    Probably my new favourite game of all time! Simply amazing! Flawless! Mature story which forces you through a maelstrom of emotions and hard hitting events. A story that only the emotionally mature will fully apprecaite, and will butthurt rage kiddies.

    Graphics are awesome but as a narrative game it failed in everyway and gameplay wlkese all characters feel the same and plays the same as the first one, except 1 or 2 new gimmiks... It feels like a gamble the devs took and they lost.

    I've gone through quite a few hundred games over the last decade and a half and i can say this wholeheartedly, the greatest masterpiece to ever graze a console. It's a shame the gaming community cant acknowledge the greatness of it due to unfounded butthurtedness. Play it, enjoy it, remember it.

    I hope one day ill be able to play this with my future kids.

    I just feel the way Ellie went. I would go the same way even if it's bad. One thing I didn't like was that you need to play Abby too often. But expect this it's one of the best games I ever watched.

    Very weak gameplay, cliche and uninteresting. Story is good howeve there are better stories in movies and you just lose 2 hours of life. Don’t recommend it.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I was absolutely disappointed to see how Naughty Dog and Sony traded quality story writing to shoehorn a leftist agenda. Firstly, my biggest issue is with the killing of Joel Miller, the protagonist in the main game. By killing him so quickly and so early in the game, it seems that everything he's done in the first game was for nothing and that his sacrifice for Ellie and her potentially life saving immunity was for nothing. Naughty Dog clearly went for shock value over what could have been a better ending for Joel. Gamers have seen games where their favorite protagonist or mentor has died yet no other game has had such a backlash to the writers/company from their fans like this game. What made it more insulting is that we were forced to play as Abby, a woman who has the body of a man and was written to fit a more feminist audience. Oh and before I get called misogynist/sexist/etc. I had no problem with Ellie and Riley's relationship in the previous game as well as the possibility of Bill being gay. My issue is that the writers focused more on virtue signalling and shoving their politics down our throats in this game. In terms of Ellie's story arc, it doesn't make sense how she could kill hundreds and even brutally murder people like Nora and Jordan and take pleasure in doing so, yet hesitate when she finally finds Abby (the one who orchestrated this Joel's death and leader of the WLF/former Fireflies who helped find/kill Joel.) Jesse's story wasn't flushed out and neither were the Wolves/Scars. They were just place holders to add action and fill in spots during Ellie/Abby's story. Yara's story basically was only to bolster and add background to Lilly's. The whole Scars vs. Wolves drama was just a generic faction vs faction story to introduce characters but were simply scrapped once the story finally got rolling. Abby's body is definitely not realistic (and I use that term loosely since it is a video game - but not a video game where there's super powers/supernatural powers). Yeah there's a gym and the WLF has a garden/well stocked food supply but literally NO OTHER woman in that game was as buff as Abby. Even in the scene where her and Owen did it, her pecs were bigger and more manlier than the guy she was sleeping with. During the entire game, the writers tried to make us gamers and fans try to sympathize by killing Abby's friends/crew but with each subsequent killing, we felt happier, not sadder. They make Micah Bell from Red Dead Redemption 2 seem more likable. The Rattlers appearing as the final and surprise faction in the last part of the game also felt like more filler. There were barely and interactions with them in terms of story (other than the beginning) and they had no major role other than to be some rogue group that is hostile for no reason as compared to the military vibe from the WLF, the cult vibe from the Scars and the seemingly good guy vibe from the Fireflies. To add insult to injury, when the leaks came out, ND and Sony blatantly abused the copyright system on Youtube, Twitter, etc. for people who simply talked about the game (even if they did not reveal any audio/visual/pictures from the company through a shady 3rd party company (Muso). They tried to silence and dissent and even punish/block people who gave negative reviews as well as ignored criticisms/negative comments on the game, yet have the guts to only screenshot the hostile comments without showcasing the legitimate criticisms from the community. It doesn't take too much to see how this turned out. Just check out the Last of Us 2 reddit page. See how it was so supportive and interested in the game and then once the leaks came out, see how they reacted and treat the game today. Neil Druckmann and Anita Sarkessian have no one to blame but themselves for trying to force a terribly written story with a far leftist/feminist agenda onto the fans who were loyal to the company and series. It just doesn't make sense how ND had so many awards and accolades backed by their amazing list of games that are usually well written and have high scores yet this game is significantly lower than their average score for other games they've put out. However, in terms of gameplay, there are a lot of improvements to the fluidity of the game as well as creativity as compared to the last game yet the gameplay was generic in terms of pattern (explore, loot, some dialogue/notes/artifacts to collect, fight/sneak past infected/people, repeat.) They didn't even include a multiplayer feature which arguably kept their first game alive and relevant years after it released just to focus on a poorly written game with a generic gameplay formula that rivals that of Call of Duty's same old formulas. The only good parts were the improved game mechanics, beautiful graphics and some nice features such as playing the guitar during your downtime. Overall the story was bad, gameplay generic (only better when compared to the old game) and politics ruined this game.… Expand

    Tremendos gráficos, las mejores animaciones de la generación, gameplay muy pulido, gran doblaje, buen soundtrack, historia emotiva con momentos memorables, acción, suspenso. Un juego redondo.

    Average gameplay but the story is horendous. They ruined Joel's character, Ellie's actions are meaningless and overall the world feels empty. Kill 200 people including a pregnant woman to reach Abby only to let her go. Sure, who cares about all the other people eh?

This is not for everyone, it’s not the walking dead or a Marvel movie, which I feel is what some people use as a base for character analysis. The soundtrack is epic the way the game looks is truly beautiful and the story was intense, we loved it more than the first one to us this felt more real and at times we loved and hated both characters for wh,at they did, at one point we even discussed if Joel was the villain! . Seriously though what a game and experience however we decided on 9/10 because at some bits we felt grabbing resources out of drawers and off the sides was a little to much this time around and slightly took away from the flow of things, for us anways, but it more than made up for it in other areas.… Expand

    This game is just a masterpiece. The attention to detail is unreal. The hate this game gets is not deserved at all in my opinion. Loved the game, the creators of this game are genius...

    The Last Of Us games are the only games I´ve ever played that made me feel so many emotions during the gameplay. It´s amazing, give it a chance.

    First let me just say, hats off to ND for the incredible graphics. The graphics of this game is one of a kind. Gameplay wise I think it was above average. Nothing too different from the first one.

    But the story was a failure to me. I know ND tried something different with the story but it just didn't click with me. At some point I just wanted the game to be over because I grew tired.

First off this game is absolutely gorgeous and the gameplay is awesome but when it comes down to what the human spirit longs for that this game painfully lacks, is HOPE. I don’t recognize the characters I once loved from the original masterpiece. Being forced to try and kill one of the main characters that I dearly loved after seeing the other one murdered left me feeling depressed. At the end of this game you are left feeling dark and hopeless, stripped of any joy and love left. The human spirit needs hope especially in a time where the world feels dark and uncertain. I say this with respect to the naughty dog team and appreciate my opinion being heard. I hope we get a better game from this amazing team next time around!… Expand

I'm fully aware that this game had a feminist working on a multiple feminists actually except the feminist movement has been turned into a communist movement I'm a big student of history as well I know what the communists did to the feminist after they took over Russia they shot them in the head. This game has a beautiful soundtrack incredible graphics for the PlayStation for but it is one of the most evil sick perverted degenerate games I've ever played in my entire life. This is not a game it is what the feminists wanna do to all men kill 'em all. There is no story here worth listening to. Those of us who are giving this game low scores understand we are not review bombing it were just telling you the honest truth.     After years of waiting for a sequel, this is probably the worst game out there. You can dislike a game for its lack of luster but this blew that out of the water.
    The reason why so many people hate this is because it does not offer anything, aside from **** story and horrible characters. No sentimental attachment to amyone. This is trash.

    This game is stunningly beautiful, has a wonderful soundtrack, amazing performances by the voice actors, and fun, if not great or innovative gameplay. In these aspects, this game is an absolute step up from The Last of Us. However, the story fails to satisfyingly continue from where the previous game ended. Joel's final decision simply didn't need a continuation, as it left the player toThis game is stunningly beautiful, has a wonderful soundtrack, amazing performances by the voice actors, and fun, if not great or innovative gameplay. In these aspects, this game is an absolute step up from The Last of Us. However, the story fails to satisfyingly continue from where the previous game ended. Joel's final decision simply didn't need a continuation, as it left the player to decide if they agreed with themselves. Part 2, instead of analyzing how it would have changed the relationship between Joel and Ellie, turns into a revenge plot, that is both miserably dreary, and boring.
    The problem is not the LGBTQ++ representation, in fact Ellie and Dina's relationship is the best part of the game. The problem is that this game could have been much more, its message could have been told in a much more creative way.
    Normally, I'd say TLOU Part2 is a good, honest try, but knowing what went down behind the scenes, and the absolute ego that is Neil Druckman, i can not. as much as the story of the game, the story of its development leaves a sour taste.    … Expand

    Si buscas jugarlo por su historia mejor no lo compres pero si buscas jugabilidad es buena opcion. No me parecio muy bueno el rumbo de la nueva historia y como resulto la muerte de Joel. El primer juego fue muy bueno por la historia que nos narran con Joel y Ellie cosa que se perdio en esta segunda parte.

    She has bad motivations compared to Joel
    Joel saved Ellie for not accepting grief and not to lose his responsibility he has had to protect while Abby was losing loved one she had nor responsibility only memories to cause grief.
    This makes us still care more about Joel with also we have alot of screen time and over years learn more and love him as an icon while Abby butchers him no care even though he SAVED HER LIFE with no hesitation.And Ellie lets her live when I believe Joel wouldnt since she nearly killed her brother tortured him through pain killed him torture and hurt Ellie and killed friend(s) and more and eat some of her hand like wow really smart.Also Joel falls for obvious trap I think shouldve if they did it this way have built up.Also Abby neevr regerets like Ellie when she kills like Joel and we should like her.Also she dosent thank Ellie for saving her and sort of Sam but Ellie prob didnt thank her last time cause she was fine with killing her wife basically Abby is the wrostthing of this game and also they try so hard to make you feel bad for Abby when she dosent care who she hurts when shes mad unlike Ellie very smart but thats my main only big issue other than nitpicks and also Ellie character feels so different that takes awhile for you to grow on her.Also Abby dieing would've improved it to 8 stars for me.Also she tortures Joel who saved her and thinks he deserved more pain even her friend was like the -- got what he deserved like wow I really care for these **** there is great mirroring to the original.But Abby being Joel that boy being Ellie if it was just that 0/10 wanted to break ps4 buy it on disc so you can sell or trade think so can get some money since it isn't worth digital at all.     Although the story didn't go exactly the way I wanted, it had me enthralled and completely invested. The gameplay was fantastic and I enjoyed every minute of it. Sound design, visuals, and voice acting all massively enhanced my experience.

    The game play is the best you've ever seen. The story is good but it's nothing compare to the first part. Although it was a ballsy move for Naughty Dog to not even make another game of the Last of Us, but also to make this story that is filled with sadness, anger, confusion, and brutality as it should be, but I have to say that the story was NOT really what we wanted.

    -To preface this review,Congratulations to the Naughty dog team on a great game. My excitement for this game was through the roof ever since it's reveal back in 2016. I preordered, got the special edition controller and more.
    My excitement accelerated when part 2 was released and we see the seasoned Joel and Ellie. I was thrilled to see what the story was going to hold. I had heard about the big storyline leaks and made sure I did not read any of it so I did not spoil anything. I had heard that the story revolves around Ellie getting her revenge. Early trailers of part 2 showed glimpses of Ellies new love interest, Dina. I thought the story was going to follow Ellie avenging Dina's death or something along those lines. I was certainly not expecting Joel to die. Especially after the 2016 reveal trailer where Ellie is looking for revenge while Joel is already in the scene. I wonder what the original storyline contained. I was really looking forward to playing as Joel again and seeing his and Ellie's relationship continue to grow. It was sad but I respected the direction that they decided to go with the game.
    When I first started playing as Abby I was somewhat annoyed. I immediately just wanted to go back to playing as Ellie as the audience has grown to love her. I didn't even bother looting with Abby as I thought I surely wouldn't be playing as her for long so what's the point. I was mistaken.
    I understand that Abby's side of the coin was important to the progression of the story, I just wish it didn't take so long. It felt like the game was divided 50/50 between Ellie and Abby when I wish it was more like 75% Ellie and 25% Abby. I have waited so long to play as Ellie and just got annoyed whenever that got taken away from me. I really wanted to enjoy playing as Abby but at the end of the day I was just waiting to go back to Ellie.
    I was a little confused about the ending. I might be missing something but I don't understand why Ellie had such a big problem with killing Abby after she has killed hundreds of other people that got in her way. Perhaps she feels bad cause Joel killed Abby's Dad? I'm not quite sure.
    The gameplay was solid. The graphics and audio amazing. The stealth was great in this game, my only strife with it was it began to get a little repetitive with sneaking up on enemies and performing the same takeout method over and over again. The gunplay was awesome! The enemies didn't feel like they were a sponge and when you shoot them with a shotgun, you definitely feel it.
    Despite what all the negative reviews say, I still loved this game. I think everyone is exaggerating because they enjoyed the first game so much and wanted to keep playing as the main characters. The bar was set so high in part 1 so it is easy to see why everyone is upset.
    Upon completing part 2 I am left feeling truly very sad (did not think I would say this about a video game). The story was amazing and it sucks to be finished it. To make it worse, I don't really see what they could do for a part 3 so the series could be finished for good for all we know.
    I have never been so emotionally invested in a video game as I was with The Last of Us part 1 and 2. The Naughty dog team should be praised for their outstanding work in the franchise.    … Expand

    I never had such conflicts and emotions in me before when I played a computer game, maybe only in the first part, but not as extreme as in this part.
    For me it was one of the best games I have ever played and I congratulate Naughty Dog and everyone involved in this project on this masterpiece.
    I never actually write game reviews, but because of the many bad reviews about this great game, I felt obliged to do so.
    I don't understand why this game causes so much hatred and disappointment.
    Perhaps most players weren't ready for this kind of hard story, but please, this game is set in a hell of a world where anything can happen to anyone. I mean, what do you expect everything will be fine and everyone will stay alive until the end, like in most game and movie stories?

    The game is incredible, the graphics and the animations are incredible, considering that is running in a ps4, and the story is not the best but it's still a really good one and I liked the way they tell the story, it has a few mistakes but nothing that ruins the game experience. Definitely an enjoyable game.

    it's an awesome, right from the start to finish, gorgeous graphics, the music wasn't as memorable as the last one but it gives punches when needed. The story is quite good it keeps wanting you to know more, I think the ending needed a bit more punch but it was great.....overall, this game it's worth every penny!

As IGN put it, "There’s no such thing as a truly perfect game, but those that earn a Masterpiece(10/10) label from IGN come as close as we could reasonably hope for." This game has its flaws, for example, how Abby just happens to run into Tommy and Joel while they're on a patrol and the completely gratuitous sex scene between Abby and Owen, but I believe that the pros outweigh the cons 1000-1.

    What can I say about The Last of Us Part II that hasn't already been said? It's an emotional rollercoaster, filled with happy moments, sad moments, and oh-my-God-you-can-pet-the-dog moments. One of the biggest twists, and the inciting incident that causes Ellie to go on a killing spree across Seattle, is Joel's death. This was one of those sad moments. At first, I couldn't believe my eyes. Joel is a resilient person who's been through so much to get to this point. I mean, he survived for 25 years in a **** zombie apocalypse. I wouldn't last a day! When I first saw that cutscene with Ellie on the floor, begging Abby to stop before she delivers the final blow, I thought, "He can't be gone, he just can't. He'll be back. He's still alive, he's gotta be." Even after seeing his grave, I still thought he was somehow alive. But seeing his empty house with his jacket, his revolver, and that framed picture of him and Sarah made it final. He was gone. No death in any book, TV show, movie, or game has ever impacted me as much as this one did, and here's why. The Last of Us Part I took the player on a journey with Joel. we got to control him as he shivved clickers, slaughtered Hunters, and massacred an entire damn hospital of Fireflies armed to the teeth. We grew to love Joel, so when he died, it was heartbreaking, at least for me. As tragic as his death was, I wouldn't change as second of it.

    I believe a lot of people's trouble with the game stems from Abby's section, so I'll address how I felt about it. Halfway through the game, Abby finds Ellie's hideout. She kills Jessie and threatens to kill Tommy if Ellie doesn't drop her weapon. Ellie complies and says, "I know why you killed Joel. He did what he did to save me. There's no cure because of me. I'm the one that you want." Abby points the gun at Ellie, saying, "We let you both live, and you wasted it." Then, we cut to black, and we play a flashback section where we find out Abby's motive for torturing and killing Joel. Jerry Anderson was Abby's father and a neurosurgeon who worked for the Fireflies. He was the one that drew the scalpel on Joel when he went into the operating room to save Ellie. Joel, of course, kills him, leaving Abby fatherless. Even after learning this, I still hated Abby. She killed Joel, how could I forgive her? But I did. After playing through Seattle Day 1, 2, and 3 again as Abby, I came to understand her. I saw her as a person, not as the golf-club-wielding monster that brutally murdered my favourite bearded Texan. This is how you get the player to sympathize with someone that did something seemingly unforgivable. You force them to play as that character and literally walk a mile in their shoes. Some people didn't sympathize with her, which is fine. But the hate this game has been getting is completely unwarranted. The 5.5 User Score on this game is a result of people review bombing and giving it 0/10 even though no AAA title is ever deserving of such a score. Also, a lot of people have been saying that the 10/10s from journalists were paid off by Sony or Naughty Dog, which is just untrue. Game journalists are never paid to give high scores on a game, and review scores don't even affect how much the game sells, so it would be a terrible financial decision for the game developer. Joguei o primeiro jogo em 2017, e o sentimento de ter jogado esse segundo foi como se eu tivesse zerado o 1 em 2013. Teve partes que ri, fiquei com raiva, chorei, fiquei tensa. O misto de sensações que eu estava quando tinha terminado de zerar foi inexplicável. Fiquei um pouco triste com o final, pois gostaria que depois de tudo que Ellie havia passado, ela merecia 'aquele final feliz', mas entendo completamente o rumo que a levou para aquele final. Vi muita gente que disse que odiou o game pela 'lacração' que ele teve. Para essas pessoas eu apenas sinto pena, porque em pleno ano de 2020, ainda temos que conviver com pessoas homofóbicas que ainda não percebem que a homossexualidade é um coisa natural e que deve ser respeitada como um todo. Adorei a representatividade que esse jogo teve, foi o primeiro jogo que joguei que realmente me senti representada, as vezes era como eu estivesse vendo a mim em alguns momentos, tanto de coisas que a Ellie falava ou fazia.     I just finished the game and it was an amazing experience i hope people would stop being such **** and enjoy the game as it is

    Flat out just a bad game, visually it looks good giving it one star but other than that theres so many better games out there, uninspired combat and a really god awful story. Embarrassing that this game just came out.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
