    IGNORE every single idiot saying "paid critics" or "sjw" or giving this game a 0/10.

    Just complete nonsense from salty, salty chuds. The only power they have is review bombing a game that will stay acclaimed and successful no matter how they cry.

    The game is a masterpiece, amazing gameplay, beautiful visuals, great characters, a perfect continuation of the story of part 1.

    Don't trust the negative review bombing. This is by far the best narrative and story telling i have seen so far with insane level of details
    Playtime is ~30 hours and every scene you see or play clearly shows that a **** ton of work has gone into this game.
    The game has the best graphics you can get on a ps4 pro (which i played it on first) and even puts some ps5 exclusives to shame.    Don't trust the negative review bombing. This is by far the best narrative and story telling i have seen so far with insane level of details

    The game has the best graphics you can get on a ps4 pro (which i played it on first) and even puts some ps5 exclusives to shame. The improvements on the ps5 system are neglectable but nice to have (60fps or 4k and faster loading).

    I encountered no bugs, glitches or crashes in 2 playthroughs.

    Playing through the first the last of us is mandatory to get the most out of this story.
    The story needs you to be open minded and having empathy. If you cant deal with a story without plotarmor, this is not for you. Some people have really strong opinions about this one but i don't want to spoil you. Lets compare it to Game of Thrones: Some ppl are huge Oberyn Martell fans and cant deal with the fact that he got his head crushed by the mountain. A huge part of the negative reviews are because of that. These reviews are unjustified but i get that it sucks to loose a character in a show or game that you love.

    The gameplay is not complex at all and most of it is exploring or fighting. The animations here again are extraordinary. Over all you should not buy this game for its gameplay alone. If you seek for a skill challenge there are other games like dark souls, hollow night or whatever. Overall this is a point i can see why someone would reduce their final verdict on this game by some points. For me the gameplay fits its purpose well and exploring the last of us part 2 is fun and does not distract you from the story.

    The game is brutal in every way. The story is dark. The violence in this game is sometimes over the top but helps to deliver the dark times ppl go through in this game. If you cant stand aggression and violence in games/movies i dont recomment this game to you.

    Homophobic ppl seem to review bomb this game as well. Hard to explain without spoiling but this game does not force political statements. It just represents people of all kind and some homophobic idiots get triggered because of it. Its not even that big of a deal when you play through it.

    Overall if you seek for a story driven game in a violent postapocalyptic world the last of us part 1 and 2 is the best you can get.    … Expand

    This game is not the masterpiece “professional” game critics claim it is. It’s just a solid game. And as for some of the negative reviews claiming this game has woke messaging, I certainly didn’t notice any, and I’m as anti-woke as they come.. The only messaging this game has is in the themes I covered above..

    I'd love to explain why this deserves a 10 but I cant fully put it into words, this game has continued to stick with me and effect me since finishing it. I'll never be able to experience a game like this again and that saddens me. It's so sad to see all of the unwarranted hate.

    I don’t even know how to explain the whole game but this game has probably the best emotional experience ı’ve ever witnessed.The whole presentation of characters and consequences is just spectacular.The gameplay feels so satisfying and overall this is just a unique experience.

    I personally liked the game a lot, the story was amazing, and the plot twists were great. The message this game gives is quite interesting.

    The gameplay was really good, I really enjoyed it! Also the voice acting was top notch.

    I would definitely recommend this game to others.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After completing the Uncharted series I thought I couldn't love any other game series more than that, but playing through last of us remastered and last of us part 2 changed that (naughty dog once again did their magic)

    I know there is a lot of hate around this game, after finishing the game in one stretch I can't quite figure out why some people hate this game so much.

    SPOILERS AHEAD

    When I had to start playing as Abby halfway into the game, I wasn't really comfortable too, in fact, I hated the first few hours of it, didn't care about picking up supplies or artifacts, or didn't feel like upgrading Abby or anything. But by the end of playing as Abby, I was praying that don't make me kill Ellie as Abby or wise versa.

    I'm just so happy the game ended the way it did, I don't know how else it could have been better. This is definitely one of the best media entertainment experiences that I have ever had.

    Developers were quite successful at making the players feel all the emotions at each time, and I think they were so good at it that some people got too upset and unknowingly became true haters.

    yeah, I spelled it right, "TRUE HATERS", not the pumped-up ones, I'm sure a good chunk of the hate and negative reviews are fabricated. If you look at the percentage of people who achieved the trophy for completing the story "WHAT I HAD TO DO" is nearly half of the people who own the game. so I can be sure that a good amount of people became so uncomfortable at some peak points or got fed up with the hate campaigns or for some other reason stopped playing the game at some point and went straight up to be haters without knowing what the game has left to offer them.

    Anyway, I'd give a 100/10 review score if I could for this game.

For gamers who are angry because they’re unable to comprehend and cope with such rich storytelling, I say you probably shouldn’t watch some of the greatest movies of all time because they’ll be triggered by decisions made by the film makers there too.     you enter a vast location and start your journey in secret, after killing one of the victims you may be noticed, then an action scene will begin, usually in stealth action games this is where the end of the battle begins, due to a shortage of ammunition you will not be able to kill all opponents and you will have to hide. The game gives you smooth transitions between action and stealth that many stealth action games don't have.
    The plot of the game is powerful, I can say that I liked the story and I do not see any critical disadvantages in it that completely break the game.
    Technically, the game is made superbly on PS4, there are no FPS drops and in general everything is played comfortably.

    Mostly everything is an improvement on Part 1. The elephant in the room would be the story, and while I understand many did not like the story direction, I personally did. The perspective and moral switch was executed very well, but of course a sacrifice was made. Personally, I love the weight of loss in media. It can hit hard, shock, and temper emotional connection.     Masterpiece. This game was a great experience for me. It's so intense... You may not like the story, it may not be the one you wanted but it doesn't show that this game is garbage. Beyond all those mechanics, graphics and gameplay stuff, which was great, I think the story was amazing. You may find yourself emotionally in pieces in the story, because I think it was the most realistic storyMasterpiece. This game was a great experience for me. It's so intense... You may not like the story, it may not be the one you wanted but it doesn't show that this game is garbage.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I will say it right now, this is one of the best games ever made, and just as good as the first, if not better. I wholeheartedly hold that sentiment and always will

    The "Issues" people have mainly lie with Joel's death. I think it was an absolutely key thing for the story to do, and was done masterfully. Death does not have mercy in the real world. We don't get to choose when our loved ones die and how they do so. Joel's death came so abruptly and the sudden, unexpectedness of how he died honestly felt like the painful times I found out a loved one died.

    People will say "But he wasn't cautious enough! That's not the Joel we know!"
    4 years have passed. 4. We know from the previous game that while Joel may be cautious, he is emotionally prone to manipulation. He gets accustomed to something for a while, and it reflects on him. He didn't take too well on Ellie initially, and as he spent more time with her, she began to feel like a daughter to him. The Joel who left Boston would have NEVER rushed into that surgery room to save Ellie. Matter of fact, the Joel who left Boston was different by the end of the first game, because he had abandoned that whole idea of even returning to Boston. He gave up that life as a smuggler... to be with Ellie. The writing of the first game reinforces the idea that Joel. who spent 4 years in Jackson living a relatively safe, comfortable life, will let his guard down. We learn from writings in the second game that Jackson frequently has people passing through, and that too is another thing Joel would have let his guard down on. The majority of his interactions, if not all, with outsiders in Jackson were likely positive ones, and the one he had with Abby's group probably was not anything he had not been through. Knowing the area she was in and seeing how her leading them to their camp was in the interest of everyone, him trusting Abby isn't some forbidden thought out of this world.

    Another point of tension that the game actually did very well was the humanization of the other side. I hated Abby with a passion the moment that she killed Joel, but as Ellie and Dina started to get hurt in their pursuit for an illusion of justice, I started to doubt whether continuing the cycle of revenge would be worth it. Things didn't seem satisfactory when they began discovering the dead members of Abby's group, and when Ellie killed Owen and Mel, that feeling only grew stronger. By then, I started to view Ellie in a negative light. Shortly after, when Abby shot Tommy and Jesse, that feeling of revenge grew back again, but the story cuts us off. We see Abby's story with our own eyes. We see the pain Joel and Ellie have inflicted on others, and it breaks the idea of the main character being some hero incapable of doing any wrong. It does something unique; to show the other side of things. I felt the same pain for Abby looking at her dead dad as I did for Ellie looking at Joel.

    The writing, once again, is masterful and forces uncomfortable truths onto the player. I recently tried playing it again, and I can't bring myself to get through it. The game knows how to play with your emotions, and the change in those emotions is drastic. I feel scared, vulnerable, and emotionally conflicted. No game or movie has ever done that to me. I wanted revenge, but at what cost?

    The graphics are amazing and speak for themselves. The new engine is amazing and way ahead of its time. I love the little details like the intro, where Jesse finds out Ellie kissed Dina, and you can see Jesse's silhouette behind the curtain after the door is slammed on him, or during the Museum flashback, where Ellie's space helmet fogs up while she's talking. Best part? It's all rendered in real-time, which only lends a greater feeling of awe and immersion when you seamlessly move from cinematic to gameplay. Speaking about the gameplay, it is one of the best out there. UI is crisp, doesn't try too hard, doesn't try too little. Mechanics aren't complicated and keep you in touch with the story while feeling like you're contributing. The mini-puzzles to get from one place to another are fun, while the attention to detail in voluntary exploration add a whole other level of emotional investment into the environment. Gunplay is dramatic, versatile, and awe-grasping. Everything feels high-stakes and cinematic.

    Those hating on this game largely seem to be denialists who are mad Joel died. The game to them is supposed to be some hero simulator where Ellie and Joel go save the world or something. I'm glad the writing moved the plot in an amazing way, told a meaningful story about revenge and life, and manipulated your raw emotions to the point where you feel like you're in the characters' shoes. Such an amazing experience I am thankful to have been able to enjoy, and am fully satisfied with where the series ended as a story. I will most certainly be enjoying the PS5 remaster for the first game when it comes out!    … Expand

Eu parabenizo a Naughty Dog pela coragem de subverter as expectativas até então criadas antes do lançamento o que fez criar um onda de hate de pessoas que se diziam fãs da franquia simplesmente pelo curso da história não seguir o que eles queriam. Os temas são pesados e é isso que faz TLOU serEste foi um dos melhores jogos que eu tive o prazer de jogar e se tornou meu preferido da vida.     The excellent gameplay of the first game was basically expanded on to make this masterpiece. Story is incredibly compelling and from several points of view like a Miyazaki film. Can't wait to see where part three will take us!

You'll not only be fighting infected but other tribes/groups. Exploring certain places without knowing if there are infected or not can be super intense, especially if you're playing on a harder difficulty. 10/10

    Story:

    The story is GOLD. The Last of Us Part II, is a sequel for the first game "The Last of Us". From start to end, there are no story-wise imperfections. All the plot-twists and places you'll go are extraordinary. The story has a lot of action and drama. Most people didn't like it because it didn't surpass their expectations. Don't listen to them, the story is perfect as it is. 10/10

    Characters:

    The characters are my favorite part of the game. The Last of Us Part II portrays the characters' emotions and actions way better than the first game. This sequel overall is all about character development and the characters' actions. You'll form a bond with each and every character in the game, which I find amazing. If you like to see characters grow as a person, The Last of Us Part II is certainly for you. 10/10

    Visuals/Sound:

    The game looks beautiful, especially if you're playing on 4K 60fps. Some parts of the game can be frustrating but then you just realize how good the game looks and all your worries go away. If you're riding a horse or just running around town the games looks AWESOMEE! The fighting is also so smooth and satisfying.

    If you're using 3D audio headphones or just surround sound speakers it seems like you're actually inside the game. Sometimes I get startled by the sound of bullets hitting cars! Even if you don't have 3D audio headphones, the audio is still amazing.. seriously. All the voice acting is so perfect! I just love it, and I bet you'll love it too! 10/10

    Overall:

    Naughty Dog did an astonishing job on this sequel. I and thousands/millions of other people loved The Last of Us Part II. If you're looking into buying this game, please do. You won't be disappointed! I said this dozens of times throughout this review.. but I am being completely honest when I say this game is amazing. If I could, I would give this game way more than 5 stars! Thank you, Naughty Dog.

Hear me out... yes Joel's death was heartbreaking and unexpected but it sets the stage for the story, and yes not being able to kill abby at the end is annoying although necessary. Anyone who thought that the ending was going to be uplifting and heart-warming needs to remember that they are playing the last of us, not some kids game, a post apocalyptic world where everything is supposed to be grim and dark after society collapsed. Everyone has to revert to insanely horrific actions in order to save themselves and everyone around them. I also see people complaining about how naughty dog ruined Joel's character but remember at the start of the first game he trusted no one but throughout the story he begins to trust again? Years after staying safe in a town with hundreds of other people means that you will eventually trust again but in Joel's case it came back to bite him. I loved this game and no matter what other people say I think it will always remain an amazing game with great story telling.… Expand

The thing about this game is that people are mad about Joel’s death, which is understandable, but you have to realize it was the more realistic option. Joel, Tommy, Ellie, Abbie, Dina, all of them have to die eventually. And I’m an apocalypse, death is bound to happen. The story was utter greatness. Everything that happened was just plain stunning. graphics are the best I’ve seen out of any game I’ve ever played. And the gameplay exceeds the first game by a long shot. While Abbie may have been irritating at first, playing as her, and seeing all the back flashes and everything made me realize that there was a reason for Joel’s death. This game has a fun and exiting twist around every corner and if I had to, I would’ve spent every penny in the world on it.… Expand

    Part 1 has been & continues to be my favourite game of all time, because I believed that no other video game can extract a certain emotional response, like it did. I genuinely bonded with characters like never before. I was completely overwhelmed by anger, hate & sadness. Joel Miller, had been brutally killed off! Okay so we've now established the motive in the game right? "Kill Abby No Matter What!" Wrong... now we must continue to play as Joel's murderer for just as, if not longer than we play as Ellie. They both killed each other's "Dads" I guess, but they both lost their partners, family, friends & peace... not to mention that Ellie loses her fingers so she's unable to play the guitar the way she could.

    I guess the point was to enlighten us on the topic of empathy, but here's the thing... we play video games to escape reality in a safe, healthy & entertaining manner. After I finished this game, I was genuinely depressed, I didn't feel to play anything after that... Fast forward 2 years later, I decided to play again but this time I had a "better" take on it. I appreciated the gameplay, the graphics, I noticed the amount of effort that went into making this game. This game is extremely well made & it plays so much better than the first one. The AI are almost impossible on grounded mode... But I also realised something else, there is no other game that can do what this game has done for me... the amount of rage that I felt for characters in a game cannot be replicated, so Naughtydog really knows how to "tickle" your emotions. If I never played it a second time, I would have probably given it a 4... it loses points for Joel's death but I think it deserves a 8 (extra points for adding Permadeath.) I think it all boils down to personal preference, but in my opinion... overall fantastic work Naughtydog/Sony, but story-wise, I think it could've been better told. I also like dark stuff, but I would like to see the person I've bonded with get to live & preferably not play as the person I want to kill. P.S. I'm currently trying to get the grounded trophy. It's very difficult, you should play through couple times to get all the other trophies before attempting this.    … Expand

    Story - 8. The biggest problem with TLOU 2’s story isn’t the non-existent “plot holes”, or it’s supposed “wokeness” (gay people exist, cope), but rather it’s pacing. The pacing of TLOU 1 is flawless. The pacing of TLOU 2 is all over the place. This is because of the dual narrative arch’s and many flashback sequences that show how Ellie’s relationship with Joel changed since the ending of the first game. As far as the actual narrative itself though, it’s strong. Like tlou 1 the premise is simple, but it’s the characters that give the story depth. The way they emote, the way they say one thing and do another, they way can convey so much with just subtle glances. Tlou 1 did all these things before very well, and tlou 2 follows suit.

    Gameplay - 10. Massive improvement over part one. Anyone who says they are the same is being intellectually dishonest or wearing rose tinted goggles. Part 1 feels very dated in all aspects except story at this point, it’s nearly 9 years old. The ability to break glass, go prone, and jump coupled with open ended arenas is a big improvement over the first game. You can disagree, but you’re wrong.

    Final score: 9. Beat it twice, probs gonna go for a 3rd run when tlou part 1 is released.    … Expand

    All developed as should.
    We already knew TLOU1 Ellie, but this Ellie, she was different. She wasn't the sane person Joel tried to "make". She was reckless, driven by fury with only one goal in mind. Revenge. She had the chance to get what she wanted, twice but deep down she knew that by killing Abby she was no different. But it was too late at that point. All was lost.

    Abby started as a character meant to be hated. And she was. The first hours as Abby were a punch in the gut, as if the story tried to make fun of the love we had for Joel. But...was she right after all? Was Joel's actions really the correct ones? Or was Abby right to act the way she did. The answer lies somewhere in the middle. Her motives were right but here actions, just like Ellie's were driven by the wrong reasons. She overstepped and she ruined the lives of many people including her own. She changed however. She had the chance to kill Ellie but because of Lev, the "thing" as Isaac described him, who he saved and who, in my mind, was a mirror of TLOU1 Joel and Ellie.

    Lastly, the irony of it all. The only thing that Ellie managed was to save Abby. And that completes a perfect circle in my opinion making this game one of the best storytelling experiences.

    I can't be bothered to analyse the next part but the only negative was the gameplay. The stealth mechanics were unchanged and boring and every time I came across Scars, or Wolves, or zombies, or in the end Rattlers, the game was more of a hassle than an enjoyable experience.

In my opinion, the reason so many people hate this game is because they gave up on it at the start and never gave it a true chance for you to experience it but instead they shut down and refused to give it a chance.     Desde una jugabilidad espectacular y disfrutable; a una historia llena de sorpresas, momentos de suspenso y angustia o también de alegría y felicidad, todo esto puede transcurrir en solo unos pocos segundos y que definitivamente deja atrapado al espectador.

    Historia:

    Este juego se atrevió a pisar un terreno muy peligros, destrozando algo muy significativo para los jugadores que disfrutaron enormemente (incluyéndome) la primera entrega de esta saga, lo cual genera una gran brecha en las opiniones.
    En los personal es algo original y arriesgado y el resultado final fue muy bueno, logrando una mezcla de emociones y sentimientos en los diversos personajes al entender sus situaciones.
    Talvez un punto bajo de esto es que al introducir personajes nuevos a esta entrega, esas emociones que el juego trata de que el espectador lo sienta no son tal fuertes o comprensibles como con los personajes de la entrega anterior, pero también es algo muy poco frecuente e interesante este tipo de situaciones.

    Arte:

    La música que interpreta el ambiente, los escenarios post-apocalípticos llenos de infectos, los barrios abandonados, o los diversos asentamientos de sobrevivientes, son simplemente hermosos y cautivadores.

    Gameplay:

    Probablemente la parte mas importante de un juego.
    La gran variedad de armas y mecánicas permiten distintos estilos de juego para enfrentarse con los múltiples enemigos, desde infectados espeluznantes a personas de varios asentamientos diferentes.
    puedes elegir el estilo dependiendo de los recursos disponibles o la situación en la que te encuentres.
    La inteligencia artificial de los npc's es difícil de vencer.
    La dificultad dependerá de los ajustes, puedes jugar con modificaciones como la munición infinita, o tratar de acabar el juego con solo un intento en la modalidad mas desafiante.

    para finaliza, lo malo:
    Hay algunas situaciones donde existen pequeños erros lógicos en el diseño del juego, como por ejemplo:
    - Cuando Ellie ataca a Abby cuando esta le persigue en el teatro con un bate en lugar de su escopeta.
    - Cuando Abby y Joel llegan al campamento de los lobos, estos ya están preparados para luchar con los infectados.

    Estos son erros muy imperceptibles pero decisivos y que pueden generar incoherencia, es sorprendente para un juego que se enfoca tanto en los pequeños detalles.

    Aun así en lo personal no es algo muy influyente, ya que la gran mayoría de obras tienen estos errores que son muy difíciles percibir (la primera vez que lo jugué no me percate de nada de esto),

    En resumen: es un juego que valió la pena totalmente, y que lo seguiré jugado anualmente por que es muy re-jugable por el gameplay desafiante y entretenido al igual que el gran ambiente de suspenso que genera la historia, como dije al inicio sencillamente es una obra maestra.    … Expand

    O primeiro jogo dessa franquia foi o jogo da minha vida e certamente não perderia para a parte 2, uma vez que ali foi o começo de tudo. Apesar de jogar The Last of Us II pensando nisso, não pude deixar de notar o quão boa essa continuação é !

Apesar de jogar The Last of Us II pensando nisso, não pude deixar de notar o quão boa essa continuação é !

    For me this is an absolute masterpiece because of many things. First, graphics. It was the best game visually I ever played, all of the details are amazing. Second, history. The Last of Us 1 was extremely good and the second part was not behind. I just have to say thank to Naughty Dog for letting me have the experience of playing a game like this. I'm pretty sure I'll be talking about thisFor me this is an absolute masterpiece because of many things. First, graphics. It was the best game visually I ever played, all of the details are amazing.     Maybe not the ideal sequel for everyone but if you are open-minded and you realise whats the point of the game i am sure that you will enjoy this journey as much as i do

    Игра вызвала у меня очень много эмоций, у меня много раз были мурашки по коже, даже сейчас когда я вспоминаю об этой игре. одна из моих любимых игр.
    Сюжет очень интересный, не хуже чем в первой части, мир интересно исследовать, записки, левлдизайн, атмосфера умершего мир, всё на высшем уровне, графика на моей слимке выглядит невероятно, безумно красивый саудтрек.

    есть я так доволен игрой, тогда почему всего 8 баллов?
    как сильно я обожаю эту игру, так же сильно и ненавижу...
    вторая половина игры за эбби, это ужас.
    её мотивы мне не понятны, она выглядит как танк, мне не жаль этого персонажа, у меня нет никакого сопереживания к нему, она просто ужасна.
    к тому же, после того что она сделала, играть за неё буквально не хочется, омерзительная женщина.
    но финал игры опять даёт кучу эмоций, на которых ты уже и строишь у себя в голове вывод о том какая это игры.
    в чём сюжет собственно?
    СПОЙЛЕРЫ!
    джоэл убил отца эбби задолго до событий второй части, чтобы спасти свою дочь в виде элли, потому что под конец первой части игры, он любил её как собственную дочь, заменив сару в лице элли.
    после чего эбби начинает искать человека который убил её отца, собирает команду людей, которые хотели отомстить, отобрав жизнь у джоэла.
    они таки свершили месть на глазах у элли, после чего уже элли готовит свой план мести этим людям.
    идя по их головам по голову эбби. после чего она решает встать на путь истинный, когда эбби даёт ей шанс, понимаю во что это может перерасти. в конце концов месть забирает у элли всё и она остаётся совсем одна.    … Expand

    An Absolute technical masterpiece , we can argue about the story all day but I don't think people can deny the technical achievements of this game with masterpiece combat and stealth mechanics.

    People keep crying about loss of main character from previous game. I don't believe this, so many cry babies screaming for moms milk. I have not played this game till few days ago because i have listened to babies advice about how ,,Bad it is" Bull*hit!!!! Game is an absoulte MASTERPIECE!!!!!!!!! Story is PERFECT.Graphics...BRILLIANT!!! Gameplay is also TOUGH but GREAT!!! I like it thisPeople keep crying about loss of main character from previous game.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
