    My 8 year old son would come up with more interesting and engaging story/narrative. It's basically the same level as GoT s8 or Star Wars Rise of the Skywalker.. The game that main point's the story, isn't even delivering on that front. Sad.

    Very beautiful graphics and sound design but that is all to the game. Story doesn't make any sense and characters are very unlikable, which is suppose to be the main part of the game. But instead it discredit its value. I was also very disappointed, because they ruined Ellie's and Joel's story. IMHO they destroyed the franchise.

    Absolute trash, this game is the worst game i have ever played. Neil Druckmann is completely delusional. DON'T BUY THIS GAME!!!! We all deserve better including LGBTQ+ . I think it’s strange of sony/naughty dog, to be pro trans but make a trans character that everyone will hate. seems like maybe they are trans phobic themselves but hide it under virtual signalling

    This is my 5th time trying to write a review but the site keeps saying "Error". fishy.
    The game is a testament graphics are the least important feature in a game. Because aside of that, everything is terrible, and just woke propaganda. AVOID this game. Horrible in every way

Since the original came out in 2013 and it was rated 18 and wasn't really a game a kid would play, most of the potential customers would be in late 20's/30's.     At a technical and playable level it is achiever, however all its mechanics and impressive graphics only exist to give depth to its narrative and history, and this is absolute rubbish, not because they have inclusive characters, that part is perfectly fine, I am a big fan of sagas as mass effect, which have a lot of inclusive characters, the problem, I insist, is that their argument is simply bad

    This game decides to destroy an excellent game series in the name of "progressive" themes. Identity politics meets poor storytelling. I only have it a 1/5 because I was worried that a 0/5 would not be counted.

This game was made with the intention of being deep, but ends up as shallow as a puddle. You have done a disservice to the fanbase.     Why did such an endearing character have to end that way? We will never know the answer, but what we do know is that you cannot empathize with a character as disgusting as Abby, someone who does not hesitate to kill by surprise and in a treacherous way, without any honor and with a f....... golf , that’s just ridiculous

Game play was meh and the story literally ruined everything the first one had going for it. Save yourself $60 and watch it on you tube or twitch. I do have a question though.     Unfortunately, the pacing of this game is horrible and poorly written. The gameplay seems dated. It has some light improvements but it still play like the original. Unfortunately, that didn't happen here and Naughty Dog divided their fan base instead of honoring them and new fans alike with their ridiculous decision making. The gameplay itself: gorgeous environments, character models detail even better than the first, and the combat has improved quite a bit. However it does make up for the problematic plot were forced to play. Sorry but this game is worth more of a rental or getting it when it's on a 50% sale pricetag. Such a shame. 5 out of 10.… Expand

This game complete ruins in my opinion of every character left alive in the game, the only enjoyable characters get kill both by Abby and Ellie, and in the very end Ellie give up everything for revenge and then doesn’t finish the job, and in the very end is is left broken and alone consumed by vengeance, lost every from her lover and child, the one thing she has left to remember Joel fondly, then when she realized she I broken and can no longer play the guitar she just leaves it to rot instead of passing it on to someone she just leaves it, the story complete ruins the gameplay and the world which have some improvements over the first game and then something that just pad out the game to make it longer than needed somethings in the game are extremely beautiful, and the only good moments that feel like it is an actual sequel to The Last of Us part 1 are the flash back the Ellie and Joel, this game completely destroys the likability of any character left alive.… Expand

    All I am going to say that when it comes to the actual gameplay, It's more of the same. They really didn't do anything to refine it. The shooting is still clunky as hell, the stealth is still pretty basic The melee combat is the same. The animations are better but that's about it really. If you liked the combat you'll like this. If you hated the combat, then this    Wow....just wow.

    Graphically the game is gorgeous. Hands down the best looking game on PS4. Enivironments are beautiful and lush. The world building is fantastic.

    The story Oh my god... It's bad. like really bad... Think of a tumblr fan fic. It's a revenge story and not even a good one at that. Every character in the game is ab unlikable jerk. I didn't care about any of them. Including the main characters. The story is just so poorly written and full of plot holes. the main characters just...do things that make no sense. Throughout the whole game I was just scratching my head thinking...."why did she do that?"

    The first game had a unique story with likable characters. This.....is just a total departure from all of that.

Ellie goes on a killing spree, We have to fight against Ellie.... As ABBY of all people, the person everybody hates. Then when we finally get to kill her they dont allow us. What I also hate is people blaming bad reviews on political agenda. I can guarantee that post people dont care that ellie is lesbian but they blame the bad reviews on that. It not ok when it used on women, and it not ok here either. It is disgusting and completely erases any possible enjoyment I had before or after.… Expand

    Awful story, nothing in the story is in order
    Joel gets killed and spit on by a female moments after he saved her life. You are then suppose to play 10 hours of her and learn her backstory (no thank you) and then go after and try to kill Ellie.
    The story would have been somewhat ok if they just rearranged the whole story and have had a much more cronological order.

    The Ellie flashbacks are really good and is on of the few things that make this game somewhat ok.

    Playing as Debby quickly got boring and you had no incentive to try to find and kill Ellie, all meanwhile you are waiting for the story to continue where the cliffhanger left off.

    Don't buy, I didn't I just watched playtroughs and I felt like my time was pretty wasted.    … Expand

If they made a part 2 I always wanted it to be a prequel showing the bad side of Joel those first beginning years of the outbreak. Needless to say Joel is my favorite character. Now I am used to characters dying because I am a game of thrones fan and I kinda appreciate what they were trying to do here but it just felt lacking. Joel deserve more even if your going to kill him off. There were some things I really liked about the game though. The graphics were sex an upgrade probably some of the best. I ever seen. To be honest. It felt as thought the mechanics didn't get much of an upgrade but its understandable because I don't know what else you could do.the puzzles really had me upset the ones in the first game were a lot better. I do like to have missons with the Joel and Ellie mechanic. Flaoting Ellie on pallets was nice and i liked the call back too it. The plot was pretty much You killed my dad so imma kill yours, yo you killed my dad so Imma kill you and your friends. Yo you killed my brother so imma kill you and your friends with my adoptive niece. It’s just a Revenge driven plot. I mean it’s hard to sympathize with A character who killed the person that literally made the first game and I think that’s where you lost everyone. Some deaths were pointless right towards the end it seems like you were just cutting people off for the hell of it. And that ending holy **** why did you do that to my girl Ellie. She made one of the hardest decisions in her life and she comes back to nothing that’s weird. Idk story seemed forced, gameplay was quick as hell, and Jesse died for no reason.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. They did my favorite dynamic duo dirty in this one. If you enjoyed the first game, for the gameplay and the story, I have good and bad news. The story will bring you misery and depression much like 2020 has so far.
    You will be shocked by the uncharacteristic decisions made by Ellie and Joel. You will be introduced to many good guys only for them to die without even a whimper. There is a sex scene that is the most distasteful thing I’ve seen in gaming in many years. You will play as the character that kills and tortures Joel. As Ellie you will kill many to reach said person only for Ellie to decide not to get revenge with no explanation given leaving a bad taste in your mouth. The game mechanics are fine but the story and all the senseless **** that happens will sour the whole experience. Very little replay ability. Naughty Dog should fire Neil Druckmann for wasting all our time. Many people waited for years with high expectations, but in fact after I played this one I realized all I wanted was to spend more time with Joel and Ellie, growing up and fighting the infected together. Joel saves Ellie only to be hated by her for it and dies a horrible death.     Painful cringe experience.

    Great graphics, beautifully crafted environments, solid gameplay like the first. But the story is just awful. What I know of the story ruins it. Everything and every one that was made good in the first game is completely destroyed in this one for a character that has little to do with anything really and is entirely unlikeable or relatable.

    Why I didn't just burn these 60$.......the story was just terrible. I don't care about the "agenda" or the LGBTQ characters. The story and characters are contrived. Especially Joel and Ellie did everything to fit into the games story, they didn't behave like they would in TLOU 1. I could have written more but I really am exhausted mentally after playing this game for 14 hours straight.

    imo.. making the vaccine should've been ellie's choice but since she was drugged, it was joel's choice, he is the one who traveled half across the country with her, he is the one who protected her & they bonded together, he was like a father to her.
    it wasn't marlene's choice, and sure as hell it wasn't Jerry's *The doc* choice either so both of them can go die or wtv.
    what he did was kinda justified because he was just protecting his "daughter" the only person who cares about in this world & when this doc tried to stop him, joel had no choice but to shoot him.
    so joel is on the right side here not this stupid doc or his daughter.
