    good game, everyone should play it, maybe is not better than the first one, but that was obviously a complicated task. sincerily a must play. it accomplished the objective of being entertain, for the time, and the music and sound effects on surround just awesome as the graphics. hope a remastered for ps5.

The Violence in this game is the most realistic ever seen, it's brutal, could be fun for some or repulsive for others. Didn't like some decisions made in regarding of some of the beloved charactersA masterpiece in terms of gameplay and graphics, but doesn't come near the first one in terms of narrative.     I waited for this game since it was first announced in the works and tho the story may not of went completely they way I would've liked im not disappointed even in the least its an absolute tear jerking masterpiece and I'm so utterly in love with this work of art thank you to those who put the time in to make this you are so amazing

If you think any game with females who arent dainty and meek make it "SJW propoganda", then you shouldnt play this. Overall, I think it is a masterpiece.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Storywise the game is just amazing. The game really played with our feelings and showed how things were from the opposite perspective. I really loved the ending and I think it was the best choice. Abby dying wouldn't fit Ellie's character.

    The gameplay is just phenomenonal, the map gives you the feel of an open-world and there is a lot of things to explore. The environment and the ways you can react with objects is really good too.
    It really sucks that there were leaks and that helped the game get even more hate. I personally loved it and it's more than i could have asked for. Congratulations to Naughty Dog for making this masterpiece!    … Expand

    At first I thought I would give up on this game....

    After finishing the game I feel absolutely worth the time. Beautiful world, amazing gameplay, complex characters and great stories, almost better in every aspect from part I.

    No matter how angry you feel after first few hours, plz don't rage quit and finish the game. It's totally worth it.

This game goes beyond anything I've ever played to deliver a beautiful, BRUTAL, immensely emotional experience that grips you tightly and doesn't let you go until the credits start rolling. Being a HUGE TLOU fan, I knew that ND would deliver, and they did that...and so much more. I felt uncomfortable, i felt sad, i was angry, i was heartbroken, it made me more emotional than anything ever has, and I'm still recovering. The game was genius, and Ashley's acting as Ellie is top-notch, and really grabs at your heartstrings, or makes you shiver in fear( whatever her mood at that moment)The story is truly amazing, and complex, and it makes you think...A person can be a Hero to someone- but be a Villain to someone else. I love that the game touched on that- especially with the addition of the trading cards to push that notion. I'm saddened to find out that a lot of TLOU fans aren't able to really look at the bigger meaning of the plot, or understand the immaculate storytelling this game has to offer. I thought they'd be more complex than that. But a game that pushes the envelope like this one does is bound to upset a lot of dense people. It comes with the territory.     Alright well I feel as though someone needs to defend this game. I want to avoid spoilers, so I will do my best to talk about the game without mentioning any major plot points. This is a good game and there are a few reasons that I believe this to be true.

    For starters, this is the best looking game I have ever played on the PS4.     For starters, this is the best looking game I have ever played on the PS4. This is one thing that everyone should agree on because the game truly does look incredible, especially the facial animations.
    The game play is fun. I enjoy the stealth game play from both the first game, and this one. Every single encounter feels intense and dangerous because resources are so scarce. This means that you must take every encounter seriously if you want to keep your supplies and stay alive. I will admit that the aiming is wonky and annoying to use, but after a bit of practice, I started to get used to it and I was able to enjoy the game play a bit more. While it definitely isn't perfect, and not the best of all time, I enjoyed the combat and encounters, and I can confidently say it is not the terrible and glitchy mess that people are saying it is.

    Now here is where the majority of the complaints come from in this game... the story. Before I go on about what I truly think of the story, I want to put a disclaimer on this; it was not at all what I expected. Within the first few hours of the game something major happens, and it is not going to make people happy. Throughout the story you are able to look at the experiences of two individuals, and by doing this, NaughtyDog was able to tell a rich and thorough story. They did not give a **** what people cared about, and they gave us a long and sad story. Very little of this game is happy, and that is a good thing. They made a real story that will be looked into long after the game is out. This story is controversial, and not everyone is going to like it. It is not happy, and it does not have a happy ending, but with full confidence I can say that this story felt real. There wasn't a hero who got everything that he/she wanted, and nobody won. I think NaughtyDog wanted to make a game in their own direction, and they did not care if people were happy with their choices, because in the end, they made a story that will be remembered for far longer that any other game that has ever been released.

    To close off, if you are thinking of buying this game, I would suggest you do. I am guessing the majority of bad reviews of this game are from people who saw the spoilers and hated the way the game turned out. However, when you play the game, you learn to appreciate the direction NaughtDog took. Just don't expect the game to go your way, because I can almost guarantee it will be hard to watch what happens throughout the story, but that was what NaughtyDog wanted.    … Expand

    Gameplay - TLoU 1 but better, main additions is that now you can prone (discovered how it it actually was mid game), and you can dodge now, making melee combat ok.

    Difficult Design - this game has a lot of customization on different aspects of gameplay, resources to find, enemies awareness, limit on actions you can make (some stealth kills are not allowed on higher difficulties), how much allies will help you in combat.

    Accessibility - A lot of options on in game feedback, from itens radar to magnifying parts of the screen, ultra contrast for enemies, sound feedback. Some come really in hand.

    Subtitles - you can have subtitles yellow.

    Trophies - as a casual player this is very welcome, but can understand some people getting upset, there are no more trophies for completing the game on each difficulty, you get only one for completing the game, and now there are less stupid ones, like finding every audio interaction with npcs (thank god).

    I played almost twenty five hours for the first play through (for a linear game.... oh boy), the game seems to never and, and trying to play in one go can and probably will make you sick, so I recommend playing a In game day or so per real day (just an personal recommendation), as it will also help in getting that intense story more spaced.

    Final Thoughts - With this kind of direction I would play even if the main character was a schizophrenic clown, that in reality was a dead cat's nightmare

    i played the first game and didnt actually liked the gameplay, but the story is what makes that game still rumble in my mind to date. After reading the leaks, and watching the outrage when the game came out, i decided to watch some cutscenes on YT and i am happy i didnt preordered TLOU2. the only thing that made me love this franchise is now ruined.

    I don’t understand how people dislike the story- maybe because Part 1 was so complete and solid, it didn’t necessarily Need a sequel.

    I understand people’s critique of it being a simple revenge story. But after Joel’s death, I wanted revenge too. I hated Abby.

    But then something changed, when I played as Abby. I just wanted to stop playing so neither of them died. But I didn’t stop. And Naughty Dog rewarded me with a beautifully bleak story.

    The gameplay is solid, if not a little too familiar for its own good. But the story was perfect in my opinion.    … Expand

Y eso es lo que dicen todos, en mi opinión no es un mal juego debido a qué tiene momentos impactantes y conmovedores que te hacen reflexionar sobre si las acciones que hiciste anteriormente eran justas o no, y el final del juego te deja entender un mensaje que es el siguiente: "Ellie busco venganza y lo perdió todo" Es un final triste la verdad, pero eso no quiere decir que el juego sea malo, de lo contrario es una obra maestra. No entiendo el hecho de que hayan personas criticando el juego solo por la muerte de un personaje, aunque sí, es verdad que Joel fue el protagonista del primer juego y que hombre, creas que no que te maten a un personaje con el cuál has jugado la anterior entrega y que muera en las primeras horas de la segunda entrega a manos de una mujer musculosa y teniendo una muerte ridícula es un poco bruh, y creo que este es el motivo del hate que esta recibiendo el þitulo ya que muchas personas lo están juzgando sin apenas haberlo jugado ellos mismos y solo por esta parte de la historia me parece un poco estúpido. The game does a superb job at creating an ending in which there is no right or wrong moral answer. Leaving it up to you to ponder about the ethics of revenge and whether an eye is really worth another eye. Throughout the game I struggled with the idea of Joel being being dead and brutally killed however it did make me realise that no matter how much I loved Joel and Ellie in the first game, was Joel right for killing everyone in that hospital? Now don’t get me wrong, if it was someone I cared about that much I would have done the same thing any day but it did make me wonder is 1 life that we’re so emotionally attached to and bias towards really worth more than a vaccine that could potentially help thousands of not millions? This game did a great job at planting a seed in the players brain to make them realise that we need to recognise our own biases and that there is always more than one perspective. Incomes Abby. Now I will say I did not like her at first and even now I’m very iffy with her but I do like a few things. First of all she brings a different perspective of loss with her father being the surgeon that Joel killed and rescued Ellie from. This is interesting as it pits biological loss to socially developed loss against each other. When I realised that Ellie’s situation and Abby’s situation were the exact same it made me think about what is morally and ethically right when it comes to revenge. Abby completed her vengeance at the beginning of the game but only to lose her friends afterwords. This has a pretty meaningful message and brings up the question. Does vengeance lead to a never ending cycle of violence in which no one prospers? At the end of the game Ellie finally gets her chance to kill Abby and take her vengeance but has a flash back of Joel dying. In this flashback I believe she realised that 1. this is not what Joel would have wanted and 2. That by doing this she would become the very thing she hates, killing a protector and raiser. Now let me explain, throughout multiple cutscenes we see Ellie tackle what happened at the hospital and start to grow further away from Joel but does not do so completely. Why? Because she still has love and respect for him for what he did and that he basically raised her as evident by the Museum flash back scene, she still cherishes moments they had. By killing Abby she’s be destroying Levs parental figure and be no better than Joel for murdering the hospital in which Abby’s father was the surgeon. So she comes to the choice to let her go. Now I know I know, I felt bad letting her go but understood why Ellie did it. After all these years she finally did something that she could be proud of and that gives her life purpose. She overcame loss not by taking a life but by giving hers a new purpose. When she left that guitar behind it was an indication that she has moved on and left the past behind. Who knows what’s to come next. But one things for sure, I’m playing. Thank you so much for reading this far. Now this is just my opinion. I am not right nor am I wrong. It's Naughty Dogs, and man is it brutal, dark, and miserable. But again, that's the point. I'm just thankful they're not afraid to tell it the way they wanted it. As for the gameplay, I don't have much to say. Yeah it's more or less the same, but refined with an added layer. It worked the first time, and it's even better here. As for the environments, Naughty Dog has outdone themselves. The attention to detail is crazy. To think a designer spent weeks perfecting a room that I rushed through in 4 seconds blows my mind. The game does a good job making the environments open enough giving you multiple paths to an objective without the need for objective marker or a mini-map. I never felt lost, but at the same time I never knew exactly how I was supposed to get somewhere. Naughty Dog really found the perfect balance of making the game feel open without making it an open world game.

    I finished the game resonating with characters I originally hated, and hating characters I thought I loved, overall feeling like ****. It's a miserable story with the mechanics, environments, and acting to back it up. The game is a masterpiece. For the story, it was definitely not what I expected (for the record I tried to know the least about the game before going in). I didn’t expect Joel to die like that, but I felt it. I felt it deeply hurt. I understood why Ellie wanted revenge at the beginning. It didn’t feel right that she brutally murdered Joel and got away with it. Progressively, I saw the point of view of Abby. Then, I wasn’t so sure if I wanted revenge. When I arrived at the part where Abby saves the Seraphites children and goes back to the aquarium to see her dead friends that Ellie had killed. I asked myself if Ellie was even the ‘’good’’ one, The violence at one point was just meaningless. I kept asking myself why is this still going? Why is the WLF burning down civilian villages? For what? I didn’t know which would ‘’win’’ the fight in the theater. I didn’t know which one I wanted to win to be frank. All I knew is I wanted it to stop. I want Ellie to have her lesbian ranch paradise. I want Abby to find her people and to be happy with Lev. I didn’t care that Ellie had travelled a long way for that. I didn’t care they would’ve lost a lot for nothing. Just stop it. Right there, I had understood the moral of the story. 10/10 Best storyline in a while.

    This game is art ... I absolutely love it. The story is captivating, the fact that I have to play the villain is shocking and new. This game is dirty, frustrating and great. I like it a lot. In my opinion this is a masterpiece and gives the player a new and never seen gameplay. Of course it is a challenge to cope with all the violence, but as said before - it is art and I love it.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. People rate bombing this beautiful game haven't even played it, are going off spoilers from the internet, or are butt-hurt because a character they cared about isn't around anymore so they didn't bother to play past the first hour.

    Before the spoilers hit (which were relatively easy to avoid I might add) it was obvious from the get go based solely off of the small bits Naughty Dog gave us, that there would be a major character death early on. We knew it was a revenge story, we knew it would be bloody and brutal. What did you expect? Regardless of how predictable the main plot if the game would be (which is was, why are you surprised?) It is still a wonderful game, and the perfect way to bring the Joel/Ellie story from the first game to a close.

    The game is meant to humanize your enemies and villainize your heroes. Its shows how complicated revenge can be. How it effects everyone involved, and how it rarely turns out to be what is actually best.

    Don't listen to the negative reviews. Play the game, and build your own opinion around it. If you loved the first game, you'll love the second. Simple as that.    … Expand

    Just finished TLOU Part 2. I tried to explore as much as I could and it took about 25-30 hours. To get the most out this experience, I recommend taking your time exploring and engaging in all the optional conversations. Also, listen to some of the NPCs, they often mention cool stories.     My rating:
    Gameplay: 10/10. The improvements made in the second part might seem minimal but they make the gameplay much more fun and smoother. Some examples of these improvements: being able to jump, the character being more agile, more interactive environments, combat system is more "reactive". Also, the stealth mechanics (and to some extent the gameplay) resemble that of MGS5.
    Story:(This is the divisive part, I'm keeping this spoiler-free) I personally found the story to be intriguing, and very emotional. I felt like I understood the motivations of the characters to do what they were planning to do. I'd say that you can think of the story in 3 parts: the lore (involving the fungus cordyceps and the factions in this world), the main characters from the first game, and the new developments created in TLOU2. The lore was expanded and I really like the direction they took with it. Regarding the characters from the first game, the direction taken was something I did not expect but it made sense to me. The new "developments/characters" were also surprisingly interesting. I was able to follow the story quite easily even though I've heard some people had problems following the timeline. If you're used to movies from director Quentin Tarantino, then it should be easy to follow the story. I really enjoyed the story despite some of its sad moments. 10/10
    Graphics: 10/10.
    Survival Horror: 10/10. If you're a fan of survival horror, then this game is a must. It has some of the scariest experience(s).

    SPOILERS! Yo fui uno de los desafortunados en toparse con los leaks en Twitter, al verlos me sentí asqueado y muy decepcionado. Empero, a pesar de eso, decidí invertir mi dinero para conocer el por qué de cada decisión creativa y narrativa para poder compartir mi opinión, ya que considero que la moda actual de tirarle mierda al presente juego sin haberlo experimentado es ridícula.

    No vengo a hablarles del apartado técnico, gráfico, del gameplay, del sonido, de la banda sonora o de las interpretaciones del elenco, dichos aspectos son excelentes, de lejos lo mejor de esta generación.

    The Last of Us Part II me ofreció una de las experiencias más crudas e intensas que he experimentado dentro de un videojuego. El juego es duro, cruel, muy violento y oscuro, no teme presentar momentos y giros de guion que pueden ser considerados completamente descabellados o de mal gusto.

    Esta segunda parte juega con el tema de la venganza de una forma agridulce y muy compleja, tomando dos perspectivas distintas que nos deja en claro los estigmas, el costo, cuantas personas inocentes pueden salir afectadas y la ceguera durante tu travesía en busca de hacer justicia por mano propia.

    Por un lado, Ellie busca venganza por la brutal muerte de su figura paterna, pero a la vez se le adjunta su sentimiento de culpa por no haber tenido un momento de paz y reconciliación con Joel, cada muerte y asesinato que ejecuta la afecta psicológicamente pero su sed de venganza es más fuerte. Por el otro, tenemos a Abby, quien asesina a Joel por la muerte de su padre.

    Al tener ambos puntos de vista, nos damos cuenta de la realidad: ambas mujeres buscan la supervivencia, tienen amistades, pareja, buscan estabilidad y lo mejor para su gente. Esta venganza no es como de las famosas cintas de Hollywood, aquí no existe un villano, son personas comunes y corrientes que se encuentran en constante peligro por otros grupos sanguinarios y peligrosos.

    El final -muy polémico- me pareció brillante porque representa el cierre del círculo de la venganza. Ellie se da cuenta de que puede llegar a perdonar a Joel por una decisión tan brutal que afectó la esperanza de toda la humanidad, entonces, ¿Por qué no perdonar a esta mujer que buscaba lo mismo que ella? Ambas compartían el sentimiento de venganza y su ceguera provocó la muerte de varios amigos inocentes, si esto continuaba, ¿quiénes y cuántos serían los siguientes afectados por ese deseo?

    La última escena confirma el perdón de Ellie a Joel, dejando sus cosas, sus recuerdos y su guitarra atrás, para dar paso a lo siguiente y al fin comenzar a buscar una nueva esperanza.
