    Superbly done. Preferred the first one but this one had me gripped from start to finish. Ignore the low overall score for now.... it's all just Xbox and PC players hating on PlayStation!!

    This game is a true masterpiece. Plot is really hard and it makes you empty inside in a final. How many emotions I got in this game, just a WOW. I wanna say "thank you" to the ND. And sure, no discussion about gameplay and graphics. Just a 12/10.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I played this game on Survivor my first playthrough and it lasted about 37 hours for me. The game looks and sounds amazing. The soundtrack is also superb and definitely worth listening to on it's own.It also plays so much smoother then the first. As for the story, I waited 7 long years, as did lot of others, to see what direction the story would go. And personally enjoyed the story slightly more than the first. It felt more emotionally grounded and you felt every major death as if you experienced it yourself. Naughty dog had made us aware from the reveal how different this game would be thematically than the first .The ending was just as ambiguous and somber as the first if not more and just shows you dont always get what you want no matter how bad you want it.… Expand

Joel's death is a powerful motivator for Ellie (and for us gamers) to want to avenge Joel's death. What Ellie and Abby learn at the end is that vengeance comes at a stiff price. Ellie and Abby both lost everything and everyone they loved.

    It didn't have a happy ending.I liked the ending, which I think is going to lead up to a 3rd chapter at some point on the PS5. I am hoping they have some DLC soon to close some loops like where did Dina and the baby go.    … Expand

    Probably with best game of the generation. I loved everything about it, the story, gameplay, the very intense moments and the ending. I definitely think this masterpiece should win game of the year.10/10 Don’t listen to the haters, try it out for yourselves before u judge it.

    Thank you Naughty Dog for telling such an honest and gruesome tale, it honestly is the best game I have ever played. Never have I played a game, or even watched a TV show/movie that has made me feel so much.

    I would compare the Joel death scene to that of the Red Wedding from GoT. They both were horrific and made you sick to the stomach. Shortly after playing this, once going through his house and things I had to call it a night. I sobbed so much that I couldnt physically play any further.

    What people need to remember when it comes to this game is that it is set 20 odd years into an apocalypse. Everyone is out for themselves and Joel done some pretty awful things. He redeemed himself but with the enemies he had made this was bound to happen. Joel dying sets up the whole premise of the game, in that moment I felt exactly how Ellie felt, helpless, angry and f**king heartbroken. Ellies journey from this point is kinda how I'd imagine dealing with any death feels, you see her go through emotions and act recklessly and violently. Even at the end when she has everything, she cant beat the need for revenge, and in the closing scenes, when she chooses forgiveness, even at a cost it seems like closure and it hit me really hard.

    No matter how angry you felt, I really cannot fathom how you could overlook the rest of the game. The mechanics, graphics, story, the open world segments and the notes left behind. Right down to upgrading your weapon the animation looks incredible.

    It is extremely well written, you see hints of story intertwining with one another, character development and can you even comprehend the imagination it would have took to create this story with all its nooks and crannies? It really has blown me away and I wont change my mind because Joel died, heck the revenge story wouldnt have felt like much if it was a newly introduced character that was killed. It had to be Joel, it had to get you absolutely furious.

    Onto the graphics and mechanical aspects of the game, I really suggest you take moments to look at the snow falling from the trees or the wind through the grass, even the rain hitting the concrete looks incredible. In the words of Keanu Reeves, its breathtaking. The gameplay feels far from clunky and it all seems to come together in perfect harmony.

    I'm not sure if anyone will see this review. But if you do, just give it a chance, it will change your life.

    From the death of Joel to the gameplay with Abby, this game is an absolutely beautiful and has a great story, it may end in a very sad or upsetting way, but it was an appropriate ending for this game.

Ich habe mir viele 0 Punkte Bewertungen durchgelesen und daraus konnte man ansich 3 Punkte sehr gut herauslösen. Einmal die Homosexualität, die Gewalt und das angeblich schlechte Storytelling und die Story selbst. Zu Punkt 1, was soll ich da sagen, einerseits war da echt viel sexistische scheiße bei aber abseits davon macht das Story und Gameplaymäßig überhauor keinen unterschied. Wäre Dina jetzt ein Mann, wär sie ja logischerweiße nicht schwanger aber man hötte bestimmt irgendne andere möglichkeit gehapt des die Person dann im Theater hätte bleiben müssen also gameplay mäßig isses echt kein Argument. Das einzige waa in der Story anders wäre, wäre dieses eine zwischen "Level" wo man mit Ellie, dem Kind und Dina im Haus wäre abee das Kind hat jetzt nicht soviel da ausgemacht, das war nur um der ihre jetztige Situation zu verdeutlichen. Emotional war das einzige was mich da besonders mitgenommen hat der name J.J weil ich mir für mich gesagt habe des siw uhn entweder nach Joel oder Jesse benannt haben. Zur Gewalt kann man nur sagen ja, das ist nunmal realistisch, Menschen sind grausam, vorallem in so harten Zeiten wie in dem Spiel. Das Spiel ist ja nicht ohne Grund FSK 18 und auserdem ist diese Brutalität auch ein wichtiges Mittel um die Atmosphäre dieser düsteren und brutalen Welt dazustellen. Desweiteren hat Joels tod, über den sich auch massiv beschwerd wurde, genau das erreicht was er sollte, er hat dem Spiel unglaublich viele emotionen der Spieler geschenkt was sich ja auch in den ganzen kritiken äußert, niemand hätte sich beschwerd wenns ihm egal wäre. Und diese Emotionen wurden auch immer in diesen flashbacks aufrechterhalten zusammen mit Ellies veränderung wo ich mir manchmal gedacht habe ach du scheiße was ist nur aus der kleinen Ellie geworden. Am Anfang habe ich Abby absolut nicht leiden können und nach der Szene wo sie Jesse erschossen hatte, der mir jetzt garnichtmal so wichtig war aber allein die tatsache des sie Ellie alles nimmt(ebenso wie Joel im ersten teil in Form von Tess und Sarah alles genommen wurde), hatte ich überhaupt keine Lust sie zu spielen. Aber wenn man dan mal dran ist und sieht was sie alles in der Zeit gemacht hat, wo man eigendlich dachte sie würde nur andere verletzen, ist sie mir am Ende echt ans Herz gewachsen weil sie sich eigendlich viel besser verhällt als Ellie. Vorallem da wo sie sie verschont, ich bin sicher Ellie hättw sie getötet obwohl sie beide ihren Vater und viele ihrer Freunde verloren haben. Das hat bei mir dazu gefühlt des ich am ende hin und hergerissen war zwischen beiden fraun und ich mir einfach gedacht hab bitte last es doch jetzt einfach gut sein. Und eben das ist es was das spiel erreichen und was es sein wollte. Dieses Spiel nimmt einen Emotional auf einer anderen Ebene mit und ob man den Twist jetzt mochte oder nicht, allein das macht es schon unglaublich.… Expand

    Amazing game, the narrative it's so exceptional in the industry, the graphics are the top of what this generation can offer, and the gameplay are so great, movements are so organic, smoot and also very explicit in terms of realism and violence.

    Definitely this is a serious candidate to Game of The Year.

    I can rave about the attention to detail, the world, and the combat, but the story is where The Last of Us Part II sets a new bar. It is more about challenging your heart than your reflexes, and I simply cannot recommend it enough. There is much to be said about this game that can’t be said here due to spoilers, but you should play it as soon as you can with as little info as possible. But you don’t need to know specifics to appreciate how the gameplay and environmental cues all play into a single purpose: They make you feel the choices, helplessness, and the violence at the heart of this world and its characters.     As a fan of the first game, I held this one to an extremely high standard. It has met those standards is nearly all the areas. The mechanics of combat stealth had an overhaul anyone who says its the same is lying its completely changed from the first game. I loved this game however there was a bit of what seemed to be Filler missions which felt like it was just meant to extend play time.     The Last of Us Part 2 is a great game and a tough story. This game is a work of art, leading to catharsis, and leaving devastated. Amazing Naughty Dog. I really hope that all this persecution will not affect your creative process, and you will give the world more than one such story. Bravo!

And I'm having the big sad because of peaple that couldn't appreciate something new amd didn't understand the theme of the game and why Joel was killed and why we paly as Abby 50% of the game. Which is "one of" the most powerful "elements if you will" for our survival and longevity as Human Beings.

    The Last Of Us 2 is much more than "just a game" to me... It's a 3-D digital-reality that tries to imitate Reality... but one can clearly feel an almost out of body experience while being immersed in its world. As if the game is invoking something more... pushing outward or drawing inward from a 5th dimension a.k.a "Hypercube" ripping into the fabric of our Reality.
    It brilliantly succeeds in "not imitating" but rather "Emulating" a probable but terrifying "what if?" future of Reality!

As someone who played the first game three times I think I have a right to give my opinion on this and I must say I found it incredible. I think people are just salty about Joel's death so they decided to megabomb cancel the game. There's aren't any plotholes there are just butthurt fanboys who are pissed that their favourite character died. I think his death was something which was necesary to get the story moving and for every seen we see Joel in (however few there may be) they are emotionally moving and help further drive the plot. This game is incredible hands downs and deserves none of the hate it is currently getting.… Expand

    I love this game. The graphics, the physics, the story all of them ... wonderfull. I finish about 27 hours, now i enjoy what is see in my soul and some days later i restart the game in new game+ mode.
    I think that more better then my favourite game, the first episode. Evry thing better in this game than the part one.

    All I have yo say is most people negatively reviewing this game are just bitter that the critics reviewed it so highly even tho they didn’t like the leaks and some haven’t even the fineshed the game.
    What I believe is this game is a masterpiece and a emotional rollercoaster which I enjoyed so so much. The ending has a deep meaning to it which most people didn’t get. Must play

    This game is amazing! It is never easy for a sequel to be better or even come close to living up the original. The game is graphically beautiful, exciting, fun, nerve wracking and every bit as well thought out and great as the original. I never review anything but, the negative feedback for this game seems to come from an unknown agenda and not an honest review if the game and that is sad.This game is amazing!     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I don't know what to say... I loved the first game, in my opinion, it was great. The story was so well written and deep, it really got into your heart. How to story played out, you could really feel like, you would have made the same decisions as Joel did, especially in the end. After losing his daughter, and the amount of time he had spent with Ellie, he really looked at her like his OWN daughter and he would have done anything to protect her. The gameplay was also nice and the graphics were awesome too.
    The game was story-driven, it had amazing characters and an amazing story, and these are the two components which made the game being liked by soooo many people.
    When they announced that a second part was coming, I was so excited, I wanted to see the two characters, I really got to love during the first game, appear again and have another great adventure/journey together.
    I had no problem with Ellie being the main protagonist, I thought "that's cool, this time Joel will be the one accompanying her and not vice-versa"
    I also had no problem with Ellie having a relationship with Dina, they look so cute together.
    I also had no problem, when they announced Abby, and that we will be playing with her as well.
    I was like "okay, that's cool too, I'm sure that she is connected to Ellie or to Joel somehow, and that's why they are introducing her"
    I prepared myself for the release, I said to myself "I'm gonna stay up and watch the whole game no matter how long it takes"
    By the time I got to the end, I was shocked... I did not belive it at first.
    You are 20 minutes or so into the game and they frekain. kill. Joel, who was the main protagonist in the first game, the one who was loved by the whole gaming community
    I don't have a problem with Joel being killed, I think the community already knew this, I mean they were prepared for Joel being killed at somepoint
    But. Not. Like. This. He died like a freaking noob who just started surviving in a world which made a lot of people crazy and greedy towards others.
    Why would he die like that? He is old, he has been surviving in this world for who knows how long, and he and his brother have just met a group of strangers, and they tell them their NAME?!
    Why on Earth would they do that?!
    Time passes, and the game forces you to play with Abby, for half of the game and the developers expect the players to feel sorry for Abby, just because his father was killed by Joel, and she got her revenge. She is NOT a likeable character, AT ALL. Putting aside all the gender and sexuality things, she kills the ONE PERSON who we loved so much and they want us to feel her sadness and motivations why she was like that and why she did it.
    The developers put Ellie and Joel in the villain role, like they are the bad guys, doing terrible things and just... hurting others.
    Don't tell the players they can't play this game with a "closed-mind". Nobody, I repeat, NOBODY is going to like Abby.
    And then the Ending... oh god... this could take up a whole another topic.
    After Joel's death, Ellie swears vengence, saying she will kill every one of them, so she does with everyone BUT Abby.
    After the game forces you to play as Abby and try to kill Ellie, the screen goes black and just random months pass. like... wut...?
    And then Ellie sets out to finally get her revenge on Abby, finds her, helps her get to the boats so they can escape, but then challenges her to a fist fight, finally settling the score between the two of them.
    Ellie has the upper hand, starts choking Abby underneath the water, then gets a flashback on Joel, and then randomly releases Abby and lets her go...
    Then Ellie returns home, hoping that she will find Dina and their child, but finds nothing. Oh and she also loses the last memory of Joel, the guitar (she can't play it, because Abby bit off two of Ellie's fingers), and then just starts walking out the farm...
    In a game, where the story and the characters make the game great, you need to have a great story and loveable characters, but the developers failed to deliver
    The whole story makes no sense. This is not how we got to know Joel and Ellie, they would never have done such things.
    Then the devs come and be like, "We don't understand why players don't like the game", even calling us incels...
    Like really? You are making a game, which has an audience, then you decide to put your own political and sexual perspectives on the game, going so far as insulting your own audience.
    Suprised people wanting to refund the game?
    A game is made to entertain people, not to teach politics and gender/sexual equality. Everyone has their own opinion about the last two things, you have no right to change that and shouldn't try forcing your own on others.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Last of us Part 2 is definitely different game in terms of its story telling than we have been seeing in this medium. It starts with one of the most divisive choice which is killing an iconic character in a **** way imaginable. I was angry and frustrated with the game at that point with this decision. Nevertheless I continued to play game and character are just dying all around you and it got me more angry with this decision. Then i played another side with so much hate that i was constantly killing her intentionally to quench my thirst of anger. I continued on and same happens here characters are just dying. Then something clicked, its not the **** deaths that is happening, its the **** world that characters are living in. Every character either loving or hateful are living in this world where most of the humans know only one emotion, HATE. But there are moments in the game that tells us Love exists in this world. Now the most important part, Naughty Dog showed one thing if someone dies you love, you want revenge no matter the cost. And that's where ending sucked for everyone. It went from 6 or 7 to 0 for most people for the ending because they didn't get what they wanted for 25 hours.
    And I would like to congratulate ND for showing what hate means in real world. They showed us that people want revenge no matter the cost. I watched a lot of streams, every people was hating ABBY so much in first minute as we play her. They were no ready to see what she is. That blind hate killed everything for everyone. They just want to kill Abby no matter if she also lost her dad, friends, lover. At the end when she spared Dina, Ellie and don't want to fight because she has only one thing worth living, Lev. Joel killed Abby's dad and Ellie killed everyone Abby cared for. Now if we can forgive or try to forgive what Joel did, why cant Ellie do the same for Abby.
    This game is all about story telling like The Vanishing of Ethan Carter which is made more interactive by adding outstanding visuals, audio, animation, game play and acting.
    Don't get me wrong game has pacing issues because its longer and semi open world environment. Sometimes, it drags out a little bit. But at the end, if your anger for killing Joel has not died this was not for you.
    If you want me to rate the game on game parts, they are as follows
    1) Story: Pacing issues but liking or hating the overall story depends on your thinking about the term HATE.
    2) Visuals/Audio- Best Visuals on PS4 including animation and very solid sound and audio designs.
    3) Acting: Best Actors on game industry are in this game, Troy Baker, Ashley and Laura Bailey. There are no weakness on the acting aspects of the game.
    4) Characters: All of them are interesting and I would say at least try to give them a chance without hate.
    Last but not least, The Last of Us part 2 is my masterpiece in gaming. I welcome all the hate from other users and other users that going to hate them, because you know what it will continue and this is the **** world i live in.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. i don't even think of this simply as a "game" it was an incredible emotional and physical journey about human emotion, from hate to love, and intrapersonal reflexions. i felt everything the game wanted me to feel, the grief, the sadness, the raw anger, the fear, the desperation, the love, the forgiveness, and the reconciliation with one's self. Definitely would've love to play more with Ellie, since it's the main character and the one in the cover of the game, but still this was an incredible experience.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Que jogo meus amigos, cada detalhe muito bem pensado na história, no gráfico, na ambientação, estou sem palavras para explicar o quanto esse jogo me impressionou e ansioso para saber como o jogo ficará no PS5.

    Entendo que muitos não gostaram da morte do Joel, também não fiquei, mas achei totalmente justificável com as ações dele no final do primeiro jogo, a atitude do nosso querido Joel infelizmente acarretou a extinção da unica esperança de cura que o mundo teria. Eu teria feito o meso que ele? Sem dúvidas, mas não é de se surpreender que alguém queria mata-lo por causa disso, ainda mais a Abby que teve mais um fator de que o médico responsável era o seu pai. Ponto justificado da morte do Joel, continuamos a avaliação do jogo.

    O gráfico meus amigos, cada detalhe de movimentação, pequenas marcas nos rostos dos personagens, praticamente tudo nesse jogo é surpreendente a ponto de toda vez que você notar um detalhe sair espontaneamente de sua boca um "UAU".

    A profundidade que a história deu aos personagens, suas atitudes, consequências e até jeitos no andar deram uma humanizada absurda, a ponto de criarmos afeto ao personagem.

    Vale mencionar que o ponto de jogarmos com a Abby todos os dias em que a Ellie estava em Seattle foi uma ótima estratégia. Vimos que Abby no final de contas, mesmo matando o Joel de forma cruel, era uma pessoa boa a sua comunidade e lutava pelo justo, mesmo com a busca pela vingança de seu pai.

    As lutas que temos com a Ellie são de partir o coração, a todo momento fiquei pensando (mano, não quero bater nela, para com isso), mas novamente justificável por toda a trajetória que passamos com a Abby, novamente teria feito o mesmo.

    Gostei do jeito em que aprofundaram o irmão de Joel, Tommy, fiquei bastante feliz ao ver que o atirador de elite na passarela que não errava uma e usava a estratégia para parar Abby era na verdade ele.

    Sofri poucos bugs durante o jogo que não atrapalharam a minha experiencia, uma porta que não se abriu de primeira e renderização de poucas placas durante o andar do game, mas para mim é justificável pela grandeza dos cenários e detalhes programados, sem dúvida passaria um bugzinho ou outro.

    Vale mencionar que o fim do game, na minha opinião, deixou a Ellie sem um propósito, algo que achei um pouco ruim, mas espero que caso saia um terceiro ela encontre o propósito nos Vagalumes.

    Por fim, história 10/10, gráficos 10/10, soundtrack 10/10 e jogabilidade 10/10.    … Expand

    Empezaré diciendo que esta secuela no es de 10, pero lo puntuaré como tal dado que el juego tampoco es de 3 como muchos lo están puntuando. Entiendo que haya mucha gente que no esté de acuerdo con muchas de las decisiones tomadas en lo largo del desarrollo del videojuego; está claro que hacer una secuela de una obra maestra como era el primero con un final cerrado y consolidado es muyEmpezaré diciendo que esta secuela no es de 10, pero lo puntuaré como tal dado que el juego tampoco es de 3 como muchos lo están puntuando. Entiendo que haya mucha gente que no esté de acuerdo con muchas de las decisiones tomadas en lo largo del desarrollo del videojuego; está claro que hacer una secuela de una obra maestra como era el primero con un final cerrado y consolidado es muy difícil dado que a no todo el mundo le va a gustar el ritmo u orientación de la secuela. En relación al "review bombing" que se le ha estado haciendo, lo veo algo innecesario, ¿por qué debería de considerarse que el videojuego posee una agenda política o es propagandista?, ¿por contener un personaje homosexual que ya se venía sabiendo desde 2013?, ¿por la aparición de un personaje que está en desacuerdo con las actividades que se le otorga debido a su género y, por lo tanto, decide raparse la cabeza? o, ¿porque se menciona que un personaje es judío y su linaje sobrevivió a la Segunda Guerra Mundial? Todas estas críticas mencionadas carecen de sentido dado que durante el transcurso del videojuego no se nota que estén introducidas con calzador, dado que no afecta en nada el desarrollo de la trama. Realmente esta tormenta de malas críticas es un hecho desafortunado que se suma a la larga lista de "errores" que ha cometido Naughty Dog durante el periodo de promoción del mismo; en esta lista podemos encontrar un par de retrasos (ya sea porque el juego necesitaba pulirse o por culpa del Covid-19), incesables críticas debidas a la práctica del "crunch" que ha supuesto la realización de este triple A e incluso la filtración masiva de la historia y/o gameplay que comprometiese, para muchos, el hecho de llegar a esta obra sin conocer ningún detalle de la misma.
    El desarrollo de la historia es algo "diferente" de lo que me esperaba; pero una vez finalizado el videojuego, comprendo la decisión de este tipo de "storytelling". Naughty Dog lleva mencionando durante mucho tiempo que en esta secuela se quieren centrar en lo que supone vivir en un mundo de estas características, el hecho de que ni el bueno es tan bueno, ni el malo es tan malo y el hecho de que todo lo que hacemos conlleva ciertas consecuencias para bien o para mal, por lo que finalmente si se puede llegar a comprender dicha decisión de contar la historia. Principalmente no me gustó este modo de contar la historia, pero finalmente sí que pude apreciarla, es cierto que no reinventa la narrativa ni innova en "storytelling", pero sí que sirve para conseguir el propósito de hacerte sentir que lo que matas no son simples pixeles, sino personas con vida y familia propia.
    En relación al desarrollo de personajes... No se profundiza tanto como en el primero, pero ni de broma. Si que cuenta con un desarrollo aceptable, donde entiendes y comprendes las motivaciones de cada uno de los personajes para actuar pero, de todas formas, al igual que ocurría con la historia, se podría haber replanteado de otras maneras más "órganicas".
    Si bien la historia y desarrollo de personajes no supone esa perfección de la cual ya es característica la primera entrega, donde realmente esta secuela realmente saca músculo es en su apartado técnico, repleto de escenarios magistrales y animaciones y expresiones faciales descabelladas, donde las personas que se encuentran en el universo de TLOU parecen realmente personas metidas dentro de la consola, lo que hace que se aleje esa idea preconcebida de matar simples píxeles inanimados.
    En cuanto al gameplay se refiere... Es cierto que no encontramos una gran innovación, pero sí que encontramos la suficiente como para distinguirla del primero. Se introducen tres nuevas mecánicas que consigue abrir un gran abanico en cuanto a resolución de situaciones se refiere. Estamos hablando del hecho de poder tirarse a tierra, poder esquivar y poder saltar. En cuanto al hecho de poder tirarnos al suelo, abre todo un mundo de posibilidades, tanto en sigilo como en exploración. En cuanto a poder esquivar, Ellie es muy ágil y esto se demuestra en esta acción, haciendo mucho más dinámica la opción del combate que en el primero. Y, por último, el hecho de poder saltar, gracias a esta nueva mecánica, se abre una nueva dimensión que el primero no poseía, la verticalidad, pudiendo afrontar de distintas maneras un mismo nivel. En cuanto al resto de gameplay, permanece similar al primero pero... si lo de antes funcionaba, ¿para qué cambiarlo?
    En definitiva, esta secuela no es la obra maestra que muchos anhelaban, pero tampoco ha supuesto el desastre catastrófico del que muchos hacen mención. Tiene sus cosas buenas y sus cosas malas, por lo que te puede gustar más o te puede gustar menos. Con el tiempo se hará justicia y se conseguirá mirar con ojos distintos a la historia y donde se consiga entender que el propósito de los desarrolladores ha sido alcanzado. This game is a 7 at worst which is still good. This is last season of GOT all over again. Getting old...hope it’s just a phase. We can be better!!!

    It's an awesome game. That being said, it also tries to be a piece of art in using different approaches to tell a story. Great art is always controversial so it's understandable that some people hate it for not re-telling the bubbly Father&daughter-bonding story again that was very easy to relate to. If you appreciate art because you're interested in of what the artist wants to tell you,It's an awesome game.     I honestly cannot understand all of the negative reviews that The Last of Us Part II is getting and it shocks me that true LoU fans cannot get past the intense/controversial moments and respect and appreciate the team taking the story in a different direction to evolve the characters and world in a way that they reasonably would if this was real life. I tend to be an optimist, but I can't disagree that these sorts of events, factions and emotions would arise in a post apocalyptic style world. You may not like it, or agree with it, but you can't deny that this type of tension between surviving humans could happen and that the toll that takes on our beloved characters could change them in ways we may struggle with looking from the outside in. Coming online to bash a game that so many people dedicated 100s of hours of their lives to because within your first few hours with the game you didn't like some of the narrative choices or character developments just blows my mind and seems so shallow and immature.

    The game immediately drew me back into that hostile world from nearly a decade ago and I genuinely wanted to explore every inch of the environments that the team brought to life. Every detail of each scene, room, building, etc. was thoroughly thought through and you can tell that everyone involved soaked their hearts into designing a world that is believable.

    Yes the game is dark at times, and tough to get through, but that's how you know it's compelling. If a game can make you squirm, tense up, cry, laugh and literally just stare in amazement, it's a testament to a well written and designed game that draws you in emotionally as a player. Each cut scene had my full attention and even though some of the tougher moments were difficult to play or watch, I knew I had to see the story to the end. And to all the critics slamming the team for building SJW themes into a game, get over it, it's 2020. I even dislike having to put the term 'SJW' into my review because if having strong female characters and LBGTQ sexual orientations or gender identities in a video game is considered "social justice" we have a much bigger problem in our contemporary world even without an apocalyptic event occurring.

    To Halley and Neil and the rest of the Naughty Dog crew, please know that the a vast majority of the LoU audience is more mature than this and a lot of us can take the emotional toll that the game places on us to be rewarded with something that's unique, thought provoking and immersive. We can understand how tough some of these decisions must have been to make, but also can understand why they were done. Please don't ever shy away from telling the compelling stories you want to, or building the characters that you feel are appropriate regardless of what the masses want - that's ultimately what will continue to allow the gaming world to evolve. It's what made us fall in love with TLoU Part I and it's what has made me love Part II. Thank you for the incredible effort put into this story and game.    … Expand

Le seul problème pour les gens sera d'accepter ce qui va se passer dans ce scénario beaucoup plus sombre que le premier... je suis un grand fan de the last of us et il faut voir ces deux jeux comme deux histoires séparées tournant autour d'une relation forte.     The story is great, the gameplay is great. The game looks beautiful and it plays smoothly. Overall I loved it and enjoyed it as much as I expected!

    Incrível, extremamente tocante, melhor história dos últimos 2 anos. O jogo toca em assuntos importantes, cria uma ambientação incrível com uma tensão extrema sem ser exagerada, de fato, um dos melhores jogos da geração.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I would like to just let you all know, those bad reviews written on June 19th when the game was just released and players probably only played 2 hours of the game should be totally ignored.

    I have finished the game and I can say, with confidence, that this game is a masterpiece. Yes it has a lot of moments in the story we would have liked not happening, but let's face it, the world of TLOU is cruel, is dark and it's realistic.

    Ellie makes weird decisions that can be seen as unnecessary or dramatics, but I honestly think, placing ourselves on her shoes, this girl has gone through hell and back. She has lost her friends and family and was born on this crazy world filled with monsters and people killing people to survive. She is hurt, she is traumatized and we can see this towards the end of the game.

    We don't deserve Ellie. She is strong, she is the embodiment of lost and suffering, and still she is a fun charismatic character in the story. She is seeking revenge, and it's valid, she was angry with Joel for something totally unnecessary, she lost him without being able to fix their issues. She feels committed to seek revenge because of this. It makes sense.

    Abby, her back story, it's so raw. Ellie takes away from her, basically everything doesn't she? Is her reason to kill Joel valid? YES! He did not only kill her Father, he took the chance of a cure away from humanity! Do we support Joel's decision on saving Ellie on the first game? We did, but just like Abby tells her Father, if it was her she would have liked him to sacrifice her to save humanity, and Ellie feels the same doesn't she?
    Abby is such a strong and interesting character, she has lost her father, the man she loves who got another girl pregnant and still she is there. She has a heart, she saves Lev and Yara and forgives Ellie's life, even after they almost kill each other and Ellie has taken everything away from her. I respect her 100%. I must say, I didn't want to like her, but I ended up really understanding her and her motives.

    The game itself it's to play, the story, its darkness, facing decision you must make (having to fight against Ellie had me tearing up) but this is the story this characters are living in. What's bad? The game can be exhausting. You feel like it's going to end and it keeps going. After playing with Ellie on the farm, you believe it's all over and the game just keep going.

    The gameplay, it's pretty much the same as the one on the first game, of course new abilities are added given character's size and strength. But overall you do feel familiarity and continuity with the first game.

    Overall, I loved this game, it's so worth playing, it's too long but you love it. I recommend it 100% and I am thankful with the amount of work Naughty Dog invested on this masterpiece.    … Expand

    Incredible in every way. The story, the characters, gameplay and the graphics are unlike anything seen in a game before. This is the new benchmark for how fantastic a video game can be. Every AAA game will get compared to this for the next 10 years.

    Simply one of the best storytelling in video games or else and one of the best video games in a console generation. Well done Naughty Dog team and Neil Druckmann. Absolute masterpiece. Solid non-linear storytelling, narrative, inspiring soundtrack, best overall graphics and sound effect. This will live forever.

    Good game although they say that it has an agenda but mine does not bring just the beginning and I am really enjoying it because there are shots and horses come out and I like horses. Every aspect of the game was beautiful, the fact that the person that you made hero from became someone else villain, and that actions have consequences. Moreover, through the game the tension and hate was all over the story and it was way outside of people's comfort zone by making you play against the character that you loved in first episode and make you to break that view and understand how they actually damage other people.
    This game is brutal with some beautiful moments. At the end also by giving the power of killing and revenge to Ellie and Abby(in cinema) and how they forgive the other person they tried to give good feeling about each character to the audience in the darkest way possible, which shows they can be monster and kill but they choose not to.
    Amazing job from Naughty dog for not following any cliche and focused on developing great story. PLAY THIS GAME WITH OPEN MIND IT GONNA TAKE YOU WAY OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE.    … Expand

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
