    Good story, gameplay is like the first the last of us = good
    Graphics and world are amazing. It will be my 2nd best game of this year after cyberpunk. If you want to buy this game don't read negative reviews written by homophobic idiots and stupid kids.     Amazing experience through and through. Ignore the review bombs. I'm not going to go into too much detail but I was spoiled on reddit and still thoroughly enjoyed tlou2 on a technical and an emotional level. This is one of the if not the greatest game I have ever played.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. "When we have we don't appreciate, when we lose, we take revenge." It is with these words that I would characterize The Last of Us Part II.
    At first I hated the game and the story, but after thinking about what I saw, I changed my mind and consider the story of this game, if not great then definitely cool and important for the industry.
    Abby's character loses his father and the decision is revenge. She does it viciously, killing Joel in front of Ellie. The consequences are obvious - Ellie takes revenge for Joel and almost completes what she should, but STOP .. what should? Revenge?
    In this cycle of revenges, we understand one SIMPLEST thing - revenge does not lead to anything good, it will not become easier for anyone, it won't bring people back and etc. We are convinced of this both from the side of Abby, who losed all her friends and everything as result of revenge and from the side of Ellie too, who losed her friend Jesse, almost losed Dina (pregnant!) and Tommy.
    That's why revenge does not lead to good, and if players understands it then it will be the best experience from this game, and if not they will simply obscure it and will not understand the message of the authors.
    About the moment (actually a couple of moments) where Ellie were angry to Joel for pulling her out at the end of the first part. These words describe this in full - "When we have we don't appreciate, when we lose, we take revenge."

    Drackman clearly took the BRAVEST move, turning the story around the way it was done and madmen like him are the engines of the industry, not otherwise.    … Expand

    This is an objective masterpiece - whether you enjoy it or not. I'm sorry if this game hurt your feelings (it was supposed to in a way) or if it didn't go the way you wanted it to. But you must understand that a story doesn't belong to you. Naughty Dog has crafted a challenging story with brutal but honest ideas at play. This inherently turns some people off and it evidently has (whether IThis is an objective masterpiece - whether you enjoy it or not.     The perfect continuation of the first game. Dynamic characters and relationships, great combat, beautiful graphics. This game is divisive, but is worth a play because the execution of the story is great. Part two is just as much of a masterpiece as the first game.

Red Dead Redemption 2 wasn't a terrible game for killing Arthur Morgan, it made the game that much better. Никакая другая игра не вызывала у меня больших эмоций, чем TLOU: Part 2. Игра минимум не хуже первой части уж точно, но а как по мне – лидер среди игр на звание «игра десятилетия». Множество моментов в игре, которые я не буду даже пытаться все перечислить, у меня вызывали мурашки по всему телу, улыбку «до ушей», учащенное сердцебиение, и слезы. Актерская игра на высоте, шикарное музыкальное сопровождение, суперский геймплей, невероятно красивая графика и дизайн и масштабы локаций!!! Да, в сюжете нет такой химии между главными героями, как между Элли и Джоэлом в первой части, но игра цепляет совершенно другим, и она потрясающая. Новые персонажи раскрыты достаточно хорошо, а старые персонажи не забыты и раскрыты еще больше.
    Надеюсь, тебе игра понравится не меньше, потому что хочется ощущать единомышленников среди всей этой шумихи и критики в сторону The Last of Us: Part 2. Я не зря ждал эту игру и я получил от нее те эмоции, на которые и рассчитывал, и даже больше. Спасибо, Naughty Dog!!!    … Expand

    From the gameplay to the story that it tells, the last of us is truly a masterpiece. People argue about the way it has changed, come on, time changes, everything evolves, I didn't see anybody losing their shi* when Mario stopped rescuing Pauline to follow Peach, that was some serious change. Just give yourself a chance and try the game, the whole experience is awesome.

    Das game ist top, die Story ist geil erzählt und teilweise besser als so mancher Kino Streifen. Die Grafik ist verdammt detailliert und die Animation laufen flüssig von der Hand im Kampf. Das crafting und das erkunden macht richtig Laune genau so wie das pimpen der waffen. Making a second part of the first game was not easy and the path they chose was the right one because nobody expected that course of history. As for the criticisms due to the certain role or certain outcome of such a character seem to me that there is a lack of arguments as it is part of the story and the loss of such a character plays a fundamental role, without it there would be no story. The game leaves a message of one of the best possible way. The game mechanics are much better than the previous one and graphically there is no comparison. In conclusion: I thought this game was a work of art, and it doesn’t deserve all the hate it’s getting from the community, and I want to see what they would have done to continue the story… Expand

    Tonight I played TLOU2... exciting game! I think the rating on Metacritic and other sites is not high 'cause real game does not meet expectation of the part of gamers. Here is detailed thoughts about it...
    There are literary works that must be read, such as «Philosophy in the Boudoir» by Marquis de Sade. It instantly catches the attention of a lay reader with the pornographic scenes. That means that most of the readers can't see any background philosophy in this masterpiece. If you are an experienced reader - you know that all the pornographic scenes just should be faded and focus goes on the dialogues between them.
    This principle also works for TLOU2... atmosphere, entourage, gameplay and sexual orientation of heroes are not the target TLOU2. There should be a main question: what is it all about? In my opinion it is about different things with similar ways. Overcoming internal contradictions that goes against the nature of the main characters unites them.
    There are 2 heroines ... Abby was obsessed with revenge and had killed person who was close to Ellie. Abby had a deep hope that after the act of revenge she would feel peace in her soul ... but this never happened. After the murder of Joel, Ellie becomes obsessed with revenge. We observe how does she follow the same way (actually). Conventional wisdom slowly prevails ... and now Abby realizes that the endless series of revenges and deaths must be interrupted, that is why she lets go of Dina and Ellie. Ellie stays «one step behind» with problem understanding. Her desire to take revenge still did not go completely. Finally, she also finds the internal strength to stop killing. In last scenes, both heroines are devastated and crippled in their souls. Heroines disappear ... and obviously they will seek for the strength inside themselves to live.

    What will TLOU3 looks like (sooner or later it will definitely come out)... I see 4 ways for Ellie:
    1) She will live the hermit life (but you can’t create a game with it);
    2) In the last scene, our attention is focused on the «Cicad» symbol. Perhaps now Ellie (who is now left alone) sees her mission in finding them and sacrificing herself for the salvation of humanity for the second time;
    3) A pregnant girl in a gas mask was depicted on the TLOU poster in Uncharted 4. Perhaps it was Ellie ... in this case, the child can make sense of her life, especially since in the game we saw how her attitude towards children changes: at first they annoy her (her and Dina’s dialogue at the very beginning in front of the stage snowball games) and then, she quite joyfully plays with Dina’s child, so that anything can happen;
    4) She will meet again with Abby and «the two loneliness will find each other» (but this, in my opinion, is too primitive).

    Now about the opinions of other people ...
    Many playlists say that the actions of the main characters are not logical ... so the actions of any person who is blinded by revenge lie outside standard logic.
    As for the dull and monotonous gameplay - I agree. But in my opinion, developers have an excuse: no one has ever made games with such a multi-level narrative design. Moreover, I believe that what Drakhman conceived cannot be fully embodied in the game. It's like with a puppet theater: can a doll play all the roles? Akella from Mowgli - yes, because it's just only image. But can marionette play the role of the White Fang by Jack London? No ... because White Fang is a character. Conceived by Drakman is not suitable for the game. Only a book can perform such a depth of design.

This game is a masterpiece, it manages to show so many things so perfectly that it is even difficult to show them all, so many incredible details and a story that really makes you think about so many things, your actions, decisions, among others. The script for this game was able to manipulate me perfectly, and left me in a mix of feelings that was difficult to explain and even to handle, and I believe that the reason this game is receiving so many low marks, is exactly the fact that people are not used to it and they just get angry. The script makes you create an immense hatred for the '' antagonist '', to the point of making many players believe that this is just another cliche game about revenge, however, showing the side of the '' antagonist '' and its reasons in a way so drastic, it made me understand why she did what she did and it just made me angry with myself for being angry with her and made me angry with the fact that I felt sorry for her, and it made me really confused about i was feeling. It made me think that, just like in the game world, all of our actions have consequences and how the lack of empathy and understanding can result in an endless cycle of hate. This was the first game that made me rethink my actions as a protagonist, as I, in search of revenge, killed several people without even thinking that in the end they were just like me, wanting to live a normal life, in times as difficult as those , and as their families are probably in deep suffering due to my lack of humanity. The script makes us create a picture so clear that the antagonist is nothing more than a demon or the evil incarnate that when presenting clear arguments to us, so suddenly that things are not quite like that, we feel a hate within ourselves and me it really hurt. I described the feeling as if the game played a bait to the player who bites it very hard, and suddenly, that bait you took is forcibly taken off causing a terrible pain for the player. At the end of it all, I saw that I was blinded by the hate for the death of characters that I liked so much, which made me commit horrible acts, without even stopping to think that, I was killing humans, that everyone sharing the same feelings that I and how only a little empathy could solve all problems without suffering. I believe there is no perfect game, but The Last Of Us 2 really comes close to that.… Expand

I can’t say if it’s better than the first yet, but it is a much darker and brutal game than the first. It is a progression of the first game, so yes there is a MAJOR death at the beginning. Its what drives Ellie’s need for vengeance, not unlike how Joel’s love for his daughter was resurrected through Ellie and made him protect her and get her to her destination. Granted that ended up making him decide to massacre the fireflies and doctors trying to find a cure for the virus. The Last of Us Part II shows us the consequences of Joel’s actions. Joel obviously held some guilt over his decision, and as a player he’s still of my favorite characters in video game (and media) history and this makes *SPOILERS* his death extremely tragic and heart wrenching. It’s a moment not unlike Sara dying in front your eyes; it makes you feel helpless and to me, I had to pause the game to dry my tears so I could push forward. The review bombing going on is by people who can’t accept a realistic, life-like, gritty story in video games. It’s ridiculous that this is being allowed and that people are this petty over a video game. I’ll be sure to leave a full review once I’m completed.… Expand

To me, the game fulfilled its purpose, it delivered the message in a way that's easy to understand, to those who haven't played or who are simply unhappy with the direction the game went is this, there is no good and evil, there is no black and white, we play as both the 'Protagonist' (Ellie) and the 'Antagonist', Abby, pretty evenly in terms of time spent, we see Ellie oncher bloodthirsty quest for revenge against Abby for killing her father figure, Joel, whole we see Abby go on a redeeming story arc about how she helped the survival of two siblings of a rival tribe because they had saved her. Now because we were with Ellie in part 1, we automatically perceive as everything she does as 'good' or at least justified, but in her quest we suddenly realise that Ellie has brought herself to Abbys level when she stabbed 'Mel' in the neck, not realising that indeed she is pregnant much like Ellies love interest 'Dina'. We also see Abbys justification for killing Joel as the head doctor of the Fireflies on Salt Lake City was indeed her father. To put this simply, the concept of Retribution is put under fire, even tho to many people it is the easier way to go, and with this, many people are unhappy with the way of the direction of the story, which is understandable, but just because you dont like the way this story went for our beloved franchise, does not mean the story is inherently bad, and does not disintegrate the value of the message within this game. (Also, I tried so hard to find the so called agenda that Naughty Dog tried to shove down our throats, and apart from one time at the very beginning, there was nothing else, it's not filled with SJW propaganda or anything like that, if there was, I'd say cus I too hate that)… Expand

    Sad to see a work of art being review bombed by immature gamers. Having swapped characters injects a new depth into the storyline. The review bombs are reflection of ugliness within the gamer community.

    Don’t believe the ratings bombing! The game is fantastic! Ellie has grown in logical ways, and the other characters are well-rounded as well. Sure, the plot can be sad, depressing, and devastating, but it’s beautiful in its own way.

    An absolutely amazing game. This game builds well off of the first without trying to do too much while simultaneously adding in QOL enhancements and more detailed gameplay/graphics. This game keeps the same gripping and deep story along with fulfilling and memorable characters.

I personally felt the story was weaker compared to the first game but it was still enjoyable to me. I personally extremely liked the fact that you play as both Abby and Ellie. It really put into perspective both sides of the coin for me. This game works best if you try and come at this neutral; with an open mind.

    I can see why people might not like the game for the choices made on the characters but thematically it all makes sense. I absolutely love this game! The graphics are amazing and the characters (new and old) are fully realized. Great story and great game. 10/10

    I'm excited to play this game. The characters seem very interesting, and to be honest, I'm glad to see some diversity. One of the things I've noticed over the years is that when my husband and I play games, he can find a character he enjoys pretty easily. I can sometimes find an interesting female character in a game, but she's typically over sexualized. Which is not as much fun to play,I'm excited to play this game. El juego es simplemente una gozada , terminarlo en dificil fue una odisea por lo estratégico que se a vuelto aún más y la cantidad de enemigos que te pueden tocar , la verdad es que la historia está muy bien desarrollada tanto con Ellie como con Abby , se entiende la razón de Abby de porque asesino a Joel y porque ahora tiene tanta importancia en la trama , aunque a mucha gente no le gusto el final abierto en lo personal le encuentro sentido por ser el pase a la parte 3 y esto nos abre el camino a las nuevas posibilidades para estas dos personajes quizá en un futuro de ser aliadas y perdonarse 10/10 el juego .… Expand

    7 years since the first part of Last of Us was released. For me the best game i have ever played. After playing the second part, i know, Last of Us Part 2 is the perfect evolution from the first part. Its unbelievable how intens and immersiv a game could be. So many emotions. Hard Gameplay and hard Story. Best Game i have ever played. Thank you Naughty Dog for a trip like this

    I don’t know why people are bombing this game - but I absolutely love it. It’s emotional, it’s tense, it’s violent. It could be too violent but honestly I think it makes it better, it’s what makes me nervous and have this sense of dread playing. Give it a chance.

Encounters become really tense and interesting. Plus it makes scavenging for items and notes all the more rewarding.Literally just completed it and though it's very difficult to equal or supass the previousAwesome game, I'm thoroughly enjoying it and it follows on beautifully from the last game.     The graphics are amazing, the controls are smooth, it’s incredibly cinematic, and it fills the player with intense emotion as they play as Ellie seeking vengeance. What more could you ask for from an amazing first game and a 7 year wait! Overall the game is enjoyable in both its play style and story.
