For those who say that this is garbage and full of plot holes, i'm sorry you’re just not mature enough to play this game. It pictures realism, and how almost nothing goes according to planned as we see in the majority of movies. The game leaves you with a bitter taste in your mouth and at the same time a glimpse of hope, as Ellie walks away without two fingers in a road to try and redeem herself. I really hope other game companies inspire themselves and look forward to creating more games such as this, it’s not every game that leaves you thinking for days after you’ve finished it. 10/10… Expand

    The best game of this year period. Graphics wise is a master piece, the gameplay is better than the fist one, and history wise maybe some people won't like it but it's great.

    Great game, but not inovated in his dinamic. The playability is repetitive, like the first game.
    And the history, was not expected, but notthing to complain about that. The grafics ia very good, but the same of uncharted 4 but qith another mood.

    There is nothing "poor" about the story in this game. The story is harsh and brutal in every sense. At times it's very uncomfortable to watch but that doesn't make it "bad" or "poor". Quite the contrary. This game manages to evoke very strong emotions in the player. Some of them are negative and/or confusing but that's exactly the point. For those who are attached to the favorite characters, you're obviously not thinking this world is in a post apocalyptic era and every choice you make has consequences.     This game excels in every area.
    The gameplay, the score, the environment, the depth, all are fantastic. I think the story is what the game will be remembered for and with this the Last of Us 2 sets a new standard for stories in gaming.
    Everyone at Naughty Dog can be proud of this achievement, a true demonstration of a team who are at the pinnacle of their craft.

    10/10 A masterpiece.

    Everything you want from the modern game. Amazing visuals, amazing story telling, gameplay that is unrivalled in intensity and fluidity, a plot line that has you guessing and gripped until the very end. I’ve been waiting 7 years for this and it has been worth the wait. Avoid spoilers if you can and play this game through with a fresh untainted outlook.

Some people have had issues with the story direction, but I think the story was ambitious and well done. The game was very effective in that it elicited sadness, anger, fear, and joy.     Wow. It is a gut punch emotionally. I would describe in a way of a story as you would the Walking Dead when they started to kill beloved characters. Great episodes. This is kinda like that. It's a horror game. What do you expect? The gameplay is very strong. The graphics are some of the best. The story might not be for everyone. It's more shocker and gore like a horror movie. I'm anWow.     Since its release in 2013, The Last of Us has firmly held a place on my podium as one of the best games of all time. Having played through the first instalment 7 or 8 times over the years whilst I patiently waited for the Part II, its fairly safe to say that my expectations for The Last of Us: Part II were extremely high and I was NOT disappointed… What a masterpiece! Harrowingly beautifulSince its release in 2013, The Last of Us has firmly held a place on my podium as one of the best games of all time. Having played through the first instalment 7 or 8 times over the years whilst I patiently waited for the Part II, its fairly safe to say that my expectations for The Last of Us: Part II were extremely high and I was NOT disappointed… What a masterpiece! Harrowingly beautiful and shockingly captivating to the end. I never read reviews on a game until I have completed it, so when I learnt from a follower whilst streaming the end to our macabre journey last night, that the game had been completely bombed by reviews, I was stunned. Having now read a heap of reviews, a number of which came in just a hours after the games release, despite the game requiring 20-30 hours of gameplay; I feel it is imperative that the game receives the ratings it deserves. So here we go… (N.B. - Completed on Survivor Mode).

    The gameplay is excellent. A solid 3rd person view that sits in sweet spot to behind the character, not being to close to obstruct and not so far as to make distant targets hard to see and camera angles are reasonably flexible. Aiming and shooting were pretty standard for a modern 3rd person shooter. The enemies AI was outstanding, just when you thought you had their pathing worked, they would change it up on you as you got closer or moved to get a better angle. Enemy ‘tells’ were subtle and sometimes hard to gauge, making melee combat that bit more difficult (which is good). This leads me to probably my biggest pain point for the game… I expected it to be harder, particularly given that when selecting ‘Survivor’ you are prompted with a warning advising against selecting this difficulty on your first playthrough. In terms of music, the scoring for this game is in my opinion without rival from any game to-date (think this comment speaks for itself).
    The graphics are stunning, despite the developer’s limitations on the PS4’s out-of-date hardware. It would have been amazing to see the potential with say, NVIDIA’s Ray Tracing. The environment is beautiful, amazing land and cityscapes that were well bordered so that you weren’t frustrated by the fact that the character was stopped by a brick on the ground that they could easily step over to move past into the area that lay beyond. Character design was excellent, even though it was obvious from the outset that developers had revisited Ellie’s appearance to remove further confusion between our protagonist and the actress, Ellen Page. Also, the design of Abby’s military muscle build was an admirable shift from the typical sexy/beautiful female characters, that screams “this game was designed by men”. That of course leads me to the final and most controversial point of the game, the story. (Warning: Spoilers ahead) As a true fan of the original instalment, I cannot fathom how people are attacking the story. Given that a large number of the negative reviews came hours after the games release, perhaps people were annoyed by an intro that was not huge on information, but what good thriller ever divulges the plot upfront. Jovial Ellie is now an emotional teenager with ‘daddy’ issues and as we learn, rightfully so. We are also confronted right at the start with a scene similar to the ‘Glen & Negan’ moment from TWD, were we come to terms that our hero from the last story will not play a significant part going forward; just as the ‘Glen & Negan’ scene did, this likely lost peoples interest going forward, but hey.. death is a part of life. As the story progresses flashbacks help stitch together the events of the past 4 years for Ellie and we are forced to understand that there are different sides to every story, as we play through the eyes of our new anti-hero, Abby. Was it the story I expected? No… but it was a story of loss, heartache and revenge (with a serving of PTSD), which quite frankly makes sense for kids raised in a brutal post-apocalyptic world. Did the developers make our little Ellie a lesbian? Yes… But seriously, it is 2020 people, it is time to move on. There were of course bits that frustrated me with the way the story went, but that’s to be expected given that the story didn’t go the way I expected. Being forced to play as Abby in the theatre annoyed me, as I wasn't sold on her redemption yet, and found myself occasionally run at Ellie just to see her blow a hole in Abby’s face. The end also left me wanting, But expect this was purposeful to set up a potential Part III (i.e. Fireflies and Ellie's wish to save humanity).

    If you have not yet played the game or finished it; I implore you to STOP, get off this site, go to your local store, buy the game and complete it with an open-mind. Decide for yourself. At the end of the day, whilst this is a darker story, it now easily sits side by side with the first instalment on my podium as one of the top games of all-time.    … Expand

This game doesn't deserve the hate that is getting, I'm sure most of this people giving to it 0 an 1 didn't even play it. This results are simply unreliable and clearly irrational, you may not like the plot but giving it less than a 7 or at least a 6 out of 10 its simply unfair. Graphics are astonishing, same goes for animations and facial expressions, acting its really really good. Sounds effects and music are great.The gameplay made a big step forward compared to the first game, is fluid, very realistic and enjoyable. All this elements mixed together create a full immersion in a virtual world built with high mastery.The level of detail that they've put inside the multiple buildings that you can explore, in the nature that has literally eaten our artificial world, is unbelievable. There are lots of smaller details all around this world, notes, drawings, graffiti and more.This little things make the immersion even deeper and realistic towards the context, a post apocalyptic world which feels real, more real than what we got from most movies or TV shows. Sometimes during the exploration you will find something which will arouse Ellie's attention, she takes out her journal and makes a scatch, takes notes. You can read this journal and feel her, empathise with her, she is broken and you will be broken with her. Sometimes she will find a guitar and start playing (and you can actually play whatever you want, if you can of course).

    SPOILERS AHEAD Probably the most controversial part is when you start playing as the " villain". Honestly it caught me off guard and I got **** angry, I didn't want to play as her but at the same time I couldn't stop, I needed to see it through. A lot of people is accusing the writers that they wanted to force us to empathise with this character and somehow they felt offended, almost violated. I can get their point but this is a story driven, interactive movie like game, you don't get to chose, you just experience it. From my perspective the director just wanted to emphasise that everyone in this devastated world is in the same **** Even her, who killed one of the most beloved characters in the videogame history, is a person, and from a neutral point of view she deserved to get her revenge. After all that man killed her father, and as a consequence millions of other people kept dying. Having said that, I've never empathised with her, actually I kept hating her till the very end but this doesn't mean that I ended up hating the game, it means that I got really invested on it, like never before. Thus, this risky and controversial approach worked very well on me. If you loved the first game like me you will suffer while playing this one, you will mourn, you will feel rage and hate. But you will also experience moments of joy while remembering the past through very powerful flashbacks.This story works, it's very well written and it makes perfect sense. To me this is the best story driven game I've ever played, it's simply on another level.    … Expand

    A masterpiece, both in gameplay and narrative. My favorite point is in the construction of the scenarios and search for resources, generating even more immersion in the world when compared to the first game. Don't mind the bomb reviews, mostly of them is from people who hasn't play the game, play and draw your conclusions, certainly among the best games of the generation!

The combat is obviously similar to the first, but they expanded by making more obstacles to jump through, crawl under and it feels like the AI has been beefed up to patrol much smarter and react to things better. It's a shame that the game has been review bombed (Largely by people that haven't played it) This is a phenomenal game, it truly feels like a next gen game before the new consoles are even out. The story, whilst divisive, painful and agonising, is incredible. Sure, some of us might have done some things differently, but on the whole it is excellent. If you are a fan of the first game you really need to play this, its a masterpiece.

Many people will likely dislike this game, but I personally can’t help but commend it for its ability to truly do something risky and succeed with it! The gameplay is some of the best stealth combat I have ever played and the story kicks you in the gut constantly! Switching from one protagonist to the antagonist at first made me feel unsure and worried but as the story continued on it truly turned into a remarkable experience with Both of our playable characters dealing with their choices! Getting revenge is truly a satisfying and dark experience until the game takes you to a place where it isn’t and watching Ellie come to terms with overcoming her anger and hate!     I just played through the game and can say that it is a masterpiece. The plot is really unexpected with a lot of twists and fantastic directing. The ending is not as happy as a lot of people might want it, but it makes sense, cause Ellie gets what she deserves for throwing away her family and the life she had to hunt Abbey down. It feels a bit out of control, cause you can't really make a decision yourself, but that is also a good thing, cause it shows, how the death of a close character can change you for worse. If you don't like a game, that doesn't let you make most decisions yourself, don't play it. If you like an amazing and overarching story and also good story telling, feel free to try this game. It really reflects what loss causes for a lot of people and how it leads you to make decisions that are driven by anger and grief. And that is what this game teaches you. And for anyone hating the ending: a game doesn't have to have a 100% happy ending. Ellie gets what she deserves for leaving Dina and JJ to hunt down Abbey. And I think a lot of people are way too fastidious when it comes to happy endings and how they demand at least 50% happiness for a character. The game shows a sad truth about life: You don't allways get what you want, and not everything ends happy. Cause fu*king up and the cause of that happens in real life. And this is what naughty dog did so good in this game. Tell a realistic character development and a reasonable story.… Expand

    На таком запоре, завести такой графоний и скорей всего отлично оптимизирован код. Они походу жили в студии чтоб сделать такое.
    Я не могу понять нытиков, которые говорят что сюжет длинный?! Когда сюжет короткий ноете,когда длинный тоже ноете. Вы купили игру за 60$ или 4300 рубасов и ноете что сюжет длинный? Да она окупается за эти деньги что хочу вам сказать.
    По поводу сюжета я доволен. НО.. Я бы согласился посмотреть на 1 версию сюжета или сделать сюжет Эбби как DCL. С отдельной веткой. Чтоб избежать нытья о том "зачем мы играем за стероиды"

The game itself is perfect gameplay wise and graphics but It's clear it's the story that's on everyone's mind. *SPOILERS AHEAD* - I loved the story. Again 10/10 personally. I'm glad ND didn't give away the plot point at the beginning at it made me feel something. Anger. I wanted vengeance. Only to get through the game and for ND to masterfully display that other characters in the game had real and truly captivating and justifiable motives. Vengeance goes around back and forth between these two groups. By the end, I wanted Ellie to let it go as only someone (maybe Lev) would come back for more vengeance... Right when Ellie finally has that upper hand and Abby's life in her hands... She lets go. Perfect. That's story done right. Just because people hate the painful world TLoU2 creates, just even more emphasises how good this game world was created. People confuse the two with the game itself.     And lastly the story... As we all know there is some big controversy around it. I really enjoyed the story. Of course, there are a few things I would change. For example, it should be more chronological so that you play with both characters on the same day. But regardless of this story is really cool and surprise you every time. I think that everything that characters did is realistic and true to their characters. 2 hours from the end I was already thinking that it is over but then another part of the story kicked in and I was happily surprised.
    Overall I can only recommend this game. It was a blast playing it and I think it changed my mindset how I am looking at the world. Thanks, Naughty Dogs.    … Expand

    The first part left us with a desire to know what could follow for this duo, now we are presented with the harshness of this post-apocalyptic world, this part played with my feelings, but showed how far we can go for revenge, no other game has made you hate and love a game so much.

Mais je pense que peu importe leur choix, certains ont détesté le jeu dès son annonce. Une suite n'était pas nécessaire, mais elle est la, et vivement la suite (si il y en a une)
