    The game is a top notch high quality that you would expect from a typical naught dog game but the story is not perfect. They want you to like abby and hate ellie i think. I don't like the story but i really enjoy playing the game. The story is deep, brutal and violence. After playing the game, i don't know what to say.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I personally enjoyed seeing/playing Abby’s story because it made me realize how surprisingly similar her and Ellie are. It makes me somewhat understand why she killed Joel.(although it’s still rather upsetting that they killed him within 2 hours of gameplay, we haven’t seen this guy in 5 years and he’s dead within the 2nd hour?!). I can see where Naughty dog was trying to go with this and i do think they touched on some important topics in the game as well. I personally enjoyed their sort of nod to the lgbtq+ community with Lev’s storyline. I think it truly showed how some trans people are easily outcasted and shunned from their homes/communities due to things like that. I will say the ending did leave me feeling almost dissatisfied in a way. But in the same breath i think the cycle of revenge and hatred does that to any set of characters, it’s not supposed to be wrapped up in a bow at the end. I think the story telling could have obviously improved in areas but overall i think the storyline makes sense and i can understand why they make Abby such a vital character in the 2nd part.… Expand

    las mecanicas son geniales, la gran atencion al detalle, como juega con uno y sus emciones la capacidad de ser una historia de venganza y van apareciendo muchas emociones, una historia que arriesga mucho pero para mi funciono. El juego tiene muy pocos errores que yo puede ver por esos errores no es un 10

    Almost week after completing the gameplay and I still can't stop thinking about it! You can feel that they loved creating that game. Amazing double journey in action, emotions and morality. It made me love post apocalyptic worlds even harder.

    O jogo é lindo, jogabilidade maravilhosa, um modo diferente de contar a história, mas eu sou da galera que curtiu o final sim. Achei maravilhoso.

    Awesome game with awesome story. Though I may not agree with aspects of the story mode, put aside, it was an awesome 30+ hours spent. Here's to hoping that this is not the end of LOU.

    Love the chances this game takes with its story. Its a honest look at what humans would do to avenge a loved one. And the tool it takes on the mind. I don't get the hate. Not everything is black and white. 10/10 and thank you to the men and woman who put their heart and time into this game.

    Absolutely one of the finest gaming experiences of my entire life. One of the worthiest sequels ever made. Gripping from start to finish, with visuals that stun, and a story that leaves you affected days, and perhaps weeks after finishing it. I hate that so many review bombers have dragged the score down, because so many people are missing out on an almost flawless storytelling experience.

    I really don't understand people saying this game was awful.

    Every reason people have given for it being bad has just been shockingly stupid. This is by far one of the best games I've ever played and anyone that has actually played it through would agree.

    30% of these negative reviews are clearly from people who have not played this game.

    An excellent follow up to the original (which I happened to play a few months before Part 2 came out). The story is superb, characters well written, excellent gameplay and terrific graphics! Parts of the game were scarier than the first game. Pacing could have been a bit better, but overall enjoyed every moment of it. The ending was perfect (it couldn’t have ended any other way). I lovedAn excellent follow up to the original (which I happened to play a few months before Part 2 came out). The story is superb, characters well written, excellent gameplay and terrific graphics!     Painfully tragic and sad. Perfect for The Last of Us. The opening of TLOU broke our hearts. TLOU2 breaks them again and again, but never so much as the end.

    This is a great game! It evokes emotions and gives new sensations. Personally, I cried almost the entire game. Don't listen to anyone until you play the game yourself, you should feel it.

    It is a very good game, good game play although similar to the first game, 10/10 graphics. In the story it decays a bit since at certain times it is a bit forced but it does not ruin the game.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game is a masterpiece, but I simply don't like it. And I get why people don't. Here are the biggest issues I have with the game:
    1. Yes, killing Joel is important to the narrative and it gives the players the motivation to go on a revenge quest. The problem is that unlike in the first game, people aren't playing as the character (Ellie), they're playing as themselves. Ellie's choice to not kill Abby was a good one, but it still feels really unsatisfying. I actually like extremely dark and grim games, but one thing I can't stand is an unsatisfying piece of media, because to do something unsatisfying I can just do things in real life. If they had killed someone the player isnt that attatched with, eg. Dina, and/or if Joel was crippled in the act, I think the game would've been liked by more people. And I say this with pain because they gays always get **** in the story and I hate that **** But I get it, Naughty Dog wanted to try something new. And the narrative about the Fireflies wouldn't be the same without the death of Joel. I guess its a catch-22. So, I recommend that you play the game with a cold head.

    2. What the **** is up with Abby's part? Yeah I get it, she's a complex character and not all bad, but why does she start killing her WLF friends right after going AWOL, isn't she supposed to be getting better as a person or whatever? They should've given her non-lethal methods of takedown, like what? Also, why does she help the kids so much in the first place? I get they saved her and all, but Joel had an actual good reason to travel with Ellie? I guess its because she just gets magically attatched to them in a day, even though she's a hardened survivor.

    3. Lev's transness is kind of **** up. Its interesting that they included a trans character, but its literally the source of every single problem of Yara. It takes her arm and eventually kills her. Plus Lev just makes really dumb choices un general. I get that he's a kid but damn, survival of the fittest. The kid is a dumbass. I feel bad for her sister. I wish they didn't have killed her.

    4. The ending. Again, its super unsatisfying, and I hate that Abby and Lev's ending has some hope in it (they can go and find the Fireflies), but why is Ellie's ending so ambiguous? The only clue that she has some hope left is that she's wearing the bracelet Dina gave her. But she can't even look at herself in the mirror anymore. Its a depressing ending. I like to think she went back to Jackson. Also, why does she leave Joels guitar there???? Like I get its a metaphor for leaving his death behind or whatever, but why does she leave it there without a case???? I think its so disrecpectful, like I get you can't get attached to material things in this universe but at least put it in the case. Come on

    So basically, this game is good but you can't play it if you're too attached to Joel. I'm replaying TLOU and trying to forget about this one. And I'll replay part 2 when I forget a little bit about TLOU because there's no way a 60€ is only giving me 25 hours of content. That **** was expensive.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The graphics, audio design, music, voice acting, character design, set design, and atmosphere were all absolutely superb. Which is one reason I find anyone giving the game a 0/10 rating to be absolutely asinine. Even if the story WAS complete garbage as they claim, everything mentioned above warrants at LEAST a 5 or 6 out of 10. But people angry that the story didn't go the way they wanted conveniently ignore all that went right with this game to spew their vitriol. Naughty Dog took mighty risks telling this story and while I don't believe it is quite as good as its predecessor, those were some awfully large shoes to fill. I think the emotional impact alone is enough to compel me to give this game an excellent score, but the story itself is also executed amazingly well, especially on a second go round of the game when you can take in more of the environment instead of rushing through to find out what happens. And therein lies the one real issue I have with the game, which is the pacing. It was going to be tricky no matter what to get the pacing just right with the story they wanted to tell but a few tweaks here and there would have greatly benefited the game's flow, I believe. Still, I know it must have been difficult to decide on the order of events and I'm sure they took a painstaking amount of time trying to decide so I do give them the benefit of the doubt. I'm sure they tried other ways and orders of events but it maybe didn't have the same emotional impact. Overall, it's a great game that really challenges preconceived notions of what a video game should be and tells a story worth telling. I love Ellie dearly and being placed in her shoes was a harrowing, emotionally devastating journey. And although I don't believe what Abby did was right, I come to understand that a person should not be known only by their worst mistake but also by their ability to grow from there and change for the better. This isn't simply a game about revenge but also about forgiveness (no, not Ellie forgiving Abby, but Ellie forgiving JOEL) and redemption. I hope that we get another game despite the backlash - one where we can see the conclusion of Ellie's story and her finding meaning and purpose in her life once more. She deserves the chance to become better, just as Abby was able to.… Expand

    This was a game I will never forget. Gut wrenching, incredibly emotional, beautiful to look at, ground breaking in it's inclusion of LGBT characters. I am stunned. A total masterpiece.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So as someone who found the first part about a year late. Then proceeded to love both story mode and multiplayer for years. Obviously I was longing to visit some of my favorite characters ever. I patiently waited, even when some sad soul decided to leak cutscenes and some parts of the story. I stayed away knowing that making up my mind on any aspects of the game would only lead to dissatisfaction. So I put my trust in naughty dog and with a clean slate played on. This game was tough to love at times. Several times I had to take a minute and put controller down to process what was happening. I felt anger over Joel's death. Sadness over Ellie's loss.then I was forced to play as Joel's killer and I couldn't find it in myself to root for her. The more I played though the more I realized what the creators were trying to do to me. So I played on. I obviously love Ellie. I felt a great sadness when I had to play through her hot headed revenge run. I knew that this wouldn't bring her closure, yet the way the game is made it is so easy to get hooked on becoming this deranged killer plowing through a city. This in a way mirrors how Joel would've reacted before Jackson. All I wanted was to find Abby and make her pay. All the way until the theater scene where Jesse gets killed in such a jarring fashion. I was slightly impressed at the stubbornness of the villain of this game.

    Then the coin gets flipped and I have to play as the killer of my father. At first I hoped it was just a flashback. So much so that I didn't even look or scavenge for anything because I was sure my stint in her shoes would be short. Then she grew on me just a bit. After hours playing as Abby I felt morally challenged when it came down to playing against Ellie in the theater. I didn't want to hurt her, but I also didn't want Abby to lose either
    The addition of Lev and Yara made me see Abby as a sort of Joel replacement. The reluctant experienced adult who begrudgingly takes a minor under their wing, that would eventually bring them inner peace.
    The last fight was the hardest. Now fully immersed into the lives of both of these women, I didn't want to go there. I could easily step into either of their shoes and justify their actions. I love this game. It's a step up from the first part. The first one is a beautiful cliche. This second part is hard,and gritty and real. Especially in the way it shows us how heroes and villains is a matter of perspective.

    10/10 Can't wait to play it again and take my time and look in every corner of this fantastic game I hope they make a part 3 and I would wait ten years if I have to.    … Expand

In this case, there is an alternative, where Tess tortures the main character in the game The last of us and then kills. Now remember the first full trailer for The last of Us part two. Ellie plays the guitar and is immediately shown how Joel Miller enters and it immediately became clear that Ellie would be avenged for his death..… Expand

    TLOU2 is a sick game in a good way. At the end It left me whit only one emotion: disappointment. So why I fell that it’s a good game? Because that’s the objective of TLOU2. The characters aren’t flawless. Every single one of them has a lot of bad experiences and trauma that lead to a f*cked up ending leaving you, the player, empty.

    This game is a masterpiece. Isn’t for everyone, because isn’t a game to enjoy, is game to feel a mix of feelings through it’s story and it’s characters. If you play it a second time, you’ll be hit differently, because you know everything you’re gonna have to do for a revenge.

    It may seem like you don't need that much playable hours, but everything is hood balanced in its story, which will make you feel uncomfortable, which you will sometimes hate, but is brilliant in all its aspects.

But I'm starting to appreciate it as I started to see it not just as a revenge story. I saw it as Ellie engaged in all those cruelties attempting to forgive Joel for what he did at the firefly hospital. Towards the end of her journey, Ellie realized how similar she had become to the very person she resented (and loved at the same time) and were possibly finally ready to forgive Joel. I'm not saying this justifies Ellie letting Abby live in their final encounter, but it could be one possible explanation. Gameplay-wise, amazing graphics, great atmosphere, absolutely adore the open-world section in Seattle, wish Naughty Dog had added more sections like that. In general, a decent game, I gave it 8/10.… Expand

So, i did what i felt was necessary..i stopped playing it for a couple of days after Abby's 1st day. I needed time to let everything sink in a bit. After those couple of days i couldn't wait to get back to the story.

    I took my sweet time with this game, and i believe that's the you should play and experience it.
    Can't say anything bad about this.
    And i don't get the hate it is getting.

    This is just another case of spoiled out of touch people who couldn't even write a childrens book, getting angry because the story didn't play out the way they expexted. And if you haven't played the game, don't even bother giving your opinion on this.

    I think this game is amazing. The graphics are phenomenal and the combat has highly improved. This game adds a whole new aspect of a zombie game. The story was super fun even though you didn’t get any backstory on 90% of the characters.     Beyond Good and Evil. Another masterpiece by Naughty Dog, huge amount of details, excelent gameplay and above all a story that will make you love or hate for the characters, everyone has their reasons. It's a game about vengence and dealing with the consequences. Last of us Part 2 makes you believe you can either be the hero or the villain.

    Después de haberle echado más de 30 horas al juego he podido ver que es un juego sobresaliente. Tiene un diseño de escenarios soberbio, con una cantidad de exploración y de coleccionables muy alta, que además alargan el juego y no se teDespués de haberle echado más de 30 horas al juego he podido ver que es un juego sobresaliente. El sistema de combate mejora bastante respecto al tlou 1, ya que aquí se le añade a Ellie y a Abby la habilidad de esquivar, no solo eso, si no que también tenemos un árbol de habilidades mucho más grande y complejo, y un sistema de crafteo excelente, aunque sin cambiar mucho del original. Además de esto cuando combates con varios enemigos (ya sean infectados o no) el juego te obliga a pensar fríamente tu estrategia, ya que la inteligencia artificial de los enemigos hace que no te valga cualquier estrategia, que por cierto, esta, como os podréis imaginar, es increíble. Pero el juego también tiene puntos negativos y para mi estos están en la historia, ya que está no tiene ni de lejos la calidad del tlou 1.(Alerta spoiler) Para empezar porque creo que matar a Joel de esa forma fue una decisión horrible por parte de naughty dog, está bien que maten a un personaje, ya que eso te da incentivos a asesinae al que lo hizo, pero matar a Joel de esa forma tan humillante me dio hasta asco. Como he dicho matar a un personaje está bien, pero tienes que elegir según el personaje, si quieres que este muera como un perro o como un heroe (y para mi Joel debería de haber muerto de esta forma). Yo personalmente creo, que si le tienes mucho cariño al personaje (como es mi caso) te puede arruinar un poco la experiencia. Una de las cosas que más he visto a la gente quejarse es del final, ya que Ellie no mata a Abby pese a haber matado a mucha más gente en el pasado, bien, se que mucha no va a estar de acuerdo conmigo pero yo creo que si tú te tomas el final como que quiere dar un mensaje, este es muy bueno. El juego quiere que tu enpatices con el supuesto villano del juego, y que veas que aquí no hay ni malos ni buenos, por lo tanto teniendo en cuenta eso, que no muera Abby es algo que está bien. Entiendo que si ves el final desde un punto de vista lógico te parezca una basura, pero como he dicho antes, intenta tomártelo como un mensaje, para que veas que la mayoría de villanos tienen motivos para hacer lo que hacen. Mi veredicto final es que este es un juego sobresaliente, al que no le pongo un diez porque flojea en ciertos puntos de la trama, pero si te gusto el tlou 1 deberías de jugar a este sin dudarlo

    One of the best games visually. Actors have done a great job considering the weak storytelling. The gameplay is almost identical to the original and it feels like you are playing a fine tuned version of the original. Unfortunately the warm story beats of the TLU is no where to be found. Its dark for the sake of dark, and tries so hard to be woke. But in the end result is mediocre at best.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The previous game was a good journey with a solid gameplay and visual experience; the focus wasn't really the storyline, but its narration and the empathy that you develop towards Ellie and Joel.
    This game basically match the expectation with the gameplay (pretty much like the previous one) and the visual (top notch as 2020), however it failes when it comes to narration, plot and characters.

    In this game you play with Ellie in the first half, and another character for a little bit, until you have to play as Ellie again.

    In the first half of the game you experience scenes that allow you to understand Ellie a little better, expecially with Joel and another girl (Ellie is lesbian). Unfortunaly only the scenes with Joel are well done, and the session in the natural science museum can easily be marked as the best thing you'll experience in this game. Her relation with the other girl can described without spoiler as meaningless because it's never been properly developed for various reasons. When finally the two are together Ellie decide to leave her for her last journey towards the end of the game as a proof the Ellie-Joel bond was simply better story wise and the girl relation wasn't a big deal.

    In the other character experience there's not much to talk about. You're going to experience the story from a different point of view and it takes a while to understand the motivation of the new character.

    The game ends with Ellie who leave the girl she supposed to love, and starts a journey that probably will takes months or so to hunt down the other character you played with.
    It's really difficult to understand why they invest to much in the romance just to ditch it away in the end, why Ellie starts a journey to find another girl that as far as she know may well be dead (or may die during her hunt). It's even harder to understand the ending scene, knowing that no previous hints were shown to comprehend the sudden change in motivations that Ellie.
    The whole ending scenes feel bad because a lot a things happen during this journey and none of them allow the player to understand the final choice of Ellie, leaving the player with the uncomfortable sensation that the devs focus too much on side contents narration and invest so few in the meaningful storyline.    … Expand

Now the story, personally I think it was ok, it wasn’t a masterpiece but it wasn’t a garbage as a lot of people say. As a play I felt like the more I advanced, the more Ellie suffers, and for me that’s what a lot of people hate, but that is life my friends. You can’t always think things through and when you realised where are you standing, it might be too late. Now about Abby, I never liked her, not ever after the time we play as her, and I hated when you have to fight Ellie as Abby. I also didn’t like what they did Tommy at the end, I felt it was unnecessary. Now the finale, I expected a lot worst, I don’t know what people expected, but for me, I didn’t want to kill Abby. It was like if Ellie killed her, she would truly lost her way and probably wouldn’t be able to get better(also I like Lev and it was like taking the last thing that he/she has). Also I understood it as a way of forgiving Joel. It was a way of finding the light. I liked that. She didn’t lose everything because she finally finds herself. Dina will forgive her. Trust me. I also think that the more attention you put to the little things the more you like the story but maybe that’s something more personal. Sorry for my English.     I liked the quality of the AI for the stealth mission aspect of the game. How the enemy looks for you is better than any other game that I've played.
    Also I liked the feeling the bigger maps give compared to TLOU I. For moments it felt as an open world game.

But for me, none of that matters without a great story, and the story here SUCKS big time! They - meaning Mr. Druckman, Made me play the antagonist for half of the entirety of the game! They tried to make Ellie the bad guy now, Then, as if it was not bad enough, at the ending made me FEEL bad about playing Ellie! Even after Abby killed Joel, she had the happy ending while Ellie was left with nothing! How could that even be called a "good" ending?? MAYBE if this was the first game, then I wouldn't be rooting for Ellie as much as I did. But it isn't, this was PART 2! I have come to love Ellie and Joel, then this game just KILLED Joel at the onset, then at the end, made Ellie the antagonist at the end. I couldn't give this the score critics gave after playing it through and more importantly, I DID NOT HAVE FUN at all playing as Abby. I wouldn't pre-order this game if I had known they would do this to Ellie and Joel, and the story just plain sucks. It wasn't an experience worth $50. I wasn't happy and contented in the end.… Expand

The characters already had a strong backstory, so there wasn’t much need for massive character development. However, as grindy as a linear revenge story gets, the game is satisfying. Half way through, you’re introduced to Abby, Joel’s killer. This is when the sh** hits the fan. The writers force the player to play the bad guy and what’s worse, they try to force the player to relate to her.

    The first game was much more nuanced at doing this but that’s because the writing was actually good. In this garbage game, the writers tell you what’s right and what’s wrong. They also force you to play a shallow character and force you to try relate to her: she has friends, family, interests, oh my. You have to like this character, but not only that, the writers have the absolute gall and audacity to try turn you against Ellie and Joel. It just comes across as pretentious drivel. This is just another slap in the face to what's happening in sequels nowadays with continuous character assassinations to bolster shallow characters. For example, what's been happening in the newest ST and SW. Oh my gosh, it’s such a mess of a story. They tried to create a controversial story but it comes across as offensive. This is just bad story writing and changing characters like this ruins the whole experience for me.

    I'll explain what they did in detail. The first part of the game resolves around Ellie's revenge plot, as basic as it is. However, the second half is a redemption arc for the villain and to portray them as 1: justified in their actions and 2: real every day people. They fail horribly on every count with this. First, they try demonize Joel and his actions in the first game, specifically when he killed the Fireflies to save Ellie. They do this by portraying the surgeon, who was going to murder Ellie, as a loving father and by showing how Joel is such a horribly person because he wiped out humanity's one hope to fight of the virus. They fail this miserably because the first game was about the moral question, do the means justify the ends? Of course, they do not. This is what the whole first game is about and philosophically they don't either. If the means justify the ends, then anything goes. Joel was defending Ellie's right to live, because she was not given a choice. It was not a sacrifice, it was attempted murder. It might have been different if the Firelies asked if Ellie was willing to sacrifice her life, but they didn't. As an example, in a pathetic attempt to assassinate Joel character, Abby remembers her past: when she mentions she would have sacrificed herself.     Since this attempted character assassination of Joel fails miserably, it's difficult to put the second part in perspective. What's worse, it's blatantly obvious how the writers keep trying to shove emotional scenes and backstories of Abby down the players throat from the very get go. The literal first 15 mins of Abby's playthrough is either characters directly or indrectly telling the player how good and likable she is.
    I bet if they could change the first game, they would. But, they can't. They cannot change how things turned out in the first game, oh boy but sure do they try. The last of us Part 2 just insults your intelligence and there is no nuance. The basic morality of TLOUP2 is revenge is bad... Mmmkay. Now go brutally kill people. Eh?

    I’m so shocked they did this and so offended. Please, if you have your own mind and enjoy stories that do not preach to you, then avoid at all costs. If you must play this, wait until it's super cheap. I loved the first game.     This is real good game, at all. But I hate Abby and i must played Abby charachter all 2nd part. Its poorly, really poorly. But game are beautiful and the end are really great. Play please :( you will like it :(

    After playing.. I still say the Story sucks. Graphics great Level and terrain great and improved over the the first. But the Story just sucked and it kinda feels like it was changed midway through development. if you play it play it used. not worth the full price.

    Do you remember Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2? Last of Us II plays like Vol. 1, but face plants as it attempts to do the second half. Don’t get me wrong, they added and fixed sooo much from the first game, however, you (the player, not Ellie) are manipulated by the producers into something no one asked for. The game was great the literal first half, but the second half where you are forced to play as the antagonist whom you just spent 12 hours hating is the absolute worse. I didn’t sign up for a game where I have to play the antagonist/villain, cause that’s what she is a villain, and then face a bunch of heart pounding, saving the cat type moments, all so that I feel bad for her; that’s manipulation on a grande scale. I would have been happy just playing as Ellie for 28 hours straight, I don’t hate that they added a bunch of work characters, I liked that, but the ratio of crisis is more Abby heavy. Essentially, by the end you are not where you are suppose to be. It’s like if someone tried to describe game of thrones poorly, or try and make it the walking dead. The Last of Us II could have been a great game, they could have had the a motivation that didn’t piss off soooo many people, instead of doing what they did to Joel, Bobby, Ellie, Dina, Jesse, etc. I stopped playing half way through the second half for a month, I just couldn’t it was that disappointing. I powered through with the hope it would redeem itself, it did not. I wanted “Bloody Satisfaction” and I got a little of that with Nora, but I wanted more, I wanted a full fledge roaring rampage of revenge...instead it kinda fizzles our.     Quite simply a masterpiece. Probably one of the most cinematic games I've played. It was not the story most gamers expected but still a story filled with surprises and twists and turns. incredibly beautiful, intense, smooth gameplay and a great atmosphere. This is a must!

However, I feel almost as if those who boycott the game missed the point. We are all insignificant at the end of the day, and that is why Joel’s death hurt so much. Because we got to know him so intimately, his death hurt so much more. His end was not fitting, but in the world of TLOU, I don’t think anyone realistically expects their death to be that way. Death is both monumental and trivial in this world and this juxtaposition makes for some incredibly moving moments. This was a heart wrenching, haunting, and painfully real narrative that is ultimately more concerned with forgiveness than revenge.     But I think sometimes, the content of a game (or any intillectual property for that matter) is so bad and so departed from what made its original source material so damn good, that it renders any good left in it's content absolutely meaningless.

    And from a gameplay aspect, whats here IS good! it's great. I genuinelly think that the gameplay is some of the best I've ever played in an action adventure game, it's gritty, impactfull, tactile, responsive, deep and isn't bogged down or unintuitive. Just a fluid, raw, adreneline soaked good old time. Truely, a genre defining console selling experience. I literally BOUGHT a playstation just to play the last of us 1 and 2 has even BETTER gameplay. So that will tell you how great the gameplay in this game actually is. Almost perfection.

    Now you've got to ask yourself, if the gameplay is THAT good, how bad does the narrative of this game have to actually be to warrant such a poor rating?

    It's because the original was a story about two broken people learning to love and trust again that form a father/daughter bond. I'm not exagerating when i say that it was one of the best performances in the entertainment industry Iv'e ever seen and i literally fell in love with those charecters, as did most people who played the original. Truely an iconic performance and a masterwork crafted that everyone involved should be beaming with pride about.

    Which is why when certain things happen in this game which i won't mention for spoilers, makes me legitimately angry. Which by it's self is fine, i mean look at the games setting, death is an occurance and a very real risk, I love game of thrones, death happens in that all the time to beloved charecters, it can be a powerful thing to subvert an expectation or to remind your player/viewer that this is a gritty realistic world where anyone can die and genuinely makes you fear for your favourite charecters lives when they are in a sticky situation. It's not the death of a charecter that has made me think that this is a bad game narratively. It's the way in which it was done and the reasons WHY it was done.

    Let's analyse these issues I have with it.

    1) The way in which a beloved charecter dies in this makes no sense as it happens due to the charecter acting and doing things that are out of charecter for the individual. This is bad as it shows that at naughty dog, the very fibre of a fictional charecters moral compass, drives, intelligence, thoughts and desires (all things that are the building blocks and foundation of a charecter) can be ignored and swept under the rug, just to shoe horn in their death. Thats bad writing. A death is an easy way to illicit an emotional response when the charecter is beloved and if an emotional response was the goal, it was achieved, but not without sacrificing the suspension of disbelief and not without raising inumerable questions of the decisions the charecter made prior to the death as to wether or not it would actually unfold the way it did. Bad writing, end of story. Didn't understand the charecter, or didn't care to even portray or write the charecter properly. Furthermore it shows disrespect towards
    the audiance as we are expected to swallow it blindly without thought and without analysing it or spotting plot holes in it. Your audience is intelligent naughtydog, don't insult us.

    2)Naughtydog playtest the narratives of their stories, in the prequal to this game they tested it and found that the death of ellie at the end (as it was originally) did not sit well with the test groups, so they changed it. This shows that the writers and decision makers at the time were able to sort the wheat from the chaff with feedback from test groups and could make intelligent, informed decisions
    about what was not working narratively in their product and change it for the. The way in which they did this was so effective that I literally cannot pick out or think of a single fault in the originals narrative, it's almost perfect. As were a lot of naughty dogs games. So we know that naughtydog have the means and ability to do this, or at least they DID. With tlou2 they either didn't test it or they ignored the responses of the test groups or they allowed bias to dictate who those groups consisted of to illicit a biased response from test groups to echo chamber themselves.

    3)The death was redundant narratively, any charecter could have been developed to have their death serve as a hook for the plot of this game, more than enough time passes by the time of the death and the charecter literally appears out of nowhere to fullfill this purpose.

    Games are art, this isn't a game, it's propaganda riding on it's scions coat tails, it's existence is an insult and a stain on the careers of everyone involved. get this garbage away from me. This isn't art.    … Expand

    Just because a story is "realistic" doesn't make it a good story. And creating a character that most players would obviously hate (no matter how justified her actions) and then forcing you to play half of the game with that character is not my idea of a fun game. I'm just not that masochistic. Extremely disappointed.

    In my opinion its 10/10rating.story is perfect,gameplay is perfect,combat fighting is perfect and the zombies as scary as before.give me one reason not to be the best??

    ambas historias me encantaron, sé que no fue del agrado de muchos este juego, pero siento que todos se fueron por una perspectiva simplista, este juego es demasiado complejo tanto como es el primero. el desarrollo de personaje de Ellie es magnífico.
    como dije del otro juego, aquí también me encantó su historia, guión, fotografía y por sobre todo el soundtrack que es maravilloso. y que decir de la jugabilidad del juego que mejoró bastante. al igual que las gráficas del juego que también mejoraron.
    me dolió mucho la muerte de Joel, pero siento que eso no arruinó el juego para nada.
    se supone que del primer juego amamos la relación entre Joel y Ellie, pero al ver como muchos dejeron tirado el juego apenas Joel murió me hace creer que realmente sólo les importaba él más no Ellie.
    en ésta ocasión vemos la historia de Ellie la cuál también importa.
    también 100% recomendado, aunque sé que talvez no sea del agrado de todos, ya que también la violencia es mucho más gráfica que la del primer juego.
    si te gustó el primer juego es posible o no que éste también te guste, pero no te dejes llevar por las malas críticas, juegalo y ahí luego tú lo calificas, pero no lo desvalores sin antes haberlo jugado. y si no te llegase a gustar la historia aún así al menos aún así lo disfrutarás en el aspecto de la jugabilidad.    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
