    Last of us 2 is the game am waiting for 7 years & the wait is worth for the masterpiece. I finished this game in 30hrs, so many irregular heartbeats in the intense game sessions.spoilers didn't affect my gaming session.

    No es el mejor videojuego que existe pero es una gran historia y un gran recurso de reflexión acerca de todo el odio que está pasando por el mundo y creo que es un juego que todo mundo debería de jugar por lo menos una vez en la vida. Gráficamente es lo mejor que existe en esta generación, mecánicamente no hay nada innovador pero si perfecciona lo que ya existía del primer juego y lo llevaNo es el mejor videojuego que existe pero es una gran historia y un gran recurso de reflexión acerca de todo el odio que está pasando por el mundo y creo que es un juego que todo mundo debería de jugar por lo menos una vez en la vida.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A game that isn't worth the hate.

    The story seems to get flamed so I'm starting with that and why its 3/4 of my review. So lets go.

    For about 10-13 hours you play as Ellie (depends on how long you loot and explore the city). As you play as Ellie you see how she is consumed with getting revenge on Abby for killing Joel. However, the more you play you see how consumed she really is, and how far she takes it to kill Abby. During the story she loses friends, family, and fingers to get her. The more you play, it gets you thinking, is the revenge for Joel worth it? Many fans would say yes. However, I took a step back to see if it is actually worth doing so. As Ellie, you kill many people as revenge for Joel. However, there're times when you question it, such as she kills a pregnant women (though she didn't know she was) and when she threatens to kill a child (Lev). The longer you play, the more you question if Ellie's actions are Justified. If you believe so then wouldn't by the same logic Abby's actions are Justified for killing Joel??? I mean Abby isn't really the evil one in this story, Ellie is. Before you hate me for saying so, Abby doesn't kill anyone besides Joel. She only wanted Joel no one else, that is why she sparred Ellie and Tommy. However, Ellie kills almost everyone that is friends with Abby. She kills her ex, hers ex's pregnant gf, and more that took part at Joel's death but didn't kill him. They also wanted Justice for Joel killing their friends, but did they deserve to die? That's for you to decide. But what helps your decision is that you play as the "bad guys".

    After playing as Ellie, you reset the clock and play as Abby for about 10 hours. You see her complicated story, the friends that took place at Joel's death and gives them the reason they where there. The women that was pregnant? She didn't want to part take, but only went for the safety of the people (she is the medic). As Abby, if you allow yourself to open up to her character and gave her a chance, you'll most likely ending up caring for her. Once you begun playing as a character for about 10 hours, you begun to understand her, her motives, her thought process of the world. You start to care for her and her complicated story. You see as she changes through out the story, and at the end of the game, I actually didn't want to kill her, she was basically Joel at that point because of how much you played as her. At the end of Abby's story, Abby kills Ellie's friend Jesse and beats up Ellie and her GF Dina. She was going to kill Dina until Lev says her name, where Abby then AGAIN spares Ellie and Dina.

    After playing as Abby their is a time jump of a year or so. Ellie seems to have given up on Abby and his living happily with her GF Dina and her child JJ. However, she begins to have PTSD of Joel's death. Including that Tommy comes back and tells Ellie where Abby might be somewhere is California. At first Ellie decides no, but then at night she decides to leave her family and goes on the search for Abby. Her consume for revenge makes her lose her family. She then fights another gang of people and at the end fights Abby. She forces Abby to fight (which Abby is a shell of her former self because of the people in the gang). She forced Abby to fight by threatening Lev, a child. Again, her revenge threatens a child's life. A fight starts with Ellie winning, however later in the fight, as Ellie starts to drown Abby, Abby bites two of her fingers off. However, Ellie gets back on top of her and continues to try and drown her. She is only stopped by having a brief memory of Joel. Where she realizes that killing Abby wont bring Joel back, and that if she kills Abby, she will be Abby. She realizes it isn't worth anymore, and lets Abby and Lev go.

    At the end she loses friends, her only family she had, and her fingers. Her fingers are important, because through the story she plays the guitar. The guitar symbolizes Ellie's memory of Joel, throughout the story she is constantly remembers him, however at the end, she cant play the guitar due to the loss of her fingers and she stops playing it. She then sets it down, has a small last hopeful memory of Joel, of her telling him she will try and forgive him for saving her in the first game. Then she leaves her empty home, and the memory of Joel, and moves on.

    The story is all about revenge, but not the way you would think of it. You question Ellie's actions and choices. You start to see how hate and revenge consumes her. It is a story that is complicated, but it inst bad. It takes an open mind to understand it all. And once you start to understand it all, you'll enjoy the game so much more.

    Gameplay is the probably the best part. It's fun to loot, discover the secretes of City of Seattle, and combat is smooth. More guns to unlock and upgrade. The Game also looks absolutely beautiful. The world looks polished and realistic, with so much depth to it.

    It is easy to take advantage of just what a milestone this game is. From the environments, to facial animation, to sound design, the list goes on - Naughty Dog has created a masterpiece in the truest sense. It was a pleasure to go on another emotional and perilous journey with Ellie and I look forward to being awestruck again in Naughty Dogs's next work of art!

    Pienso que el juego no lo hizo mal, pero pienso que quizás las historia pudo ser más activa en la mitad del juego, hay partes súper aburridas como cuando tienes que usar a abby y estas con owen en el acuario, en el Gameplay lo mismo que el primero, quizás ahí pudo haber algún cambio para mejorar el juego, todo lo demás impecable.

    Mature stealth game settled in a post apocalyptic world with believable characters carrying a dark and twisted story. It is indeed the second part to it’s predecessor and the continuation of an arc that was on pause for so many years.

    I also waited this game as most of other fans, but cannot agree with all this hate. This game is not like a first part, it is different. Just accept this fact. It has great graphics and gameplay and story which make you feel something. It is not the best, but definitely not a trash. 8/10.

    Pro tip about the last of us part 2. Play through the first one before you start part 2. It's not important on what difficulty you play through it on, it's for the story. Because part 2 start in a way right where part 1 ends. The game itself is really good and damn what an experience, so it's worth all the money. For me this game is not exactly what I was hoping for and wanted, it's better. A whole lot better. This is for me a sequel that's better than the first game and that's rare, really rare. So by all means, I urge you fellow gamers to support Naughty Dog and bye the game. I can almost guarantee to that you will not be disappointed. At least if you liked the first of The last of us. It was worth it for me.

    I honestly don’t get the hate for the game. It’s visually amazing, gameplay was great so many great moments. I honestly believe people are not understanding what naughty dog were trying to achieve with the story. Do I wish some things were different yes. But in no means was it a bad story.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. HUGE fan of the Last of Us OG. Can't tell you how many times I've played through it. Now... Apparently it's an unpopular opinion but I am an even bigger fan of the Last of Us II... Most of the hugely negative reviews I've read have painted this game as a demon coming to rip your soul out and drag it down to hell. Few of those people have good points. Others? Simply not in touch with their emotions or cannot comprehend situations and accept them for what they are. This game tells an amazing revenge/forgiveness tale that what seems to me would be pretty damn accurate for most humans going through these situations. Joel dying off? IMMENSELY saddening. Not ashamed to say I cried. Naughty Dog did that very daringly KNOWING everyone who has played TLOU is extremely connected to his character. It's a post apocalyptic era for **** sakes! I'm surprised they didn't die before this! Anyways, loved the ability to play as Abby. Made me like her and sympathize with her. Made the fights between Ellie and Abby painful to play. Meaning I didn't want to kill either of them. All other aspects of gameplay... Masterfully done. Sounds... Made me feel like I was there crawling around on the ground, assassinating enemies with Ellie or Abby, running through buildings, shooting, etc. (headphones work best for this game unless you have a kick-ass surround sound system) Story... Dark, eye opening, makes you think, perfect sequel Controls... Way smoother than the OG All in all... This is one of my top 5 favorite games ever made. WELL worth the many playthroughs to come :)… Expand

    This game is absolutely amazing. I've never experienced anything like this. Strong plot, visually stunning, the acting of characters is outstanding, realistic sounds are also impressive. Possible the best game of the current generation of consoles. Thank You Naughty Dog. 10/10.

    This sequel is not as good as its predecessor, however it remains a good game to play. In terms of graphics, nothing to complain about. However the music is not striking compared to the first opus. Besides, I don't even know what they look like because we barely hear them and there are almost none.     I think that The Last of Us Part 2 is one of the best games I have ever played. The story is outstanding.The graphics is super. There is lot better details in this game.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The last of us 2 was one hell of a Rollercoaster. The story was complex and rich and real. It showcases the imperfections or being human and the frailty of life. It’s action packed, emotional, terrifying, hilarious, and most of all it feels real. There are things and characters you love and ones you hate. Things you don’t want to happen that happens regardless because we are just watching a story unfold in an interactive way. We don’t get to dictate what happens to the characters in this brutal world, we get the privilege of seeing how they try to get through it. The writing is superb! The graphics are boggling and the game mechanics a delicious improvement on the mechanics of the first game. I really want multiplayer but that’s not important right now because holy biscuits this story.

    No one is a superhero in this world. Even Ellie who is immune, isn’t invulnerable. She can still die, just like anyone else who gets viciously torn apart by a clicker. Dina says it perfectly at the farm "Jesse didn't plan on dying, and neither did Joel". Dying isn't attractive no matter how its portrayed. In most cases, especially in the world of The Last of US, its unexpected and sudden. You survive until you don’t. A surprise bullet while running into the unknown to help a friend when you thought you were somewhere safe. Murdered with a pipe by someone who's life you just saved after softening from 5 years of safety and awkward love and getting old after 25 years in an apocalyptic world that has not been nice on your body.

    Ellie’s journey in this game is powerfully human. From the triumphs to the struggles, the good decisions and the bad, you can understand her perspective. You can’t help but question the lengths you would go to in her situation, even if you know what’ll happen. You may come to the thought that you would choose differently, but you can still get why she does it all.

    Abby… uhg ABBY. I am so conflicted about her. So much darkness, but so much tragedy and growth. Despite our love for the original characters, we can again come to understand Abby’s perspective and choices as the story unfolds. The desperation for her to restore some light in her world hits us, even as we disagree with and despise her actions. Then we come to support her other actions even if we still hate her.

    The supporting characters all around are so GOOD. They build the story alongside the main characters while growing and failing in their own ways with their own stories. They aren’t just fillers, they are a part of the world and the story being told. Even the npc’s you fight and kill throughout help tell the story with their own characters.

    The ending of it all fit, but I think it could have been better...maybe. It was a good ending, but it still felt like there could have been more. The flashback of seeing a peaceful Joel after only being able to see him in his brutal death shocked Ellie and I think fulfilled her goal. When she left the farm, she told Dina she couldn't get him out of her head, couldn't stop thinking about it all. She had to end it the only way she could think to move on. Whether it be from seeing the state of Abby and Lev after enduring who knows what as some form of punishment, not wanting to end up like Tommy, feeling empowered that she had overcome Abby and "won", or some other factor or combination, Ellie found some peace in that moment. At least enough to let it go, and return to her family. That said, I think what could have made it stronger and been a good specific trigger point was if Lev had begged Ellie to stop like Ellie had begged Abby. That combined with all the other factors prompting Ellie would have, I think, given stronger indication of growth and offered a release of turmoil. It would change things though, it would be a prompt as opposed to a natural occurrence which can feel stronger but does feel more… scripted. I can't say that its inherently better either way, but I can say I love this game regardless.

    You can't please everyone, especially with such a heavy game with real emotions that is beloved by many for good reason. Still, 10 years of dedication created a fantastic game to tell an amazing story that provokes thought and emotion thats not always pleasant. The confusing, convoluted reality that is the cycle of violence is laid bare with no room to hide from it. The Last of Us was never a happy story, it’s always been a good story.    … Expand

    Graphics, story telling, details, gameplay. Naughty Dog have outdone themselves again!

    The only reason I can see people giving the game a 1 star, is because of the death of Joel. But they don't see that having him killed in such a brutal manner is what pulls you into the game further.

    I usually try to sneak around as many enemies as possible, but for Part 2 I wanted to shoot, stab, burn and beat every Wolf I came across to death until I finally got to Abby!

    ... Then the game flips you on your head, and makes you play as her... At first I didn't like it, but as you progress you start to understand Abby and almost begin to want her to win over Ellie!
    Thats only possible through the story telling, and this game has mastered it.

    This game is amazing, great story, wonderfully fantastic gameplay that is so addicting and fun and i just can’t get enough up of it. It introduces so many new elements to the gameplay and is so graphically beautiful and the story is written so well.

    I haven’t play this game yet, i have seen only some gameplay and several reviews. I think that this game doesn’t deserve all this bad votes. For all the content that guarantees is a 7/10 minimum, also if you hate the story.
    I put this 10 only to compensate all this nonsense vote of this salty people that have seen some leaks to judge with 0 a 25 hour game... the people like only to    I haven’t play this game yet, i have seen only some gameplay and several reviews.     Naughty dog didn't chose an easy path, to please the player, but never in a game before i loved to disagree with what I was doing with my character, but I was driven by a story, like Moby Dick somehow, and not with the feelings of the game giving fake choices.
    They succeed what Walking Dead series tried to (last seasons at least), making disturbed characters that you can relate to, empathize to, never characters animation felt so alive, with great acting. Even Seattle has a story, visually.
    If the game isn't about Joël that much, TLOU 1 was more about Ellie at the end of the day (remember that we skipped 20 years of Joël's life). And now we face collateral damages her life (saved) engendered, literally in the skin of protagonists, which might be disturbing, but also exciting.
    It definitively not deserve a **** note because you wanted a story you expected .
    Now about the gameplay, to make short, the violence makes it so reel, it almost hurt when you get shot, I found it more immersive than many FPS. I'd wish a better menu though, Days gone was more intuitive with weapons. But hey, i didn't give a 10 :)
    And visually, it's stunning.
    A must have, if you are not bother to feel uncomfortable by the experience.

    Gameplay wise it added some interesting mechanics which allow stealth to be a more viable option, however the loot and shoot method still works a charm.     In the case of the infected, the way the different enemy types worked together was awesome, something that last of us 1 was missing.
    The introduction of different factions gave the human AI a breath of fresh air,with different factions having a different amount of aggression and tactics.

    Visually the game looks amazing, there is no arguing that, another Naughty Dog masterpiece.

    The music even during gameplay fits every scene perfectly, from darks sewers and apartments to populated streets, the music is ace.
    Love the little guitar set pieces during gameplay too.

    From a story perspective, Naughty Dog built another interesting world, that I thoroughly wanted to explore.
    While many players are not fans of a particular part in the story, this series it not 'happily ever after World', but one of suffering and growth and I think part 2 develops on this in a interesting way.

    Overall I really liked the way the story progresses and while I do have some questions about certain characters development, the overall cohesion of the characters works well.

    Greatest game ever!! I feel sorry that people didn’t understand the meaning of the ending or the story line in general. That’s how life works and especially in survival environment. Good job “Naughty Dog” for being true to yourselves. You are a great example for game company to follow.

I believe The Last Of Us Part II to be an amazing game , not just due to gameplay, which has been improved since the first game, but story-wise as well. Many people are upset about Joel's death, and the fact that ten hours is spent playing as Abby, but I believe this adds character growth, and shows that the game will not be pulling it's punches. It tells a dark story, set in a dark time, and shows that not everyone can have the happy ending they deserve. In terms of gameplay, imagine the first game, with more involved melee combat(being able to dodge, for example) and more crafting recipes available. The games stays fresh when switching characters, due to different weapons, different allies, different character abilities, and different melee combat. The difficulty settings allo each person to make the game's difficulty to their taste, allowing AI to be smarter or dumber, resource availability, player damage received and dealt, even the friendly AI can be modified to be more aggressive or passive. There are afew minor visual bugs I encountered, but they were easily fixed, but that is the only fault I encountered, and why I rate this game a 9.8 out of 10.… Expand

Even though I’ve marked it accordingly, there are spoilers ahead but I WILL NOT spoil the end. Still, proceed at your own caution. The Last of Us Part II is one of the greatest games of this generation and this morning’s news of it being the best selling PS4 exclusive game ever prove that. The main story has a roller coaster of affects. Abby as a playable character that you have to use for 10 hours was probably not the best option Naughty Dog could’ve taken and especially when you have to fight Ellie as Abby in the concluding moments was a bad part of the story. Other parts of the story were great like the parts where you get swarmed by runners as Abby very early in the game and when you go on the adventure to the aquarium are really fun and enjoyable to play. The gameplay is also great. You now get different books that unlock different upgrade paths to upgrade Ellie and Abby. You also collect collectables throughout the story to create a collection. All in all, the newly designed gameplay mechanics work well with this game. My last point is graphics. They are phenomenal. People used to go crazy about RDR2 graphics but this game almost feels like Ellie and other characters are real people and not animated. The scenery is truly breathtaking. From the incredible snowy mountains, to flooded and decaying buildings with the vines growing throughout, this game looks like real life. I can only imagine what a remastered version is going to be like. In summary, Part 2 is a great sequel to the first, it deepens understandings of characters through amazing graphics. Even though the story gets a little dicey at times, the rest makes up for it. I truly recommend you to play this.… Expand

I went into this game open minded after the leaks which I surprisingly avoided and I have to say I absolutely love this game it’s not just a story about revenge it’s way more than that it gives you perspective, it shows you what this world is actually like which is dark and cruel, a lot of people are saying well this character deserved better and I think that for the people that are saying that maybe this genre just isn’t for you because in a world like this it doesn’t matter who you are or if your a good or bad person none of that determines how your last breath will come and that’s what makes this so fascinating EVERYTHING feels so real, especially with the great facial animations and just overall acting in this game is phenomenal, another thing that I love about this game just like the first is Ellie, this game shows you that just because she’s gotten older doesn’t mean she all of a sudden likes to kill, no. She has a hard time with it she’s in pain and well disgusted at the thing she’s doing just to get to this one person and what I love so much about the ending is that by the end she realizes this, she realizes that this path she took didn’t make things better it made things for her so so much worse and you see some of her humanity return to her by the decision she makes in the end and I for one really loved that, there’s a new character in this game which I’m sure everyone knows now Abby, and while I’m neutral on how I feel about her I have to say her motivations to do the thing she does at the beginning of the game is absolutely 100% justified in my eyes and that’s all I’ll say on that because I don’t want to go too deep into spoilers. Abby is a **** person and she realizes that and wants to become a better overall person which is why she goes on the journey she goes on in this game, and I have to say while there is so much Abby hate some her sections in this game are absolutely insane especially the hospital and her final section, both really great and just VERY fun to play through, and the graphics in this games are absolutely phenomenal I mean if the PS4 wants to shows it’s full power before next gen this game sucked everything out of this console to do just that and it was amazing, the gameplay again in my opinion was some of the most satisfying and just overall fun time I’ve ever had playing a game, so yea by the end of it I love this game so much I’ve gone through it twice and enjoyed the hell out of it both times I’d recommend this game to anyone just for the full on insane experience and emotional rollercoaster this game puts you through, 10/10 for me.… Expand

Me parece que este juego está recibiendo demasiadas críticas por diversos motivos, pero bajo mi punto de vista, la gente solo está valorando la historia y los sucesos que se encuentran en ella. Por ejemplo, hubo gente que no le gustó que se pudiese manejar a Abby y a otra gente no le pareció mal esto es por el cariño que todos le teníamos a Joel. Pero a pesar de todo, mi opinión sobre este maravilloso juego es un 9 por los motivos que detallaré a continuación: - Los gráficos son espectaculares y no he visto otro juego con tan buenos gráficos (ya se que hay juegos que tiene muy buenos gráficos pero este también los tiene) en ese aspecto le daría un 10
    - En cuanto a la historia, yo creo que no deberían de haber matado a Joel, si le querían haber hecho daño, podrían haberlo raptado a el y a Dina por ejemplo y poder haber jugado con Ellie para ver sus historias desde esos dos puntos de vista, pero haber matado a Joel y sobretodo al principio no me pareció la mejor decisión ya que es demasiado impactante para el jugador. En cuanto a las historia le pongo un 8 ya que las intenciones eran buenas a mi parecer.
    - En cuanto a los sentimientos que te produce el juego pueden llegar a ser muy confusos, desde que tengas esa sed de venganza que tiene Ellie tras la muerte de Joel, hasta sentir que Abby solo estaba intentando defenderse en mundo destruido de The Last Of Us, hasta ver que Ellie solo quiere matar a Abby debido a que está cegada por la venganza. Hay muchos tipos de sentimientos que te puede causar este juego, puede que te sientas identificado solo con Ellie, solo con Abby, o con las dos y sientas esa confusión de no saber que es lo correcto y que no lo es. Eso concretamente me pasó a mi con este juego, hasta que llegas a la conclusión de que en The Last Of Us es un mundo en el que nadie es bueno ni nadie es malo, solo intentan sobrevivir con lo que cada uno tiene. Ya que este juego se basa prácticamente en venganza y estar en ese ambiente de angustia por la muerte de seres queridos, en cuento a los sentimientos que transmite este juego le pongo un 9.

    Estos 3 puntos son los que me han llevado a tomar la decisión de poner un 9 de nota a este juego. Mucha gente no estará de acuerdo conmigo en las decisiones ya que se pueden sacar muchas conclusiones de este juego, a si que pueden opinar lo que quieran. This game has made a lot of bold choices that angered a mass majority of The Last of Us fans, I did my absolute best to be as open minded as possible and upon finishing the game I didn't know how to feel, and as a disclaimer I'll say that I'm a HUGE fan of stories focusing on misery and tragedy. I played the first game on release and have held it to a masterpiece level, I came into the sequel with a handful of spoilers and was infuriated with some of the choices made. Though as I played, I couldn't hide my dread for the things I knew were to come.

    Now I must say, I became VERY invested as I played and it's one of the only games in the current generation I didn't have to force myself to finish. I hated Abby to begin with but her reasons became more clear as I progressed, although I couldn't forgive her for killing Joel and was very aggravated when playing as her against Ellie. But I did feel pretty bad for Abby after finding her tortured and hanging on the pillar. Her escaping pissed me right off, but as I thought how she suffered worse than death, Although I wanted Ellie to kill her, I understood why she left.

    Ellie had become very unlikable throughout this game. It was reasonable and believable to her character and situation but how she treated Joel and Tommy seemed very uncalled for. Her decisions to leave Abby alive, brake the promise to Tommy and not tell him she changed her mind, and close out Joel after he came clean and kept his patience. I don't know if I rooted for her because of the history of the first game or because she was the less unpleasant of the two characters. But i was happy she survived and curious where it goes from here.

    I wanted more emotion with the final scene between Joel and Ellie, as I feel the final encounter left a lot to be desired but still had me pretty chocked up how Joel cried and couldn't get out what he wanted to say. A few things lost my emotion, namely how large Abby was and Lev going through a gender transition, more power to them, but I feel during an apocalypse it doesn't seem like something you'd see. a little nit picking but it did cross my mind.

    Overall I didn't want the story to follow what it did, but I was as open minded as I could be and ended up enjoying the game, not as much as the first, but enjoyed it non the less and followed my funny little fetish of a tragic story. You should play it if you were a fan of the first game, but do your best to go in without any hate towards it and don't let all the bad reviews deter you. If you've already played it try not to let the hate train effect your opinion, a lot of things I disliked about this game, but there's not denying it was good. The gameplay mechanics are a polished version of the first game, giving immediate familiarity, but with an additional layer that makes for a more rewarding experience.

    I've been a fan of linear, story driven games since I can remember. I played TLOU (part 1) about 12 months ago, and it did a damn great job at showing me how invested a game can get you in it's story and characters; But nothing could have prepared me for Part II. Naughty Dog clearly knew that this franchise has a strong emotional grip on it's players, and they utilised that to presentI've been a fan of linear, story driven games since I can remember. I played TLOU (part 1) about 12 months ago, and it did a damn great job at showing me how invested a game can get you in it's story and characters; But nothing could have prepared me for Part II. Naughty Dog clearly knew that this franchise has a strong emotional grip on it's players, and they utilised that to present something so damn refreshing, unique and emotional. I have never experienced such a gripping, emotional journey in a videogame. You can enter this game and let one event ruin your entire experience (an event I personally believed to be totally in line with the tone of the series), or instead, you can accept the direction, and let it take you on this challenging journey. The ups and downs felt so genuine – the writing never feels contrived, and the characters just feel real.

    Sure, it has it's issues as well, which for me sit mostly with occasional gameplay and A.I. hiccups. For example, support character A.I. sometimes gets in the way, or becomes a pain to navigate with. This is something you never dealt with in God of War, for example. Occasionally the character you're playing can feel rigid in its motions, especially when transitioning between different walking surfaces. The same can be said for engaging with the interact prompt when picking things up etc... sometimes you find yourself shuffling around for a few seconds until the damn Triangle button prompt lets you activate it. Also, the interaction with your weapons/crafting menu's can be a bit too step-by-step driven – an example might be when selecting a weapon, and then selecting to reload quickly after – you have to wait for your character's weapon accessing animation to completely finish before you can instruct to reload; It would have been nice to have some more fluidity in this process, and allow speedier instructions, or at least instructions that are tacked on in that instance to play after the character finishes the animation. In the grand scheme of it, though, these things are very quickly overlooked, but do drop the gameplay score a bit as it pulls you out of the game.

    One thing I would like to give an extra mention to, is the audio design. I played this with Extreme Dynamic Range enabled, under Studio Reference. This was on a 2.1 KEF system. This was nothing short of exceptional. The gunshots were jarring, the whistles of the Seraphites in the distance were clear and incredibly well placed, the ambience of the cut-scenes pulled you in. The game has a dark, disorienting bass-driven tone in the darkest scenes of the game, which feels incredible. Each kill felt horrific and impactful, and each major cutscene had such a strong soundstage and tonal mood, that I was genuinely impressed.

    I never review games – honestly, I generally just don't really care. I play a game, I finish it, it was good, sure, it was bad, whatever. This game deserves a genuine review, though. I can't believe how anyone can play this from start to finish and not feel that the emotional cues were expertly placed. I'm a 30 year old dude and it even had me tearing up at the end... i'm so damn impressed. The story didn't go how you wanted it to, and for that I am incredibly glad, because I want to be taken on a unique path.

    For me, this is a solid 9.5/10, which I'm rounding to 10 for Metacritic.

One of the most captivating games I have ever played. I am perplexed at the negativity this game gets, and essentially boils down to people rating it bad because it didn't go that way. The game is about death, loss, and consequence. If you aren't ready to accept that, and that your favourite character is not and unstoppable superhero, then don't play the game.     Pretty good game storytelling is awesome.Game mechanics just awesome.Much better than first game .For my opinion ending is better than first game.Loved how Ellie develeoped herself in game.

Everyone was hoping for a new adventure of Joel and Elly. They could have made an Part 2, just Like the First one, everyone is happy. But this is not was everybody wanted. This is not the typical Mainstream sequel. U really need to be Openminded about this Game, U need to get involved with it.
    In the middle of the game, i really wanted to Stop to play at a certain Point. I used to hate the decision they made. But i paused for a day. Let everything sink in. And kept playing.
    And they did a great job, giving a feeling about what consequences it Made for them. When U Walk Into the Aquarium at the end of the Seconds third and see what happend, U really feel Bad for her too. This is a Story about revenge, but more likely about forgiveness like the Sequence with Joel at the end pointed out.
    BUT. U need to let any expectations U had go. U need to Play this without Anger about what happened. A Bit, yea she did horrible things, but in the end she lost more than Ellie. U need to hate her to feel the Game, but U need to forgive her and Play her Plot Like its Ellies.

    And that is what the Game does great for me. U Play that hatred character but U kinda going to understand. The Story would worked Others way around too. For me, this is an emotional rollercoaster, i often didnt knew what the **** to think over what happend. And in the end, If u cant let your hatred go, you loose way more than u already had.

    Technically flawless. This Game is the Jewel of this console Generation. Perfect graphics, great Atmosphere to deliver the right Mood.
    And No damn loading Screens except for the initial Game loading or the super short one when U die. Can someone please appreciate.

    At the beginning of the Seconds third, i would give a 4/10. But they Made Something great. So 9/10.

    And all those narrow minded people giving a 1/10 dont understand what naughty dog wanted to do. Instead of crying about what happened, look forward to whats coming.    … Expand

    This game is a masterpiece and a work of art. The graphics are Beyond anything I’ve seen on the PlayStation 4. The game play is improved But can feel a bit Repetitive at times especially in the QuickTime events. The story they went with although controversial to me pays off in the end the game is certainly dark and at times hard to play in the sense that it is an emotional roller coaster.This game is a masterpiece and a work of art. Too much Abby gameplay ( like way too much) and the developers trying to make you sympathetic towards her but it doesn’t work. All Ellie parts of game was phenomenal but Abby parts really brought it down plus a stupid ending in which Ellie should’ve killed Abby. Let’s hope Abby isn’t a main character in the third one but they are really setting her up to be. :(. Apart from too much Abby it’s a worthy sequel with phenomenal gameplay, graphics and voice acting. I’ll give it a 10 to make up for the people who are giving it a bad score yet never even playing it themselves and just going of the leaks. It’s a 8/10.… Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
