I've never EVER cared if a game is about pandering lgbti. It has never bothered me, but if something does, is that if something is story driven, IT HAS TO HAVE A GOOD STORY and this is quite the opposite. The story speaks for itself and it's really telling us that the developers hate us, that, or they wanted to wipe their asses with the people who bought the first game and ACTUALLY cared for it as a whole, people who loved the characters, the gameplay, the story, the atmosphere, the music, every single bit of it. Killing the character we all know too well, and nothing at the same time, was the biggest mistake of the developers. Not even killing it, but killing it in the way it was, was really humilliating, and I felt the humilliated person was ME as the player. Making you play as the killer in the second half of the game made me not sympathize with it, quite the contrary, made me hate it. This game was an utter insult to everyone who played the first one. The leaker(s) saved me a lot of money, because I was about to buy the collector's edition, and I'll be forever grateful for that kind act. Expand

While graphics were amazing, gameplay was decent the main thing you care about is the story.
If you’re going to take out of the game the main character and loved by the fans of the previous game while you expect them to be mad, AT LEAST give as a story that MAKES SENSE.
The only reason I don’t give it a 0 is because I appreciate the work people who did the game design music, the acting ,animations, graphics.

It’s a great game. The TL;DR here is that most people who are review bombing either haven’t played it, or are traumatized that a character they really liked died... which actually speaks volumes about how good the writing is. The TL;DR here is that most people who are review bombing either haven’t played it, or are traumatized that a character they really liked died... which actually speaks volumes about how good the writing is. Almost like the characters are written in such a likable and believable way, that people would be so worked up and emotional about their death that they’re sending threats to the developers.

It’s similar to something like Game of Thrones, where G.R.R wasn’t afraid to set up cool and interesting characters just to kill them off abruptly in the same book. And while it totally sucked, it sucked because I liked the characters, not because I thought the writing was bad. It just reflects the reality of living in a harsh world. People die. People walk into the wrong place at the wrong time and die. People get cocky or let their guard down and die. People you love may have made bad decisions that come back to haunt them... and they die. That’s the world characters in The Last of Us live in.

And onto the idea that they’re forcing diversity and making this game political... that’s total bs. The diversity that they show in the game probably simply reflects the diversity of the people that make the game. Not only that, but there’s no character that’s like LOOK AT ME! IM THE GAY ONE! Or IM THE BLACK ONE! They’re simply... people. Some of them happen to not be straight, happen to not be white, or identify as a different gender. Just like in real life. If you don’t like that, then maybe you need to travel a little bit and meet some more people.

Also Abby is a woman and she could probably bench press a car. It’s also a reflection of her character that makes perfect sense in the context of her story. How the F is that political?!

If you played and liked the first one, you’ll be emotionally invested to play this one. Simple as that.

Gameplay-wise, everything is improved and expanded in the first one. The levels are physically bigger and give you plenty more choices on how you want to tackle an encounter. Exploration is also very deep with a lot of thought given to the story behind the environments. I can expect to find certain items in bathrooms, others in office spaces, etc. so if I’m running low on tape, I’m on the lookout for an office space, instead of opening every drawer in an abandoned building.

As far as criticism goes, I do have some. I think the game goes on for a bit too long, and there are at least 3 spots I thought were the ending (and I was happy with it) and then it kept going for several more hours. I think at least one big section could be cut from the Ellie section and another from the Abby section and I’d be very happy with the length. That’s it.

Also ND owes me an extra pair of pants because that infected boss literally scared the crap out of me.

This is the greatest fraud in the history of video games.
Nice graphics but now it doesn't matter, because Neil Druckmann has single-handedly destroyed what the series stand for, and what made TLOU remarkable in the first place.

Wonder why professional reviews are so glowing? It's because Sony is literally not allowing them to base their review past the first few chapters of the game. It's because Sony is literally not allowing them to base their review past the first few chapters of the game. Combine that with access media afraid to lose their early access to review copies and real world politics being inserted into freakin video games of all things (and reviewers basing their review in agreement with said politics instead of the game itself), and you have this scenario.

What the reviewers won't tell you:

All the little moments the original game featured, the unique gameplay sessions that spiced up what is arguably pretty vanilla gameplay before amazing story segments, is gone. Couple this with the fact the story is an absolute shadow of its former self, and what you get is a very long drawn out and boring game with little to break up the monotony. With the story ruining characters by not at all portraying them the way they 'should' act based on the first game and the rules it set (the story showing you how individual characters act and think, now not matching to how they act and think in this game), there's little to make you get through the sludge of the same gameplay to get to the end of the game. No longer is the story a treat you are excited to get to. Now you nearly fear it, as the game seems to get worse in its story as the game goes on.

There's a reason why the reviews didn't allow for any discussion on the last 12 hours of the game, and it had nothing to do with 'spoilers'. It was because the game in story, character development, and gameplay falls apart in the last 12 hours to the point where you'll literally exclaim "what the f***" multiple times. This is not just an opinion of liking the story vs not. The story is not anything to be proud of even if you share the views of the creator. It's literally just a revenge plot.

The irony is the game creator silencing people even discussing the game (even without spoilers!). He's essentially making a game that says revenge only brings you pain, all while he's taking revenge on people discussing his game in anything other than the brightest light, all while complaining people are upset at being silenced.....pretending he's the victim. It's literally the revenge plot endless circle his OWN GAME warns about.

Sony is also at fault here. Sony will censor Japanese games for showing a side boob or simply being too "sexual" (if a butt cheek is shown in Devil May Cry, it'll be hidden by a solar flair!). But in this game, there is a girl who's literally raped... right there... in front of the camera... in a very brutal way... no censorship.

I'd like there to be a standard here from Naughty Dog and Sony. Censor all games, or censor none. Don't censor people's opinions and accept critique, or censor it all but stop playing the victim and admit you don't want your art being critiqued.

Being hypocritical and only acting in your favor, ie: always against what the customer wants, will get you an even harsher critique than you would have gotten had you just presented what the game was honestly from the start. The game is a pale immitation of what made Part 1 so great. It would have been scored poorly by users regardless of this controversy. But the controversy will only make people's feelings towards the game more sour, and affect the score even more. This huge difference between professional and user scores should show the masses the divide between the common person and the elites we've experiencing for ages. The only difference now is, they don't think they have to hide it. Vote with your wallets.

Gameplay is boring, not innovative. The plot is like a crappy TV show. Neil tries to teach players his opinion of revenge in a game but games are never tools of that. I'm making this rating based on the first 6 hours of the game, and I will update it later. I know entirely that you should not judge a game like this by only it's first dew hours but olease remember that a good game should at least try to hype you at the beginning. This game fails in every way to make you want to continue. The plot reasons are extremely weak and poorly placed during the game so far. Almost every new character they introduced to make the world more alive and more interesting does quite the opposite, most of these new characters are boring to say the least. It doesn't really feel like a The Last of Us sequel, storywise, for these first 6 hours. On the other end we have the gameplay. It was updated and took to today standards... Well, sort of. It does feel like you're playing The Last of Us, but it gives off too much a weird feeling of being an action game, and not a great narrative driven story like it's predecessor. One special note goes to the enemies: I've noticed, and recorded with the Share Button, that most enemies literally spawn behind me so they can take easy swing at me while I had no way of avouding it. Not only enemies spawn like that (it doesn't always happen but when it did it was annoying as hell) but their detection range for the olayer is inconsistent. Sometimes you can get in front of their face undetected, some others they will spot you from like 5 miles away. Weirdly enough, aside from the very early parts, it takes too long for a story cutscene to another which is kinda bad for the "game with a story", there are not enough driving points and like said before the player is not encourager to continue, you get easily bored as soon as you end the very prologue. I was so let down I had to pass the controller to someone else to continue for a while and they got bored too. The graphics is great, but some animations are disappointing, mainly the jump animation, and the climbing animations. The dodge animation is bad but not that bad. The vegetation is great but then you see the "wind waves" on the grass and start vomiting. There were also some disappearing buildings, but they restored themselves after a few seconds of invisibility. Unremarkable early game for a sequel.

I'm terrible at making "reviews" and I hope no one ever asks me to review games for a job.

Trying to challenge people's morals without giving them a choice I'd say is a pretty bad thing in video games. Maybe this would've worked better as a show or a movie, but a 20+ hour game telling me I should feel wrong for something that they force me to do is just silly.

The issue is the entire game is full of this trite, self-important "show the cost" hypocrisy. "Show the cost," but

For the most part the mechanics of this game are fantastic (as expected), but with that being said, I can not for the life of me understand why Naughty Dog wrote the story that they did. The story was a major disappointment for me. I do not think I have ever been so let down about a story before in my life. I understand that having a story not go the way I want it to go is just my opinion, and that the developers can take the story in whatever direction that they want to, but I do not think 95% of people could have ever predicted that this story would go in the direction that it did, and I think that was a major mistake on Naughty Dog's part. I do not mind when a company wants to subvert their audiences expectations; but I only agree with this approach, if the company stays true to the characters; The Last of Us Part 2 does not do this in my opinion. Also, in my opinion, from a pure business standpoint, the direction they took the story makes no sense and I believe will hurt the overall sales of this game in the long run.

One character in particular makes/says some of the dumbest things ever, that they would have never of said in the first game, and it complete betrays who the character is. The only justification for having the character be so stupid, is because the story needs the character to be; hence poor writing. Not to mention all of the other bs that Naughty Dog had been doing up to the release of the game and are still currently doing. I stayed away from the spoilers for the most part, but I was paying close attention to what was going on with the copyright claims on accounts on social media websites. Here are the biggest reasons why I think people are so upset about this game:

    1) The trailers for the game were extremely deceiving.
    2) The illegal use of copyright infringement towards a number of Youtubers, Twitter Users, and other online platforms.
    3) The Leaks - After playing the game, I completely understand why people who saw the leaks are furious and why they did not purchase the game (And they have every right to have this opinion).
    4) The Vice-President of Naughty Dog Neil Druckmann's comments and trolling of fans before and after the release of the game.
    5) The vast majority of media outlets not having the backs of or reporting on what Naughty Dog was doing to Youtubers and Twitter users who were having their videos struck down or being banned for memes on Twitter.
    6) The media's take on the users scores on Metacritic (review Bombing); this take is invalid considering that a ton of people are also giving this game a perfect 10 out of 10 with no context. Reviewing bombing goes both ways, but a lot of times media outlets only like to report on the things that fit the narrative they are pushing.

Overall from a gameplay and story perspective I have to give this game a 3 out of 10. The story is that awful in my opinion, and is a giant slap in the face to a large portion of the fans of the first game. It is absolutely fine if you enjoyed this game, I honestly envy you and wish I enjoyed it as well, but the negative criticism that this game has been receiving is 100% valid and anyone telling you otherwise is blind and naive.

I would like to thank all of those at Naughty Dog who had nothing to do with the story or any of the antics that your company was doing throughout the development of this game and build up to the release of this game; I am sure you all worked extremely hard on this game and truly did an amazing job visually and mechanically.

This game is kind of like those burgers that you see in McDonald's commercials, they look great but they're made from plastic and glue.
The game is visually stunning and plays well but unfortunately the gameplay and immaculate detailing are attached to a generic revenge plot that is told in a way that is beyond sub par. It takes beloved characters and forces them to behave uncharacteristically in service to a contrived plot that reeks of pretentiousness. The story itself tells events out of order and from multiple perspectives in an attempt to make you feel the consequences of your actions. This is poorly executed and actions that you took 6 hours ago (which held no weight to them prior to context) are suddenly thrown back in your face but by this time we've already moved on, it's too late to care.

The attempt at humanizing the game's villains falls flat and becomes infuriating after a certain amount of time, we are forced to play as the primary antagonist of the game for around 10 hours during which time we are mercilessly beaten over the head with attempts to show that this character is just a regular human being with relationships and problems not so different from Joel and Ellie, which is accentuated not so subtly by flashbacks in which the two lead characters of the game are shown in near identical situations. The problem with this attempt at humanization is that the group in discussion has committed an act that will make the vast majority of players loathe the thought of their existence, let alone the attempt at redemption. The attempt itself is also poorly executed often relying on situations in which the characters are shown caring for animals or children. It's as if Niel Druckmann suddenly forgot how to write a compelling character without using crutches.

Character development in game is essentially non existent, the story being told doesn't allow for much growth by either of our lead characters as it's told in a relatively short period (3 days). The supporting cast is well acted but we are never given enough time with these characters to learn anything about them or develop any sort of meaningful attachment despite them being rather important to the narrative. The dialogue between characters feels forced and messy and as a consequence their relationships feel unbelievable.

The ending is one of the biggest issues I had with the game, It is drawn out and nonsensical all in order to hammer home the absolutely groundbreaking message that this game delivers which is essentially that revenge is bad. Genius, I know. This point was more than sufficiently hammered in throughout the story and the ending did not need to be compromised to give us another example of how terrible revenge is.

This story should have been told within the same universe but with original characters, at least then it would only be a sub par sequel and not an insult to the characters that we know and adore, as well as the audience that purchased this game based on the good will that Naughty Dog earned with the original. It's a shame that the technical brilliance of this game will be overshadowed and mared by such a poorly written and sloppily executed story. In an ultra linear game that focuses primarily on story telling, I cannot in good conscience give any bonus points for a gameplay loop established in a previous game or for the insane amount of polish that the game possesses. My personal distaste for the direction of this game has been left out of this review as much as possible, honestly I wanted to give it a Zero but that wouldn't be fair or objective. 4/10 is as fair as I can be.

If you have any love or nostalgia towards "The Last of Us" then don't play this game, it will alter your perception of the characters and leave you with a bitter taste in your mouth. Knowing where this story leads will likely make it more difficult to enjoy the original game for the masterpiece that it was.

What I think after letting it sink in for a couple of days and first writing a negative rating.

Objectively, it is a good game. It just isn't a good experience as in something you really want to experience. And that is really contradicting. A fair warning to everyone that is currently having a bad time in his life, just don't play it until you feel well and think you can cope with raw
What I think after letting it sink in for a couple of days and first writing a negative rating.

Objectively, it is a good game. It just isn't a good experience as in something you really want to experience. And that is really contradicting.
A fair warning to everyone that is currently having a bad time in his life, just don't play it until you feel well and think you can cope with raw anger, sadness, and being heartbroken and disturbed. The game will make you feel bad emotions on a level that I've so far only experienced from real life. The difference here is that books and movies have some distance, which is lost if you are actually playing the character. Those reactions for me were the reason to rate the game bad first, because I rated those feelings. Objectively, and with some distance, and that's hard to do if you are really invested in the story and characters of the first game, it is a good game. The game achieves what it wants to do, it challenges you on an emotional level, and it does it so well that I got mad and broken for doing that to me.
In the end, it's just a game, but for me it's not that easy. The first TLOU is connected to a lot of personal stuff for me, it came in a time where I needed a light at the end of the tunnel, and it was just that.
The second game actually drives you into a tunnel and leaves you without light, at least that's what I felt.
I think it would have been a good idea to use new characters to tell the story, but on the other hand, it wouldn't have had the impact Naughty Dog wanted to achieve.
I also think the marketing should have been clearer about what you have to expect. I know what I have to expect if I go to the theatre to watch Joker. But if you expect an experience like the first game, it hits you like a truck, and I think that's very unfair. It's just too much.
If you are like me, you might not play this game ever again, just because you don't want to go through the experience again. RIP trophies.

    The good:
    - Breathtaking visuals
    - Great level design
    - Excellent world building
    - Amazing music and sound effects
    - Acting and animations are the best I've ever seen in a game
    - Accessability options are very appreciated!

    The mediocre:
    - Gameplay is the same as in the first game, you will still enjoy it though, if you liked it in the first one

    The bad:
    - Too long for what it wants to do
    - Tedious scavenging for pretty unimportant upgrades - this might change with higher difficulties though, I played on normal
    - Some plot holes and unrealistic story parts (would have to spoiler, but I don't mean the stuff everyone is hating on, more like unrealistic "teleports")
    - Some characters feel without depth
    - The game forces you to do things which you might not want to do. The only option is to stop playing. Which is intentional though, and part of the experience. Just be prepared for it. I would have liked an option and player decisions.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us 2 had a big challenge ahead of them to follow in the footsteps of the first game, a game revered for its storytelling, graphics, gameplay, and characters. And it did not disappoint, unless you came into this game with a closed mind, expecting the story you wished they wrote. But they did not write the game you think you wanted, there are no "only happens in a movie" moments. There is no breaking of realism. You get pure, deep and realistic people for characters, in a raw, intense story. The first game is told from the perspective of Joel and Ellie, the good guys. But the second game plays on that, Joel, you seemingly has only ever had the interests of Ellie's and those closest to him in mind. The story unravels that, showing the lies, deceit, manipulation, and the senseless murder of the man who may have been able to end the infection once and for all. We get emotional cutscenes and flashbacks, to the things that mattered most to Ellie, why she idolized Joel, and grew up wanting to be like him, to the scenes of her discovering his lies about what happened in the hospital. Her resentment for him, for the person she had once held so dear. Ellie's journey in this game is how she found a way to exorcise the demon that way Joel, as good as his intentions may have seemed while playing him in the first game. They were selfish and manipulative to others.

Ellie's story sees her struggle with that to the very last moments of the game.

Abby's arch, the one you're supposed to hate for brutally killing off the beloved main character of the first game. Is a roller coaster. A good one. Her story has deep roots, amazing character development for her, and if you catch the details of the game, it really makes you empathize with her, she's not a bad person at all, She's just someone that wants to bring her father's killer to justice. She does so, without leaving a trail of other dead bodies behind, a stark difference to Ellie's approach, which as quoted by Ellie herself, were acts that she thought Joel would have done, that is why she needs to.

No, Abby is not the villain, but the light in the story. Her consistent humanity keeps surfacing over and over again. When she hears a story that one of her best friends his missing after supposedly killing another WLF member. She doesn't just take that and let it go, but she cares deeply to seek out the truth and make sure her friend is okay. She risks losing the safety of being a WLF for a few different characters, even risks her life, facing her greatest fear several times, and encountering the best boss baddie of the game. Through her arch, she sees the innocence of some children Seraphites, willing to help them after they save her life as she is nearing a gruesome death. Never faltering in her morals, a Seraphite and her eventually ends the story in a reminiscent way to how Ellie and Joel ended the story of the first game. Poetic.

What makes the writing so great though, is that many of the senseless deaths just happen, as they would. Very true to what we would expect the realism to be. There are hardly heroic deaths in dying moments, though a couple, and none that are just unbelievable, all feel real. The game is written to stay true to entertain you through storytelling rather than the unattainable mind-blowing action moves you'd expect in the Die Hard series.

All in all, this game built on the first game, and pushed a challenging story through, successfully. As long as you're willing and able to see the details in it and not just assume the revenge plot of childish behavior, but actually recognize the perspective. If you miss that, you will probably get caught up on hating Abby for killing Joel. However, if you really do yourself that favor, you're bound to end up seeing Abby as one of the most humane, likeable characters of the series. Both her and Ellie's stories, woven together as they are, have substance. Even more than the first game, and that is saying a lot.

There is a reason professional critics have this game rated so highly. They genuinely played through the game, with an open mind, and were rewarded with an experience from what could possibly be considered the greatest game to date.

Lots of people are saying that the "gameplay" was the same as the fist game, but while the mechanics felt the same, because of the game you had to play I think it was FAR worse. I didn't have to herd sheep or ride a horse in a snowstorm in the first one, I wonder if people are grouping these absolutley tedious gameplay portions into "story" because they are so tedious that you can forget that you are in fact still actually "playing" the thing. In my mind, to say that the gameplay is on par with the first game simply because of mechanically similarties is kind of like saying that the gameplay of horse is the same as an NBA playoffs match.

Druckmann, you really didn't need to draw the paper-thin premise of "violence begets violence" out over 30 hours and fill it with torture and gore porn in order to make your point.

The original "The Last of Us" was beloved because it delivered on many different fronts. It was a great character piece. It was atmospheric. Even if it was needlessly violent most of the time, at least it was a straightforward point-a-to-point-b story, with lush natural vistas and a real sense of loneliness and atmosphere. "TLOU" had themes and depth. It was about mankind discovering his humanity in the ruins of civilization. It was about bonding, communication, relationships, and hope.

"TLOU Part II" is about little more than peddling brutal, transgressive content, and on top of that, advertising it in a misleading manner to the millions of fans of the original groundbreaking title. Neil Druckmann, you in particular should be sued for false advertising for the way you edited Joel into the trailers. The way you instructed gaming outlets to only review the first third or so of the game is an utter disgrace that only shows the incestuous nepotism inherent in this godforsaken industry. And to top it off, hitting content creators on the Internet with DMCA notices really put the cherry on top of your crap sundae.

I feel disgusted by the way this all was handled. If Amy Hennig were in charge of this, this never would have happened, because she understands something called nuanced storytelling. Look it up, Neil Druckmann. You should never be given creative control of any video game ever again, and I hope that other AAA devs will think twice before hiring someone as tone-deaf to their audiences as Anita Sarkeesian to consult. I pity the developers who worked so hard on this game's beautiful graphics, animation, soundscapes, etc., all in service of the worst story I've seen in a modern video game. Shame on you, Druckmann. Resign, for the good of gaming.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I originally wasn't going to get this right away because I like to wait for sales when I buy games but a friend got it and I tried playing it to see what the big deal was. Sadly, I have to agree with some of the other reviewers. This comes off more as a poorly written fan-fiction riddled with plot-holes and contrivances where they shoe-horned in culture-war issues to make a statement than a real attempt at an engaging and interesting story-line like the first one. I'm very disappointed since I actually enjoyed The Last of Us and this was presented as a continuation of Joel & Ellie's story. SPOILER: It isn't! They kill off Joel near the very beginning and replace him with a woke character to pander to the SJW crowd.

I don't understand why game companies feel the need to virtue-signal their "wokeness" to people whom a vast majority of won't buy the game anyway. Why do this? Why not just make the games that a majority of gamers actually want to play? Catering to a select (and noisy) minority who rarely if ever buy your product is a very poor way to run a business and a great way to drive away those of us who buy games because we enjoy escaping from reality for a while to have fun. We don't want our entertainment to be a part of that which is constantly shoving the culture-war in our faces. STOP IT!! We are not your congregation or looking to be converted to/from your religion! In any case, I'm barely giving this a 2 out of ten and that is solely for the graphics quality being pretty good, but graphics can't carry a crap story that won't let you escape the damned culture-war that is tearing this country apart.

May be it should be simplified just to "Like it" / "Don't like it" binary system, because de facto it works that way.
    1) Almost nobody tries to separate one factors from others (OK, you don't like plot, but you shouldn't immediately put zero for entire game for this: there are a lot of other factors and, for example, you would certainly look like a total dumb if you put "zero" for a graphic or open world detalization in AAA project like "The last of us".
    2) Nobody (and even professional critics sometimes) in modern time doesn't really understand and use rating as it should be: comparison of currently observed game vs all other games. How it is possible to rate a triple A project below some crappy product of unknown game designers?

So, in overall, my idea suggests, that either rating services should use simplified binary ratings, either they should ban everyone, whose ratings are totally busted.

PHENOMENAL game! That's all I need to say! I've been shocked, sad and happy, theses are the things that make a game special. The amount of attention to detail in the world to facial expressions is amazing! You can tell Naught Dog put everything they got into this game and it shows. If you own a PS4 you must play this game!

The story is great and as always, presented in a perfect way. Yes, the controversial scenes will come a bit much for some. I've just ignored them. Minding that i was hooked from the very beginning and immersed myself again in this universe.

Last of Us 2 is so disappointing especially after the first game. The first one was a masterpiece and one of my favorite games of all time. Pros: Nice gameplay, level design, graphics, audio component.
    Сons:
    - SJW agenda making u sick, - torn plot, - illogical plot twists, - a lot of basically jump scares(indi horror style), - backplot served through notes in 2020 (indi style again). Recap: Another fail of so called "game critics", it's 100% not 10/10 game in many ways. Sequel don't deserve stand along with original.

Whether inside or outside the game, this story only creates more hatred.
It may be a good game if it does not use "The Last of Us" as the game name.

This game is a nihilistic, extremely badly written and joyless piece of gargabe, and a disgrace to the original The Last of Us. Avoid it. The only reason I do not give it 0 point is because I want to get some credits to the artists, gameplay programmers, level designers, etc.

I wanted to like this game. I saw the critics reviews and thought it would be amazing. It is terrible. The story was designed to displease you, and video games are supposed to be pleasing. It is packed with PC SJW content that feels shoved in your face rather than placed in a meaningful way. The game is repetitive and tedious. Incredible masterpiece. The combat system is a massive improvement to the first game that provides a wide variety of player agency when it comes to handling enemies. You can use stealth (especially with the ability to prone), go in guns blazing or you can use a mixture. The choice is yours and the combat is very satisfying. The sound design is top-tier! Listening to the Clickers or Stalkers run by really ramp up the tension.

The environments are beautiful and there's enough of a variety to make each enemy encounter and combat scenario different from the last. Some of the areas have multiple levels where you can attack from higher grounds or sneak up on enemies by swimming through tunnels. The soundtrack is haunting and beautiful and matches the themes and tone of the game.

Voice acting and facial animations are incredible achievements and accomplishments, providing a very cinematic experience for the entire game.

Finally, the story - I absolutely loved it. The story and the way it was told made me feel a wide range of emotions and feelings from anger, sadness, joy, sympathy and empathy. I can definitely see why this story wasn't for everyone as the themes are quite dark and we see our favourite characters go through painful journeys, but that's how life is sometimes - unfair, painful, and tragic.

Thank you Naughty Dog and I can't wait for your next project.

Graphics are good, but that does not make a game great. Am not sure why they took the story in this direction, but what a complete let down. Seriously this company screwed this up. Am giving it +1 to the score for the graphics. Skip this game.

I will allways love the first journey, the sweetness of the duo Joel and Ellie. The part 2 its a one of a kind experience. The sadness and hate is overwhelming, it's painfull all the journey. The simple and deep feelings you carry when loose someone who loves, the emptyness only be surpassed moving forward.

Boring and repetative gameplay for 30+ hours that was supposed to be justified by the story that is boring and repetative as well. It is full of filler episodes and cliches that are 50 years old classic of post-apocalypse genre but were advertised as groundbreaking and new.

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
