    This is a game about love, hate, revenge and most importantly grief. It left me shell shocked and weeping in my bed at 5 in the morning.

    I started the game as one person and finished as a different one. My heart now bears wounds that I doubt will ever heal.

    "If I ever were to lose you, I'd surely lose myself"

    Despite all the drains, agendas, criticism - it cannot be denied that the developers did a great job, tried on the project, loved this project. They put a soul in creating it. I agree that the plot dipped a little later than the middle of the game, but to be more precise, it was not the plot that dipped, but its narration, it was not so served to the players.     The game is masterful in each and every one of its sections, especially the story and the narrative. I love how brave they have been. It was very easy to please everyone, but they have decided otherwise, and this is their story. I love that so many people hate it. I do not understand people who put 0/10, just because Joel dies and what you did not understand Joel is not the main character of 2 and not even 1. I am sure that they didn't even play the game (in full). Just to tell you don't listen to the Haters. The last of us 1 and 2 are INCREDIBLE games!     If you really meditate on the meaning of that ending, you will understand how excellent it is, not everyone will understand. The ending is not designed for simple revenge, it goes far beyond that.

    The sequel is a masterpiece that succeeds the first in almost every way. The darker, much more realistic human connections and conflicts, even gameplay are all still there. Character cast is even more unique and diverse in honest ways, a tale of rage, redemption, and healing. Best game of the generation. Este jogo chocou tanto as pessoas que amavam o personagem do Joel com a sua morte, que nada além disso ficou visível para alguns jogadores, o que é bastante triste aliás. Cada juego debe ser una experiencia propia, muchos lo critican viendo como lo jugaba alguien mas y repitiendo los mismos comentarios de siempre, es un juego que logra enganchar, un juego diferente, no tendremos los finales felices que todos esperábamos. Estamos en un mundo en el que Joel le quito la oportunidad al mundo de volver a empezar y de sanarse, eso no lo hace un héroe, pero el tenia sus motivos, así como muchas personas tenían razones para matarlo. Estamos en un mundo demasiado dañado, en el que cada uno busca su propia manera de sobrevivir, nadie es el bueno ni el malo, solo hacen necesario para proteger a los suyos, y desde otro punto de vista siempre fuimos los malos.
    Este juego es una experiencia única, tiene escenas muy sentimentales, y una narración ambiental brutal, hace el uso de flash de una manera espectacular en el que nos muestra la evolución de los personajes, y como ese Joel que vimos invencible en la primera parte se fue ablandando y volviendo mas humano, al punto de no querer arriesgarse con Ellie porque no la quería perder, sin embargo tiene demasiada carga encima. Al final es el propio jugador que debe hacer sus propias reflexiones frente a la historia.

    Un des meilleurs jeux auxquels j'ai joué. Histoire géniale, personnages attachants, graphismes magnifiques. Gameplay comme on les aime, entre infiltration, exploration et combats acharnés. Impossible de ne pas verser une larme. Merci naughty dog.

    I have been using Playstation for 25 years and I have reviewed numerous video games.
    The Last of Us Part II is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen on any console and / or PC and it is simply a Masterpiece, anyone who writes that he did not like it should not review or play any video game.

I don't know why people are so dumb, hateful and failing to appreciate when good stuff actually come out (it happens so rarely nowadays) and the depths to which Naughty Dog expands the world, characters and ideas of the Last of Us in Part II is nothing short of special.     1. Plot. I always rate games based on the story first! The Last of Us 2 is a tragedy! The tragedy of two people, blinded by a desire for revenge! In the course of the game, we can see how this desire for revenge burns everything around them like Napalm. Neil perfectly showed that this desire is absolutely empty! So many deaths – and all completely in vain, because in the end, two destinies were outcasts, first of all-for themselves. Passing the game, you as it were live these two destinies! The secondary characters are superbly revealed: pay attention to Owen and Dinah – after all, they were the ones who tried to reach Abby and Ellie, because they had already gone too far. Got through! But at what cost?! Now I am writing this mini-review, and I am dripping with tears, even though I passed the game just yesterday.

    2. Plot. I want to discuss it. I want to ask questions. I want to put myself in the place of the main characters – and what would I do? It got to the point that at tense and key moments, I was beg the characters to leave this bloody campaign, and just accept what was already there. Yes! This is not a game, this is a pure experience. After ending, there were ruins inside me, I was completely depressed and exhausted mentally. Unfortunately, I can't decide to play it again. I don't have the guts to go through it again.
    3. Graphics are excellent, ND tried their best. I didn't notice any drawdowns. To be honest, I didn't pay close attention to the graphics.
    4. Gameplay: great new mechanics, but damn it....none of this matters. Right now, I can't think of anything else but the plot of this experience.
    5. The process keeps in constant tension. Just a little respite to gather supplies. Hide, silently avoid, run headlong, shoot back while driving a car or horse – you do not have to be bored in this regard.
    6. LGBT propaganda. Even before the announcement, there was a lot of negative noise on the Internet about this agenda. I tried to spot any sign of propaganda, and...I never found it. There is love in the game, it can be different, and everyone decides who to be with and sleep with. Personally, this "propaganda" did not affect me in any way. From the word-nothing at all.

    And now for the cons:

    The reaction of the community.
    1. I will not say anything new here. That storm of indignation, rage, hatred is quite expected, and alas - not justified. Players, who wrote negative reviews only in a certain context-could not see the main message.
    2. Yes, love can be different-Ellie's orientation was mentioned in Left Behind, and the fact that she transformed into a full-fledged, albeit complex relationship is quite natural.
    3. No, the world doesn't revolve around Joel: saving Ellie in the first part, he killed entire settlements, sacrificed the future of humanity, and then they came for him. Oh, that's weird, right? Not vital at all, lol. This couldn't have happened in real life, could it?
    4. Abby is transgender? Then I have bad news for you – she is a completely ordinary woman, and in the game she never associated herself with the other sex. Pumped up? How to resist Joel? An experienced smuggler with hundreds of dead bodies to his credit? Of course, she was preparing for this meeting, and throughout the game, we are constantly told about this. Only in the movies, a weak girl becomes a killer machine with military training in 5 minutes. Here, Abby prepared for the full program, because she was driven by a desire for revenge.

    Unfortunately, this game has received a lot of negative reviews. But we've been through this before, and more than once. As one person said, and he was horribly right: the games have grown, the players have not. I sincerely thank Druckmann and the entire team of Naughty Dog for this masterpiece, and I want to wish them creative success!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. No game is perfect (except for Red Dead 2), but this one is pretty good. Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us 1 were better, though. This one kind’a feels like pure torture porn and was a real downer; could have done with some comedic relief if they didn’t kill off all the likable characters just as they started to get interesting. Looking at you, Jesse.

    Overall, pretty good game. Story kept me interested and had me attempting to understand characters’ mindsets and why they were doing the things they were doing. Which, nowadays, is pretty rare. Most games just have a bad guy who is the bad guy and you don’t really have to think about anything else except for how you were going to kill them and how many more fights it would take to get to the next boss fight or cool cutscene. Gameplay was tense and engaging, which is always nice, and it never really got old for me as I was playing on really hard difficulties where I was basically fighting bros with a pair of pampers diapers stuffed inside a bottle of vodka with only a single bullet in my **** starter pistol.

    I know some of the **** that goes down really sucks, boys, but that shouldn’t mean the game is a 0. I’ve played 100+ games on my ps4 (I have pc, xbox 360, one, and switch) alone, and I don’t think I’ve ever played a game that was a zero. Like, c’mon guys, let’s be rational. If an 8 is an 80% or a B in the American education system, then that is what I’m giving this game. I dunno, thought it was fun. Hopefully you can respect my opinion and I’ll respect yours in return. Just wish everybody could get along, I guess. Makes me sad seeing us all divided over this in such a chaotic time. But, yeah, the people that are saying this game is life-altering or that it’s some sort of profound piece of art need to shut up as it’s really cringey. Yeah, I found it to be an interesting dive into the mindsets of two characters parallel to one another as well as the themes of revenge not being worth it in the end. And, yes, I did find that it tied in with the real world and connected to me on a personal level, as I think everyone has wanted to get back at someone for something but then realized it would be futile on the end. So, yeah, it gave me a new perspective on the idea of revenge, but it’s not like it’s some life-altering piece of art, man. This is a game where you punch mushroom people in the face, it’s not that deep.

    AMAZING game!

    The graphics and sound design are from another world, the atmosphere ranges from sweet to tense, very fluid, diverse and balanced game play. The story, although divisive, is well written, with many dialogues and lore scattered through the game play, that helps the natural development of the world and the game characters.

    One of the bests games on the PS4, no doubts about it.

    Last night I just wrapped up The Last of Us 2 after my roughly 25 hour run. This game is difficult to stomach sometimes. It's really distressingly sad, it's unforgiving, and it forces you to think about things that you don't want to think about. But that's what makes it special.

    When I saw the trailers for the game, I imagined a simple and sweet revenge story. Ellie and Joel going across the county to kill someone who had killed someone they loved. That isn't what this game is, and it's a better game for not just being that. My simple fan-fiction version of the narrative is easy to stomach, it's black and white and it doesn't have any depth to it.

    The Last of Us 2 does the opposite. Instead of offering an easy to digest revenge fantasy, it forces you to see a bigger picture from different perspectives. It forces you, the player, to do things as characters in the game that are reprehensible, and with knowledge that we have but the characters don't, it can be incredibly hard to stomach. When the credits finally rolled on the ending of the game, I spent hours thinking about what had happened over the course of the story. I don't know if I've ever played a game that made me think as much as this did.

    Is it a happy, easy to digest narrative that everyone will enjoy? No, it's definitely not. But it's a deep, thought provoking tale about loss, anger, revenge and forgiveness. It's a story, like the first game, about characters making the wrong choices for love and not knowing if they can live with the consequences. Yes, I understand why so many people didn't enjoy this game. It forces you to live in the shoes of people who have been wronged, and to understand them. It forces you to question the decisions that characters you love have made. It forces you to think. And not everyone wants to do that.    … Expand

The story was well written, but most people are posting bad reviews by not playing it themselves and listening to other people's opinions. Many people dont like the story because they probably played this game after watching a disney movie and expect a happy ending but there are no heroes in this game. Am glad Naughty Dog made this game realistic and not some fairy tale. Neil Druckman also said to keep an open mind while playing. Но вот в чем-чем, а в геймплейной части игра стала на голову выше, да, основа у него одна, и я не понимаю людей, которые ругают эту игру за устаревший геймплей, а какой геймплей вы хотите, это тот же The Last of Us, который многим понравился, из-за своего геймплея (да, я знаю, что там не переднем плане все-же история). В сиквеле появился "вертикальный" геймплей, взятый по большей части из Uncharted, где он весьма неплох, теперь можно заползать под некоторые объекты, добавили траву разной высоты, и эта трава не такая, как, допустим в Asassin's Creed, где враг может вплотную стоять к главному герою, и не замечать его, в TLoU2 тебя спокойно могут заметить в траве с близкого расстояния, а целиться, если противник смотрит в твою сторону - еще опаснее.     Replayed the first game a few weeks before the release and I absolutely loved everything about part 2. Extremely emotionally charging and a worthy successor to the story and the characters, while making some really bold moves from a storytelling perspective which worked amazingly and I haven't experienced in another medium so far.

    Naughty Dog's best game so far.

    Because ellie’s feeling isn’t about hate or because abby killed Joel but because she couldn’t get a chance to apologize, ellie isn’t angry at abby but at herself for not giving Joel the value while she was alive and because of that selfishness, which is already present when she didn’t put herself in the shoes of the joel when she discovered the truth, she puts herself to the test by trying to make sense of it all, but on the way she loses everything, her friends die, their chance to have a family is destroyed and the brother of their former "father" was sequelted besides she lost her fingers and can no longer play the guitar, the strongest and most palpable memory she had of joel.

    So when she finds herself threatening to kill a child who was passed out and strangling a person who was malnourished who was tortured for days, she realizes how far she has gone and that is losing her humanity for nothing and most importantly THE DEATH OF ABBY IT WON'T GIVE HER CHANCE TO APOLOGIZE, it won't make Joel come back to life, so she gives up and leaves, it makes perfect sense, the character is humanized like everyone else in the cast, the last of us is a realistic game that deals with people's errors, choices and the consequences of their actions and that no one was right from the very beginning, and that's why the story is fantastic.    … Expand

    As a player who actually played and completed the game on survivor, I managed to avoid any spoilers and reviews of the game. It is so sad to see the review bombs that plague the user section from people that didn't even played or own the game. There's so much blood sweat and tears behind that game , 2 days after I finished it , I still think about it and any game , movie or book that is able to achieve that , I consider it as a masterpiece. Graphics: 10/10 - Best looking PS4 Game so far. This is undeniable and I'm pretty sure most if not all will agree. The detail of this game is amazing. Sound Music and Voice: 8/10 - They really made the game lean more into Horror. The background sounds are scary when in dark spaces and the silence in some places makes you seem wary of everything. The first game has its horror moments but this game take it up a notch.

    Story: 8/10 - I rate the first game a 9/10. I'm one of the rare people who didn't thought the game's story was a masterpiece but it was good for what they did. The first story was basically an old dude who can't move on from the death of his kid after so many years smuggling a kid to a group. That's it. The main story's focus is literally about Love and the relationship between Ellie and Joel. And they use that in the second game to make you hurt. The Part 2 is a story about revenge and they utilize it well. I'm not gonna touch into too much of the spoilers. But the game has two Protagonist, Ellie (Protagonist) and Abby (Antagonist) both are woman are on a quest for revenge and hate for different yet justifiable reasons. A lot of the hate for this story is with Abby as abby does horrible **** and they let you play as them and make you do this as a player instead of a cinematic experience. They did this add context to what she does and why she does what she did. From a story telling platform this actually makes sense, since I don't think anyone one would have wanted to start 10 plus hours of the game at the start as a Stranger. Instead they give you chunks of her story at a time and chunks of Ellie's story. It's a little weird and to be honest I guess they could have just divided the two. Like an option to Play Ellie's story and Abby's story in the menu or unlocking Abby's story after playing the game. I'm sure this would have made the game a whole lot better for other people out there. For me, personally I don't have a problem with it though. The reason I only have it an 8 is because they did their job. They made us feel hate, violence and horror more than the first game and to be honest I kinda don't wanna feel all of that. The real world is a bit like that and I'm looking for something a little light hearted now. Not saying there isn't light hearted moments in the game, there is and they're one of the best moments in the game but I wish there was more of that. Gameplay: 9/10 - the gameplay is a 100 percent improvement. Basically it's the first game's gameplay with a few tweaks to make it feel more polished and action heavy. There's a Dodge system now that although not game breaking was a good addition specially when engaging with battle with multiple people. The jump mechanic isn't that new in other games but it's certain is for the Last of Us and adds more ways to traverse yourself. There are more items to craft meaning more ways to fight and you can tell the game is more action heavy than the first. Each encounter is like a chess match and you have to careful plan out your tactics or your toast. NPC's actually do some **** now compare to the first game. Talking about the companions here. The game is more open now too and you can explore the ruins of the cities unlike the first game. In the first game you can look around a bit but comparing that to the sequel is just crazy. Of course there are risk very reward choices as exploring this world might mean encountering more problems, infected and savages to fight against but would mean extra items and even some weapons or weapon mods that you would have missed. There are also collectibles too and the card collection thing was actually better than I thought. Disappointed that you can't play with the cards thought.

    Most of the people who hate the game didn't even beat or play the game. Not saying there aren't people who doesn't like the game after playing it but most didn't. There are a lot of people saying they hate the game and won't even play it because of some scenes?? The game got review bomb after only a few hours and it's cleared that they just saw some cutscenes without context and skipped to the ending. Which is pathetic.


    Fun factory: This actually depends on the gamer but if you love the first game you should definitely give this one a try. It has different stroke for different folks ;)    … Expand

But looking back, I can't deny playing this was a great experience. The gameplay is significantly improved and the world immersion is enhanced. Areas are bigger - there's much more to discover and many more (and more types!) of infected and human factions to go all our guerilla warfare on. I'm excited to get going on my second playthrough (skipping the cinematics this time around).

    This game is a lot to digest. Having said that, there's no denying that, as a horror survival game, this is 10/10. Part 2 brought a good balance of Part 1's silliness to its brutality. At times I was chuckling and feeling the warm fuzzies; other times, I was cringing saying out loud "no, no, no...I don't want to do this. Why are you making me do this!?" All the way throughout, you're tip-toeing around corners praying to God a clicker doesn't jump out of the wall or that a sniper doesn't spot you from a distance. Never have I been so triggered by the sound of a whistle.

    Some reviewers seem hung up on the storyline and are forgetting that beggars can't be choosers. At the end of the day, did you really think Joel selfishly sabotaging a world-saving vaccine would go unpunished? How else did you think a sequel would play out? We got so much more than we asked for. Sure, I'm not super happy about the ending...I like closure...and I wish Ellie could still play the guitar with all five fingers on her left hand...but at the end of the day, I can't deny I enjoyed this and would play it again and again.    … Expand

    First and foremost, Joel's death is hard to swallow, but arguing that it doesn't fit in with the character or the world is dead wrong. Joel has spent four years in relative safety, and he is journeying with his more optimistic and trusting brother Tommy when he is killed. He has made a home within a community, he himself has become more trusting, and the world building makes it clear that, while on patrols, there are encounters with other survivors who are given shelter. Joel makes a split decision to trust somebody instead of fighting an entire horde of infected, which is understandable in this world.

    This act of violence serves as the impetus for the rest of the story, which is in my opinion masterfully told. You play as Ellie, but also for a large portion of the game as Joel's murderer. Other reviewers are finding this problematic, but the story itself is truly two parts of a whole. Ellie becomes more withdrawn and distant through the course of her majority playthrough, and your thought is that it's due to her hollowness as a result of her revenge play. But, after you spend time with Abby, the situation becomes more clear. The vengeance has taken a toll on Ellie, to be sure. But she is also starting to empathize with Joel's killer, leaving her conflicted.

    Halfway through playing as Abby, I began to realize that it is absolutely not a stretch for Joel to be such a villain in Abby's mind. This story fits with the world, and the way Ellie reacts to such a situation is absolutely to honor Joel's memory.

    Obviously, i love this game. i understand some of the criticism as well, but i really think this game needs an open mind. Everyone needs to take a step back and approach this piece of art with the right perspective:

    a) Naughty Dog doesn't owe you anything.
    b) This world is, and always has been unforgiving and life hangs by a thread.
    c) There is a very valid opinion that Joel gets what he deserves, particularly from Abby's perspective.
    d) Calling something "bad writing" just because you disagree with a plot point is not only childish, it's just wrong.

    10/10, this game is better than the original and actually enhances the themes and morality present in Part 1. I'll be playing new game + multiple times.    … Expand

That the characters aren't 'developed' or that the creators didn't upgrade the mechanics. You can dislike the ending, but in my opinion; it was very very fitting and true to the characters. I have also played the first game multiple times and am a fan of the series like many others. Many people have expressed their anger, resentment, and disappointment with this game on the internet over the last couple of weeks to days. I feel this frustration comes from the game having had major spoilers Leak weeks prior to launch. Many people got key points of what happens given to them without playing the game. I will admit I was upset when I read some of the leaks, (you almost couldn’t be on the internet if you didn’t want to be spoiled). I tried as hard as I could to not spoil too much and let my experience the first time truly be my own. I think the game truly has to be played in its entirety before you can understand what they were trying to do with the story. If you are halfway through playing and write a review you won’t be near where you would feel by the end. The jumps on time and cinematic flashbacks are key to feeling the way you should and cast light to why characters act the way they do. This story is beautiful, dark, gritty, passionate, expansive, and many other words of emotion all jammed into one. MY BIGGEST TAKE AWAY IS YOU CANNOT JUDGE THIS BOOK BY ITS COVER OR MID PAGES, YOU HAVE TO READ IT IN ITS ENTIRETY! I so far have disagreed with many of the reviews I’ve heard since the release of the game and I stand by my rating of the game.     Realisticly 8/10. I rated it 10 just to equilibrate for the other troll scores.
    Great game overall. I recommended just play it because it depends a lot in how you get hook by the story (and of course you dont want to get spoiled) especialy if you liked the first game.

Story is not as good as the part 1. There are holes, it cannot be denied, but still... I loved to just "sniff walls" just to admire this attention to details. In my opinion, trying to play someone who just killed character from the previous game is something new, but they did it actually wrong.

    Yes, from our perspective Joel was a hero for us, but what did happen in the Salt Lake City, it turned him into antagonist even in me eyes. Even tho, that Ellie was for him like a daughter. In the other hand, mankind killed his real daughter, so maybe he didn't want to save mankind, because that would be mean the death of his second daughter. No one, except us, didn't know about this, so for Abby and the others he was just a monster.As a fan of part 1, in my opinion, killing Joel so fast was wrong. He should die later in the game. Ellie should pursuit to get revenge for killing Dina. "you think I'd let you do this on your own", should be Joel like in trailer. They should get trapped by Abby in the theatre like in original, and there Joel should die, by what he did to her dad. All the rest of the story should go as it is in the game, except ending. Abby should die, by Ellie's hand.
    I know what ND is trying to do with her. I'm almost sure, they want to make her a main character in part3, what is wrong.

    But, why I gave this game 10/10 you ask? it's simple, There is only one rating, and **** else was just too perfect for me to give it just 10/10 rating. I want games to look like that. Even the best story is nothing when game is looking awful    … Expand

    Finished the game twice.
    The story will seem awful if you are a fan of the main characters of the first game. But if you like plots where the story is true to the lore of the world built by authors then this will be a masterpiece. It stays true to the post apocalyptic world of the last of us.

    The graphics for the most part seems like next gen visuals.

    The gameplay takes cues from mgs 5 and its pretty varied and intense on higher difficulties. Enemies are very aggressive and don't seem dumb on hard and survivor. However i was able to break the AI twice in the game. Gun play feels very good; gun variety is also present. Skill trees although half of them are meaningless, its a welcome addition for replay value on new game plus to completely level up .

    The game length is also decent clocking around 31 hours on my first play through on hard. New game plus is a welcome addition.

    Game also contains extras like concept art and character models if you like those things.

    Performance on the base ps4 launch version was very impressive with almost no frame rate dips. Encountered frame rate issues once but it was gone once the game was restarted.

    Almost zero bugs in the game. Encountered one buggy shimmy animation in my 60 hours with the game.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Having played The Last of Us to the end and now having played the sequel, I can say that The Last of Us 2 is an absolute masterpiece. I'm fully aware of the amount of people who would disagree tremendously so I'll try my best to explain why I believe it to be far superior to these negative remarks by so many. We are all supposed to love Joel. We are supposed to love Ellie. We are supposed to hate Abby. But as the story unfolds, we get early shocking moments. Joel's death left a bad taste in most peoples mouth. One that would ultimately determine the outcry of such hatred from so many beloved fans.
    What Naughty Dog and the team did here was utter brilliance. They told the story the way THEY wanted. Not the way most wanted. But telling your story, no matter the consequences, is something that so many other games, movies, etc. dont do. For fear of backlash like this. Imagine yourself in each person's shoes here. How would we react in this situation? What path would we take?
    Let me just say...I enjoy Joel's character. I enjoy Ellies character. I originally hated Abbys character. That all changed as I got closer to the end. Watching revenge unfold, passion evolve, relationships questioned, I began to see the story in a different light. It was the perfect way to write this vision. Ellie doesn't need Joel to protect her. She has developed into a strong lead more than capable of pursuing her path alone. Her vengeful mission is understandable. Just as Abbys path is equally understandable. All characters involved are filled with greed, selfishness and a sheer lack of consequence. By the end of this game, I learned to not only love and hate each character at times, but to also understand their drive. To understand that if this were a real life event, I too would probably make the same choices. I think what this team did was genius. They took a risk. They reached a point where it didnt matter if it lived up to the original. They had a story to tell and they were gonna tell it. It doesn't matter if it's what the fans ultimately wanted. Why must everyone be so entitled? Why must they cater to everyone? How boring would it be if every game, movie, book, etc. tried to cater to others visions?! As a storyteller, you reach a point when you say "screw it" and tell the story the way it was imagined regardless of the overall opinion. Sure...they might not make a third. But that's ok. With Joel's tragic death, Ellies lustful urge for revenge and Abbys battle to find her place while also seeking revenge, we are left with an ending that was not only tearful and heartbreaking...but also very beautiful. My hat is off to the team for taking this risk and giving us yet again, another brilliant rollercoaster of emotions as we lived through this world they created.    … Expand

    This game is absolutley amazing. I trully believe that all this hate is only “justified” by the ignorance of those who played it... they were so blinded by the desire of revenge, that they weren’t able too see the beautifull message about self-growth, redemption and forgiveness.
    Please, go and read Neil Druckmann’s letter before playing, and play with an open mind.

    Scenario: Not as charming as the first game, but way more creative. People confuse their anger towards the events with the quality of the scenario, whether you agree or not with the scenarist's choices the writing in this game is great. The story will make you feel all sorts of emotions, will tear you apart and leave you in the dark credits with only a soft guitar rift to process what just happened to you. It's brutal, realistic, and not sugar-coated with Hollywood's ''feel good'' clichés. The story takes liberties and risks to try to be something different rather than going in the fan-pleasing route, as an immense fan of the first installment, I appreciate that.

    I don't want to spoil anything because I think to appreciate the game fully you need to just blindly jump in it, but please give this game the chance it deserves and play through the entire thing and come here to give it an honest score.

    We need to counter all those crazy people blinded by rage who are trying to review-bomb this game without even playing it or, just as bad, by giving it a 0/10, completely ignoring the incredible graphical work, music, sound design, animation, bug testing and actor performances that went into this game because they didn't like the scenario. Even a story-driven game is more than just a story, they hurt the entire single-player story-driven game market by doing that and it worries me that companies will decide the battle royal genre or buggy, repetitive and cliché annual franchises are the only games worth investing in.

    In short: An incredible game wasted on the worst gamer generation in history, blinded by hype, story leaks, and their own idea of what the story should be. (also, it pains me to say this, even homophobia)
    To me, this game is a masterpiece but I understand reasonable complaints that people have that could lower this game to a 7 or 8 out of 10, but below that it's just unreasonable.    … Expand

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
