    To hell with negative reviews! Everyone scolds the plot, but it's not that bad. Go through the game several times and maybe then you will feel what you could not feel during the first pass. I'm referring here to the relationship between Ellie and Joel, because that's what the first part was all about, right?     amazing graphics, gameplay, music and story build. even though I understand where all the user critics are coming from, a game or a story certainly isn't bad because it didn't play out the way you like it to. that aside, I absolutely enjoyed every bit of this experience. my only complaint is, that it offers no multiplayer, apart from that it's a masterpiece

    One of the best games i've played. Graphics are amazing, the gameplay feels so much better and smoother than in the first game. The story is interesting in its own way. It is something different than we expected but it puts another perspective on the story of Joel and Ellie. Firstly, I would like to say I don’t think the narrative of the story is the best and it could be improved however I don’t think the current narrative is easy to diners or understand. I know I’m going to get called an ND fanboy for this but I just want to leave my thoughts about the game.(sorry for bad English in advance)

    After reading dozens of reviews, I have realised a vast majority of the users that rated down the game did not have a valid explanation as in why the game wasn’t good. from hating on ND Because they included characters from LGBT community(you should not play ND games if you are one of these) to being upset because Joel died. Or some upset because this wasn’t a story of hope and ‘light at the end of the Tunnel’ like the first game. People need to realise this is a different game with a completely different story.

    I have seen genuine criticism and I think some of them are good I personally did not like having to play through the character that killed one of the most beloved characters from the first game however I understand Naughty dogs decision to do this as this will further justify the story and the theme they are trying explore. The story spends a long time trying to make you empathise with Abby which just didn’t do it for me personally.

    However I do not believe the game needs to receive this much hate only because majority of the players did not really understand the message naughty dog was trying to convey which is that: revenge hurts you and everyone around you and there will be blood and consequences and there isn’t really winner. I did not exactly see Abby as winner in this. She lost everyone she care about and all of her plans ruined. Neither did Ellie. Her love left her and she did not get what she wanted. She just needed to accept that the burden of Joel’s death will be with her for the rest of her life. The point is that there was no winner in this bloody revenge story.

    In terms of the gameplay, sound design and the environment, naughty dog has set the bar very high. The graphics are incredible and the movements and gameplay are amongst the best I have seen.
    I decided to rate this game 10 out of 10 simply because I thought every other aspect of the scheme was perfect and beautifully crafted and I have much appreciation for naughty dog as a game company. I just don’t Believe the game needs to get this much backlash and hate simply because of its controversial and rather complex narrative.    … Expand

    IF you play this game you will find a better storyline than many beautiful holliwood films, A storytelling from oscar, whether you like it or not the ending is a TRUE story accompanied by Awesome graphics.

    One of the best games I've ever played. It has amazing graphics, great soundtrack and breathtaking environments, this games just feels so immersive that I can't even explain. Naughty Dog dealt everything that they promissed. Even if the history might not be what everyone expected, I wouldn't say that the writting deserves a zero. It does has it's problems, but It's at least enjoyable

There are several moments of actual terror and good jump scares. The story makes you think of the consequences of your actions especially when it comes to revenge. How many times have we murdered without thinking about it. In this game we see both sides and end up feeling empathy for both sides. I loved it from start to finish i really did.… Expand

    Great game. Never think Neil Druckmann will be able to repeat high level of Last of us One. But he did it. Sadly, it lacks of well-developed characters from Last of us 1, but it is compensated by much much more deep story. 10/10.

    I will gladly say this..this game isn't what we wanted, but it's what we needed. Naughty Dog deserves immense about of respect and commemoration for this title as they bravely shift the theme entirely from the first game to deliver a dark deep piece of storytelling that will no doubt be highly polarizing to several archaic recipients.

    So... Where do I start? I just can't believe that Part II is finally here and that I already played it. I only waited for around 8 months because I played Part I when it was for free on PS Plus. Since then I waited for this game. I know... It's not a long time, but it felt like years, because I knew, that    A masterpiece like no other!
    Don't be afraid. This won't include any spoilers.
    So... Where do I start? I just can't believe that Part II is finally here and that I already played it. I only waited for around 8 months because I played Part I when it was for free on PS Plus. Since then I waited for this game. I know... It's not a long time, but it felt like years, because I knew, that Part II would be damn good! And all the time, I was right. I played a lot of games but this one is special. I never had feelings like that before.
    It took me 4 days and around 20 - 21 hours to finish the game. Overall I was always excited when I played The Last of Us Part II. At some times I got bored, because I didn't want to wait for what happens next. I think this won't be a problem at the second playthrogh. At some points it was just scary and I was happy, when I was able to leave a gruesome place.
    I don't want to scratch the surface. I want to go deeper into the game.

    The gameplay:
    The gameplay was great! When you liked TLOUs Gameplay, you'll definitely love the gameplay of Part II. You're able to move faster and Ellie is a good playable character. Using stealth was always fun. But it's also great to have a big gunfight with other enemies. What you do is up to you. At some points you're maybe able to sneak around enemies. But I always killed them because it's important to get supplies and ammunition.
    With the new gameplay mechanics every fight is different. I really like the new dodge feature. You don't feel like a fool anymore, when you get killed. But in my opinion Part II is easier than the prequel. There was only one sequence in the game where I died oftenly. I played it on normal and I think that the normal difficulty is harder than in the first game. A friend of me has a complete other opinion, She thinks that Part II is harder.

    Leveldesign:
    There is not much to say about this. It's just Naughty Dog Quality. The game looks great and authentic. I really liked the little details, One of my favourite new features is the safes. You can find safes with passcodes all around the world. They include supplies and other stuff. It's always connected to a little mystery. Sometimes you only have to find a little note which includes the passcode.
    Part II really scared me sometimes. Sometimes it was only the level design or the infected. But there were also some jumpscared and they really scared the hell out of me.
    The levels and the atmosphere are overall great!

    Soundtrack:
    The soundtrack is like in Part I amazing. Gustavo Santaolalla did his best work again. But not only that: The songs that were sung by Troy Baker or Ashley Johnson really gave me goosebumps.
    The soundtrack is simpley great.

    Characters:
    The characters are good. I loved it how you found out about the background of some characters over the story. It all just came together. The characters are authentic and good made. It's nothing revolutinary but they are good. But I have to say: The acting is great. All the actors did their job fantastically! Ashley Johnson is truly the perfect Ellie!

    Story:
    Oh sh*t. Where do I start? For me it was the best and most emotional story ever made. It's really an emotional journey. There are parts, where you are sad, sometimes you're happy, angry, scared and much more. You feel the pain of the characters. I never felt anything like this before, especially in a videogame. You have to play it for yourself! It's definitely worth it! If you only saw the trailers, you don't know what awaits you. You still don't know what awaits you, if you read or saw spoilers. The game goes into a completely other direction. It's amazing. I don't want to tell more for the people who haven't played it yet. You have to play it from the beginning to the end.
    I cried a lot throughout the entire game. It touched me emotionally more than any other game including TLOU 1.
    The story goes very deep so you have to think a lot about it to understand it correctly. If you only view it from above you won't understand it. Go deep inside the story and think about every word. It's definitely worth it. I guess a lot of the haters don't know what this means (No offend).
    In my opinion it's the best storyline ever written. Neil Druckman is a genius. The more I think about it, the more I love it.

    What do I think?
    In my opinion The Last of Us Part II is Naughty Dogs best game ever made. You can really feel the efforts they put into this, when you play it. I can recommend it to everyone who loves story-driven singleplayer games.
    It's a truly masterpiece. In my opinion it's as good as the first game. But it's completely different. You can't compare Part I and the sequel. Just think about what all the brutality and all the emotions in this game really mean. You can't describe it in words!
    You have to play it for yourself.

I agree that some early story elements where disappointing and the fact that we just didn’t see it coming does not make it good writing. Still, it is not a bad game, it has character development, gameplay mechanics and graphics are much better than the previous game (this for some reason I’ve heard many people disagree with, I don’t understand why, like really? The graphics from part 1 which a 7 year old game is much better than this one, now you’re just making up excuses), it has a some horror sections that I believe even surpass similar sections from part 1. I played Last of us part 1, I love the game. I even got the platinum trophy, which is not something you get in just one or two playthroughs. I don’t believe that we should kill this game simply because of the death of our favorite character, Joel (Which we knew was going to happen, it just happened way before we expected). If you wanted more Ellie and Joel time then please continue playing the game and you’ll get some heart worming, action packed and revealing section with those like you wanted.… Expand

    JUEGAZO: personajes, historia, gráficos, todo al máximo nivel, el único pero que le veo es que es muy cruel y al ser tan realista a veces no sabes si estas viendo una pelicula o una historia real. Por lo demás juegazo. Ojala la gente valorase los juegos por su contenido y no por factores externos.

    Simply the best game I have ever played. It's an incredible sequel to part 1. The story is as wonderful and engaging as the first game, but with more memorable characters. Gameplay, graphics, soundtrack, sound effects, everything is great. Surely TLOU2 wins this year's GOTY.

    I'm gonna say it. The Last of Us Part II is the best game I have ever played.     The attention to detail is astounding, the characters look amazing and the world is one of the most graphically impressive I have ever seen.

    I looked up the spoilers after I finished, and wow. I totally understand the reaction now. Without context, those spoilers are absolutely killer, and I feel bad for anybody who came across them. To those, I will say go in with an open mind. I know some may not be able to get past them, but really do try. There are also a lot of rumours that are quite simply untrue.     Juego maravilloso, es realmente un experiencia única, jamás un juego me había hecho cuestionarme tanto, pasar tantas emociones en jn viaje, definitivamente Naughty Dog sabía lo que hacía, tomaron desiciones muy arriesgadas pero entendiendo el universo que crearon son muy coherentes, el juego no es ninguna agenda política, es una hostoria verosimil en su mundo.

    Obviously the game is not for everyone. I’ve enjoyed it so far. Although it doesn’t answer the questions I was expecting I still considered it a good game.

    Honestly this game for me is a 9. The only reason I take a point off is because of the story to which I won't spoil. The only reason I gave it a 10 was because of all the day 1 trolling of 0's and 1's from people who've never played the game.

    I love map design, all locations and how it's pace changing. The gameplay and feel of the game is much improved and it's absolutely top level. Now this game is heavily driven by the story, which I personally loved but it wasn't easy at the beginning.

    I understand the hate people have and half way through I was sceptical about what's happening as well... But I reminded myself that    I love map design, all locations and how it's pace changing.     Loved it, played por hours straight and just realized it 15 hours after starting it, kept playing. I never was a huge fan of these games but holy **** this one is good. Awesome art, awesome story, awesome characters and character development, great sound effects and soundtrack.
    The only thing that made me uncomfortable was the sky, but that's just a small detail on a huge game.     História densa que mostra várias perspectivas do ser humano. Tecnicamente o jogo é um absurdo com gráficos incríveis com fotograma solido. Um jogo que te faz ficar tenso, triste com raiva com dúvida e feliz por gestos singelos de carinho.

    Ignore the obvious review-bombing by unhappy fans that were pissed about Joel getting a golf club taken to his head. If you're mad that a fan favorite character was killed, and you expected him to be a hero, you completely missed the point of the first game, and this one as well. Joel was a **** monster. He massacred an entire hospital worth of people who could have cured the virus, just because he couldn't bear losing Ellie. That's disgustingly selfish. With this game, while I do understand that playing as the character who killed Joel could piss off a lot of people, the writers intended for us to see both sides of the story. In Abby's world, Ellie and Joel are the villains. Joel murdered her father, and she wanted revenge. The events of the first game set up this cycle. There is a proverb that states "When you embark on a journey of revenge, be sure to dig two graves."

    I also can't praise the environments, the lighting, animations, and design of this game. It is an absolute visual masterpiece.

    My final thoughts on this game are: It was dark, like Requiem for a Dream dark. It is not meant to be a feel good story. At times it can be downright disturbing. But at the end of it, I was left with a feeling of satisfaction. Do I think the ending made sense the way it happened? In my view, unless Abby and Ellie killed each other at the end, the way it actually ended was the only way it could have ended. I don't know what's in store for LoU3, but I'll damn sure be waiting with baited breath for what will hopefully be a fantastic conclusion to an amazing story.    … Expand

    Ich bin gamer seit 1998 und habe schon alles gespielt, Last of us part 2 ist das beste Singleplayer game dass ich bis jetzt gespielt habe!!! Ein grandioser Nachfolger des 1sten Teils!! Ein wahres Meisterwerk!!! Achterbahn fahrt der Gefühle.

    People complaining about Naughty Dog making us play with a hated character, I get that, I wanted to end that part as soon as possible, but they wanted to show the 2 sides of the story.
    Ok her part was a little too long, but I enjoyed the game as much as I enjoyed the first one.
