Game is freaking awesome, just finished it and I had to hold my tears, it starts as a revenge story and then becomes a redemption story a forgiveness story and how hard it is for the characters to let go, Joel’s death is pivotal in how the game develops, creates questions, who is Abby why did she killed him, how is Ellie gonna react why did Ellie and Joel not getting along now, does Ellie knows all the truth? And after the setup is complete and you are in a rampage killing scars and Wolfs you are presented with Abby story, which I compare with Raiden in MGS2 it forces you to look on the other side of the mirror, to get control of a character you hate and understand her motivations motivations is a great way to put yourself in someone else’s shoes, may say that her story is plain, I disagree, her story is an evolution of dogma and doctrine to free think and been able to make her own decisions and acceptance of someone who things oposite to you. Overall is a great experience and I believe that anyone without prejudices will enjoy this game… Expand

TLOU2 challenges traditional experience of gaming: The player is no longer the savior of the (virtual) world, in contrary, the main character eventually gave up the task they determined to accomplish at the beginning (It sounds also a bit like TLOU) — it seems depressing, but we know “it cannot be for nothing”. I love TLOU2 for it’s an excellently-written story for mature adults, about loss, imperfection, and regrets in life. Those game players, who hate the game just because things did not go as they wish, should grow up. Keep up the good work Naughty Dog, and time will prove it’s a masterpiece. A fan from China.… Expand

    Masterpiece ! I didnt think Naughty Dog could do it again but this was just a Mindblowing experience ! Gameplay is Top , and the Story is even better. A very emotional game that has you think about life and actions with consequences . The Coin has always two sides to it.

    An absolute masterpiece. Whether you agree with the direction naughty dog decided to take with the story or not I believe it’s fair to say this game still deserves praise for the outstanding graphics and gameplay. I highly recommend giving this game a play!

    A beautiful look at how actions cause consequences. Ok I have heard all the hate and concerns. Truth is they seem to be more hate on the game and characters that consumers were not ready to deal with. The game itself is crazy social experiment taking beloved characters and putting the actions of the last game front and center. I grew to love abby and enjoyed playing with her more. It's a brilliant game which really portraits humanity at its worst when **** has hit the fan. It left me sad, somewhat depressed and thoroughly engrossed in the story. I felt it was extremely smart to give us the point of view of opposed characters. To all the people moaning about Joels death by the hands of Abby, please re-play both games and consider who the bigger monster of those two are/were... My only real gripe with the story is the apparent foregone conclusion thst the vaccine is dead. It's repeated over and over as an established truth. But keep in mind for p3 that Ellie, the immune, is still very much alive... That's the redemption arc I'd like to see down the line.… Expand

    Fantastic game even when it is not what you expected (history), amazing graphics, truly wonderful characters. Masterpiece that shocks you at the beggining of the adventure and makes you feel many hard emotions. Just one of the greatest games ever only hated for the fanboys that expected happy endings and beautiful smiles everywhere. In love with it forever and got my platinum trophy.

This game some people may say this game is disappointing, well I'd like to say that this game is an absolute masterpiece not just because of the gameplay , the visuals, the details everything is perfect and most importantly the story .Many people argue that because of Joel's death people started treating this game as trash but what i think is this game had the best and i mean the best story that has been written for a game THE BEST SEQUEL to part one. The story is basically about redemption and HOPE eventhough it might be depressing and sad but thats okay at the end of the day this game truly touched my heart HATS OFF to Neil Druckmann and the entire team of Naughty Dog.I really.really hope that in the very near future Naughty Dog makes a part 3 for the game I'd really love it and all the fans of the last of us P.S Neil Druckmann i hope you do make another super duper masterpiece "THE LAST OF US PART 3"… Expand

    I enjoyed the game a lot. Gameplay and combat is really really really good and immersive. The graphics and sound design is top-notch. Now, although the plot is not executed perfectly (hence I gave it a 9, not 10), I think the story seems legit despite the negative reviews (which is most likely just because of a character death). Keep in mind that this is a post-apocalystic world and thereI enjoyed the game a lot. Gameplay and combat is really really really good and immersive. The graphics and sound design is top-notch.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game gets a lot of hate that I think is undeserved because people do not like how this game handled the idea of "Revenge is bad."

    I think that this game handled the idea well. Ellie threw away pretty much everything to go for revenge and Abby's story was basically Joel 2.0, an otherwise terrible person gets a shot at redemption through a friendship with someone that they did not have to help or stick around.

    The gameplay is 9/10 because the sections controlling the boat sucks, the graphics are 10/10, and I would give the story a solid 9/10 even if it didn't end how most people wanted.

    A lot of people have a problem with how this game handled the idea of revenge being bad but then leave glowing reviews for the Red Dead games as well as God of War which are saying pretty much the same thing just in a slightly different manner. Spoilers ahead for both.

    Arthur died for nothing in Red Dead 2 because John tried to get revenge on Micah. This led to the events of the first game which led to John dying and his son, who was never supposed to be an outlaw, becoming a continuation of the man that John was.

    Kratos went on a murdering spree of the Gods in the first few God of War games and ultimately lost everything. In the 2018 reboot we see a man who is broken and trying to be done with the violence and we see how much it weighs on him now. He spends pretty much the entire game trying to tell his son that revenge is not the way.

    My best advice would be to just get the game and give it a go. Best case scenario, you like it like a lot of the fans of the original game did, worst case, you don't like it. For me this is as good as the first game if not just a bit better even if the story is significantly more depressing at the end (not that the first game had a happy ending either).    … Expand

Bueno después de ver todo el odio que la comunidad le ha dado a este juego me di la oportunidad lo compre y realmente el juego me entretuvo de inicio a fin en mi opinion ( mi opinion ) este juego supera en creses al primer juego, creo que el objetivo de los guonistas era el de al principio odiar a abby por haber asesinado a joel y que con el paso de horas de juego el jugador sienta empatia por los enemigos que enfrentamos en la primer mitad del juego y sin ir mas alla conmigo lo lograron a la perfección, senti empatia con abby y no queria que muriera, el hecho de que el juego no sea como los fans quiere que hubiera sido.no lo convierte en un juego basura, por el contrario lo aleja de los tipicos cliches.... para mi este juego no se puede dejar pasar jueguenlo pero alejense de los fanatismos y veran que lo disfrutaran… Expand

    Sinceramente este juego es muy especial. Recomiendo jugarlo sin prejuicios y prestándole atención a la historia. Es increíble el esfuerzo que a metido Naughty Dog en este titulo y considero que si no lo jugaste merece sin dudas una oportunidad.

    Look, The Last of II is in many ways a masterpiece (at least it gets close to being in many areas) and a great follow up to a story that honestly didn't even need continuation. The direction Naughty Dog tried to take the game into was always going to upset a lot of people and at the end of the day this game is about preference. I obviously enjoyed the story (which I know is full of emotional manipulation) to an extent and although I have a bunch of issues with it myself I can give it a pass because its a nice premise which I believe could've been handled way better by Naughty Dog, and it should've been. Why? Because this is a game that has been in development for 7 years and is the follow up to a game a lot of people consider one of the best games of all time. To conclude,

La historia es justificada y aunque sea una tragedia, disfrutas el juego de una manera nostálgica, melancólica, te llena de ira, de querer vengarte. Sin embargo, conforme avanzas en la historia, conoces el otro lado de la moneda.

    Um jogo incrível que de certa forma trouxe coisas inesperadas, com um toque de apreensão era algo e inevitável logo de inicio, mais ele pecou em algumas partes da historia que e preciso uma explicação, caso tenha uma continuação que seja explicado, mais de resto e um jogo excelente e que deu pra ver cada gota de determinação que a equipe nautydog fez, recomendo :D

В момент игры за Эбби по началу не хотелось играть, но после 2 часов, начинаешь к ней привыкать, начинаешь в принципе понимать почему она решила убить Джоела, да возможно это кое-как ее оправдывает, но со скрипом. Есть два замечания по поводу игры. Первое таймлайн повествования, можно было сделать синхронно геймплей за Эбби и Элли. Второе это сюжетная арка со Львом(Лили), было бы круто, если эта девушка была с рождения парнем, но общество навязало ему женскую роль в обществе по какой-нибудь религиозной причине, а он чотел быть войном и все в этом духе… Expand

People who are hating it didn't understand that there are NO HEROES in the last of us, there's no good, nor bad, there's SURVIVAL at ANY costs, and sometimes, that leads to revenge and brutality. For Abby, Joel is a monster, and she wants to avenge her father's death, so she kills Joel. That triggers hatred and brutality inside Ellie and now she seeks revenge.     Never has a piece of media affected me with the intensity that the Last of Us 2 has, and I doubt one ever will. Gorgeous animation, creative gameplay, impeccable writing, I could go on. If you are ready for a gut-wrenching and traumatising but ultimately perfect game, look no further than the Last of Us 2. A truly beautiful masterpiece.

You get to experience the characters as they are written, which is as flawed human beings. This makes it a more passive player experience, which I liked! It was different. I have never been forced to play as a character that I absolutely despised. It was a new feeling and I thought it was brilliant. By the end of Abby’s storyline I didn’t hate her anymore. I didn’t love her either, but I was able to see her more as a whole human being. What an achievement. I felt like the game was sort of a commentary on the political climate in America where we live in extremes politically. We “other” differing point of views to the extent that we no longer see them as fully human. This game forces you to see Abby and others as whole human beings. Art imitates life here, and that’s a harsh reality to face. No person is 100% good or bad. We are all a mix of good and bad and we all do dumb stuff/ make bad choices sometimes. It’s a game that teaches empathy and does require some emotional intelligence/ maturity. If you don’t understand the ending then I feel like maybe you’re not mature enough to play the game.… Expand

    Just finished the game and loved it. I don’t get why it is so hated by so many people. The story was so dark and different than anything else I’ve ever seen and I am super impressed. I hope this never ends. Please make a new one - pretty please!

    It’s obvious from so many zeros that many never touched the game, as far as I’m concerned any score under an 8 to me is a troll, this game is a master class in storytelling, I’m still thinking about this game even 6 months after release, it’s a bonafide masterpiece 10/10

    I finally played the game after some time has passed since the backlash. And I.. I just... Jesus Christ. I can't believe how good this is. This game... I've never felt so sad, so emotionally drained by a game, or almost any piece of media. I don't know what to say. Just that you should experience this in your own way. Try to stay away from any preconceptions and go through this.

Сперва играть не хотел из за отзывов других пользователей сети, но все же не жалею сейчас о времени которое провел в TLOU2. Как уже ранее писали, моя жизнь не будет прежней теперь. Это пожалуй единственная игра на сегодняшний день которая вызвала у меня такие эмоции. Я словно потерял человека которого знал всю жизнь! Хотел бы я что то в ней изменить? Пожалуй только уход одного из ГГ! Но дерьмо случается. В реальной жизни все было бы где то так же. Ни один герой вселенной TLOU не заслужил такой участи. Разве что отец Эбби, который готов был пойти на все ради вакцины. Но я уверен на 100% что у него бы все равно ничего не вышло! Я очень был рад тому что Элли не стала тварью и в конце задумалась, о том, что он не хотел бы видеть ее такой.
    Н. Дракман все же гений и у него получилось. Он логично закончил эту историю. Я не разочарован, скорее подавлен (, 8 пальцев из 10.

This game is just amazing , just finished it now and if not the best but it’s for sure one of the best games of the decade , every aspect of this game is good , the graphics , story , gameplay , sound system , movement, just everything is awesome and immersive, before i played it i heard a lotta people giving **** about the death of joel but when i put myself in abby’s shoes i understand why she decided to kill him , yes i love joel but for good or worse this is what the director chose for tlou2’s path and I’m totally fine with it , this game gives you every feeling in this world , happiness, sadness , fear it’s like a tv series or something, the way that your enemies give callouts to each other is a great detail , opening the safes were really cool (some of them were the same but i never got to say something like damn another safe lets skip this one) the weather man the vibes that it gives you is beautiful. The graphics.. I don’t even know how the 7 year old can run this game on 30fps with no problem it’s the best graphics I’ve seen on a console , the game is polished I haven’t seen any glitches or bugs. This game just kept me to itself and i played nothing other than lou2 in the past 3 days.
    the only con that i can find is the fights , most of the times the fights can be the same and it’s a little bad but if you’re creative enough you can find different ways to defeat the enemies and not just playing stealthy , so yeah I highly recommend you to play this and the last of us part 1 game    … Expand

    Don't listen who doesn't like this game. It's simply masterpiece. Graphics, mechanics, story, and the lenght of the game are satisfying. It's like a good & long movie that you can play. I had no rush so i finished yesterday. Time-to-time i felt like i'm playing Resident Evil 2, but i loved that game too so it's not bad sign at all. :D You should experience this game at least once if you'reDon't listen who doesn't like this game. It give you the meaning of life itself, As the first game, it was a brutal journey and phenomenal story about hate, love and forgiveness, and everything that is good and bad in this broken world. For what i believe if you want to make a good story as the last of us don't give the fans something they want give theme something that will change their point of view over the story and what they really deserve. Of course Joel Miller was one of the greatest character ever made in any media, and he is my favorite character of all time but sadely he didn't make it. His death was so bad and cruel and that's what make this story so special it gives the character what they realy deserve but in the end of course it didn't succed to the same level as the first one. In the end try to understand the story and don't listen to the others who didn't play the game. BE OPEN MINDED.… Expand

    in my opinion this game is great but not perfect. its gameplay is just incredible, it has a lot of action or stealth if that is what you like. its graphics is something that you cannot see at all its glory in a YouTube video. the music is good but not remarkable, there are no memorable tracks but the ones they have get the job done. now the controversy the narrative, the narrative is good tending to decent. like the story may not be good for everyone but still that is not a enough reason to give this game a 0/10 or a 1/10 and this is the reason I do this review. so well the story is enjoyable like its not really bad neither really good like the last game "The Last of Us" even though I only see one major problem with the narrative, I am a person that can enjoy a lot of stuff and understand almost everybody's preferences so I get why people dont like this game but for me this is unacceptable. when you are like about 15 hours in a really tense moment the game cuts and goes to a flashback. All the tension thay managed to make got completely lost. like you can do it later but it is not going to be the same. And it would be ok if the flashback would be short but it takes like other 7-15 hours and then the scene goes back and maybe you forgot about it already. now other controversy, the ending, the ending got me like furious due to the game story and then the ending is well. how can i say it it feels empty like something is missing. like quick flashbacks ( people that played the game know what I mean ) and you maybe can understand the decision.

    the characters well they are like empty. they are not as good as the first game but get the job done.

    The weapons. the weapons are good ( I am not going to mention them due to maybe someone taking it as an spoiler ) every gun is usable and fun to use and have different strong-points and its weak-points so if you want to be more efficient you may need to exchange once in a while but every weapon gets the main job done, to kill enemies.

    My conclusion is that the game is worth at least giving it a shot. or even only for the gameplay. the characters are decent and get the job done, the weapons are fun to use and good in most situations.

    The game is a masterpiece, the gameplay, graphics and plot are 10 out of 10. In the end, even a stingy tear breaks through )
    The mechanics of the game are built so that gives great pleasure from killing enemies, both zombies and people. The game is quite long, but during this time it does not get boring, there is always some twist or TURN! It will be one of my five favorite games of all time.

    Awesome story. It does not compare to the story of the first game, but achieves a compelling, emotional, and stressful sequel. Don’t let the bad reviewers blind you, it is the most compelling game I’ve played after the Witcher 3.

I recently bought and played it after finishing the first one and i couldn't put the game down because i had to know what was going to happen. 2 days later i beat the game. Took about 30 hours and i didn't regret a second playing it. The story definitely isn't for everyone, but it's memorable and masterfully stacked up to a conclusion that leaves you thinking for days. As someone who's played it four times since launch, I can confidently say that the more you understand each character and the more time you spend exploring their motives the more you will enjoy it.
    When it comes to gameplay, the leap from the first game in animation, 3d sound, enemy dialogue, and atmosphere make it the most harrowing, realistic experience I've ever seen. This is a game best experienced while completely immersed. Enemies will have unique names, and they'll communicate with each other based on the situation. The more immersed you are, the more satisfying the gameplay will be. In addition, the game is capable of making you feel many different kinds of fear, although it's definitely not a horror game. The brutality of the gameplay combined with the story take the player on a distinct emotional journey.
    The score is very subtle, but it's also phenomenal not just in terms of composition but also motifs, which reinforce the story and the thoughts of the characters. Props to Gustavo Santaolalla for the emotional story-driven music, and to Mac Quayle for providing the oppressive combat and stealth music that contribute so much to the atmosphere.
    Visually, this game is on par with Uncharted 4, God of War, Red Dead Redemption 2. It's amazing how well Naughty Dog optimizes the experience, and the visuals are striking and beautiful. The game has been free of bugs for me as well.
    The acting is top notch, with incredible performances from Troy Baker, Ashley Johnson, and Laura Bailey, along with the vast supporting cast of characters.
    In summary, this is an emotional journey that explores revenge from many perspectives. It goads the player on, only to make them regret their actions later. The story is controversial, but I thought it was incredibly well thought out and executed. The gameplay is tense, realistic, violent, and purposeful. With great music, graphics, performances, and more, this is a truly unforgettable experience.    … Expand
