This game was a lot of fun. I had a blast. The story was good, but it was depressing. It wasn't bad. It examines the two sides in any revenge story. It had great flashbacks. Hopefully we'll get single-player DLC that takes place between part 1 and part 2. Reminds me of Kill Bill for some reason.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is an incredible, generation-defining game. To those who feel upset that it's not an "ideal" story, and that you don't end up liking any of the characters – that's entirely the point. Nobody is right in war and violence, everybody has their reasons for doing things – however irrational they may be – and in a post-apocalyptic world that they're living in, everybody is just trying to cope.

There is both beauty and brutality throughout the game. A number of characters are given satisfying arcs, sometimes ending all too soon. We go from one "side" to another, unable to decide who it is we truly care about. We're forced to empathise with both sides of the story, which is something clearly more of us need to do.

I'm sorry that some people out there are sad that a certain character isn't a big part of this game. Perhaps they should replay Part 1 if they need to scratch that itch. Once they're done scratching, I hope they come to realise that Part 2 is an infinitely more rich and immersive game that doesn't rely simply on rehashing the original.

Overall I would give it a 9.5. Since that isn't an option and there are wayyy too many stupid reviews of 0-4 already here, I round it up.

There is something seriously wrong with the gaming community if they **** all over the hard of work people because of stuff like that. People work their ass for years and then some little entitled dickheads want to **** all over it. Some people need to get a life or at least get their head out of their ass and educate themselves about game development before being idiots like that.

Don't like the game? Fine, go and make your own game and see how that works out.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Firstly I would say that people are confusing a game with a story they didn't like with a game that is trash. Yes this story wasn't what alot of people where expecting but that in no way makes it bad. Naughty Dog told the story they wanted to tell and for me it was an absolute privilege to play through it. The most important thing to me about a games story is that it has to make me feel something and I can safely say this game succeed in that. I was looking forward to seeing the progression of Ellie and Joels relationship so when Joel died I was deeply saddened... But thats a good thing and made the moments you spend with Joel in the game even more heartbreaking and I loved it and by the end of the game I was deeply satisfied by the progression of their relationship. This game isn't afraid to make you feel sad and for some gamers that isn't what they want out of a game but as a filmaker I adore this level of storytelling. I really can't find the words for how much I enjoyed the story, all aspects of it, the quiet moments between Ellie and Tommy, the guitar playing with Dina etc. Such a beautiful story that I imagine took a herculean effort from everyone at naughty dog to make. The voice acting and mocap where stunning, the soundtrack is gorgeous, graphically the game boggles my mind with how good it is. I will admit that for the first maybe 20mins playing as Abby I was unsure about how I felt but she quickly grew on me and was a fantastic addition to the game as she is a beautifully flawed character questioning her morals and her and Ellies collision is beautiful once you know what they both took from eachother.

I really love this game. Just because it isn't the story some people wanted doesn't make it a bad story/game and I find myself getting frustrated with peoples criticisms. For me this game took around 30+ hours to complete and for everyone negative review that was posted on day of release I find it really hard to believe that all of those people completed the game in less than 24 hours. The review bombing is immature and paints a distorted picture of how good this game is.

Dine and Eliies relationship was perfect, they complement eachother so well and in the absence of Joel I was more than happy exploring with Dina. And as Abby getting to play alonside her friends was also a blast. Again I love that this game made me feel emotions and it isn't a bad thing because of it. If people want to play a story that isn't complex and challenging to comprehend emotionally then thats fine but you can't bomb the game in response.

I love every aspect of this game and cannot wait to replay it (thanks btw for having new game+). This game made me feel sad, angry, frustrated, happy etc and its truly beautiful and is my game of the year without a doubt. Everyone at NaughtyDog I thank you all for this masterclass in storytelling and gaming, you have once again raised the bar so good luck with your next project :).

Yeah it was upsetting that Joel was killed and I wasn’t a fan of Abby through much of the game even while playing her. And yeah I might have let her die a time or ten when I didn’t have to, but it made me feel a little better. I watched as Abby tried to redeem herself by helping Yara and Lev. And I watched as Ellie became darker in her quest for revenge. The last fight between Ellie and Abby is downright brutal. In my opinion, Abby was the winner in the end. Abby and Lev leave the resort together while Ellie finds she she no home to go back to. The only reason I left a point off is because Naughty Dog should have put in a cut scene when Ellie successfully releases the first runner at the Resort to wreak havoc on the Rattlers. You can hear the screams, groans and gun shots, but it would have been better if you could have watched it all. I sincerely hope that Naughty Dog makes a part 3. If they do, I hope they don’t try to play it safe to try to appease some of the fans. By the way, anyone that thinks the whole lesbian and transgender business should have been left out of the game...grow up. You have no problem with characters getting hung, gutted, burned or riddled with bullets, but anything having to do with LGBT and you get squeamish. That says more about you then the game itself. Just except the fact that your a bigot and move on with your life. You should just play it safe and stick with nintendo games. Expand

Amazing game and it is sad how many people are not even giving it a chance and/or are just too close minded to understand the story and the ending. The last of us 2 crafts a story about forgiveness and revenge whereas both Ellie and Abby go down a path of revenge that leads to another path of forgiveness after losing everything around them. The game has amazing themes and makes the player understand Abby and what her motives were when she killed Joel. This story doesn’t really have a villain. Both Ellie and Abby have their motivations for seeking revenge and it is understandable, but neither of them are villains. They are just trying to seek justice for their loved ones and in that process, they lose a lot of themselves. Abby loses her loved ones as she focuses solely on training and her obsession of killing Joel and even after she fulfils her goal, she still has nightmares of her father’s death. This shows that taking revenge did not really help her and she lost all of her humanity in the process. Her humanity only comes back in the pivotal theater scene where she spares Ellie and Dina for Lev and she decides to leave them. Ellie also goes through a similar story where she starts by obsessing over revenge, losing herself in the killing which takes a huge toll on her as she becomes a completely different person. She kills many people on her path to revenge, including a pregnant Mel which takes the biggest piece of humanity from Ellie. Naughty Dog shows the player how much this kill affects Ellie and how she feels about what she is doing. She is so unsure the entire game and Naughty Dog nails that feeling for the player. As the player we feel the uncertainty of Ellie’s choices and see how revenge is consuming her humanity. As we go through the story, we see Ellie lose almost everything. She loses Jesse, Dina, JJ, and even her own fingers so she can’t even play the guitar Joel gave her which shows just how much Ellie lost on her path of revenge. By the end, Ellie realizes that forgiveness is the better choice than revenge and sees that revenge will give her nothing but pain so she spares Abby in the final fight. Overall, this game is an amazing sequel to one of the best games ever made and is just as good, if not better than the first one. This game makes the player feel a plethora of emotions throughout and i love it. The gameplay is on another level as well. The gameplay is miles better than the first The Last of Us as we have a refined movement and combat system. The gameplay is even better than the story and i loved it. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Understanding TLOU 2 has an important factor in being open to the story the developers wanted to tell you. This game was done a massive injustice before it even launched, with people deciding they didn't like it based on leaks, some of which turned out to not even be true. The game had a user score of 3.5 within the first few hours of being released despite a 25 hour~ average completion time. It was review bombed.

Today as I review there is definitely bad faith reviewers on both sides. Some people are so angry at people liking the game, they review it a low score to keep it low. Some people are so angry at people hating the game, they review it 10/10 just to try combat the low score. Neither are worth listening to and are pretty easy to identify.

The truth, really, is that the game has some flaws, and it has a lot of pro's in my opinion that made it an 8/10 game for me. The game isn't a revenge story like people imply and instead a story about revenge not being the closure it seems. It was a beautiful story the whole way through and while a certain gameplay aspect about half way through made me *really* mad at first, I came around pretty heavily by the end. All I hope is that anyone reading this decides for themselves on the game, instead of hopping on the bandwagon of hate it has generated even before release.

By the end though when the credits rolled, I felt completely different then I did half way through the game. Is it perfect? No. What it is though is a sequel that I am glad we got. I think it does a great job by the end, giving us the closure we needed for this story. For anyone who hates on this game, I see it as one of two things. Either they read the leaks and didn't bother to finish the game, or they just really didn't like it. Once the third act of the game gets going, it was hard to put the controller down. From gameplay to story moments it truly kept me into it right to the end. At first I thought this was a typically revenge story. It's so much more. By the end i started to grow attached to all the characters including Abby. At first I didn't care that much about Abby and her friends. By the end though when Abby ad Ellie's stories finally reconnect with each other, I felt for both characters. The ending I'll admit could have been a bit better but I am still very pleased with how it was handled. Overall I did end up liking my experience with this game. Expand

I felt sick from it, I felt angry I swore not to buy this game, but after some days of that going by and clearing my head I said I owe this game at least to try it because TLoU is my favorite game ever made.

I don't even have to say this but Visually this game is breathtaking, the characters, and environments look the best I've seen in a game. The music is perfect for it as well but I knew it would be the case especially the work of Gustavo Santaolalla.

    Spoilers ahead!

What I was most worried about was of course the story. I honestly didn't believe I could like it but I was surprised and ended up loving it. No matter how much I hate what happens to Joel, by the end of the game I learned to forgive like Ellie did. The game puts you in the shoes of someone you despise bascially from the beginning but I think they did a really good job at telling her story, her reasons for doing what she did, and making me empathize with Abby.

This story shows how obsessions in this case for revenge can make you lose everything and everyone you care about. Abby's story starts from the point when she finished her mission for revenge, and Ellie's starts at starting down that same path. The game makes you do stuff with Ellie that I don't really want to, and you get the feeling she doesn't either, and you watch as she is slowly spiraling and losing her humanity. Meanwhile Abby who basically DID lose most of her humanity is on a story of redemption just like Joel in the first game...

In the end I was hoping BOTH would survive and I was hoping Ellie would not kill Abby and lose her humanity, which thankfully she didn't. This game is about love, and what people are willing to do for it, about obsession, consequences and loss. Both characters lose almost everything in their stories of revenge and redemption. I for one think it's a beautiful game and I hope they make a third one because I want to see a a better or happier ending to Ellie's story.

Among the best graphics and sound on the PS4. The AI might be worse than the last game. I don't know how many times I would be spotted and just duck into some weeds and the human enemy would give up pursuit (on hard difficulty). The theme of "violence begets violence" is far to preachy from a game and developer that gice you no choice but to kill hardea of enemies on the way to the endgame

Expand

Great story! There were so many ups and downs. There were moments when my jaw dropped. I love the looting aspect of the game and the weapon upgrades. The boss fights were definitely challenging and fun. My only discrepancy with game hence 9/10. Was the fact that the Ellie and Abby fight was a little weird due to the fact that we played both sides and had empathy for both characters. I wishGreat story! There were so many ups and downs. Most people aren’t mad about the gameplay though, they’re upset about the story. Without any spoilers all I can say is the Last of Us 2 is an unapologetic game that ask players to be open-minded about its themes and characters. The pacing isn’t as straight forward as the previous title, but the story’s theme and characters are more interesting. It was fun seeing how much the world has changed since the first game. It’ll will make you angry and sad, but that’s kind of the point. Even if you’re not a fan of the story, the gameplay is still awesome. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I usually don't write reviews but there are so many here intentionally tanking it that I feel compelled. It is *very* obvious from many of these that the people writing them didn't play, despite what they say. If you only watch the cutscenes, you're missing half the story.
    First off, the basics:
Gameplay is excellent and much improved from the first, which was good for its time. I replayed both Left Behind and the Remaster after finishing The Last of Us Part II and I can tell you it is VERY much improved. People have unrealistic memories when they say it's the same. Everything is smoother, your companions don't push you out into the open or get in your way while you're trying to make some space to fight. Enemies don't take off sprinting to the ends of the earth like chickens with their heads cut off when you get seen. I mean seriously, go load up the first game, get to a part with 5 or so enemies, let one see you, then duck and use the listen ability. They just go totally **** in a completely nonsensical way.

If I had any complaints, it would be Abby having to craft shivs..like, she's all WLF geared out and trained but doesn't carry a knife? And, as with all Naughty Dog games, I wish the untraversable areas actually looked untraversable, often it's like "Umm, they're going ten blocks around this wall and there are literally a dozen things in the area that could be used to get over that wall...

The environments are beautiful and realistic, the atmosphere is great. Now, to spoilers and story:

    I loved it.
    Here comes the spoilers:

I can see where people were upset with what happened to Joel, I was too. However, if one *really* thinks about what he did, he deserved it. He betrayed the entire world, including Ellie, for his own selfish wants. Really think about it, playing the first one over again after this really brought that home to me. I'd always agreed with what Joel did before, now not at all. She has to live her entire life knowing that she could have saved humanity by dying, but was denied that. I can't even imagine. And the Fireflys, everything they fought for, everything they stood for, totally destroyed in one selfish act by Joel.

Ellie is obviously suffering PTSD from witnessing Joel's death, on top of the certain other psychological problems she has growing up in that world and seeing Riley turn etc etc. Abby has her own PTSD from finding her father dead. Having PTSD myself, I think they did a great job of translating it into the character's actions. The dream sequences, even just Abby's trips down the hall in her mind, are so vital to the story.

Now, I was upset at first when I had to play as Abby and realized it was going to really make me play three full chapters as her. I even thought "how can I finish this now?" But she grew on my quickly. As soon as it shows what exactly her relationship to all this is, it was so easy to understand why she did what she did, although the method was still hardcore.

People are pissed that Ellie doesn't finish Abby off in the end. Well, think about that one from both sides. Ellie killed literally everyone Abby loved, all of her friends, every last one and even her dog and yet she let Ellie live. People are crying that Ellie letting Abby live in the end is unrealistic (it's so isn't) yet they don't have a problem with Abby letting Ellie live, which had to be even harder.

Both of them come around when they accept what happened to their dads (in Ellie's case Joel as the father figure). We see this in the visions; gone are the images of death.

This is a tragic, heavy, story. I can see why people are put off, it tore me up! That ending, I'm like "I NEED TO KNOW". But given the letter from Jessie's mom on the table in the first farm section, I'm certain Dina and JJ went back to Jackson, and Ellie will find them there.

I've also seen the complaint that Abby is trans...um...she isn't. Not that it would mater to me, but bone structure alone shows that Abby was born female. Lev is the trans character mentioned in the leaks...

And honestly, anyone who played the first one, and the Left Behind DLC, and didn't already know Ellie is gay is just dumb. It was obvious lol. And those who say it was "in their faces" have their own issues to work on. Doubt they ever complained about Elena and Nathan's banter in the Uncharted games lol.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The visuals are beautiful it’s almost even impossible to think a PS4 could possibly offer us that kind of graphics. It’s just amazing. The storytelling is kinda overwhelming, not perfect but not completely sucks, being all honest here, we need to see the point of the story with a different point of view, it is not a cliche, sadly people always want the thing the way they prefer. It’s always good to be out of our comfort zone, to be amazed by another type of plot-twist. We are not forced to empathize with the characters (we are forced to play as them, and that’s a complete different thing) we decide to feel or not empathy. Whatever our decision is, the finale wants you to understand that you are not forced to forgive to heal. It matters how much you suffered, but you may choose what you think is better for you and in this case we decided to be different from the antagonist, we lost everything, just like her. There’s no point in succeed in something we will never be proud of. Expand

I think if you just open your mind and see the full scope of the parallels being drawn between characters, the points being made about morality and perspective, and the subtly of the acting as well as the narrative and the environmental story telling can you fully appreciate the game for what it’s trying to do. I'VE WORDED MY COMMENT TO AVOID ANY SPOILERS AS BEST I CAN BUT MADE A NOTE WHERE SPOILERS MAY BE HINTED.

Why do I feel like I'm the only person who LIKES the game? I think it's because I didn't spend 7 years with the characters. I played "The Last of Us" just last month for the first time. I did, several years ago, watch the opening scene with Joel and Sarah in someones Lets Play. But other than that, I had no idea what to expect from the game. I played it, loved it and was ready for part 2. And I was so very happy with how they continued the story.

Maybe I've not played enough video games so I don't have context on how much better the story could have been told. But as a filmmaker and someone who loves watching films that challenge you (if done well) than I appreciate them. I felt that was about Last of Us 2. And when I see people raging about THAT scene with THAT character... I think "That's what the game developers wanted, because you need to be as mad as the characters in the game. You need to have every fiber in your being aware that this post-apocalyptic world **** SUCKS. It's awful to a degree few of us have ever understood or experienced."

I also hear people complaining about the second half and how you start doing something else.... but I LOVED IT. I got the message loud and clear. Violence is awful and sometimes we don't fully appreciate that when we kill millions of nameless people in all these different games. Naughty Dog wants you to think about those people. Really think about them. In fact, live in their shoes and get to know them so intimately that by the time their life is about to be ended, you'll want to fight against that and refuse to let them die.

When someone says "This game is TRASH!" all I hear is someone upset about what happened to their character... and yeah, both you and your character are furious with what happened, I think that's great that a game could have such an affect.

THIS PARAGRAPH IS BORDERLINE SPOILER: We all loved Joel. That's why he was the ONLY character who THAT could have happened to, to be what pushes Elie on her journey. And more importantly what pushes the PLAYER to take control of Ellie and find that revenge. And conversely, I thought the game did a fantastic job explaining why Abby did what SHE did and why she shouldn't be seen as strictly a villain. Yes , Naughty Dog wanted to compare Abby and Ellie and actually I thought they did that well too. But it was also just about reminding us that they are all people, including Abby. Not cartoon cutout bad people. Sure it's a little weird how we're introduced to Abby but soon enough I sure understood her and FELT for her because of how Naughty Dog made me interact with her. /BORDERLINE SPOILER END

That's the bottom line for me, if media wants to tell me a story about shock, sadness, anger, revenge, and wants me to feel what the characters are feeling, then the media needs to make me equally as upset as the characters I'm watching/reading/listening to. This game does that in spades. It's a game that takes place in a **** world, and we can't just look at it from the outside. We can't think "At least I can respawn! I can open up a save and so something different, and it'll be like nothing ever happened!" No, things in the world of Last of Us are sudden, shocking, horrific, unfair... and I don't think it's enough to base that on some unknown character or whatever other method people use. We need to be suddenly shocked, horrified and feel like it was unfair. That's the only way to get the players to feel the way they NEED to feel for a game like this.

And I do hope... even feel like many of these reviewers who are so negative will come around after some more thought.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I think this was a decent game. Personally way too long. Every time I thought I had finished it kept going.

People complaining about Joel being killed early I feel have a reason to but also not to.
In the beginning, my only goal was to kill Abby and make her feel the pain that a lot of us would have had.
I think the second half of the game does put Abby's revenge in perspective but I don't know if it needed to be literally another game. If it was potentially dabbled in here or there or even the opening cutscene started with younger Abby talking to her father who you learn is the doctor in Ellie's operation room. That would have set the story up a bit differently.

I want to know more about Scars. Lev and Yara were great characters. I really grew to like Lev and his struggles and his inability to comprehend anything outside of the cult/religion that he has grown up in.

Ending was good, it's not a happy ending for anyone involved.
Tommy think's Ellie is a little **** for not wanting to go find Abby - and he's potentially splitting up with Maria.
Abby and Lev were almost killed by that group of harvesters? And pretty much **** even before Ellie tried to kill her.
Dina has lost her partner to revenge and has packed up and left. And .... as far as I'm aware not even left a note for Ellie.
And Ellie is alone again in the world. Joel's gone. Jesse's gone. Dina's Gone. Tommy's gone.

I think that's good. Not every game has to be a happy ending. I don't think that is what The Last of Us needs to be. So I did enjoy that.

If anything, the game could have been tightened up. Even by 5% or something, I believe that would have really helped with the pacing.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I found this game to be cinematic, powerful, enjoyable and extremely graphic. The only reason I am even writing a review is because there are so many bad reviews for this game with statements like "marxist" or "SJW's ruined this game." Tons of reviews out within hours of the games release. I played this whole game blind (I didn't read any of the leaks/ no spoilers) and finished the whole game prior to review. 26 hours. The story is gritty, it breaks your hear in several places. It shows graphic violence and very adult situations. It was tough to watch in couple places but so very worth it. The game play is good and the enemy AI decently well done. The sound and music isn't overdone and it fits well into the mood of the game. Graphics are phenomenal and in some of the take downs its like you can feel emotion from someone who is being killed in front of your eyes. Some scenes are flat brutal. Joel's death and the final battle between an emaciated Abby and a near mortally wounded Ellie is pretty rough. Not a game for the faint of heart. I will say this if i could i would give it a 9.5 just because i found it to be a very easy game. On the normal setting it felt more like easy and if i could restart my play through at hard I would. If you consider yourself a "good" gamer play on hard.

Finally to see people so upset about someones sexuality is simply sad. Don't let close-minded people tell you this is a bad game just because it offends their sensitive nature. If you played the first last of us then play this one. Give it a chance it is truly a very very good game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I thought this story was masterfully crafted. I find that the newly created animation, the ability to throw objects to stun them temporarily to disarm characters is a very welcoming addition to the gameplay and graphics. As well as now Zombies will attack each other given the right circumstance, it's just such an endless amount of possibilities that you can do because of this new engine.

When i first heard about the leak of the game that was so beloved to many, I wanted to watch and see the spoilers. Then I slowly started seeing youtubers hating on the game, and then saying that "Naughtydog is in trouble" or "Naughty Dog is bad" or just anything negative to say about this incredible team. That's when I decided to experience the story for myself without any spoilers, so that I will give the game a chance without any influence from any external sources.

Then I started playing the game. At times, I have the marvel at the incredible graphics they were able to achieve on the playstation 4, and the level of detail is unriviled, including PC titles cranked to the max. I mean, watching the physics of the backpack bounce around is just an attention to detail that I have not yet seen before. The foiliage moving around the character is still yet unriviled in any game yet... But on to the story, which in my opinion, is masterfully crafted. It made me feel so many different emotions, throughout the game, and made it seem that this revenge cycle only gets people killed. Granted, people play games to take them out of real life, but I feel like the approach to revenge is so realistic, people hate it. The problem is that they're hell bent on what's black and white, that they don't show enough empathy to see what they've been through. In the end, who is right and who is wrong? The people who follow through on their revenge is wrong, and they are severly punished for it. The people who are able to let go of all this rage is able to grow as a person. I think it's not your typical hollywood story where there is a clear indication of who is good, and who is bad. But this game has me wrecked at the end, making me feel the same feelings at the end of the first game: I don't want to kill this doctor but I have to save Ellie. ironic how you're doing the same thing with Abby towards the end, but it ends in a much happier note.

I personally think Ellie is the villian in this game because she did not help anyone but herself. At least Abby aided her friends and the 2 Seraphite kids. Ellie was just hyper focused on revenge.

I think people couldn't get over their hatred for Abby, and they powered through the game hating to play the character they hate, so everything that she did that was good, was already unsavable. But at least you get to make that choice yourself, whether or not what she has done is a good deed. The story of this game is so complex, I think the reward that Naughty Dog was waiting for did not pay off. It is so advanced, and we, as gamers, are not mature enough to see things from different perspectives. I think Naughty Dog could've just made "The Last of Us Part 2" soley focusing on Ellie and her revenge, and made another game called "The Last of Us Part 2 - The Lost Chapter" talking about Abby, but by then, if people see an Add on, they may be turned off to it, or forget what Abby did, and could not tie the stories together. But to me, this was a masterpiece in just showing that it's never black or white.

Going back to some backlash about "Imagine John Wick never being able to revenge the dog". Well imagine if that Dog killed your only child.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game plot walks you out of the comfy zone and offers you to a different perspective to look at love and killing in the apocalypse. Part 1 was about killing to protect what you loved whereas Part 2 is about ending the cycle of hatred and letting it go! Even as you play Ellie throughout the game, you will start to question what you have done. It is definitely heartbroken when seeing the two fight, who have lost nearly all they have in the seek of vengeance. To a large extent, Abby is an another self of Ellie and Lev to Abby is what Ellie to Joel. The two girls have some much more in common. I like and pity both of them for their fate. Overall, I would say it is a risky try for Naughty dog but definitely worthwhile for the game community and we need it!
Not even mention its game-play experience. More cooperative, smart, yet brutal AI enemies, more diverse enemy types and more weapon and crafting options just drive this game to a whole new level.
The game will be rated differently depending how you expect this game to be. If you decided to treat it as a thought-provoking literature and taste it nice and elegantly, you won't be disappointed.

Sin duda el juego es un muy buen juego, una historia increíble y si fuera por mi opinión el juego debe terminar tal cual como esta y no alargarlo, eso podría matar la trama del juego Expand

Honestly, I LOVED the story. It really hit me and I've been pondering it all week. It was complex and made me feel connected with the protagonists as every person in the game had valid justifications for their actions. The bad guy vs good guy vibe was blurred and I'm really happy with how the story ended. It was thoughtful and it felt right. The story was literally the best part of theHonestly, I LOVED the story. The story was great. The animation was mind-blowing. The acting was just incredible. The outdoor environment was absolutely beautiful. The cinematics were fantastic.

Cons: Sneaking around the enemies and looting houses seemed too repetitive without as much variety as I would have liked. I appreciated how there was more racial diversity with the zombies... but it seemed like they all bought the same generic shirt at Target. lol There wasn't too much variance in body type either. What if you had an OP zombie in a wheelchair or chubby ladies and some chubby guys? Add some personality you know?

Switching my weapons was too slow and resulted in frustration, especially when in a life or death situation. I felt like accessing my inventory was an unnecessary frustration.

But seriously... I enjoyed this game. It was great. And I'm excited to see more people speak up once they've completed the story. I definitely recommend it 100%

It's definitely on my Top 10 list.

Finished the game this weekend. A masterpiece! I really don't get the hate for the game. I think most people hating the game didn't even play the game. This game is a rollercoaster of emotions, drama, action, psychologic madness... I hope ND keeps making these games! Thanks ND...

I find the game very impressive , it has it's own plot holes and cliche's but totally it's really a good game. From it's unique narrative ( depends on how you understand the message of the story) 8/10 . The newly added cameplay mechanics and it's combat fluidity 9/10. Soundtrack and sound design is 10/10. Finally the astonishing graphics, every detail of these game is a 10/10 no doubt.

It has just gained some kind of mythical status which is causing people to hate everything that's not just a continuation of that. Well, enough about that...

This game is an emotional journey that will challenge you to reconsider your thoughts and feelings throughout the game. The story is on par with part 1 with some interesting twists. Graphically, this game is amazing. The environment and all the details are breathtaking. It's actually kind of a bummer this game wasn't created with the PS5 in mind, as I would've loved to have seen how that would look.

Gameplay-wise, it's solid. If you liked the gameplay in part 1, you'll like the gameplay in part 2. The same mechanics are there, with some extras. It's smooth, but I did find myself searching for the right buttons when I was shooting several people and my gun was empty, for example. Might just be me, but I'd have preferred to switch to the next gun automatically. Also, some parts of the game were stretched a bit and made me think "not again please" (I had the same with part 1 and basically all Uncharted games).

All in all, this game is really solid and will leave you thinking for a while. Would definitely recommend.

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
