    The next-level giant pet simulator. That's all I could think of while playing the game. If you like pets and don't mind them getting beat up every now and then, then this is the game for you!

    The game is basically ICO, but full of obstacles and basic puzzles that require your giant pet to progress. The variety in puzzles is a little disappointing.     The game is basically ICO, but full of obstacles and basic puzzles that require your giant pet to progress. The variety in puzzles is a little disappointing. They mostly consist of opening doors to get your pet through them, and then after you get your pet through the door, having your pet jump to an area that was previously inaccessible to you. Also disappointing is that there's normally only one way to solve each puzzle. Many are carefully scripted with specific pet actions, so there's not much thinking outside of the box possible here.

    Initially, controlling the pet is annoying. You get some hand signals later on that improve things, but then it just becomes slightly less annoying.

    The story is vague, though less vague than ICO or Shadow of the Colossus. You'll actually get some background story information and closure with this installment. The game goes for an animal friendship theme and does it pretty well, though some people aren't big fans of this type of story.

    Oh, and don't forget the Uncharted moments. There's plenty of impossibly amazing moments in the game, primarily consisting of your giant pet's weight or size breaking bridges or other things and then you just barely escaping though no skill of your own, but because it's a scripted scene. I'm a bit sad that the studio who bought us ICO and Shadow of the Colossus has stooped to this level of dumb storytelling. But hey, kids these days like it.

    So it was an alright game for me. After I got used to the initial pet-controlling annoyance, I ended up completing it in less than 15 hours. And I'm glad it didn't take longer than that.    … Expand

    I've played half of this game till I got stuck/tired so I gave up although I know I could finish it. But because I got this game borrowed I don't care to beat it, although I saw the end in youtube and looks really cool. Graphics, sounds, soundtrack are all really good. Trico, the monster, although it's a mixture of many animals, looks real. Its movements, growlings, everything. But the kid looks like cartoons which it's been made on purpose but I don't quite like it. My main complaint is the puzzle style gameplay. i'm a patient person but I don't like to be around without knowing what to do. I think this game would have been better if they give you some advices or at least give you this option. If they had done that and was a little bit shorter probably would deserve an 8, maybe 8.5 but not more. To sum up, I really understand people who rate this game with a 10 and those who do it with a 0 because first of all, this is not a game for everybody.     Emotivo, sentimental y una experiencia única, pero que no se encuentra a la altura de esta generación a causa de su apartado técnico. Aún así, sigue siendo muy recomendable si lo que buscas es una experiencia única e irrepetible.

    I loved Ico, and i loved SOTC even more than that, and expected the same experience in this game. But i was disappointed. Clunky controls and abysmal camera problems aside, this game didnt pull me in like other two. Just made it to the end to see that so praised ending but disappointed in there too. Its not a bad game, it has good puzzle parts in it but, director raised the bar too highI loved Ico, and i loved SOTC even more than that, and expected the same experience in this game.     Not doubting the strength of the story from reviews I've read, but severely broken controls make this game unplayable for me. Trudged through 5 hours of frustrating gameplay and don't see myself going back.

    Performance is horrible. Average of 15-20 FPS on a fat model with drops to 10, and the game doesn’t even look fantastic. Two years earlier, The Last of Us Remastered, looks on par or better, runs steady 50-60 FPS.     Speaking of which, this game suffers from the same problem as Uncharted the original. The surroundings are hardly varying as you go by. Unless you enjoy mossy ruins very much, you’ll get bored pretty soon.

    Although, Uncharted the original had some chatacter interaction to make you stick around. In this game, there’s no story. There are a few cutscenes that don’t explain pretty much anything. You don’t know who your character is, why is he here, where is "here", where are you going, who are you fighting. Nothing.

    Yes, there is this cat-like creature from the cover picture, Trico, and there’re relations between it and the Boy (yes, this is officially protagonist’s name), but again - no idea who this creature is or why is it here or where is here. It’s really hard to identify or connect with someone or something you know nothing about, no matter how cute they appear to be.

    Enough has already been said about controls. I spent far more time struggling with Trico to make it do what I want that acctually solving the puzzles. Infuriating, that’s the word.

    Oh, the puzzles... there is one - no spoilers - that you cannot possibly solve on your own unless you are super patient or super stubborn.

    The last straw for me was the bug. There’s one place when you need Trico to dive, and it just won’t. It would dive and turn around and surface back again. I googled it, a lot of people had this bug too. And something broke inside of me. I felt that I’m not going to fight with this game anymore. I wasn’t emotionally invested enough to suffer much longer. So I dropped it. I never dropped a game before.

    No one should ever release, or sell, or play games of such horrendous execution quality.    … Expand

    Cojo con reticencia los juegos de Ueda porque suelen tener unos controles con los que no suelo encajar y en este título me ocurió lo mismo. Acabe de culo con Shadows Of the Colossus por este motivo e intuía que me iba a pasar igual.     The monster is an innovative concept but is not executed well enough. I felt like I was wasting a lot of time standing around waiting for it to do what I needed it to do.     The atmosphere, environments, and the story are where most of the 5 star reviews seem to be coming from. These facets of the game are indeed excellent, but unlike the five-star reviewers I cannot look past the frustration of the controls and the camera angles.

    If you can tolerate the frustrations outlined above, then you will have found yourself a very interesting game. Otherwise, it might be best avoided.    … Expand

    A beautiful minimalistic game with superb artistic detail. The only problem is that this masterpiece cannot be fully enjoyed due to the horrible camera and game physics. Presently, one cannot be fully amazed by how rare it is to complain about camera issues in present day games.

By the way, I fell in love with Trico so much that I didn't finish the game. I know (s)he is supposed to live, but I just couldn't see him/herIt could and should have been a masterpiece.     The "trilogy" of Fumito and Team Ico ends with a title that seems to take references and mechanics of the two titles that precede it (Shadow of the Colossus and Ico, PS2), creating a good combination in the gameplay, in fact it feels something very fresh and fun, with a plot, which as always, leaves many doubts, theories and details that seem to be left to the interpretation of the player.The "trilogy" of Fumito and Team Ico ends with a title that seems to take references and mechanics of the two titles that precede it (Shadow of the Colossus and Ico, PS2), creating a good combination in the gameplay, in fact it feels something very fresh and fun, with a plot, which as always, leaves many doubts, theories and details that seem to be left to the interpretation of the player.     While the story is incredible and the atmosphere is also amazing, the game is highly impacted by the low and inconsistent fps rate and the clunky controls and camera movement. The graphics are okay, but the problems i mentioned really weight down on how much fun you'll have with this game. In my opinion, it's disappointing really how a game that took 7 years to make can run so poorly on a ps4,

    Terrible camera and terrible AI, the rest is pretty good but nothing revolutionary, maybe if it came out on the PS3. The trophies for the game are exceptionally dumb and annoying and will ruin any enjoyment of the game, good visuals and story but has a lot of issues.

    The ending leads to some real reflections on the relationships we form. For the gameplay alone it is worth taking this cinematic journey as a young boy who makes an unlikely friend.     Estamos ante un juego que dura alrededor de 12 como mucho 13 horas, corta duración a mi parecer, después de 10 años de desarrollo. El título cuenta la historia de un niño y su relación con una bestia alada llamada Trico, con un diseño muy bueno y unos gráficos ligeramente mejorables ( correctos ).     Impressive game the first half but then you start to see it flaws. For example Trico(the monster) behaves erratically sometimes and makes you think that it cannot do one thing but then it does. Very confusing

    Good looking game with great narration. Maybe just not the kind of game I enjoy, but I found it overly slow and after giving it a couple of hours gave up and uninstalled it.

    Nice story, but the worst gameplay experience ever. Camera sucks, Trico is not listnening most of the gameplay time. Trophies like All talked out are out of my mind.

    Very over hyped after almost 10 years in development. Story was just OK. Game had many technical issues at launch. Game play was fairly boring. The AI and cooperation of Trico was sometimes frustrating. Graphics were amazing and the fantasy element was nice.

    It is undeniable on the    Is The Last Guardian worth of your time, especially in comparison to the rest of the games on PS4? Yes, absolutely. Is it a good videogame? Maybe not as much.     It is undeniable on the other hand that TLG is a masterpiece of companionship and one of the most unique games ever made. All in the usual Fumito Ueda presentation and approach to a plot that will keep you entertained well after the console is switched off.
    All sums up to a great experience, with playability pitfalls that could lead you to abandon Trico. Use your patience, it is totally worth it.    … Expand

    Игра не для всех из за специфического управления, но это моя самая любимая игра. 12 из 10 Волшебство. Магия. С кем-то сработает, а с кем-то нет. Жаль что пропустил коллекционку. Жду дальнейших работ Ф.Уеды. и ремастеред ICO.

    A wonderful and warming story, full of little details of world building and nice but sometimes too easy puzzles.

    You have to learn and struggle with controls but it works as intended you'll get used as Trico gets used to you. An amazing experience for anyone and a must for Team ICO fans.

    Los juegos de Fumito son una delicia. Juega en otra liga. Amo a Trico. Aun así, se me hizo bola en algunos momento. Culpa mía porque no soy de puzzles. Y en este juego va de eso. La IA de Trico también juega en otra liga.

    Bad game, good story, but awful gameplay. Don’t play it. The controls are terrible and not even the developers care to make it a little better. Played on ps5 and ps4.

Игра полна мистицизма, сначала вообще ничего не понимаешь, а потом всё собирается воедино и эпическая концовка выбивает из тебя все эмоции, слёзы и душу. Must have! 10/10Одна из лучших игр для меня.     I love The Last Guardian and I'm one of the "weirdos" that liked ICO over Shadow of the Colossus .     Cool concept and story, great animations, and visually very artistic and impactful but the most clunky gameplay I have ever seen in gaming history. This game should have been 4-5 hours, but it took 10-11 because of the bad mechanics. This game is an insult to your time.     This game gave me a lot of mistrust, the wait was so long. When playing it, the generation change was noticed and graphically it looks old, but wow! when a game is capable of moving feelings in you, it is art, and this is the case, highly recommended !!

Probably should have cut down on some of the swaying effects. This is what really hurts the game a notch for me and I really don't have high standards on visuals at all.

    But, it's story and gameplay kept me interested from start to finish, even though some puzzles needed a bit of help from the internet. This is all and all a fantastic game, if you are ok with slow pace and don't need high powered visuals. Be sure to watch the real hidden ending, not knowing about it almost got me and had me disappointed at first quite a bit.    … Expand

    This game's has the same camera and gameplay issues likewise entire Ico series but the relationship of yourself and the creature's awesome!

    Quand il faut ajouter à cette misère la caméra absolument épouvantable qui fait n’importe quoi (elle tourne dans tous les sens lorsqu’on grimpe ou on descend, elle zoome et dézoome… elle est soûle, cette caméra !) et dans certaines phases de plateformes, elle se bloque inopinément et vous empêche de pouvoir tout regarder sur les côtés par exemple…!

    Enfin, les énigmes régulières laissent perplexes et aucune aide, aucun indice ne sont disponibles… Vu que le jeu est un étron technique qui fatigue énormément, on se lasse de chercher une quelconque solution assez vite.     Despite this, we don't have time to feel alone, Trico's presence is soon noticed and we get used to exploring the scenery with the creature, solving puzzles and eventual combats.

    The game as a whole remains with the same quality as its predecessors with a good soundtrack and beautiful graphics although dated, all of this serving to place us in yet another of Fumito Ueda's Fabulas where we are experiencing a cut in time not a complete narrative.

    This added to Trico's AI that can perfectly emulate a domestic animal, sometimes petting sometimes stubborn creates unique moments that are the strongest point of the game.
    However this doesn't erase the somewhat dragging rhythm, repetitive puzzles and camera and gameplay failures, I recommend this game mainly for ICO Fans, for those who don't know the series or just played SOTC, wait for a slower game that hits a lot in its core mechanics but it is weak in the rest.    … Expand

    Nos entregan básicamente un juego de plataformas y resolución de puzzles, en el que tendremos que llevar a los dos protagonistas; un niño desconocido y un enorme animal mitológico que nos puede recordar a un grifo, desde una profunda mazmorra a un destino incierto, tratando de salir del extraño lugar donde estamos confinados; una extraña y titánica fortaleza en ruinas incrustada en una montaña.

    Los puntos fuertes del juego son sin duda su historia, la fuerte carga emocional de la misma y el impresionante diseño artísitico, como no podía ser de otro modo. La ambientación es de 10 rotundo y sin discusión, como así lo son los escenarios y los puzzles.

    Tiene entonces algún problema el juego? Por desgracia sí y es importante: La imprecisión del control, dentro de lo que se puede englobar lo difícil que puede ser a veces ordenar a nuestro compañero animal que haga ciertas cosas. Las indicaciones en ese caso del juego son muy escuetas, pretende que la interacción con el enorme animal sea lo más realista posible, apoyándose en una I.A. muy acertada, ojo, pero a veces un poco desesperante. Y el control del propio niño es de la misma manera impreciso, de tal manera que puede que por culpa de ello te encuentres con la muerte en alguna ocasión, gritándole a la pantalla "yo no he hecho eso, no te he ordenado saltar ahi!!".

    Quitando este inconveniente, el juego es maravilloso, la historia de fantasía y amistad que nos propone, los preciosos y devastados escenarios marca de la casa (imposible no mirar atrás y recordar shadow of the colossus e Ico) son sin duda ya historia de los videojuegos.     Poor controls alone make this nearly unplayable. AI that takes 30 seconds and dozens of button clicks to work, frustrating parts that don't feel play tested at all.

    Definitely visually nice, but way too many issues to be enjoyable.

    What i did not enjoy 100% on SoC was the controls. That fever seemed to have cathed on into this game. Its a bit rubbery and slow, and the camera plays drunken tricks on you.
    But they are not critically bad as you might think, but they are the reason why i drop a point of the score.
    The story is magnificent. And its here why you should play the game. You play a little boy who wakes up in a cave together with a large lion/bird hybrid fable animal you call Trico. The progression of the games tells you the bond of this boy and the beast as they closely bond tighter as they venture.
    As the boy, you must use Trico to reach unreachable areas. You must feed him, help him, and tend to him if he gets wounded.
    You learn a few tricks to communicate with Trico as you go, like issuing commands as direction and jump.
    Basically you are going somewhere to unravel the mystery of Trico and why you ended up with him. But no spoilers here.. The story is a heartwarming tale of friendship and trust.

    The game shares the minimalistic content as SoC. It´s focused to your mission with very little distraction to do other things. You solve puzzles continuously in your journey and often comes into battle with foes as well. As much as the maps go, its a more exciting world than SoC. Instead of a large flat world where you go from east to west, in TLG you are going one way.. Up. That means massive towers, and there are som very gut-wrenching areas to traverse.

    To sum it up. TLG was worth the wait. The story is long enough to keep you busy for 2-3 days.
    It´s BEST played on a large TV.

    I cannot say that it was an incredible journey and a heartbreaking story. Sometimes it was cute and nice, sometimes it was thrilling, but in common I didn't find that deepness, which authors put in this game.

    For me the whole world of the game, it's atmosphere were empty and not very interesting. Music played a big role in this, or rather its absence. There is just silence in most parts    I cannot say that it was an incredible journey and a heartbreaking story. Sometimes it was cute and nice, sometimes it was thrilling, but in common I didn't find that deepness, which authors put in this game.

    For me the whole world of the game, it's atmosphere were empty and not very interesting. Music played a big role in this, or rather its absence. There is just silence in most parts of the game, but the good soundtrack could save the situation, in some cutscenes there are some strange sounds which are awful.
    The game is too Japanese maybe in all its forms, I think.

    Technically the game is also horrible, it looks disgusting, it plays bad. The controlling of the beast is impossible, to the end of the game I often became angry on Trico because of it's actions and moves.

    I played it within a week and it was stunning. The interaction with Trico was sometimes challenging, but the bond established between the boy (main character) and Trico during the play through was charming. Usually its not the kind of game I prefer to play, but I gave it a try and afterwards I have to say its the most engaging game I ever played within 25 years of gaming.     Word to discribe the game: Unique.
    Its not a masterpiece but is a very enjoyable experience, frustrating sometimes but that frustration pays off in the end.
    Everyone should try it.
    However it might not be suitable for every type of gamer.
    The sense of scale is the best that i experienced in all the games that ive played.

    By far one of the best games I have ever played. It was much more than a video game. It is a piece of art. Yes the controls and getting Trico to follow you can be frustrating at times. But most of that is early in the game and it gets better as you move on. Just like if you were to have a real pet in my opinion. The story is so rewarding and worth your investment.     A beautiful game, not for action players, but it deserves all the effort. The camera has a problem and I would like it to have photo mode but its history and world is really beautiful

Me were also pleased with the spectacular destruction in the action scenes.

    это второе произведение Уэды которое я попробовал, и эта "игра" мне запала в душу больше чем Колоссы, видимо моя любовь к животным сделал своё, поведение Трико выше всяких похвал, браво!

    Very good Ai Trico ,very good minimalist narrative like Ico and Shadow of the Colossus ,,graphic is art ,this is not boring Uncharted with no soul ,The last Guardian is pure art and soul games.

    This game is beautiful, and of a huge sensitivity. It has problems in the mechanics that border to very serious. But just letting me cry for hours after the end, not a sad but beautiful memory, lets me know that even if the controls don't respond well, the experience paid off.

    After 7 years in what seems to be development hell, Team Ico finally introduces us to the majestic Trico and its heartfelt relationship with a young protagonist. While the long development cycle does show its age in certain parts up to a point of some frustration. The experience as a whole is one of the most unique ever.

    The Last Guardian doesn't just live up to its forebears' legacy, it goes further. Despite the callbacks to Fumito Ueda's previous works, it is a unique creation. Outside of indie experiments, we don't get to say that about modern videogames often enough.
