    Best game I have ever played in my life so far, it is a mixture of feelings and emotions, it is a game about much more than revenge, but about empathy, and lessons about all of that, a game that fits very well in the current times of humanity.

    Don't be a hater over the leaks it was superb. An epic game with a great intertwined story, gritty and real characters and insane gameplay/graphics and AI. Its a masterpiece and a worthy contender for best game of all time. And don't give me that "its too violent" bs. All trolls do is complain about that they want tech more real...well here it is most realistic game I've seen and I'veDon't be a hater over the leaks it was superb.     A truly ambitious and emotionally charged game. Takes actions that developers and creators rarely risk to take. This game is not a ‘happy’ or feel good game. It will make you feel sad, angry, and confused, and will put you in situations where you may question your own moral standings.

Even though i didn't like to play as her, Joel's death is not bad written, it's a cruel world, he is actually a bad person and this game gave him not plot armor. He actually got what he deserved, even if you like it or not. Don't get me wrong, it did hurt me a lot to watch him die like that, but I don't hink it was bad writing. Even if you don't empathize with Abby, the goal is not to make you feel sorry for her, but to understand her reasons. What Naughty Dogs did was kinda like playing with fire, and they kinda burnt themselves, but at the end I think they made one of the most memorable games ever.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I get it. People are gonna be upset for what they did to the characters we love. But I think what lacks on most of the bad reviewers is empathy. What would you do in Abby's place? Or Joel's? Let's see some points:
    - Joel killed a lot of people because of his strong feelings towards Ellie, since he probably saw on her the daughter he lost.
    - The doctors on the surgery room were unarmed. Joel could've just knocked them and let them live. He CHOSE to kill them.
    - Abby went for revenge. She looked for Joel and no one else. She had let all of them live.
    - Ellie, on the other side, was pure rage. She didn't want to know, she just wanted to kill Abby. If you kill to revenge, doesn't that becomes a cycle?
    - Ellie's decisions because of her blind revenge become less and less acceptable, like leaving Dina, lying to Jesse and choosing not to look for Tommy.

    When I first played Abby, I didn't want to. If people quit the game here, they are missing the whole point, which is "seeing through the other keyhole". You are playing the role of the one you're just developed so much hate too. But you start to see people caring for her, and her caring in return. She seems happy. Just like Ellie, she's part of a community. You start to see her human side. And you also start to understand how twisted these places are. Both WLFs and Seraphites. WLF are the militia. But their cause is for themselves only. The scars, as they call, are just enemies to be killed. Even if they are children. On the other side, most of the Seraphites has been using twisted concepts from their leader to justify their violent actions. I'm sure both of them were good people in the past. Abby shows a human side that most players are refusing to get. At some point, you don't want the game to proceed, but the ending was necessary.

    To the technical stuff. Thanks Gustavo Santaolalla again for an amazing Soundtrack. The game is way quieter this time but it asks for it.
    Also the graphics. It's in my opinion the best ones we have on PS4. Not just for the looks, but the details. It's sometimes even painful to kill enemies because they choke, you can see every slash, every shot. You can dismember them. When other enemies find about others death, they call for their friends. At some point I found one enemy that stopped all he was doing and started crying. Even the dogs cry for their humans. Talking about what. The combat is funnier this time. Prone, dodge and jumping were great additions. The enemies are more strategic. And different enemies require different approaches. But. I found the enemies continue to be dumb. You can run up on them, blast one or two with the shotgun, run to the grass and they'll forget you. I even tested in one fight, and with given patience, you can stealth kill all of them in the same spot. But there's only so much you can go with AI, and all games can be exploited to an extent, so that's understandable. My brother, for instance, is having a lot more trouble than me, and he's playing on normal.

    About the duration. It took me 31h48m to finish the game. But in my opinion it was necessary. There are two "campaigns" and you need them to understand the whole scope of the game.

    Talking about the new infected. I like how ND sticks to the ground instead of pulling weird shenanigans. There is a boss fight there's straight pulled from RE and its amazingly done. ND, if you ever read this, know that I'd gladly pay for an infected wave DLC.

    Talking about the characters, I've been seeing a lot of hate on the LGBT theme. And I don't understand why. Each one is understandable. Special props to Lev. Amazingly built character. If you hate the game just because of this, the problem is on you.

    In the end, The Last of Us Part II is not what we wished it happened to all of our beloved characters. But it was what needed to happen. For good or for bad. It just stole TLOU's first place as the best game I've played on my life. Thanks Naughty Dog, you've done it again.    … Expand

A lot of people either have not played or are trolls either way, you need to play the game in full to really experience how wonderful it is, you are all mad about joels death and about the game being more inclusive with showcasing diverse characters but thats another thing that makes the game so good, and people who are mad about that are just bigots, shut the hell up and enjoy this masterpiece, yes the ending is unfavourable but it opens up the oppurtunity for another installment in the series which druckman hinted at, its not joels story anymore, its about ellie now and you all knew that from the beginning and we knew joel would probably die so stop complaining, you are all boring as hell, its a good game, it was the right choice for the story continuing and it was joels time, but its not like you dont see joel, there lie plenty of opportunities to see him, calm down, and play the game in full before you give it bad reviews, its not for everyone sure but its pointless to ignore the rest of the game just cause you dont like one part.… Expand

    The gameplay is genuinely superb. There wasn't a moment where I felt fully captivated in each encounter and had a variety of options to approach. The combat system is great and provides even a small-thrilling challenge even on moderate. No game is really enjoyable if you can go through the whole game with barely a scratch.
    There were moments where I got jumped by scares and felt anxious to press forward. I loved the thrill the game provided. Most of all the game provided fluid close quarter combat. I found this to be one of the game's best new mechanics. Being able to dodge melee enemies and counter attack felt really fluid and fun. The game provides you with enough creativity when approaching different groups of hostiles.

    The story was captivating from beginning to end. In contrast to most user reviews, I grew emotionally attached to the characters. I personally was satisfied, yet unsatisfied with the ending (but in a good way). With the way the game unfolds and plays out, I felt like Naughty Dog took the best approach to end the game. I felt quite similar to the first game's ending. The characters have a lot of depth and growth as the game progresses. I found the direction of the story to be great! It was unorthodox, in that it sowed the present and past to tell a great emotional story.

    Despite what other reviews say, this game deserves the score that Naughty Dog worked so hard for. 10/10. I genuinely am saddened by the negativity user's are giving it just because the story may have not gone the way they wanted it to. Especially the negative reviews that are bashing the game solely because it contains a homosexual couple. I’m also under the impression that a lot of people who reviewed the game also didn’t finish the game. I felt like it was an authentic aspect with the characters, in no way did it feel forced. Most user reviews act like the writers pooped the bed and just developed a "fund-raiser" game. I think Naughty Dog did a phenomenal job. No game is perfect and will satisfy you in every way, but this game was extremely enjoyable and gave me a lot to think about when I wasn't playing.

    This game definitely deserves your attention and a full play through. Do I think this game is perfect? No. However, I do think this game deserves the high score with all of its production qualities, story telling mechanics, and enjoyable gameplay. I very much enjoyed this game and would put this in my PS4/Xbox One generation top 3!    … Expand

    This game takes you through so many emotions and has great character development. It has the sad and powerful elements of the first Last of Us but boosted to another level. Naughty Dog pulled out out all the stops and I am so glad they did. Truly a beautiful game.

Thanks to that, Joel's death was a huge shock and I really wanted a revenge. For me great job showing how revange and things that Ellie make change her. In the moment that she admitts to Dina that she made Nora talk was like admitting: I became a monster but I dont want to loose you. And the second character and her motives also great: from the beginning here we see how she is blinded with the wish of revenge and how revenge didnt change anything (still dreaming about the death of her father, loosing friends and love because of revenge wish and brutally killing Joel). I hated her at the beggining of the game but then I even started to like her. And the moment on the farm with Ellie and Dina: when I saw Ellie trying to sneak out in the middle of the night I was like: I love you Ellie but what the hell are you doing? Why? You want to loose everything for revenge? Stop killing. And in that moment I was tired of killing. Thats why I can understand the last fight with Abby. For me great psyhological story with many emotions.I will remember it long time and for sure play it more then twice.Dont know why people see in that political story.. Seriously: where? Because Ellie is a lesbian? We knew it from the DLC for the first part and for me it was sure that they will use it in the second. The character of Lev alias Lily? Real life but in a twisted world and this character wasnt important much for a story. They saved Abbys life, she started redemption.… Expand

    Tired of the hate and review bombing - this game is as good as the reviews say it is. These fools either are homophobic or can't get over that their views are hypocritical. There is very little separating the actions of any of these characters. Don't buy the hate and miss out on something incredibly ambitious and special.

    En jugabilidad, graficos e historia me parece alucinante. Si es verdad que quizas el final te deja con un mal sabor de boca pero no creo que sea para criticarlo tanto y si te da scuenta todos dicen el mismo argumento de que ellie mato a miles de persona para que al final no mate a abby. En mi opinion no es hasta que Ellie esta apunto de asesinar a Abby que se da cuenta que no merece la pena asesinarla ya que como se ven los flashbacks se ve que ellie se pudo personar por la muerte de Joel ya que en la granja tenia flasbacks de joel muerto y ensangrentado y al momento de casi matar a Abby tiene un recuerdo tierno de joel y ahi se da cuenta que su venganza termino    … Expand

    Increíble juego, gráficos, jugabilidad y una historia sin igual en la industria de los vídeo juegos, el estudio apostó por algo diferente y sorprendente. Nada de finales felices y todo juntos de la mano. No el juego es viceral, crudo y sobre todo muy ácido, a tal punto que cuesta digerir el final.

    The reviews are misleading. I get it. It's different. The storyline is haunting. So compelling and you cannot miss it just because some haters didn't get what they expected. Kudos to Naughty Dog for being so brave. I won't spoil anything. You just have to play it yourself. I've never played a game so immersive. Totally worth it.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The people who are complaining about the story are just children who don’t appreciate the value of good storytelling. They all want to sympathize only with the characters they knew from the first game instead of empathizing and learning about the newer characters. In the first game, obviously Joel made a very impactful decision to save Ellie. In doing so, he kills countless people who were really just trying to save their own loved ones. Now, years later, the children of the people he killed come back to kill him. It’s a simple ending of a story loop, an effect of the choices that Joel made. But instead of acknowledging this the viewers simply see a character they love being killed in a gruesome manner. It is a tragic end to his life, but at least now he is back with his family, where he belongs. He no longer has to live with that pain. Meanwhile, Abby has to learn how to live with having killed someone in such a brutal manner. It comes back to bite her as Ellie seeks the same revenge as her. The story is a very realistic, meaningful look at how all this death and suffering would affect people. Some choose to live in pain and seek vengeance while others choose to let go. If you can’t see the beauty and depth in that, then you just don’t understand pain.… Expand

One of the most profound games i’ve played. the storytelling is absolutely amazing, showing the duality and cycle of revenge in a way i don’t think i’ve ever seen. People on here saying it’s just a bad revenge story don’t get it, it shows the complexities of revenge and the different sides so beautifully. i havent cried so hard at an ending in anything ever really. i also start sobbing whenever i hear “if i ever were to lose you”. please play and decide for yourself instead of letting these reviews get you down. an absolute masterpiece.… Expand

    The game is a great game, has a lot of different mechanics and stuffs compare to the first 1 but still both of them are great games

There’s a lot of things to considerate when you talk about of a game like this, obviously is hard to get a good score when you are out of your safe zone, but there’s the magic. This game is not just Ellie going to Abby, is more than that, is to show the humanity of the people, to show you how you life could change if you follow something for a revenge. Anyone can say that The Last of Us Part II is a bad game, because is not. I’m pretty sure that everyone likes to control Ellie, the gameplay is just amazing, and yeah, it’s true, maybe some of us thing that despite the humanity of Abby, she should be dead right now but Ellie wasn’t able to do it. We expect for something else maybe on a DLC or on another part for the game. Even recognizing this the game is amazing and no one can say that in some part of the game you didn’t feel any felling about it, like angry, love, or something.     I absolutely loved this game, even though certain parts made me very uncomfortable. The story was an emotional rollercoaster and an experience I won't forget. Also, the gameplay was intense and satisfying and a definite upgrade from the first game.

    This game was a emotional roller coaster that will stick with me for the rest of my life due to the lovable characters and not so lovable. And to the greater message of the whole thing. This is an amazing play and one of the best games i have ever played

    Before I give my review of this game, I should make it very clear that this game is not SJW propaganda. There is no agenda. Any review that gives a 0 or a 1 is just not a correct review.     Before I give my review of this game, I should make it very clear that this game is not SJW propaganda. There is no agenda. Any review that gives a 0 or a 1 is just not a correct review. This game is divisive, a 3 or a 4 maybe even a 2, sure. A 0 or a 1 however, is just wrong. This is not Sonic '06, this is not E.T., this is not Mass Effect 3's ending the game. So many of these negative reviewers clearly show they have not played the game in its entirety. Know that no matter how much they read or how many clips they see, they will never understand the game unless they play it and give it a fair chance. They're not giving the game a fair chance if they just go in to hate it and self-validate their hate. Anyways, my review.

    To start, the game play builds off of the same systems and mechanics that made the first game work so well and it accomplishes its goal in seeking to improve upon all of them. It makes several refinements and adds a few very appreciated additions to traversal and combat that combined with new animations and great level design make for a highly satisfying and fluid experience.

    When it comes to the graphics and other technical aspects of the game, once again Part II improves upon its predecessor in every way possible. Visually this is by far the most beautiful and stunning game that Naughty Dog has ever made. The added benefits of HDR and a higher resolution that come from playing on PS4 Pro only make this game look that much more incredible. Moving away from just strictly visuals, the new animations that I mentioned previously are a welcome site that add to the realism of the game and I never tired of seeing them. The new physics engine in the game also seeks to help maintain immersion at all times. Last, but not least the audio design is absolutely fantastic and though it is a part of gaming that goes largely unnoticed, in The Last Of Us Part II it was so good that I couldn't help, but take notice.

    Though near everything about a video game is subjective, it is practically undeniable that everything mentioned beforehand is nothing short of an improvement on the first game. So, on to topics more subjective like music and character performances. As far as music is concerned, it is at least on par with the music in the first game meaning that it is just as powerful and effective as its ever been, Character performances are stellar and personally they exceed the brilliance of the performances from the last game. With some of the best motion capture and animation in gaming, The Last Of Us Part II is able to display facial and physical emotion like no game has ever done before.

    Now on to the story. The story is not fun to play through, but that doesn't stop the actual narrative from being a phenomenal achievement in storytelling. The writing of this game is undoubtedly excellent and it never falters in trying to tell the story it wants to be told. This game does things that no other game has ever been able to do before. It engaged me emotionally, physically, and mentally like no game has ever done before. It provides a unique experience completely different from the one provided by the first game and very much like that experience, The Last Of Us Part II can never be replicated.

    Ultimately, The Last Of Us Part II transcended how video games can make a player feel and it will be talked about for years and years to come. It is truly an experience like no other. It is a violent, vile, intense, hate-filled, and abusive experience that was constantly attacking my senses, and I loved every bit of it.    … Expand

    Amazing game. For people who actually played it, I’m sure it they feel the same way. Not the people that didn’t even play it but simply gave it a low score just because there’s gay characters in it. Sad little people. I loved this game as much as the first one. Incredible. Credits to all the writers, developers, director, and everyone else!

It deserve better place then the current public reviews. And the developers and artists deserve an applause for their hard works and sacrifices. The story, yes, I got heartbreak in the first few hours, and yes, I hate Abby every bit even to the end. But the ending do make sense. I actually felt a bit joy for the ending, not because Abby live or Ellie forgive... it doesn't matter, I don't even think Ellie has forgave Abby. I felt joy because Joel's life had fulfilled. He got the chance to heard the words that many in real life couldn't, and from there, his story has completed. When I finished the game, I felt sad and emotional, but also amazed by its beauty like I was in first game, and Part 2 got me even further then the first. I disagree to many that a game must be entertained and happy, because that will let us lost the chance to get a good and true story.… Expand

    It was a very good game that made you feel terrible the entire game. I think it shows that there is two sides to every story and I feel bad for both but that’s the point. I think they did almost every aspect of this game very well. It’s not better than the first game but it’s really good and you should at least try it.

    I cryd a few times because the Story is so deep and you feel with the Characters. You feel the pain and the madness of Elli. A another Point is absolutely fantastic you see the Story from different Sites and because of this you understand why these people do this Things and at the End the hole Story makes sense. For me its the best game I've ever seen before.

But that is not why this game is getting trashed by users. Several do not like the story, and I could not disagree more. Is it sad and outright brutal? Yes. Does Ellie seem like a good person? No, not really. She's not the kid you met in part 1.

    I think the writers were very bold, which is why people do not like it. The story is certainly no fairy tale with a happy ending, which it seems like users wanted. In this game, you get to experience and feel the struggle Ellie endures. You also get to spend nearly half the game in Abby's perspective, the antagonist (or so you think). It is a pretty unique way to write a story, which shows the world is not black and white. There is no good versus evil. It all depends on the perspective, which I think is fascinating.

    I think the character development is really good, although not excellent. You get to see what each person struggles with, and what they have had to endure in such a brutal world. I never really felt myself "falling in love" with characters like in Part 1, but nonetheless, I think it is solid. I will definitely be replaying this soon to take a deeper dive into the characters.

    If you want a game where you love everything that happens, you totally support everything the main character is doing, and get a happy ending, then this game is not for you. But if you can look past that, and understand that people will do what they must to survive in such a brutal world, or fight with themselves in a battle with revenge, then you will really appreciate this game. I can see why this game is so divisive. Perhaps the world was not ready for such a bold story line. I think this is a game that will age well and people may not understand the brilliance of the story for years.    … Expand

    Un videojuego divertido. Sin duda me ha logrado entretener tanto como el primero. Si bien esta secuela ha carecido de esa gran historia que nos presentó el juego original; aún es un juego sumamente disfrutable. Recomendable para todos los fans, sin llegar a ser un juego brillante o que merezca una nominación al GOTY

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
