    This game is shameful to think the studio name Naughty Dog once meant something. The animators and individuals who built the textures and models should take pride in their work. Speaking of the word end there isn't one it's pathetic it's the equivalent of the developer spitting in your face after already beating you into the ground. I really wish I could give this more than a 0 for the model/texture designers, animation devs, and people who helped sculpt the underlying fundamentals. But the writers poor job takes away the score I was going to give them. It is so bad that I am actually taking time to review a **** game instead of playing another one.

    ellie perdio todo muchos amigos a su "padre", la cuckearon y abandonaron, hasta los dedos que ni tocar la guitarra puede y abbye se vengo y todo le salio de 10 "ayyy pero pierde genteeee" (que a ella ni le caía bien y incluso a algunos tenia ganas de matarlos y yayyy el guion hace que mueran sin que ella tenga que hacer nada)

    abbye no es una victima, cuando ella se vengo de joel hizo que ellie mirara y la dejo ir solo para poder seguir haciendo lo mismo(si a ella le dolió mucho lo que paso porque queres que alguien que no te hizo nada sufra incluso más haciéndola mirar?), tuvo oportunidades infinitas de matar a a elli pero no, mata a seres queridos de ella solo para ver su reacción (y creo que con le escena del teatro queda bien en claro que abby es una sadica), si elli la ubiera matado no seria lo mismo que hizo abby bajo ningún concepto (hey amigos la venganza es mala a pero si lo haces como abby que le salio todo de 10 y nunca recibió castigo ta todo genial)

    si querían hacer algo con el tema de la venganza es mala podrían haber dejado que ellie matara a abby (y ahi abby tendria su merecida consecuencia por sus actos) y a ellie que se quedo sin nada y que no le valió la pena con todo lo que perdió o haciendo que mueran ambas y ahi el "la venganza no trae nada bueno" esta bien ya que las 2 personas que se vieron consumidas por esta recibieron sus consecuencias por sus actos no como lo que hicieron con abby dejándola ir contradiciendo todo el mensaje ya que todo le salio bien y ni tuvo consecuencias que a ella le afecte

    First off the graphics and mechanics of the game are brilliant and the first few hours seem well crafted and highly polished. The mechanics whilst mostly the same as in the first game are still excellent and the graphical quality has obviously progressed greatly in the time since the first game released.

The game will frequently jump around with exposition to the point that it seems as if some scenes where misplaced. The later story isn't compelling repeating the same few story beats over and over. They killed the main character like he was dumb and useless, and suddenthly we have to play as his killer for 10 straight hours, and if that wasn't even enough we have also to beat the sh*t out of ellie while playing as abby. In the end ellie didn't even get to revenge on abby. Last thing when we only have ellie as a beloved character we see her losing dina and JJ and also she won't be able to play the guitar again , which was one thing that joel taught her to play. And to make things even worse she abbandon joel's gift in his house.i'll give a 3/10 because at least the music was good, the graphic was good and even the AI was really good… Expand

In a story based game the story is a bit important. Game play is similar to the original which I didn't find too engaging, but I know many enjoy it. The Graphics and sound track are pretty lovely.     Overall the story was written like someone who was wrote a college essay last minute, extremely sloppy. It tried so hard to be different and speak on social issues which was great but came across as trying too hard and in the end was just an utter embarrassment of a game. Little to no enjoyable parts, it became very redundant.

    So I don't leave reviews for anything pretty much, but this game has me so conflicted. Gut feeling is that I enjoyed it, but when I finished and new game plus was an option, I knew immediately I wouldn't want to play through the story again.

    I came away from the game just feeling sad. All of this pain and anguish for what? To torture characters and motivate me? Motivation is pointless when a couple of hours later the game works overtime to destory that motivation and just make you confused and leaves you just wanting to leave the situation. I don't think this story is putting across what they thought it would. I just felt extremely let down by the reactions characters have when just before the cut scene we were murdering dozens of people and animals. Maybe an action game where you are required to kill isn't the place to force shame onto the player for playing the game.

    The other parts of the game are great. It is one of the most beautiful games I've ever seen and the acting in most of the game is fantastic. The story just ruins the overall experience and the legacy of the first game and destroys any desire that I would have to play through it again. I wish they would have done things differently. I really do.

    Overall it made me sad and made me disinterested in any further Last of us titles. The investment that I had in that world and the characters is gone.    … Expand

    Some people think it's a good story and I think they haven't played the first game yet. Without the context from the first game, it's a dumb story that you may ignore. Such as both characters kill bunch of people but somehow at the end "oh, I don't wanna kill you". Come on, they kill a hundred already now you saying putting down the revenge? Is there going to be a new character who's jesse's secret brother in The Last of Us 3 and let's say wanna get revenge? You know, the Asian guy Abby killed so she can beat up and forgave Ellie or Ellie doesn't like him because of his race. Ironically, What did Neil say on Twitter again?

    The purpose of the game maybe is trying to tell people that revenge is bad, is a dead cycle that will bring down your life, but it doesn't make any sense. Will you kill a hundred people just to kick your foe's ass? I surely no.

    Joel's death is another nonsense. He killed so many people but doesn't care about someone come for him and say his and his brother's real name to a bunch of strangers, who have guns and apparently more number then them, in the middle of a tiny room. How careful he is in the apocalypse world.

    And you will find more in the game, good luck have fun, I don't wanna type them all out    … Expand

    When I played the original The Last of Us it was one of the most fun & exciting gaming experiences I had ever had. In recent years, I have replayed the original game twice and enjoyed it again each time. Needless to say I was really looking forward to Part 2. For me it was a disappointment of epic proportions. I strongly suggest you save your money.

Graphics are overrated at best, Red Dead Redemption 2 and God of War 2018 are better. Story is overflowing with nonsense, coiencidences, out of character behaviour, plot holes, retcons, underdevelopment, mental manipulation, and inconsistencies, worse story than the rise of Skwalker, the last jedi, Artemis Foul, Batwoman, Dragonball super, Charlie's angels, birds of prey, Game of thrones season 8, Batman V Superman, Justice Leauge, all combined and multiplied to the 11th power. Just generic unoriginal predictable repetitive mediocrity that we have seen one thousand times over all around through and through. This is an embarrassment to the name of video games, an embarrassment to the name of playstation. If you own this game please pour some gasoline on it, take a big lighter, put it to your butt and flame fart this filth to ashes. because thats what this is. its a fecal fire. The sound design is excellent, and the gameplay delivers exactly what you'd expect.     While there are shining moments, that usual Last Of Us quality, the overall story and the arc will quickly drop you off, never to pick you up again. It gives you just enough to keep playing, only to result in a journey you wish you never took. Naughty Dog finally dropped the ball. Despite being very solid game in its technology-side, the story should've been the biggest catch especially after Part 1. The user score you see before you is indeed what you get: the fanbase isn't lying.

    If you're really desperate to play it for yourself, rent it, borrow it: just don't buy it. Don't support this shameless product.    … Expand

From a triple A developer like Naughty Dog who were the kings of videogame scriptwriting, it's deeply sad that they've written one of the most flimsy, insulting and plot hole filled stories ever to be released.
    I saw the leaks for the game but I still had trust in ND to make the story work, but sadly the story was even more disappointing when I actually saw it unfold. Previously well written characters are reduced to dull one note contradictions that oftentimes change their motivations on whim and only because the weak script needs them to.

    It's as if the writers didn't know where to take the story next so it relies heavily on shock value twists in order to mask the truthfully weak and paper thin story that it really is. The reason why the original game worked so well is because it told a simple story, but the whole point was to build a relationship with two characters that culminates to the last act and everything that happened before makes perfect sense. The sequel very much feels like it has no real point, and even though the game is even longer than the original, most of what happens feels like padding and this doesn't help the awful pacing issues.

    Positives? Visually it can be impressive, though I've still been way more impressed with other games, but it looks good. Gameplay can be fun, I like stealth games so when I'm sneaking in the grass trying for the perfect silenced headshot, the game can be satisfying.

    Sadly overall the game is just a gigantic letdown, and it's clear to me that the original game should've been left alone and never needed a sequel.    … Expand

Everything I loved about TLoU was butchered beyond belief (all within the first three or so hours), and the amount of hard-left political grandstanding was extremely immersion breaking. It's like the devs completely forgot what made TLoU special and interesting in the first place - although, I'm led to believe that this complete change in tone and direction was, unfortunately, intentional. The first game had nuance and characters which made you invested in the story, but there's none of that to be found in the sequel.

    It should be noted that the presentation is excellent. The artists at ND are absolute wizards at environmental art, and they are to be commended for that, but the gameplay doesn't improve greatly and it plays almost identically to the first game. Aside some minor traversal mechanics which honestly add nothing but padding, ND haven't improved or iterated in any meaningful ways.

    Overall I'm bitterly disappointed with TLoU2. The best part about the original was the relationship between Joel and Ellie, and both of those things are gone. What's replaced those characters are thoroughly unlikable shells which serve nothing more than to push a horribly written narrative, full of explotiation and plot holes. I refunded this game after completing it in roughly 26 hours, and now I'm writing this.

    Do yourself (and the industry) a favour and skip it. Watch some reviews. Read the millions of comments. Caveat emptor.    … Expand

    TLOU2 has the makings of a great stand alone game. As a sequel, I found it rather disappointing.

    The graphics, sound design and acting in this game is on another level. It's incredible to actually see this kind of graphical fidelity on such old hardware (I have a regular first gen PS4).     The gameplay is largely the same as its predecessor, with the addition of jumping and going prone to explore the landscape. Melee combat now has a dodge mechanic, which can make those tense showdowns a little easier to manage. I do find getting melee kills in this game a bit too easy though, as you don't have the same depreciating craftable weapons from the first game. I also find it disappointing that you can't pick up a fallen enemy's weapon, which kills some aspect of realism as well as emergent gameplay.

    The story and characterization is where I'm truly divided with the game. I expected certain deaths here and there, but I believe it was executed poorly. The narrative is also very confusing with all the flashbacks and timelines. I think they tried to take the Pulp Fiction route in changing up the timeline of events and trying to make it self-referential, but it ended up being a convoluted mess in my opinion. There is also a large section of the game where it switches up the character you play as, and although I enjoyed certain aspects of the character, I could not resonate with the character on a personal level like I could with Ellie. It seems like the narrative is torn on who they want to portray as the protagonist of this game, and it really makes a mess of things from the eyes of the viewer.

    Even worse is as I continue playing as the new character, I can feel myself slowly losing interest in playing the game and have to force myself to complete it. The game's pacing takes a bad turn here and becomes another conspicuous problem for the game. In the previous game, the banter between Joel and Ellie kept things interesting at least. Here, I was dragged out in long sections by myself, and even when I did have a companion, I did not find them interesting.

    TLOU2 was a game I was really looking forward to, and while it really shined as an achievement in aesthetics and acting, the game's narrative, characters, and pacing really weigh down everything great about it. Had TLOU2 not been such a story and character-focused game, those issues wouldn't have been much of a problem. But as it stands, the game feels like wasted potential, and that pains me a lot to say that because I really loved the first game and had high hopes for this one.    … Expand

    I will not talk about the fraud of the promotional video and the fraudulent behavior of the game introduction without mentioning the new protagonist. The story line is very conventional. Even when it looks like a forbidding or some characters appear, you can guess the plot trend casually. If it weren’t for the naughty dog logo, I think this is a bootleg game.

It was just depressing and not what I wanted. .That being said, I will never pick the game up again, and it was so manipulative that I won't buy another PS4 title and I'm trading in my PS4. I'll be buying a Nintendo Switch and play actual games with the intent to have fun. Incredibly depressing experience that killed my love for the medium. So they did a good job I guess, if I feel that strongly.

    Such a disappointment. I bought this game to see more of Joel and Ellie, which is what they sold the game as, and got some random NPC's story that I care nothing about. The gameplay and graphics are phenomenal, and I would like to give this a 7 or 8, but the Last Of Us is a game that's focused on the story and this story is just awful.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. At first I didn't know if people were trying hard to give bad scores to the game (I was still waiting for my copy to be shipped) so I wasn't sure what to think about all of this.

    I started playing few days ago (done now) and while the game has some good points (graphics, level design etc.) the most important part (the story) is all messed up. Last of Us's key element is its story and I don't know what they were thinking. I understand they all live in an apocalyptic world, which means some people will eventually do bad things to survive, but many points do not make sense at all. Let's break it down :

    They kill Joel in the first 2 hours of the game. It's something that could actually make sense, but the way they did it, it doesn't. Why ? First, they kill him WAY too fast and by some random character we don't even know about. Then, it's the way they kill him that doesn't make sense too. Joel has more experience and trusting such a group at the beginning of the game just to get killed few minutes later makes no sense too. He had to be on guard, eventually wait outside, call for help or whatever. But to join a random group just to get killed? Yeah... excuse me but that's a very bad way to handle it.

    Now let's talk about Abby, the newly introduced character. When she's about to kill him, Joel doesn't seem to recognize her or anything and from our player's standing point, it's just confusing. Joel's reaction : ok, let's do this quick, just finish me. WTF ? Come on man, fight for your life, try to understand what's going on at least. Joel looked so weak, damn.

    If Joel died trying to save Ellie or a natural death (even a bite), I wouldn't mind that much (even if I loved that character), but to kill him like that? Nope... I can't accept that.

    And if you think about it, Abby killing him has no meaning and for one more reason : if Joel had to get killed by all the father's daughters he eventually killed in the previous game, there'd be an army hunting him down. So why Abby? She barely has anything special, it's a random character we never heard of, anybody else that got killed could have an angry son/daughter to go after Joel. I'm so disappointed by this non sense that I'm losing my word, so I'll skip to the next part : Ellie's choice.

    So during the game, you basically destroy innocent people that never touched Joel, you kill hundred's of enemies and in the end, Ellie's like : you killed Joel? Nah it's okay, let's move on, happy ending for you Abby!

    As mentioned, we kill hundreds of enemies just to let her go... Who the hell decided this? Oh and I forgot to mention, I bought the collector's edition and Neil Druckman had a letter for us saying something like : "how far you would go for revenge?".

    Okay, how far would I go? It goes both side. How far Abby would go (she decided to kill Joel) and then comes Ellie's turn. As a player, why you NEVER gave me the choice to DECIDE BY MYSELF? You ask us how far we'd go just to decide for ourselves without giving us any options. Do not ask uf what we would do if we're condamned to follow Ellie's bad choice to let Abby survive. It was your decision as a game creator to not to as far as revenge, so why bother ask us? If our decision doesn't interest you, just don't ask, ffs.

    I can't give a 0 to the game because some things are actually good, but as I've already said, the narrative part of the game (the most important one) has been ruined. If TLOU was my grave, Neil Druckman just spitted on it.

    I'll give one point for the graphics, one for the music, one for the gameplay.

    And please, I beg Naughty dog, if there's a 3rd part, don't let that man work on it unless you want to release another bad story.

    From now on, I'm just going to forget about this game and will consider that everything's over at TLOU's ending.    … Expand

Unfortunately the writers got into the sugar cereal and had a meltdown in the story department. I have no problem with killing off main characters, especially to inspire you to follow through the game until the end, but to make you play as the killer of someone you pent 100s of hours with building a relationship with and getting attached to? To be frank, are you high? This is just first and foremost poor story telling and to put this out on the market thinking it was a good idea was a horrible mistake.     окей - далее - коль кино - значит важен сюжет. ктото топит что мол ЛГБТ - да пофиг, к эту претензий ноль. минус в том, что все очень непоследовательно. вот она пытает, а вот не может выстрелить. вот она валит людей пачками, а потом не может. обе - взрослеют - но все также идут на поводу мести. хотя по факту это все забывает за год. и эти все чувства разносят в клочья кучу выживщих, поселения и прочее. это какая то сказка, но которая подана как реальность. это повествование учит быть непоследовательным, не держать чувства в узде, убивать по первой прихоти и тут же - не убивать. очень все старанно... не рекомендую. это кино оставляет кучу вопросов и удивление... кино как быть нытиком и истеричкой. и это про всех, не только про девченок. и диким дырами в сюжете... вообщем - Детроит лучше. а в это не играете, не надо...

Los gráficos son buenos, las animaciones están bien, la inmersión está más o menos, la IA es mediocre y muy simplista donde se resume en seres sin inteligencia que van a por ti apenas te detecten y los seres inteligentes que te rodean y tratan de flanquearte como patitos de feria, sin cubrirse y enviando perro para ponerte nervioso, los cuales mueren de un tiro sin más, simplemente es muy básico, lo difícil es darles headshot con el maldito dualshock 4. La valoración real debería ser de un 3, puro grafico y mucha exploración sin sorpresas con ningún giro en la trama, es demasiado soso, simplon, la sexualidad de los personajes fue vendida como si fuera importante en la trama y esto es falso, no hay nada de la sexualidad que haga mella en la trama o haga un giro o tenga algún impacto en el espectador, da igual, la trama venezolana de amor me es muy ñoña, está un pelo por sobre el death stranding.     More than the weird feeling you get when the character you learned to love are displaying unfitting behaviors, its the general atmosphere of the game that failed to make feel attached to it.

    Storytelling is such an important part of how a game or a movie touches its audience, yet it seems to have been completely forgotten here. The character writing especially is somehow downgraded exponentially from the first opus, with potent character being written off like they got discarded at a casting, while other "new" empty character got a surprising amount of spotlight (not the good kind of surprise). This resulted in a most of the storylines and quests being meaningless and unexciting. And since this is supposed to be the heart of the game, that why I cannot give it a decent grade.

    I dont even care that the gameplay is just a loop of repetitive similar challenges and situation, for which you get bored after a couple of hours. Thats not even the point.
    The point is that a story telling game got so lost in social virtue that its own soty telling has been killed. I was looking forward for that game so much and end up givin this kind of review only a day after release. This game will stay an example of how incerting politics and social issues into games can destroy good story telling, and divide its fanbase.    … Expand

I hope this madness stops soon before its too late and those who use us for their personal gain gets theirs. We dont care who someone sleeps with or attracted too and of course people are born that way and its not their fault because DNA is a program that sometimes creates a male body but programs it as if its a female body and it ranges from kinda to full blown.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. alright so you made joel look like a idiot in the first game he is carfull and does not even trusting marlene and killing her because he knows she will come back for vengence. but then in the sequel i cant even call it cannon they make joel look like a stupid old man in the old game he knows a ambush is coming but here hi guys im joel. no no no he would never do that and how they exectued his death is so **** you can kill joel because of the actions he did in tlou 1 but you dont just make a character we have not know before just come and kill him and then you force us to play this character we hate then. the ending does not make sense lets not get vengence on abby when you have killed all those people in your way and not kill her after all that? its like kratos not killing zeus at the end and saying lets forget it. 2 out of 10 because it ran on the ps4… Expand

    This story is just stupid, make no sens! I didint care for new characters at all and this is all about in this game! Its just poor writing. 3 points for gameplay.

    Fantastic sequel, every bit as good as the first. I have no idea what game players who are giving poor reviews actually played, but it couldn't have been TLOU2. This is a must play without a doubt.

    Too bad they buried a very good game. Unfortunately it is impossible to make a refund as in steam, I am very disappointed, not sure if I can go through the game to the end. I am a very strong fan of the first part and probably went through it more than 12 times, but the second part is a shame. Boring is not an interesting story, but SJW activists will be happy with 10/10.

    Очередная компания прогнулась под "авторитетное " мнение фемок. ОТЛИЧНО! The last of us была великолепной игрой , но увы , достойного продолжения она не получила. Ставлю 10/1000 жирных фемок.

    Nice graphics & scenery & very polished but that's about it. Generic survival horror gameplay with barely any thought that was put into puzzles, story is utter garbage & basically a middle finger to the fans of the first game, all that to push their woke narrative, Naughty Dog used to be one of the best devs what happened? What changed?...

    Shame on Neil Druckmann and Naughty Dog for butchering the last of us, I fully completed the game and the whole story is utterly unbearable bad... With unlogical choices from the main characters. Technically game play and creativity the best I have played, but whoever came up with the story needs a golf club to the head.

    De las 25-30 horas de juego normales 20-22 son referencias a los gustos y situación de los personajes.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
