Pra quem quiser ver minha gamertag ( joaovitormk9 ) ta aí.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. (SPOILERS!!!) To be honest... I REALLY love the game... The way they mirror Ellie's story to Abby's and make you feel for both of them... Of course in the beginning when i was playing as Abby in Seattle i didn't like it at all. I was just mad at her for what she did, but playing more and more with her and seeing what gave her that kind of hate, i felt that for her as well... I am not saying i liked her more than Ellie, because Ellie is the character we all know and love. And i totally felt more for her with the things that happened in the beginning of the game with Joel's death of course (which really broke my heart)... But after playing through Ellie's part of the story made it a bit softer with every kill from the people of the group in Jackson, and by the time we were playing as Abby i hated her, but seeing the bigger picture and looking back after finishing the game i see why they both did what they did... So yeah... I LOVE THIS GAME... Everything is just so well crafted from how the story ties in to the game play... Just wow... Good job Naughty Dog!! Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I just have to give it to Naughty Dog, they've really done it. Like most people I loved the first game and the story of Joel going from father to a selfish monster to a human being again at the end. A human being that ..as we all know dooms all of humanity when he slaughters the few good people left in the world that is actually trying to develop a cure. The way Naughty Dog was still able to make us somewhat agree with Joels horrific decision is truly an achievement on it's own. On to the part 2. In many ways this game made me thing of the excellent film "Sympathy For Mr Vengeance" and "Old Boy", 2 out of 3 films in Park Chan-wooks trilogy of revenge. It starts out simple with our protagonist seeking revenge from a perspective we know, but then shifts this perspective to a completely new one that shines a new light on the characters involved. We get to learn that Joels killer isn't actually a bad person, in fact it's easy to argue she's a pretty good person. She's driven by a desire for revenge but refuses to kill Ellie or Tommy because she's not a blind cold killer - she's just after the one person that killed her father and doomed all of humanity for his own selfish reasons. After the initial chapters as Abbey I soon started to sympathise more with her than Ellie. I felt bad for Ellie, I could understand her anger and frustration with loosing her father figure but I wanted her to stop. But she simply can't. As she describes it herself when she finds out what really happened at the end of the first game, Joel took away her reason to be. She could have saved humanity, meant something. She never got to forgive Joel for what he did. She's basically a traumatised mess full of hate. I'd actually give this game a 9 instead of a 10 but seeing how many people score this a 0 just because they're buying in to the hate-hysteria of the internet I think we can throw in a little extra point just to piss someone off.

The 9 is because no matter how well written and well acted this game is - and how much money is thrown at this production I still feel the ending is a bit messy in the pacing. Not that I dislike the ending but there were too many scenes in a row that felt like it could have been the end and it would still have ended on the same emotional note.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So glad I didnt have anything leaked to me, this game ties in perfectly after the first one and has such a bittersweet ending. Graphics are amazing, you can see little writing on fuel stations, actually read notes on whiteboards or posters. Gameplay wise the game runs fine, no game breaking glitches, afew good scares and panic moments; amazing story where I felt having the game show both sides to the story really helped show why each character did what they did. Honestly dont understand the hate or why people are hating this game, to me this can easily be GoTY. And for those those that have finished the game and didnt like it just think back to Joel's song "if I were to ever lose you I'd surely lose myself" and look at how she lost herself Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. SPOILERS!!

I knew Joel was going to die since the very first trailer came out, it was the only thing that made sense for Ellie’s character arc moving forward. A lot of the people giving the game bad reviews either didn’t play it and are basing it purely on what they read on the leaks, or are mad that the story didn’t go exactly how they wanted it too. But the thing is, if a game’s story was so easy to guess it would be a pretty boring story. The way Naughty Dog handled this story was nearly perfect. It kept surprising me at every turn. I didn’t always like the way the story went, but I’m pretty sure that that’s the point. You can’t control the outcome of everything in life, you can’t control what other people do, especially in a lawless world like this one.

Another thing that deserves praise is the way this game humanizes ‘the bad guys’. Everything from Abby’s story to little dialogue between npc’s makes us sympathize a little more with them. They are just trying to survive, just like the people in Jackson, though I personally think the WLF were still kinda bad.

By making you play as Abby and experiencing her life and her relationships to others, the game makes it clear that not everything in life is black and white. Joel has murdered hundreds of parents, siblings, partners, sons and daughters. He left a trail of blood wherever he went. Everything he’s done was bound to catch up to him sooner or later. And that’s not saying Joel’s actions weren’t justified, in fact I think the Fireflies and Abby’s dad were a bunch of idiots for only running a couple of tests and immediately killing the only hope for a vaccine without properly studying Ellie’s condition and the fungus’ behavior over time. But no one brought that up, instead Joel just massacred them.

Also, some people seem to be angry about Ellie letting Abby go in the end. But her doing that makes sense. She understands that what Joel did was unforgivable, that by killing Abby’s friends she continued the cycle of hatred. Abby tried to break that cycle by letting them go in Seattle, she even refuses to fight Ellie at first in California. I think that while drowning Abby, Ellie understood two things. One: killing Abby won’t bring Joel back or make her nightmares stop, only she can do that by herself. And two: if she kills Abby she would have to kill Lev too, otherwise he would hunt her and the cycle of hatred and revenge would go on and on. It was the same choice that Kratos failed to do at the end of God of War. By letting Abby go Ellie could truly move on to a happier life.

By the way, every single flashback with Joel made extremely emotional, never before has any piece of media made me feel so much loss and sorrow. By the time the end credits rolled I was a sobbing mess. And when I finally managed to calm down they play that cover duet with Joel and Ellie. That was simultaneously a beautiful thing and a dick move. After that I spent around 20 minutes crying like a baby.

All in all, The Last of Us Part 2 is a beautiful game with a brilliant story, magnificent visuals, and amazing gameplay. It is definitely my favorite game ever made. I 120% recommended playing it.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Ich hab The Last of Us geliebt.

    Gameplay, Grafik, Zwischensequenzen, KI, usw.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let me just say my piece and be on my way. A lot of people distaste this game only because they are comfortable with what they are familiar with—Joel and Ellie. Joel had countless sins to pay for, and he never thought to atone for them. What do you think the cost is for killing hundreds of people... for actually nothing? The original goal in TLOU1 was to get Ellie to where she needed to go. period. Yet so many people are upset with Ellie for killing people for “no reason” in TLOU2 without remembering Joel did the exact. Same. Thing. I read. I read a lot of other opinions because not only mine matters and it comes to show that there is always a price to pay when it comes to vengeance. Nothing comes for free, and both experiences that. While playing as Ellie, you see her take on this obsession, and lose herself throughout the gameplay. This is the most crisp version of character development I’ve ever seen. Even when choking people out, go back and listen to how both Ellie and Abby talks to them. ND didn’t put that in coincidently. Character development to some people is like going from bad to good, but it can always be reversed. This game does it’s justice by showing you antiparallel versions of character development. Abby *attempting* to atone for her sins, while Ellie deluges into them. It’s heartbreaking to know what happens to Joel and Ellie, don’t get me wrong. PLEASE don’t get me wrong. Joel had a parental side that I was at times jealous towards. The most loving parental figures in gaming. But it’s clear narrative of what happens when you have bloodlust. I didn’t know why we had to play as Abby until you put yourself in her world. A lot of TLOU fan base lacks empathy. Simple. If you didn’t you’d understand at least to an extent what Abby was feeling and what she did it for. And of course, she paid her price. She lost her friends, a safe place to stay, her status, and even the original love of her life (even though she already kind of lost him). She lost everything finding Joel. And Ellie? Oh man, if she stayed at the farm, karma could’ve had its way... no? By this, I mean, if Ellie would have stayed at the farm with Dina and JJ, Abby for a fact would have been dead. Dried up at the pillars. In a contrasting idea, Ellie got a hell of a short end of the stick. The loss of her ability to efficiently play the guitar?Trauma? PTSD? Of course, I think my own opinion has a flaw because how do you get over PTSD without any actual help? Ellie thought that the only way to get over this was to finish the job. Who am I to say she wouldn’t have been right? Hell, it might or might not’ve fixed her problems — but the fact of the matter still remains. Because of Ellie’s obsession towards Abby, even to the point of saying Abby's name as a mantra, it showed the path of destruction of not trusting the universe. Not believing Abby will get what she’ll get. Ellie ended up saving Abby’s life which is the complete opposite of the original job. By going back for Abby, she lost her family, and her primary comfort for remembering Joel...the guitar (which comes back prominently thru the game as a reminder). As said before, and I’ll say it again; the game shows two different points of vengeance. One of obsession (Ellie), and one of atonement(Abby). We HATE to see a familiar face to be the one of obsession, but not everything is all rainbows. People died because of them. Ellie chose to go after Abby AGAIN after being spared. That’s obsession. Clear as day. Abby chose to not fight Ellie until she had to because it was not. Her. Place. Abby chose to help those kids because she felt like she had to atone for something. Both Ellie and Abby had someone pregnant in their loves which is a sign of a new life. A new beginning. Ellie killed one... while Abby spared the other (but all thanks to Lev. Aka, Abby’s ATONEMENT. If not for Lev, Abby’s story would be much different. Lev is her alibi for change, and a need to right the wrong. Where is Ellie’s?).

And tommy? boy did he also have to pay. Not only did he become disabled, but he lost his whole wife. Who said no one paid? People that didn’t play a direct role (on either Ellie or Abby’s side) ended up dead or hurt/scarred. Those two made it more than about them. And that was their flaw. And this is why ignorance is bliss.

All in all, i like to try to apply these things into everyday life. Any source of literature, or entertainment has its ways to reaching to people. You guys really just think people make stuff for no reason? Without a ‘lesson’ to be learned or anything? Karma will get it’s peace. Vengeance will get you what you want, but it’ll get you as well. And finally,

Forgiveness takes time. And time heals all wounds.
    And what abou

The combat system was really well done, making you feel every hit you take and dish out, melee or otherwise. Definitely would recommend getting this game, just for the sheer whirlwind of emotion it puts you through. Please ignore the bad reviews and give this game a chance. It’ll be one to remember for a long time. I’m currently at a loss for words as to how I feel upon completing it. Truly.

So in that aspect this game, although divisive, is already accomplishing what it sets out to do. Get an emotional response. From the time the game opens to the closing frame, I have to disagree with the others. I loved everything about this game. The combat was tight, tense, and frantic. The pacing of the story, the gorgeous visuals. I think a lot of what sparked the outrage is the very brutal and swift nature of his demise. Everyone is quick to ask how could they do that to Joel!? He did what he did to save Ellie!? Ok, but that doesn't mean he's a good man. All of the characters in our story have grown to do heinous things for the ones they loved after society fell.. Violence begets violence and we know that Joel did **** that we never see that is pretty heinous. I loved seeing the way the paths crossed between Ellie and Abbey and at the end of the day I'm excited to see where the story goes from here. Calm yourselves neckbeards of the world's. Allow yourself to experience a great narrative about the cost of vengeance Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm not sure what everyone is so mad about? The story is emotionally charged. The game itself is beautiful. They make you feel the need for vengeance and then they wear you down so you just don't care about it anymore. The hate doesn't feel deserved.

Do I think the game is a little long and the way they broke up the story right at the climax kind of takes you out of the momentum? For sure. But after finishing the whole thing it makes a lot more sense.

The player and Ellie are both so focused on vengeance against Abby that when we are forced to play as Abby and see her struggles over the same 3 days and the way she gets wrapped up in the lives of Lev (love him) and Yara, you start off being annoyed. Why do I have to play as Abby? She killed Joel. I hate her. But then you're with her for so long and taken away from Ellie's story and her anger that you start to feel like, maybe it's not worth it anymore.

The final fight scene between Ellie and Abby at the boats feels forced and stupid on Ellie's part. Abby doesn't want to fight anymore. Ellie's gotten her ass kicked every time she's tried to fight Abby. Abby has obviously suffered at the hands of Ellie and Tommy for what she's done plus extra from the Rattlers. By this point, it's over. Time to move on.

And in the end, her vengeance has left Ellie dealing with her biggest fear. Being left alone.

Also if you thought Joel was going to be alive through this whole game you're kind of a dummy. The way he went out was brutal and sucked a lot but what exactly would have been the point of this game without his death? Grow up, it's a good game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Took me around 24hrs from start to finish, I completely understand the divide surrounding this title. But let me explain my perspective, yeah the pacing is a bit off but considering what they've tried to accomplish here i don't see any other way of putting this together apart from how ND did it here, there's probably a way but that's for the future discussions I'd say. It's very hard at times to play as Abby after you see what happens to set off Ellie's trip to Seattle, but I believe this was better than having her just looming in notes or radio transmissions just to get to see her at the very end, or popping in and out without much of consequence to the overall story. I believe the whole package is a probably the heaviest to consume in this medium, I was torn apart time and time again, but I believe that's part of the point ND might be trying to show the player. I had to pause and sit back to think about some decisions that were made, but after doing some thinking I saw the point in all of it, maybe not the way it was intended but it worked out for me. It took me roughly 2 hours after finishing the game to digest the whole thing and decide where I was at for the whole thing as an experience. I believe this is a great game, great story with a lot of intricate ideas and as I mentioned pacing is a bit off so it can **** with you a bit at times. But looking back you can see that for some reason nor Abby nor Ellie really can go through with killing one another, they keep letting one another go, if my memory is not playing tricks on me they both let each other live twice thus far in the story. Ellie is haunted by memory of Joel, and it plays the biggest part at the end, I still not quite sure what it meant.. I know it wasn't forgiveness like a lot of people seem to claim shouting of their soap boxes. Another thing I noticed some coverage say that Joel and Ellie or one or the other is a Hero in a first title, to that I must say it seems like you've not finished the game or you're remembering it wrong, first title showed us that there's not a lot of good people in that universe, and sure as hell Joel, Ellie, Bill, Tommy or anyone else that is close to them is a Hero. That is what I loved so much about the first title, and I enjoy the fact that this was pushed even further in this title. This game will make you angry , sad, confused with lights of hope every now and again, it's a dark story, it's not for a faint of heart..
This title in my believe is a stand out, I believe this is the game that people will discuss for many months if not years. I couldn't recommend this enough.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I think The Last Of Us: Part II is even better than the previous one, don't get me wrong, the previous one was a masterpiece, but it doesn't reflect the sincerity of the world, since they give us to know that Joel and Ellie are like others, THEY ARE PEOPLE, they are not heroes. They show us that just like we kill people they also kill, and they also have loved ones. It seems to me that as Ellie develops in this installment it is fantasticshow us an Ellie who falls in love and goes through different situations, either like the death of her peers/relatives until she realizes that the best way to pay homage to shes friend is being better than him. It lets us know that sooner or later things are over, whether it's like our loved ones or as some feeling. Also I don't want people to take it the wrong way, this is my point of view, obviously there's always going to be people who don't like the game or who just don't support it .But it seems to me that The Last Of Us: Part II, is and will be a complete past and jewel of play. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm going to completely ignore the people who review bombed due to LGBT characters because its not even worth getting into that. However, in terms of uncharacteristic acting and the betrayel of a main character, I can tell you right now that these people are feeling anger for two main reasons. 1. A character they have grown to love dies. This isn't a betrayal, this is great writing. If you get angry when someone is killed off in a game, then congrats to the developers. They managed to get you hooked enough to feel something. 2. Gamers these days are far too interested in being able to control decisions and make choices with consequences. But this isn't your character. These aren't your choices. You aren't part of the story, you're just witnessing it. And unfortunately that means you have to sit through the bad times and the good times.

The gameplay is phenomenal and definitely one of the greatest games I've ever played. The beginning is slow burning and really gets you into the story. The loss of a main character early on really pushes the revenge aspect which last the whole game. Now, what Naughty Dog have done that similar games do not manage to achieve with revenge stories is give you the feeling of burden from both trying to get revenge and what you will lose by achieving it. Most games will try to make you see what the character is losing from themselves, or the people around them, or from the antagonists perspective. Naughty Dog achieves all three beautifully. And again, this is done with a slow burn to add to the story in a remarkable way. You start by experiencing a great loss which leads to anger and the need for revenge. Naughty Dog builds your attachment to new characters. They start by showing you how the amount of death and destruction is affecting Ellie mentally and breaking her, but her need for revenge is stronger, and this does not deter the player. You then see how Ellie's need for revenge becomes a burden and threatening to the new characters around her; Tommy, Dina and Jesse who are very quickly easily likable characters. This can deter the player and create a mixed feeling about wanting to continue and whether the revenge is worth it, you then see the damage done from the antagonist, Abby's perspective. How she has lost because of Ellie and Joel. This can almost make the player leave their revenge behind, but no Ellie. She has lost too much. The final nail in the coffin for the players guilt and empathy may be the fact the Abby allows Ellie to walk away, accept her losses and Abby will accept hers. But Ellie, even with a perfect life months later cannot accept this.

Ellie drags the player along with her as the game goes on, and even with revenge weighing down on her and the player both, there is a distance created between them. And at the end of the game, Ellie makes a good decision, but for the player it comes too late, because she has lost everything and herself to achieve it. I think this is where a lot of players anger comes from. Ellie does what the player has wanted for almost the last half of the game, but due to her stubbornness she has lost everything because of it. Regardless, Ellie finished the game a good person, and is happy for that at least.

The music and ambiance are incredible. The creepy and scary area have the perfect tone of music, and the way silence is used the in game is absolutely amazing. There's times when music is lowed and there's constant background noise to promote how fast paced and difficult things are. And silence is used so well to convey sadness, loss and a huge slowdown to the game allowing you to listen to dialogue and reflect on the heartbreak and sadness of what has just happened in the previous missions.

This is not a full review, but just some things I feel needed to be outlined with the game. I genuinely feel the 0/10 reviews are totally unjustified and understand why some people may rate it as low as even 6/10. But for me this is a masterpiece. The sales figures speak for themselves and this is 100% one of the most emotionally effective and well written story driven games I have ever played. For me it is as good as the first, and I genuinely hope Ellies story is not yet over. 10/10. Perfect.

This game is heartbreaking and emotionally taxing on so many levels, and at times is even uncomfortable to play, but every single one of those moments exists to further the narrative, and the story would have suffered if any of those moments had been left on the cutting room floor.

So many of the critiques of the game that dwell on “plot holes” and decisions that are “inconsistent with X's character” ignore the fact that, y'know, people change, and years have passed since the end of the first game. These are not the same characters we knew.

The acting in this game is second to none, the music and sound design are great, the visuals are stunning, and, OMG, the rope physics. The amount of care and passion that went into this game is incredibly obvious, and really inspiring.

Don't pay attention to the vitriol—play the game and form your own opinions.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Watch out for heavy spoilers! I'll talk about the story in this review!

Normally, I'm a silent player that plays the game and don't talk that much about it only, BUT after seeing all the hate this game gets, I have to talk about games openly for once..

Before I go into details let me give you my ratings:
    GRAPHICS: 10/10
    SOUND: 10/10
    STORY: 9/10
    GAMEPLAY: 9.5/10
    _______________
    OVERALL: 9.6/10

This game is quite near to being a masterpiece and I will tell you why:

The prologue is simply one of the best I've seen in a very long while. It was a good decision to remind the player of what happened in the first game and to give the player some insight in the relationship of Ellie and Joel right after the end of the first game.

The beginning relatively peaceful, which brings you into the game softly and not too harsh.

Then stuff is about to go down (also, the point of the game, that pisses off the majority of people, not me though): Joel gets killed by Abby. The majority says that Joel wouldn't tell his name to strangers and would not even think about going into the room with Abby and their companions. But for me, Joel looks like he softened in Jackson in the past 4 years. He was about to bring new people into Jackson and didn't think about his past at the moment (also, they were in a really spicy situation, which made things hectic).

So all in all Joel's dead was not only justified, but also good executed. Of course some people say, that Abby is a nobody to Joel, which is true, but only hating her for killing Joel and being an unknown character is quite simplistic. If you hate Abby for killing Joel, then you would also need to hate Joel for killing her father in the first game. Also you should hate Ellie for doing the same stuff Abby did then.

The story gets told in a really, like seriously REALLY, unconventional way, which might have turned off the one or other.
What I mean with this is that there is a bigger storyline and flows within the game (so shall I say?). And in this bigger storyline there are flashbacks, that underline the current situation in the game perfectly. And when you're on a specific spot in the game, the game "starts again" the same time, the revenge path of Ellie started. The twist: You play as Abby and life in her life for a third in the game. Personally, in the beginning I had real trouble to feel bad for Abby but while playing her part of the story, I realized that she's just as human as every other person in this game.

This underlines one of the game's theme: "There are no heroes, only survivors.", which is perfectly executed.
Another theme of the game is: "The cycle of hate and revenge.", which is also extremely well executed in the game, because as you can see, Joel did some gruesome things in the first game, that led Abby to seek revenge to his actions and then to his death, which sparks hate in Ellie towards Abby, so she starts a literal RAMPAGE to find Abby, resulting killing her friends, which then let Abby want to kill Ellie. And so on.

Nearly in the end (which is really the best outcome they would get out of this situation) Ellie lives peacefully in a farm few miles from Jackson with Dina. Tommy shows up to tell Ellie, that they found Abby and he still wants to get revenge.

Ellie wants that too, so she starts seeking her revenge again and is nearly there to kill Abby while drowning her. But then she realizes, that this cycle will never end if nobody lets go. So she let's her live. She learned to forgive, which is the last theme of the game: Learning to forgive.
There is even a flashback scene, in that Ellie tells Joel that she tries to forgive him for taking away her meaning in her immunity.

In the end you see Ellie walking home to her farm near Jackson and Dina is left. Everything is taken away from her. Only the guitar is still there, which she tries to play, but she can't, because Abby bit 2 of her fingers off in the last fight. So she lays the guitar down and walks away. Symbolizing her letting go of her past.

    Now to the gameplay.
The gameplay improved in many ways:
    - more traversal
    - the dodge button feels nice (but I'll come to it in a minute)
    - stealth feels more realistic (you're never fully hidden)

A BIG PLUS is the graphics. The game looks like straight out of a camera lens. It's disgustingly beautiful. There are insane details in every corner or brush, water looks fantastic an the characters are almost like real life.

Also, Gustavo Santaolalla's music in the background immerses you into this brutal and raw world, but also calms you down in certain moments. Simply majestic.

Just don't listen to the negative reviews (atleast don't trust the bad reviews with no real reason why they hate it).

It's a game. You gotta play it. Believe me.

The weakest point comes in the story, when the main relationship of the franchise is ruined. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let's not overly stretch this review. The last of us part II is a MASTERPIECE. Not a rare but a UNIQUE gem in the gaming industry.
    VISUALS/GRAPHICS: 9.8/10
The visuals, and the overall technical realisation of the game is nearly perfect, except for the fire visuals and effects that are clearly limited by this console's generation's problems. There are some little glitches all over the game but they are almost meaningless.
    GAMEPLAY/ANIMATIONS: 9.8/10
The gameplay is renewed and restyled but clearly inspired by the first chapter's fundamentals. It betters every single aspect of it and adds new mechanics that keep the game's overall style. The playable maps are enormous and almost completely explorable, filled with curiosities, touching and heartbreaking side stories and collectibles so detailed only Naughty Dog could bless us with. The combat sequences are extremely satisfying, flexible and realistic, as you can reestablish a stealthy profile by running into the grass and keeping a prone position. The A.I., especially the humans enemies' sets new standards for the whole industry, enemies can flank you, easily overwhelm you and engage a hard melee fight with you. They all have names and they can get angrier if you kill their friends or their dogs, the new type of enemy, extremely sensible to every noise and smell. Killing enemies in The last of us part II is not an easy decision. Enemies will scream painfully or angrily, dogs will mourn their owners and whimper if hit. The infected enemies are of course less intelligent than humans but overall more dangerous and renewed. Runners are now more aggressive and overwhelming, stalkers are terrifying and extremely deadly when it comes to a close combat with them. Clickers can easily spot any noise you produce and quickly kill your character. The new shamblers are extremely dangerous as they are die hard, violent monsters that are able to eject burning spores that can sometimes trap you in a corner, hopeless. The bloaters are way more difficult and violent in this game and will cause you a lot of problems. The new Rat King is surely the most challenging boss fight of the whole series THEIR huge bloater body eject some sort of stalkers also stronger and more dangerous. Furthermore the two characters have different weapons and abilities that can be used and improved. I noticed the falling animation was a little less taken care of, almost unsatisfying.
    STORY MODE AND PLOT: 9.5/10
The story mode is devastating, moving and grounded. The plot twists are incredibly well played and empowered by the incredible acting of the characters' mo-cap actors. Joel's death is the consequence of his actions. Because nobody is a 'good guy' in the universe of The last of us, as Tess reminded Joel in the first game before her death,-We're sh*tty people Joel-. Abby had the complicated burden of justifying her terrible actions throughout the game and she partially did. Naughty Dog make us live her human relationship with the characters we previously saw involved in a terrible action of revenge. And more, not only is Abby Joel's killer, but we find out she is way more similar to him than she and we know. She is more brutal than Ellie, like Joel, and with her action she provoked an unstoppable intercourse of events that brought her down, just like Joel. Just like Joel she finds herself with a human relationship with the boy Lev. But we never forget our true reasons and Ellie, the actual protagonist of the game is focused on her goal. She eventually understands that killing Abby won't bring back Joel and in a touching final scene she lets her enemy go, with the boy she previously saved. Abby lost everything she loved because of her lust for revenge and Ellie proves to be a better human being than her. She then realizes how her revenge obsession brought away the good things she had left. Dina and her son, her mother's knife, the guitar fingers.
    SOUNDTRACK: 9.5/10
The soundtrack is easily on an upper level and Gustavo Santaolalla demonstrates his talent with tracks that can make your emotions already simulated by the cutscenes even more intense, even though I feel like the first game's songs are slightly more inspired.
    IMPERFECTIONS SUMMARIZED:
Nothing is perfect, and The last of us makes no exception. Some parts of the plot seem to be stretching the game a little bit, for example the still beautiful but slightly unnecessary gameplay sequence during the war between the WLF militia and the Seraphites cult. Some animations are still a bit rough, like the falling animation that can be revisited and there are some little graphic glitches, some textures disappearing when you're looking at them in certain spots, the fire effects and visuals seem a bit 'old', though these little problems don't ruin the experience.
As I said, nothing is perfect, neither is The last of us part II, but let me state it goes pretty damn close to perfection.
A must have, generation defining game. Incredible. 10/10

Incredible intertwining story with a revenge story from two characters, not fully understanding each other’s motives, abbys father being killed by Joel and preventing a cure, and Ellie’s ‘parent’ being murdered with her knowing why only until the end she realises and resulting in her letting Abby go, had me questioning which one I’m supposed to care about which was difficult as they each had the moral driven reasons. was not disappointed with not one bit of the game, each gun fight, encounter cutscene had me catching my breath at the end of it. A masterpiece but not on par with part 1(maybe because it's too depressing). A bold storytelling unlike any story game I've ever played. Minus the execution of some stuff that kinda don't make sense in the world of the last of us, everything else is pure perfection. Definitely a groundbreaking game.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
