    Having finally completed the game, I agree with the majority of reviewers; it's a masterpiece in every front, gameplay, graphics and narrative. The game may be bleak, sad, and angry at times, but these are all human emotions, and the fact that a video game makes you go through all this is a testament to NaughtyDog's mastery in game writing and character development. There are so many character moments in the game to share without spoiling much of it, so let me describe one of my favourite scenes in the game. Here Ellie finds a guitar in an old abandoned building and starts playing an acoustic version of Take on Me. It's a stark contrast to all the terrors you just endured in post-apocalyptic Seattle.

    In players view, ellie is the main character of this game. However, we control the character that player didn't like for about 8-10 hours. I buy this game for ellie not abby.

    The gameplay and graphics was fine but the story is absolute rubbish!!! They destroyed the game!!! Part of the Abby game is unbearably boring. This character is repulsive, but they made us play for her. I hope they will not do the third part of the game.

    If you love story driven video games with an amazing gameplay to boot then You are in for a treat. Be careful though. This treat ain't sweet. This game's story will drain you mentally to the point you will probably be lying on the floor in a fetal position, crying, with ps4 controller still in hand and wayfaring stranger cover playing in the background. So prepare a lot of tissues -If you love story driven video games with an amazing gameplay to boot then You are in for a treat. Be careful though. This treat ain't sweet.     But in all seriousness. I've enjoyed many triple A games over the years and many were able to bring tears of both happiness and sadness to my eyes. TLOUPII however, is a different beast. It doesn't pull any punches and literally makes you followthrough on few of those by yourself. And not all of them are as easy as pressing square. Every hit makes you feel... emotions and a lot of doubt. If this isn't the definition of art then I don't know what is.
    This is easily THE GAME of my life. Nothing even comes close.
    On the other hand, if you're into games for the graphics, brutal combat and environmental storytelling... this game is also for you. Just watch some cool combat clips on youtube or digital foundry's analysis if you find it hard to believe.
    Whatever people think of the story, the gameplay and the world presented are worth 10/10 by themselves.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First of all, I don't get how many reviewers on this site claims that the game was predictable and boring. Really ? How was it predictable. I feel like everything in this game was one big bag of unpredictable events. Secondly, I also don't understand how so many people are mad just because they didn't get the story they hoped for.

    Yes, there are parts of this story you wont like. Yes there are parts of this story that you will like. Yes there are parts that could have been done differently. But this is ultimately the story being told. When a story follows a traditional path, it becomes predictable, and even praised by all because it gave them the outcome they hoped for. I respect Naughty Dog for taking a different path.

    Also, I think they did an excellent job to show you both parts of the story, both from the protagonist and the antagonist's perspective. I think that gives the game and storyline much more depth.

    I get it, many people are disappointed in Joel dying so early in the game. And as sad as that was, it opened up the game to a much broader story with way more motivation to move towards the end goal.

    I think the ending could have been done better, I think the ending was a bit dull, but overall the game was never once boring or predictable. There was a lot to discover, very unique situations you find yourself in, believable character's with interesting backstories and I think they did a great job putting it all together.

    I feel like everyone complaining was just speedrunning through the game and did not appreciate the dialogue or scenes presented to the player.

    The game gives players a unique experience and interesting story to play through. The characters have interesting back stories and is revealed as you play the game. The game also looks great and feels immersive. This is a single player experience which is best enjoyed with a pair of headphones.    … Expand

    The early death was necessary, it was the initialization to a great metaphysical story.
    Without it, the game would have ended up really bad because a stereotyped heroic death would have been the case in addition to a typical story.
    I hope the developer see the reviews which hasn't been written by braindead idiots, to see they did a great work and I hope the compliant people that has been sent by metally less gifted streamers don't ruin the 3th part of the game.    … Expand

    10/10 would play again! I haven’t finished the story yet but I can honestly say I’m extremely impressed. Don’t listen to all the haters. They are literally just upset because the story didn’t go how they wanted it to. Well guess what, you’re not the artist and that’s how they wanted it to be. The whole point of this game is to bring real life scenarios in an apocalyptic world. Truly, **** always hits the fan in an apocalypse and choices have consequences. Its been 20+ years since the 1st opening after Sarah, so people now know how to survive and everyone has someone whether its family or new friends In Part 2, Joel killed the Surgeon, and that Surgeon had a daughter, just like Joel. If the 1st game was from Abby's point of view, we would hate what Joel did and he is a smuggler and he did horrible things as well. He kind Marlene who she was initially against the cure for Ellie's sake. Joel is a troubled person, who needs Ellie in his life, because it fills the void of his daughter Sarah. Joel has become hardened, and because of Ellie, he gained a sense of purpose and a reason to keep fighting. That's why we all love Joel. With Abby it is the same thing. She is troubled by the fact her dad died and she doesn't know Joel and Ellie's story like we do in the 1st game. You have to have a birds eye view and see it from Abbys point of view. As im playing this game, you have to admit, noone saw this coming and the leaks meant nothing without context. They faked Joel being alive in the trailer because of the leaks and because they knew people would make a bug deal about it. By hiding it, they gave everyone a fair chance to have an open mind and see the story play out. Abby is an interesting character, and just like Ellie, she could've had a good family and good relations with Owen in the flashback 3 years earlier. She became obsessed with hunting Joel, that Owen forgot abby for a while and did it with Mel. Only after, does he want abby and him to be happy, but now Abby doesn't want to screw over Mel with Owen and regrets everything she did. She does regret the terrible **** she did in that one scene. She kicks the chair and cries. She needs Lev. Abby and Lev are the new Joel and Ellie so to speak, and ofc, we know they shouldn't replace the OG Joel and Ellie. The whole point isnt to like abby, the point is to see someone elses skde to the story. We were against the fireflies in the 1st, and now we see thier journey and a really interesting character involved. Her dad was the Surgeon and could've changed the world. No wonder she did what she did. What she did was wrong, yes, thats what the story is trying to tell you. All this pain, and what it does to people is sick, especially in this world. Thats why I love this game and it is a masterpiece hidden in the script. Ill be honest, some things could've been made better and Ellie didn't have to lose 2 fingers. They could've made abby be more obvious that she regrets killing Joel and that she would've been happier if only she let him live and take a beating, instead of us having to look for body language and to really understand her. Other than that, it doesn't change the fact that this game is amazing. It shows how a theme can do so much damage to one group and another. Different point of views. It helps you become a better person to evaluate everything. Abby lost everyone to Ellie and Tommy except Lev, and Ellie lost a lot because of Abby. Atleast Tommy and Dina are still alive. Gone for the moment, but the fact Ellie spares Abbys life, is a powerful moment. She wanted to do the cure, and Joel took that from her. But Ellie knows he did it for her and he needs her. This is a truly depressing game. Ellie in a flashback before killing Abby, saw Joel in the same scene we get to see later in the end. She forgave Joel, thats why she let abby go. If Ellie killed Abby, she would lose what Joel always asked of her. He wanted to protect her and by killing Abby, she would be no better. Abby here, is worse, because she did kill Joel. But the fact Ellie didn't kill Abby back, shows just how pure and strong she really is. Just like in Avatar: The Last Airbender, Katara didn't kill the person who killed her mother. Why? Because she said it herself. "I don't know if im too weak to do it, or too strong to do it." Exactly. Ellie is too strong to do it, because thats why its a masterpiece. She is better than all of us and she just wants to be with Dina and live a normal life in thi cruel world. *** Thats why Dina left. Because Dina didn't want someone so fueled and blinded after abby did spare their lives, because of Lev. ** Abby is becoming a better person, becahse she needed some1 to give her humanity back, just like with Joel and Ellie, and now Ellie needs Dina. Just finished the game but it feels like nothing really happened, felt like there was more focus on side characters I don’t care for than the main characters. I really really enjoyed the first one but not this one. I really tried to like this game but I just personally disliked the story too much. Kinda sad my first review for a game is not because I enjoyed it lol. I just hope there’s multiplayer eventually.… Expand

Spoiler - first i think Ellie's girfirend will be dead somehow (in an early trailer's joel appears, and he is in a good shape, aka not dead, naughty dog are you lie to us??) and and thats will be the main story reason to take a revenge, but nooo.... joel have to die, and a two 18 years girl take a lead...full believable... they are lesbian and taht's not problem (nowdays its essenctial, and have to be some Jewish reference in it too). They just killed a dad character, no family reference anymore , no good vibe. The story not that catchy anymore (smelling of sweat, forced) :(. I like the first one better.… Expand

The storyline caters to people who don’t play video games but like to complain about how video games aren’t politically correct enough. Overall The Last of Us: Part 2 is a shameful sequel to the great game that was the original in this series. Do not buy!

I can confirm that both times it felt like a slog through miles of mud and grime. The only part of the game I really enjoyed was the upgrade mechanics and shooting, and even then, they were far from the best at it. The story was abysmal. I shouldnt need to suffer through 10 hours of gameplay for a few short segments with (a really dumbed down, almost like hes developing Alzheimer's or got hit in the head a few times, Version Of) Joel. Those little 15-30 min segments are the best parts of the game. You have your boy Joel again. Your supportive father figure. Haha You liked that guy? Hahah Golf club go KRRK.

    Joel didnt deserve to die like that. He deserved to go out fighting for his little girl against a horde of angry fireflys, or a giant zombie. Not to some **** who cant deal with her/his daddy issues.

    Go buy a Tomb Raider or Uncharted if you want this style of gunplay.

    Go play Literally anything else if you want a better story.

    Oh. And $20 says they force the Devs to make a DLC where you can Club Abby's brains out. #LongLiveJoel

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. For a game that’s been been in production for 7 years its literally a last of us skin for uncharted 4. The gameplay has had minor tweets added to it after the first game but it just stays the same boring fight after fight all game through honestly the seven years must’ve gone into forcing shock mechanic so around every corner. The story is lacking and has no point, you spend the entire game slaughtering people animals etc without remorse as we watch Ellie spiral down into a crazed kill obsessed tiresome idiot completely destroying the Ian person built up in the first game much like Joel whom isn’t reduced to this complete polar opposite to who he wasn’t in the first game, and in the end you let the person your hunting go because that’s multi tier story telling aka flopping. You then realise that the entire plot was for nothing all the killing was for nothing and all your friends that died and suffered to get you you’re revenge does so for nothing it’s all pointless. The game in a post apocalyptic environment seems to still retain all of its politics it’ll lovingly force down your throat within its world despite the majority populous being freaking plant zombies. It’s also worth pointing out that all the straight characters in the game either get slaughtered off or get beaten and acquire such injuries that they might as well be dead because it’s would be better than dealing with the outcome on their bodies. Owen is killed, Mel dead, levs sister bang, The dude that hints that he’s slept with most of the wolves women and the guy that spits on joels dead body, dead without a second thought cuz i mean with the director being a male feminist who oddly looks similar to him I guess you gotta make it so the personalities are so far apartment or kill them quickly so you can’t make the connection, Abbie’s black doctor friend well Ellie went weed hacker on her because why not she wasn’t already dying right why not make her a pile of sludge, Joel swing and a beaten corpse, Jesse the only likeable new character booom for shock value even has a kid with Dina but he mustn’t know he mustn’t it would be bad if he found out for whatever reason. Tommy is the only one that remains after it all and he has one leg fully functional and a permeant mangled face so naturally he also needs to loose his marriage on top of that because why not drive my point further. Even Abby is starved to near death after nearly being sold to slavery and thrown into these crazy situations that no one would be able to get out of. But wait what about Ellie and Dina they where treated bad too, well no Dina got her head banged a few times and sure Ellie left her but she’s has a bigger family we never see back at the town so. Ellie got beaten to near death a few times but the entirety of the game is focused around her pointless effort to be stupid so she deserves it for all the crap she puts people though for literally no reason,She leave she her perfect family years after for a second time she’s allowed to live happy, and then doesn’t kill Abby to return back home to find no one there. Should have been a standalone game for £20-30 for 20 hours of gameplay we got split With a character we hate and continue to further hate as we play her. Isn’t even worth that much of a replay there’s no replay ability value.… Expand

The only good thing about this game is it's gameplay and graphics, but it feels like a schizophrenic monkey wrote the story to this game, the pacing was awkward, the deaths were so out of place and random, nobody even learned anything from the deaths that occurred. Joels death seemed too early, I would be fine with them dying, but the way he died and the way it went was so heart crushing and painful to watch, the whole game felt painful to play, only a few scenes were nice. I am unhappy with the fact I had to play as abby for 10 hours, I barely could manage to keep playing, I was ok with small scenes to switch the story up, but 10 hours of the person who completely destroyed the heart of the entire franchise abruptly? I'm sorry, it does not work. They tried so hard to make me sympathize with abby, but it is literally impossible on how forced it is. Same with going after abby AGAIN, it was so unneeded, and weird. I'd understand if you were going as tommy to get abby the second time, cause they have a full motive to do it. Ellie is living a happy life, and just throws it away? Come on. They legit just threw Jesses life away for nothing. Not even Dina learned anything from that. They had so much potential, but threw it to the ground. The Dina and Ellie moments were nice, same with the Joel flashbacks. Thats it though. Good gameplay, graphics, sadly that is all I can say.… Expand

    The story is horrendous, dark, bleak ,hopeless, nihilistic to the point of being gaming first snuff game. You feel sad and drained not because you empathized with the characters, but becuase the game relentlessly through dark gritty brutal violence at you. Its like watching a puppy getting kicked violent down a flight of steps over and over and over again ...its really puzzling TBH as Naughty Dog are really good at telling competent stories

People fail to understand why this game is hated by the series' own fans, let me give a quick rundown. The subject of this review focuses on one sole aspect of The Last of Us: Part II, its story.

    The Last of Us: Part II is so alienated and full of itself, it essentially imploded in the storytelling department (something which garnered fans and made the first game so notable was its compelling story). The sequel is just so problematic in so many areas.

    There's a good base from the previous game for a plot with revenge as the central theme. The game completely wasted that potential when the story's execution was botched. The build up of the plot was so lacking, most of the character's decisions made little to no sense. The narrative fails to make you truly understand these pivotal decisions in the plot, as well as align your intentions with the game's. In addition to plotholes, there just so happens to be some awkward and unnecessary, almost petty-like, dramatics that don't seem to correlate to the main plot. I can't help but feel as if it was obvious were trying to add these for extra drama and sympathy points for the characters.

    Speaking of which, the characters and their relationships felt so lackluster, and to some extent even forced upon the player. It's especially hard to empathize. Again, this is because of the story is so messy and the plot so misplaced, they threw away opportunities to develop these characters properly and essentially add more depth to the story. Mishandling these characters was just an honest mistake at this point.

    Lastly, there is the unjustified ending. Not all endings are happy ending, I know since we are dealing with The Last of Us series, but after playing through to the end it just fails to make the players feel like they've earned THAT ending. The payoff afters hours of gameplay fell short of expectations and players were robbed of, not necessarily good but, a justified ending. A good narrative would have succeeded with that. This game does not.

    Gameplay and graphics-wise the game is very good, this is its salvaging aspect. I recommend you don't play the first The Last of Us to avoid total disappointment.

    Overall, I did not enjoy The Last of Us: Part II as much as I was hoping to. In comparison to its predecessor, the game not only failed to perform on par with its most significant aspect, the story, but instead just took a big leap backwards.    … Expand

I have never rated anything on here but I had to boost this score. It is unworthy of any hate. This is just as good as the first game! So what Joel dies its a prefect catalyst for Ellie’s character arch and development. Its so unfair for this to be rated so low because of a bunch of neckbeards can’t relate to a woman. The game starts out very nice and for about two hours it feels like the game we wanted, but then they kill Joel off while Ellie watches. Now we have a revenge game which seems like it's going to go great right? Wrong. So Ellie hunts down these people that killed Joel but when we think we are going to finally fight this new character who is called Abby who was the one who killed Joel the screen goes black. Now we are forced to play as Abby for the same days we just played as Ellie just with a different perspective. So now the player is playing the character they hate for killing Joel for 10 hours which is about the same gameplay time played as Ellie. Sounds great right? No it isn't. Abby's gameplay is supposed to make us theplayer feel something for her character but how can we when she killed Joel? Anyways skipping ahead to when the screen went black with Ellie, Abby is ready to kill Tommy and Ellie but not before killing a new character called Jesse. Now you the player is forced to attack and hopefully kill Ellie who we were playing as? What? Oh yeah! So you fight Ellie as Abby and Abby gets the best of Ellie. Okay. So Ellie and friends return home and now Ellie is living a happy life with Dine a new character and her baby who Dine gave birth to Jesse's child? Who is Jesse? A new character Abby killed off. I know just listen it gets worse. So now Tommy show's up on this Farm Ellie, Dine, and their son are living on after he was shot by Abby during the meet up of Ellie and Abby. He is **** up from that which makes him a whole new Tommy. Tommy tells Ellie he has heard from traders that their is a woman traveling up the coast. So now Tommy wants Ellie to go to finally kill this Abby but Ellie has a family now so she can't go. Ends up she decided to go and try kill Abby again. Yes I said again. So Ellie gets to the end of the game but decides to leave her alive after you fight her??? Ellie returns home after this fight with Abby where she lost two fingers to Abby during the fight to an empty farm house. Dine leaves her with their son and she can't play the guitar anymore due to the fingers lost. Their are some nice flashbacks in this game but that's it. The combat is great and it's very satisfying to kill every enemy. The music and graphics are on point but could use a bit of a fix but the story is all over the place. 4 or 5 out of 10. Not a fun game makes's you feel like you did nothing but play a gsme about nothing.… Expand

Although the game is fun in terms of gameplay, the mechanics are similar to the first with added features like jumping onto enemies, going prone and jumping. Various of new enemies are introduced but it doesn't feel like it seems like enough enemies especially after 7 years you would think there would be a lot more especially for all the traveling you do in this game. Same style boss fights as the first one plenty of parts are predictable like how many times is the character going to run away from enemies and push the door open to create an "intense" moment. IMO it was played out Ellie fell through the ground so many times it was like oh no again, so boring. Although Ellie was my favorite part of the game especially her minimal screen time spent with Joel those were great moments in the game. Abby's part on the other hand was a big **** you to some fans, such a let down. Abby's character has no empathy, they expect us to feel bad form her father after seeing her side but IMO nothing redeems her for me after she kills Joel especially so early in the game! Literally 1 hour in you play as Joel in the very beginning for 5 minutes riding a horse to Jackson. Abby doesn't care to tell her friend Mel to stay put while she was pregnant, she has an affair with Owen while he was still with Mel and was pregnant! The addition of a trans character I have no issue with it just seems force at this point, I'm all for women power but these characters are so bad.… Expand

I feel cheated, cheated by ND. I feel ND has stolen my money. They use fake trailers to made us think that Joel will be in this part too, very important part of Ellie 's journey. This game would be about Ellie's journey with Joel. They use Joel to increase the game sales, that's all. It's disgusting. And after 2 hours of gameplay, Joel is dead in the worst, cruel and unnecessary way. What's the point of this? I knew that Joel probably die in this game, but wtf? His death is the worst thing i've seen in all my life. He deserved better than this. I have no problem with Joel's death, is the way he died that make me feel ill. Unrespectful, awful for a main character. Non sense. The game lost his sense in that moment for me.

    The worst part is when you discover that you have to play as his killer, the game force you to play as Abby and try to force you to empathize with her for 12 hours. What's wrong with you ND?? Did you think this is would be a good idea at all? ERROR! You can't empathize with a character who kill one of the favourite characters in the franchise. I don't care about Abby, I don't want to know anything about her, I don't care her life, i **** don't care. Her part is full of situations that nothing have to do with the real plot, are unnecessary, it's just filler to sell you a character like the good guy from the movie. Neil said that Ellie would be the only playble character, funny right? They hid Abby and they excuse themselves with the surprise factor. They lied again.

    The script is full of holes and non sense situacions like Tommy giving their names in front of a lot of strangers with guns or Abby telling Ellie that she killed all her friends, what do you expected?? YOU KILLED JOEL FIRST

    Unfortunately this game overstays its welcome at the halfway mark, and then you've still got 10+ hours to grind through. Not recommended. Just watch a playthrough instead of buying it.

The bigger problem here was the interference on all the core of the first game and another unecessary ways to destroy relationships so beautyfully constructed.

    Gameplay - It's a greatly expanded version of what we saw in the first game. Animations are a lot smoother, enemy and companion AI is much better, the damage you can do together with the sound design make for a really grueling yet amazing experience.

    Graphics - Definitely amongst the best we will ever see this generation, it's crazy how they were able to make such a beautiful and detailed game run so well in a console that came out 7 years ago.

    Atmosphere/World building - Each and every area is full of details, full of "life" and have interesting documents that tell small stories that are always interconnected with the main plot, be it to give you some extra context or small stories of what happened in that specific area which sometimes go hand in hand with the puzzles & safes.

    Sound Design/Soundtrack - It's just perfect. The work done on everything sound related in this game, be it from Gustavo Santaolalla or the amazing sound engineers/devs is astonishingly amazing.

    Story - Divisive? Maybe. Good? Definitely, one of the best stories I've seen in gaming personally. It has a few pacing issues but I didn't find it nearly as bad as people were making it out to be. People talk about "agendas" and whatnot, but it's clear it's filled with passion and it's exactly what the devs set out to do (not the suits). I find it brave that even with all of that drivel, they decided to do what they wanted to do with its story!    … Expand

    It's a deeply moving experience that Naughty Dog was in a unique place to be able to effectively provide the audience. I for one am grateful they did, instead of telling a less meaningful but maybe more crowd-pleasing story.

Те кто ругают геймплей должны поиграть на сложности Survival(там игра раскрывается на 1000%. Бои с людьми из-за ИИ с каждым разом становятся всё интереснее, а новые возможности в сочетании с левел дизайном дают огромный простор для личного опыта. Стрельба(которую на Survival можно только пощупать) сделана очень отзывчиво и крайне жестоко. И ещё повествование выстроено именно так, как это необходимо сюжету и работает в первую очередь именно на опыт игрока и его отношение к тем или иным персонажам. Шум PS4 точно показывает то насколько красиво выглядит игра, а выглядит она шикарно. Самая животрепещущая тема для СНГ это ЛГБТ повестка, которую не зная обо всём что происходило вокруг игры ты даже не заметишь. Атмосферой в игре настолько проникаешься, что иногда за персонажей из записок переживаешь как за второстепенных нпс потому что полностью веришь в этот мир. Насчёт озвучки- играть нужно исключительно в оригинал т.к. ни одна локализация не передаст тех эмоций(а если говорить про русскую не исказит смысл) того что сделали актёры оригинального дубляжа. Песни в этой игре отдельная тема для разговоров т.к. текст этих песен играет на нарратив и является самостоятельным инструментом повествования. Ну и кроме того в игре лучшая реализация гитары в игре не про гитару за все времена. The Last of us Part II настолько хорошо может пробить на эмоции(не только положительные), что иногда этому поражаешься. В заключение хочу сказать, что Нил Дракманн- гений, а вся команда Naughty Dog сделала невероятную работу, которую некоторые обесценивают из-за 1-2 сюжетных решений. После The Last of Us Part II покупаю любую игру Naughty Dog предзаказом.… Expand

    When I put down the controller after more than 35h of focused gameplay, I was speechless and in awe of what the Naughty Dog team and the excellent cast around Ashley Johnson, Laura Bailey, and Troy Baker have created. Even now I struggle to find the right words to describe the experience. It was a constant emotional rollercoaster ride: up, down, up, down, further down and a little bit up again. It’s a dark and brutal game. I laughed, I cried (a lot). I felt guilt, desperation, fear, anger, hate, but also hope.

    The STORYTELLING is superb. I never expected to become so invested in Ellie’s story. Don’t get me wrong, I always knew she was going to be the main character. But seeing her unhinge like that and spiral deeper and deeper into darkness on her quest for revenge really got to me. After all, Ellie was the innocent one in the first game. Putting the player knowingly into the shoes of her antagonist for a considerable portion of the game was a bold move by the creators, but it paid off in my opinion. TLoU2 impressively depicts that nothing is either black or white and no one is only good or evil. There are no heroes in this game and no villains. The game is about revenge, yes. But it is also about love and forgiveness. It is as ambiguous as its predecessor. And much more divisive in the delivery of the major plot points.

    I loved the GAMEPLAY. There is rarely a break in immersion when transitioning to cutscenes. More than once I was still pressing buttons without realizing the cutscene was already underway. The gameplay is much more diverse and full of options than ever experienced in a ND game before. Whether you choose stealth or go in guns blazing (if the resource situation permits) or do something in-between – everything is possible. Prone movement, dodge button, and that guitar mechanic are gold!

    GRAPHICS are as good as it can possibly get on the PS4 system. The visual presentation of the game is absolutely beautiful and stunning, starting with the animation of facial expressions and movement to building this atmospheric, densely packed post-apocalyptic world! Can’t wait to see how the game looks on PS5!

    The AUDIO DESIGN is perfect. I played with my headphones on and the dimensionality of the sound when turning with my character into different directions was amazing. As for the SOUNDTRACK – sparse and reduced to a minimum in both instruments and notes – it just always works really well. My highlight was the acoustic version of “Take on me”. Ashley Johnson, you can sing to me any time!

    REGARDING HATERS:
    With that being said, the quality of graphics, gameplay, and sound alone justify a rating of 5/10 for this game. I have read several of the very negative reviews to better understand what the issue is and in all cases people were very disappointed with the story in general and the first 2-3h of the game in particular. Let me tell you this, haters: Being disappointed with the story, but praising technical aspects of the game at the same time does not justify a 0/10 (or slightly better) rating! Grow up, learn how to reflect and gain some perspective, stop skipping cutscenes and stop watching someone else online play the game for you!

    WHAT ELSE:
    If you consider to buy/play TLoU2, you should know that this is not a happy game. It is dark and brutal and you will feel tons of differing, often negative emotions. And that is okay! You are supposed to. The story is not linear and not all answers are immediately delivered to you. You will need patience. You will need to keep an open mind about the story and watch it slowly unfold in front of you. And finally, when you’re still sitting there staring at your TV screen long after the credits rolled, reflecting on what you have just experienced, you will likely come to realize THE LAST OF US PART II is a masterpiece, a stellar example of interactive storytelling, and my game of the generation. 10/10!    … Expand

    I honestly can't understand the negative criticism of this game. You need maturity to enjoy it.
    Naughty Dog took the risk by bringing something new and disruptive. They could have followed a basic and predictable story but no, they chose to bring new angles and challenge the player to choose for himself the morality of those actions.

Depending on the enemy, he chooses the best approach to attack you. The graphics are the best of this generation. The soundtrack is exemplary, in a subtle way it makes the player more or less tense with the part he is playing. The game is dynamic, well-balanced in terms of action and loot scenes, with unusual moments to spike your mood.

    Been playing games since the NES days and this is one of the best games.
    Excellent story telling and visuals. Loved all the new characters introduced. I did have to put it down a few times since it’s pretty heavy on the “omg that was horrible” moments. That ending… damn. Magnificent.

Instead of making the actions right/wrong, it explores the moral gray area which as you progress through the story makes you question yourself ]which I feel is genius.     It was beautiful, thought provoking and fun. I couldn’t put the game down once I started. While I can understand other’s frustrations, I feel that the story was worth telling and the sequel was justified. Thank you for the experience Naughty Dog!

    Excelentes gráficos y una banda sonora increíble que da la tecla en cada momento. No es 10 por sus varios agujeros de guión. Una historia que se debe tomar como una evolución e involución de los personajes que estuvieron en un pedestal hasta ahora. Peca de tener momentos de gran acción para cambiar a una cuasi novela.

    I think some use reviews are very harsh. The storyline wasn't my preferred choice but I still connected with the characters like the first.
    The graphics are incredible and the different game experiences designed I really enjoyed.
    It's still a must play and without the pressure of being a sequel this would be an all time must play.

    Not a 10/10 only cause I didn't prefer a few story aspects.

It is without a doubt the most emotional and gut wrenching rollercoaster ride any artistic medium has ever taken me on. Not only do they manage to make you hell bent on revenge that you will literally kill anyone and everyone to achieve it, they then make you able to relate and even feel sorry for the "villain," so much so that you even regret Ellie's decision to once again try and finish what she started. If you are at all on the fence about getting this game because of some of the bad reviews online, you owe it to yourself to pick up a copy of this and play through the whole thing. Игра понравилась , это не та история от которой игроки будут кричать ВАУ , но в целом разработчики как по мне , смогли донести смысл сюжета , не все конечно поймут после концовки но все же и не справедливо поливать ее говном . Подача сюжета не всем понравится , но очевидно ясно о чем она , она нам рассказывает как Элли не успела сказать Джоэлу насколько он дорог ей и вот это чувство недосказанности будет ее преследовать всю жизнь. Думаю все же эта игра не совсем про месть как вам будет казаться , игра скорее всего нас учит тому что надо ценить близких вам людей потому что в любой момент их может не стать и вы не успеете им сказать то что вы к ним чувствовали . Те кто не поняли концовку почему Элли отпустила Эбби , в трейлере 2016 года когда Элли поет песню на гитаре над трупаи врагов , приходит Джоэл и говорит , что ты делаешь ? ты реально готова пройти через это? ну то есть очевидно нам хотят сказать что Джоэл не хотел чтобы она превратилась в такого монстра , хотя в принципе так и произошло . Но в конце когда Элли вспоминает Джоэла , тогда она окончательно понимает что он не хотел бы увидеть ее такой и хотя поздновато но останавливается оставив Эбби живой.     Last of Us 2 is a beautiful game with fantastic gameplay. It’s not a “happy” game, but rather a realistic and often unsettling portrayal of flawed characters inhabiting a brutal new world.

The game is brave enough to confront the elephant in the room: Joel deserved to pay for his selfish act at the end of the first game. And boy does he pay! They have also populated this world with a far more interesting cast of characters: Abby, Dina, Lev and Mel are considerably more engaging and rounded than any of the side characters from part one. Jesse and Manny are slightly under-served, reduced to mere cyphers who are present only to support the female leads. But considering how often this has been the reverse over the years, we can forgive ND for this minor slight.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
