controversy, showing the villain side of the story, the courage to show to the players that the villain is not a bad person and neither the hero, brings to the players, that had empathy, a total shake of feelings of sadness and guilty, by knowing that both Abby and Ellie shouldn't die or suffer no longer at the end.
    The game brings the same gameplay, but improved, making a game adapt to the new players. The AI in the game has been improved in a way that you can fell the blame of killing someone and really getting into this apocalyptic world. The game brings new and unicc enemies that give the gameplay diversity and more immersion. The contrast between Serafits and Wolfe's make the fitting in the game seems more realistic and heavy to you to play.
    The game brought so much controversy because of the people who don't like homosexual representative on games and by the people who couldn't have empathy for Abby and just thought that showing her side wouldn't make them like her, but like the famous dictate "The villain, is the hero of his Story".    … Expand

The only good things I can say are the graphics were great, and the guitar was fun to mess around on.     Highly amazing game in terms of visuals only. Combat is pretty decent but mainly follows the originals which isnt broken. The story is where it falls flat for me. Very poor writing and terrible pacing. Narratives and plot points aside it was just a very underwhelming game. 6/10

    Not liking the events of a story does not mean that the story is bad. This game is the best thing I've ever had the pleasure of playing, fantastic in every way. It is courageous, complete, captivating, exciting, a piece of art ... A true milestone for the gaming industry and a lesson for other developers on how to create an AAA experience.

    False advertising, garbage story, lots of plot holes and contrivances, main characters being retconned, humilliated and/or killed. The ending brings you down, not up. It's all gone, there's nothing left anymore. It ruined everything this IP is and was.

    Graphics are great tho.

    I think the story is awesome and amazing.Even when you play as Ellie's nemesis.i will recomend this game to people.people is upset because what happen but that what makes into a amazing story.The first one is still my favorite one but part 2 is still good.

    Graphics are great, sadly graphics don't make the game great. The story (which the original did great) is terrible. Gameplay is lacking heavily especially around stealth. What kind of game, motion captures and digitizes the lead designer for a sex scene???

    Missed a 10 of 10 because film grain on 4k Oled tv makes me mad. Everything else is just perfect. I enjoyed 35 hours of that beautiful and catching game.

You can easily tell this was written by someone different than the original. I am now finding it difficult to enjoy any other story-driven game since completing this. Everything about this game is so far beyond the rest of the industry; from the complexity, non-linearity and depth in story-telling and dialogue, to the graphical achievments including quite honestly, the most accurate animation and physics in any video game I've seen.

    The story feels more mature than the first game, mirrored by the beautiful soundtrack by Gustavo Santaolalla, and further expands upon the world of The Last of Us whilst still tethering itself to the narrative and characters of the first game by continuing the story of Ellie and Joel, now residing in a settlement in Jackson after the ambigious ending of its predecessor. The timeline begins roughly 4 years after the first game, but due to its non-linear format, we jump around events amongst that 4 year period, discovering more details about the character relationships as well as the world in general. The story is bleak and grounded in the reality of human behaviour. It is far more effective at conveying the complexities of emotion than even the first game with the use of detailed journal entries throughout, and fantastic performances specifically from Ashley Johnson (Ellie) and Shannon Woodward (Dina).

    The gameplay is based on the same style as the first game, with major improvements in movement and an incedibly enjoyable combat system, alongside updated crafting systems that allow for far more creative approaches to stealth and fighting. The puzzle solving aspect of the first is slightly more subtly implemented and is more often than not tied to exploration than story progression - eg. breaking a window to gain access to an area with a lootable code used to crack a safe, or to find and collect one of the many trading cards.

    The plot holes I have seen many state are either completely non-existent or only visible under the microscope of those weighing this game to an unfair and hypocritically higher standard than almost any piece of media I have ever heard or seen. I utterly despise unnatural, heavy-handed writing - to the point of labelling myself pretentious in my consumption of entertainment - yet at no point did I feel anything being forced in my face during this game. "This character would never have done this or that" arguments can be absolved by simple fact that - between the first game and this one - everything is there that says entirely differently.

    The only criticism I have is that I feel some of the gameplay sections in the second third of the game could have been shortened, possibly removed, and the cutscenes would have sufficed.

    Recommendations before playing Part II:

    - Play the first game
    - Play Left Behind DLC
    - Watch the 'Grounded: The Making of The Last of Us' documentary (on YouTube)
    - Try to play Part II as soon as possible after finishing those three.
    - Drop your expectations of how you want Part II's story to go and experience it as 'this is the events that occurred' instead of battling with 'how it should've been'.

    Quite frankly, I find it hard to give the game anything but 10/10 because I cannot think of a single game that comes remotely close to this level of story-telling and all round impressiveness. This is a must-play if you like entertainment and video games driven by good stories, because this one's by far the most affecting experience in a game I've ever had.    … Expand

Игра как и всё что есть в мире не идеально ,но это то что подобралось к нему очень близко. Единственный конкурент на игру года - Cyberpunk 2077, надеюсь она тоже оправдает все ожидания.     Not only it make me play as a new unredeemable character for 10 hours, but it also make Ellie unlikable. While the new one shown to be kind, pet dogs, her dad’s animal lover, love kids....Ellie is just edgy grim dark teen with potty mouth now.     Yes, Im a Fanboy of TLOU, but I can't nor will I ever except this piece of Crap.

    But firstly let me go on to the ''GOOD'' Points of the Game:
    - Exceptional Graphics
    - Nice Combat System
    - Beautiful designed Landscapes and Areas
    - Nicely Exhibit Bossfights

    And now to the ''BAD'' Points:
    - Utterly **** Story
    - Trash Story telling
    - Bad Charakter Development
    - Unexplained death of Joel; well not unexplained but with no **** Connection to the Game
    - No new type of Zombies
    - ''Jumpscares'', which aren't even scary just annoying
    - And... And... And...

    Well to shorten this up. The Good points are only the Graphics and the Beautiful Game design.
    Everything else ist just Bad. You feel how this Game is a Product of Bad Storywriting and no Love for TLOU nor for the Fans. The Start feels very refreshing. You see known Faces and some Story input. Learn the Basics and so on. Even after you played Abby and switch back to Ellie, it is all Good.
    Then it happens, Joel died, I was heartbroken, didn't play for 3 Days. But then I thought, if you get so heartbroken about a character, they did something good. They aren't idiots which would kill the ''MAIN'' character just to have a sequel, but MAN I was wrong. The Story pretty much started crumbling. It was just hatred and dark. No fun just going through, till I see a nice Landscape and enjoy the view a bit. After couple of hours I slightly started enjoying the GAMEDESIGN. And I only played it like a Game form the Genre: Zombie etc. . Here and there I got hocked by the story but nothing much.

    Then it happened, we have to play ABBY for 10 skin Hours. WTF!!!
    I was fuming but, thought about it and said, who know, maybe you see something you can relate about and aren't that pissed about here that she killed Joel.
    But no, every hour that passed I hated it. After 2 Hours, I started not to Loot, not to stealth and not to kill anyone. I just rushed through every Game''level'' and wanted an end. This Part I had to play in 5 Days. It felt like I was working or something, no fun, no nothing. It felt dry, with no love. Like the Producer threw in a Part written by some Frats, which partied 3 Weeks with no Brain or interest for TLOU.

    The End and where Abby looses everything, has no Context. It is just there.
    Tommy evolved into an **** at the End... I don't even want to write about it anymore.

    Im Happy that the Game End, I want my money back. EVERY SINGLE CENT. I want back the 77 years I waited for TLOU 2. I want back my hopes and Ideas I had for this Game. I want back every thing. I want to forget this miserably Game. Please delete it. Or bring out a Part 3, where you show that Ellie wakes up from a Dream and TLOU 2, was the BAD BAD Dream. And then you give us the real Story what happened. Im not even pissed that Joel died. It is just how and why he died.

    WORST GAME EVER!!!!
