    This game is trash, horrible story, forced ideologies, crap ending, pathetic and selfish director and they are trying to buy good scores as you can see the difference between the "page review" and the real user score, I just ordered my money back today, thank you for nothing.

It's an offense to the work that had the first title, the characters are horrible, the plot full of inconsistencies and things that have to happen because if to advance the plot, the characters are a shadow of what they were before (And no, to justify it by saying "is that time passed" is crap) the gameplay is minimal compared to the movies (Try to face the problems and not just in stealth mode and see what is really gameplay, nothing compared to what they promised)

    Now, the memes they managed to create are a 10/10

    Why is it positive? **** metacritic is wrong if you put a negative rating, I really need more proof to mention how **** this kind of page is that they suck off whoever pays the most?    … Expand

    this type of game is heavily influenced by the story, this story is so terrible!!! how can you give this 10/10? are you out of your damn mind???? this is so wrong...!!! the characters and story are so bad you just don't even care what happens next because you don't give a damn about them after what happens to Joel..... you just can't defend this game no matter how much you loved the first one.

Looks like Sony got their devoted fans to spam this game with 10s cause it's not allowed to have a bad user score. and since you are here thinking about to defend this game's generic third person game-play that feels like a straight up copy of the tomb-raider reboot, or the story that quite frankly takes cues from saturday morning cartoons for it's attempt to make you sympathise with a killer by making her pet dogs and help people while the main character that tries to avenge her father figure is made to look as bad as the writer was able to by making her kill hundreds of people, some dogs and a pregnant woman. the theme of "revenge bad" is also completely lost since Abby got her revenge on Joel and gets to go home completely scot-free while Ellie stops her revenge at the last second due to a short vision of Joel's dead corpse. how does seeing a vision of your father figure's lifeless and beaten up body make you stop killing the person who made him this way? i honestly don't know, it makes no sense. so yeah Dr. "100 brains" Uckmann is a hack who only got the last of us to work cause Bruce Straley was probably keeping him in check. if you are some schmuck from twitter you would be askin if i would bring up that i liked the first one and that i am disappointed with this gmae. sorry to disappoint you cause i thought the first one was just an alright 7.… Expand

I stayed optimistic after what happened in the beginning Ellie’s first half saved the game it made you forget what happened and made you remember what was great about the first, but why make me play with some one you absolutely hate from the beginning for almost 10hours lose any type of love you had for the game that you gained back from Ellie and then fight the main character you love. I understand they’re trying to make you see her perspective but even that wasn’t enough. It was just running around fighting with an old fling. They introduce you to a character SPOILER that kills one of the most beloved Sony characters(not a problem you have my attention) , but then you make the player take control of the person for 10+ hours of mediocre story plots that is suppose to make you care. I understand where Abby was coming from , but doesn’t mean I want to play as her for a majority of the game . Check this out guys, we went from a sad story that was all about finding hope and meaning in life in a post-apocalyptic world to literal MISERY p0rn where nobody can be happy, except the main antagonist. The story is a basic af 'revenge' plot, where they turn Ellie into a straight up psychopath who only feels remorse in cutscenes for some weird reason while murdering over a HUNDRED of human beings over the course of the game. And when the time for the actual revenge on the only person who ACTUALLY WRONGED YOU and was not somewhat innocent, Abby, they DONT LET YOU KILL HER. They take away the control from the player and don't let you get the satisfaction of murdering the SheHulk. Wow.
    Somewhere on the way there, you witness your father figure be brutally murdered. Later into the game, you are forced to beat the s--- out of Ellie because they force you to control the SheHulk monster called Abby. You have to press buttons and have to win the hand-to-hand combat duel with Ellie. This game breaks my heart. F--- you, Neil who directed this garbage and f--- you, Naughty Dog.    … Expand

In summary, nothing can redeem what they did to Joel and Ellie's characters and the decisions made. Charged with virtue signalling equality of outcome rubbish.

Just terrible. And why do they make you play as Abby fighting Ellie and other protagonists. It’s ok that Jesse died I’m fine with that but no one wants to see Ellie get her **** beat like wtf. Ellie does kinda get revenge but at the end it feels Like your defeated or at least for me it did. Last of us 2 gave me a terrible feeling. Naughty Dog needs to fix this. Somehow.… Expand

I feel like this game betrays the essence of the first last of us game wherein it was all about Joel and Ellie and how they would be able to survive the "apocalypse". This game completely screws over that narrative and turns it into a revenge plot that doesn't make sense. If we were to look back on the first 7 minutes of the original game, we can get a gist of what Joel's character is like when he left a family walking on the street in order to put his family first and the rest of the game was basically that Joel fighting to put his new family first. With this in mind, the scene leading up to Joel's death is disappointing to say the least. As it completely betrays Joel in the first game. Joel being the skeptic he was. Aside from the huge plot holes this game leaves. The game is also dull considering that this game was supposed to be about a zombie apocalypse and not a soap opera. To put it simply the game should be central to the apocalypse and not the revenge plot. If they wanted to put a revenge plot then it would be better if they had put it as a secondary plot point rather than the primary one. Because again this is a zombie apocalypse game.
    The ending was also atrocious. This game is like kill bill if Beatrix Kiddo didn't kill bill. The ending would have been better if Abby was killed off in the end considering that Ellie already killed lots of people to get to her. I mean you have a lot of classic revenge movies and they always kill off the antagonist so then what reason do you not kill off Abby here. It's not as if they were like best friends once or some other dumb reason. Abby was by all means a character that everyone already hates considering that she killed and tortured Joel. Even when naughty dog where to make the player play as Abby to make them sympathize with her, the hatred is still there considering the player played the first game and spent most of their time playing as Joel and thinking like Joel and at the same time sympathizing with his decisions.
    In any case this doesn't feel like a survival game anymore but just another zombie series that gets too political once they can't think of any another direction to take the series. Visuals are great gameplay wise it's good but a bit clunky sometimes and story is just the worse so that pretty much sums up the score and for the critics saying that is a masterpiece then I can honestly say they are right it's a masterpiece of every **** idea that came into a video game. The essence of video games is the fun that comes into it you basically take the fun out and it's not a video game anymore. This game is basically a boring movie that is at least 25 hours long.    … Expand

    The moment the credits rolled after I finished The Last of Us 2, there was only one feeling in my mind, sadness. Sadness of experiencing how one of the most beautiful, if not the best looking video game that I have ever played was ruined by a story that may have had potential, but failed to deliver in every possible way. Sadness of witnessing how an engineering marvel of gaming (graphics,The moment the credits rolled after I finished The Last of Us 2, there was only one feeling in my mind, sadness. Sadness of experiencing how one of the most beautiful, if not the best looking video game that I have ever played was ruined by a story that may have had potential, but failed to deliver in every possible way. Sadness of witnessing how an engineering marvel of gaming (graphics, game physics, AI) left me with so many mixed and bitter emotions. Sadness of listening to Gustavo Santaolalla’s soundtrack and being frustrated with myself for not being able to feel the emotions that he would have wanted me to experience during a specific sequence or for a specific character (with just one notable exception). And it is really sad, because we can all image the hundreds and thousands of hours of effort that people at Naughty Dog put into this game. It is just inconceivable to me how they could forget what made the first game so special. And I really don’t want to judge them for the decisions they made when creating this story. I really don’t. But it just feel to me that, at that first meeting, in that first brainstorming session, someone raised their hand and said “in the end, it’s just a game, right? It’s not that people are here for the story anyways”.

    Gameplay is what you would expect from a naughty dog game, graphics and acting in this game is top notch. However if your continuing from after playing the first game the story will leave a bitter taste which ruins the overall experience.Poor character design and glitches also affected rating.

    I love the game, hate the story. The point of TLOU2 is to continue TLOU1's story, but the second one just straight up replaced the character(s) spotlights onto new ones as if TLOU1 never existed, which what makes the story bad. It's like TLOU2 is a separate game from TLOU1.

I personally believe that this game must have gotten killed by crunch as it heavily feels as though they wanted to change things but were unable to and hodge podged a story together. Playing as Abby does not make you like her, they did not do a good enough job at humanizing this character, simple as that. If they maybe started the game off as Abby it might have been different, giving us her perspective from the start may have helped us like her more but she’s also written to be frankly, unlikable. The emotions you get playing this game are also bland at best. The only thing I ‘felt’ while playing this was anger when Joel died. After that I just felt bored. When the story ends and Abby leaves when Ellie lets her go you don’t feel bitter or angry or sad, you feel nothing. I had to ask myself, what value did I gain from this? I honestly couldn’t answer. If you asked me this question about the original TLOU, I would’ve told you about the love for the characters and their bond. I’m that regard TLOU 2 fails at every single step of the game.… Expand

I feel scammed out of a story that could of been great but was complete dog **** I hate Abby, not cause she trans, but the fact I watched her kill off one of my favorite characters in the game and instead of the game just leaving it at that, it continues to SPIT on me, and I’m forced to play 10 hours of a character, who’s an **** throughout a majority of her play through. And the ending... wtf kind of ending was that, I’m thinking “yes I’m Ellie and now I can avenge Joel by killing Abby” but naw, instead I gotta fight this character in water for like 5 mins and for what?!
