    Just terrible, a lot of false and misleading advertising making you believe that you can play as Joel when in reality you play as Abby for about 60% of the game in addition to basically giving Joel a **** end with so bad writing that I believe a 7 year old could do a better end and story for this game. Furthermore the ending dose not make sense if **** thinks a logical human would let AbbyJust terrible, a lot of false and misleading advertising making you believe that you can play as Joel when in reality you play as Abby for about 60% of the game in addition to basically giving Joel a **** end with so bad writing that I believe a 7 year old could do a better end and story for this game. All in all never play this game think as the first one to be the conclusion in my mind this is very disappointing and distasteful and dose a major disservice to the fans who waited almost a decade for the next chapter in a such promising franchise. All I can bother to say to Neil and the naughty dog team is don’t even bother making a third entry in this franchise if your not going to remake the 2nd game and make it good.… Expand

    But this game is not just about gameplay ... the story really sucks. There are too many plot holes. You can't understand what happens sometimes. For example when abby beats dina and Ellie the plot moves into the future without explaining how They found a doctor to treat the wounds. (Ellie had a broken arm, dina and Tommy were seriously injured. )Jesse dies like a retarded. Ellie spares abby in the end for no logical reason. This game is against Joel. Joel has been "mistreated" by Ellie. Tommy then after a blow to the head It survives by losing only one eye. ARE WE SERIOUS? I put 4 just for gameplay, music and level design otherwise this game deserves 0    … Expand

The shooting dynamics are boring the stealth leaves so much to be desired and honestly the story feels like you just watched some revenge show on Netflix and wrote then bought the story from some freshman at film school.     The only true last of us is in my favorite games of all time. I was excited up until the first leaks came out. I had a small piece of hope that it would be at least somewhat good as I already expected Joel would probably die in the squeal just not in the way the leaks showed. The way Abby just kills Joel when at this point the player has no idea who Abby makes her insufferable. All the work they do to try and make her sympathetic does nothing. At the end of the game, I agree with Ellies's decision to still go after Abby cause 'it can't all be for nothing'. It does not make sense that she would almost just let Abby go, she had just killed a man to get information on where Abby is. The ending is inconsistent with Ellie's character, as the entire game she has been killing people to try and get to Abby, and it is stupid she did not just shoot her in the head. Ellie's ending is bad and she does not even get revenge if she had just killed her straight away all that would be different is she would still have 10 fingers. A waste of £160. Collapse… Expand

Joel could see an amubush from a mile away in the first game why did he trust random people who were trespassing in their territory and on top of that you are forced to play the character that killed Joel and I who went into the game blind was not expecting that. They could have let us play more of Ellie which I would have liked. I personaly could not sympathize with Abby Because of the way she killed Joel even after he saved her, she tortured him to the end which I was not happy about. Ellei after seeing Joel die goes on hunting the people who killed Joel but guess what she kills hundreds of people but when it comes down to killing that one person who killed Joel she lets her go. Horrible writting and not enough types of infected. Also the time skip did not have anything new to it , just some more vegetation. Overall it's an embarrassment to the pre-qual.… Expand

Pregnant woman (with a huge belly) goes on the raid - climbing, jumping, fighting. And by the way, she is a medic! Medic, Carl! One of the most important profession in post apocalypse. This would make sense ONLY if they if they were short on manpower, but... On their base were a lot of men and not-pregnant women. So yeaaah, sure, she'll go... About the end... This is disrespectful to the fans of the original and the beloved character of Joel which made the first game so great. The story is garbage, so badly written and made me not want to play to the end. I had to force myself to complete this identity politics ,feminist man hating crap. Joel is not playable and he is led out of character to his death ,then you are forced to play as the character who killed him and live through her backstory in an attempt to be on her side. This fails miserably and the ending is unsatisfying and just left me with a bad taste in my mouth. It boggles the mind that they thought this would go down well. The fans wanted the playable story of Joel and Ellie to continue but what you get is Abby who i could not give a **** about. The only positive thing about this game is the graphics and combat. But i found even the gameplay dull after a while in this bleak dull world they created. Will someone please make a fan made sequel so i can forget this dog **** ever existed.     I do honestly believe graphics, scenery, music was good. But the plot was terrible. I get it it is about revenge and hatred and all, but Abby was no where near sympathetic. If you wanted players to be sympathetic towards Abby you should've put her side of story first and how it came this way. But instead all I saw was death in front, and then story of the past of why she did it. The infamous scenery could've been better by locking Ellie and not let her see the death up front and just see the dead body afterwards. The storyline was epic failure. If it was poorly made, everyone would give at least 6 - 7 for it. But it the story was made terribly in purpose. It's hard to make a good story, but it sure is easy to make terrible one that makes the readers/ players upset. U disgust me.    … Expand

    The best approach here may have been to do TLOU2 with brand new main characters that overlapped with Joel and Ellie. What has happened here I considered a travesty with how our main characters were handled. It really hurts to play.

    I can safely say I am done with TLOU2, and will be a little more weary of the next story-driven Naughty Dog game, especically with Druckmann attached.    … Expand

If a lot of this narrative fat was trimmed then the game would be a more enjoyable and concise 8 - 10 hour experience. -All of the main characters are extremely unlikeable. Furthermore, TLOU2 wastes time trying to incur the players empathy for these unlikable and disposable characters.
    -Plot holes abound
    -The game forces you to play as characters for which you have little emotional investment. -The gameplay has marginally improved since the first game. However, 7 years have passed since then and there should have been at least some innovation. You won't find any here
    -The story comes across as unfocused, padded, unnecessary and lacking in genuine human emotion.
    -The games narrative themes is unsubtle and 'preachy'
    -The less said about the abysmal ending the better...

    Long story short, skip this one and pretend the franchise ended with the first game...

    This game was really pretty bad, I bought it and played it all the way through. The character development was written by a bunch of idiots. It tries to be super edgy and just comes off as if it is written by a child. I could not recommend the story of this game less.

    Unfortunately a game like TLOU lives and dies by its story and not by its graphics or gameplay:

    -Dumb and miserable story

    -Unlikeable characters

    -An ending that makes the (already bad) story completely pointless

    A well-written story set in an apocalyptic setting should have both highs and lows, because the highs make the lows feel more powerful and vice versa.
    The story of TLOU has both love and hate, happiness and sadness, good and evil, fun moments and serious moments, absolute hope and utter despair, the story of TLOU2
    only has the latter stirred up with a pointless ending that leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

    As a standalone game, TLOU 2 would have simply been a poorly written game, as a sequel to the beloved TLOU this is a punch to the gut for all the fans though.

    4/10 is the most objective score I can give this game, from a more subjective perspective it feels more like a 1/10.    … Expand

    It was inevitable that Joel had to die at one point, but this was just so poorly handled. The story was boring and you’re forced to play as a character you hate and have no interest in (and how was it so buff in a world where starvation and lack of resources are problems). And the story had the most unsatisfying ending ever.     - Graphics: Looks good, does it look brilliant? NO IT DOESN’T. There’s A LOT of PS4 games that look better, nothing about the graphics is special. The facial expressions however feel so horrible and exaggereted at some points, I am literally baffled as to how the first game managed to pull off facial expressions way better than this one. The original game was more impressive graphicswise considering how weak the PS3 actually was.
    - Gameplay: I am not sure if it’s just me, the gameplay is the same as in the first game, this is completely okay. What’s not okay is how dragged out and boring this game gets. The introduction is just a horribly paced build up to an unnecessary sex scene, the rest of the game doesn’t feel any better. Just slow and overly long.

    - the story, oh boy don’t get me even started. Everything is a complete 0. Some of the worst characters I have ever seen in fiction. Ellie is nothing more like the loveable daughter figure. Her entire personality is just nothing, it’s unreasonable, irrirrational andshe makes highly questionable decisions. She accomplishes basically nothing and her motives are never even questioned. On the other hand Abby is being forced down your throat as this sympathetic character who is basically an angel after comitting the most brutal murder in the entire game. Abyy’s character arc is just nothing, never does she reflect on her revenge, never does it influence her character, never is there a growth. Joel’s drath is a mere plot device to kickstart an awful story. It has no long lastinf effecfs. All the characters are forgetable, why would we ever care about Jesse or Owen?Never is their death ever even mentioned again. “All the characters are equal in this universe” but somehow Joel’s death is the reason for a freaking war but Jesse, nah who cares about Jesse. None of the characters undergo any deeper character arc, Neil **** forgot how to write sympathetic characters so he has to pull of the “OMG she’s pregnant card” LITERALLY THREE TIMES! The game is just a gory **** that has nothing to offer. You loves the incredibly powerful bonda and developments in the first game? This game is nothing for you. The game has nothing to do with hate it’s just a very very poorly executed generic revenge story. The easily worst thing is that it tries so hard to pretend it’s not a generic revenge story. It’s so stigmatized in western culture at this point that it’s unbearable. Take Old Boy as an example of a very original and incredibly executed revenge story. The good stuff is incredible and some of the best out there: graphics, voice acting and physics. However, the 90's animation when the game is not in 'movie mode' (i.e. backwards crouch walking, jumping animation from stand still etc)Without giving anything away this sequel is a gargantuan disappointment. Games are more than the sum of its parts, and the parts here are overwhelmingly bad. The good stuff is incredible and some of the best out there: graphics, voice acting and physics.     For me this game looks like some miserable attempt to force you to make changes that you did not want to. It's like you were struggling between "yes!, finally we can make this game" and on the other hand "but remember there's a price - this checklist you must stick to..." It looks like there was too much talking and not enough working, not enough cooperating... Did something divided your team?...

    Technicals, music, climate, graphics, locations and creatures are a masterpiece. I loved the guitar, I loved most of the cutscenes, I loved that you introduced different threads and characters (at least most of them). I read all the notes and letters etc.
    But I cannot accept fake stories and stupid ideas.

    Something strange started when you released the Lost Legacy and goes worse and worse since then. It's like you hate all living creatures (including people). Stop!

    I'm giving you rate of 0 to wake you up!
    I've been playing games for more than 20 years.. Please never ever do that again... In the meantime I will try to forget what happend with the game.

    p.s. get rid of all the distractors and say goodbye to the game-grinches.

    I rated 0 because as I was falsely advertised about some characher having a bigger role by the Developer.

    Felt like a betrayal to be misinfirmed by trailers: it was not clever for a crucial plot point, just straight up lie.
    The game is actually a 6-7/10 tbh, technical wonders are to be taken into consideration. Story however is wasted.

The story begins by killing Joel, a beloved character from the first game, in a incomprehensible way. You then play as Ellie and are forced to commit heinous acts, such as torturing people, killing dogs, and even a pregnant woman. Whereas, the game forces you to play Abby in such a way where you are helping people, playing with dogs, and saving children to attempt to have the player sympathize with Abby. Additionally we learn her motivation for killing Joel, which Frankly, is not enough to have us sympathize with her. Ellie, regrets the horrible things she did as she: had PTSD and visible anguish for both, torturing and murdering a pregnant woman; while Abby took pleasure in torturing Joel, despite him saving her life, and in the idea of killing Ellie's pregnant girlfriend. This shows how psychopathic Abby is and makes the player hate her even more. Near the end you are forced to attempt to kill Ellie as Abby, after you kill Jessie, and presumably Tommy. The narrative is both infuriating and extremely unmotivated for the player into wanting to kill Ellie. Finally, the ending is unjustified, as Ellie gets no revenge despite losing everything and rampaging through Seattle, committing several heinous crimes. Overall, terrible storytelling and an extremely unsatisfactory ending. However, the saving grace is the graphics, gameplay, voice acting and soundtrack, which is why I even rated it a four.… Expand

    I have played part 1 over 10 times, because of its story. But now? story of part 2 is absolutely trash. I will never play games made by Naughty Dog. Part 1 is the best game in my life, and part 2 is the worst game in my life, what an amazing!!

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
