Microtransactions, corporate greed, dishonest marketing, and loot boxes. There is only so much a customer can take until they can't take any more.

It's time to stop! where the **** are your parents? im gonna call child protective services!

A 60 buck game with microtransactions (that work as a gambling system through lootboxes, dont buy this one or the industry will get worse.
    EA ruined this franchise =/

Micro-transactions and loot boxes have to disappear. They're are ruining the games industry.
The retail price needs to be enough for the experience.

But I'm still in the position of not buying this game until they officially announce that there will not be microtransactions and loot boxes. I bet that once the gamers start buying the game they will bring back the micro-transactions. If you like gaming and want to make the lootboxes and microtransactions dissappear "DO NOT BUY THE GAME"

Not even worth buying really. Buggy, too expensive for the transaction model, not worth till EA fixes, or makes it F2P. Campaign is not so fun, multiplayer is a joke unless you're rich.

What happened to the games industry? I remember getting whole new games as free content with half life patches back in the day. Suddenly Richochet, DMC and CS were all game modes with full features multiplayer content - all part and parcel of paying what was just £29 for the base game.

Now we have to pay to even get the full experience - nevermind future game modes, maps, etc. I'm an

Don't fall for the EA pr bs. Do not buy this game. The microtransactions will be back very soon after all the idiots go out and buy it. Pay to win in a $60 game is despicable.

Gambling and micro-transactions are only gone temporarily. They will return. And they will destroy the gaming industry.
DO NOT BUY THE GAME. PLEASE. WE NEED THIS TO FINANCIALLY HURT THEM. THIS HAS GONE ON FOR FAR TO LONG.

    Cheers.

Pay to Win microtransactions ruined it for me. Plus their PR team swooped in with an empty apology and even said they would bring back the loot boxes eventually anyway.

They added micro transactions and made it pay to win then bought re-spawn entertainment, It really sucks that they did this to a franchise like Battlefront, Companies really don't care about treating franchises like these with respect and milk it away like any other product

Even though this game looks good with some decent game play DO NOT BUY IT. No ... not even if you are a huge Star Wars fan; or especially then because EA will just continue screwing a gaming franchise you love.

The loot box and "progression system" borders on predatory with how it pushes you towards micro transactions and pay to win elements. Essentially they want you to continue paying ridiculous amounts of money long after you bought the game + potential dlc later along the way.
Even seeing past this extremely customer unfriendly practice there is still the fact that in 2 years they could just turn off the server. So even if you spend 1000 Dollar + they might just be voided in a very short time. Why not allow people to run their own servers? Probably so you can sell them the next game and start the circle anew.

I repeat. DO NOT BUY this game. If you do, you are part of the problem. If you can live with all these negative elements then that is of course your choice, but complaining and then still buying it, will do nothing and effectively damage the game industry overall. You have power as a consumer and as a gamer. The power to say no and stand by it. The power to hopefully change the direction gaming companies like EA are taking and avoid ruining potentially great franchises in the future.

I've been reading reviews in metacritic for years, but this is the first time i created an account, i just want to encourage people to NOT BUY THIS GAME!, doesn't matter how big Star Wars fan you are, we need to unite, we have the power to end this.

Please, if you consider yourself a true gamer do not support this game.

The crritics who reviewed this game positively should be embarassed of themselves. This game is purely a cash grab. You want to be competitive in this game spend real money, or give up your life. Enjoy the single player campaign, its only about 4 hours long, but I am sure thats worth $60.

Injecting gambling to warp the minds of consumers, and create less of a story for them and more of an addiction deserves a very low score. Thus, the 0.

This game is great for millonaires, just pay 2,100 and you'll get all the content!

The decision from EA to have a game based around loot boxes and making it so that you must spend money in order to have an advantage against other players is disgusting.

Pay2win, gambling micro transactions, more micro transactions, did i mention micro transactions? With all the micro transaction stuff aside I still wouldn't recommend this game. Campaign is below average and it's a below average fps shooter. Also, If you feel like you got ripped off on Star Wars Battlefront 1 then prepare to get ripped off again. We need to stop this vile threat. The pay to win mechanic means if you dont fork out hundreds of dollars ontop of this $60 purchase price, you are going to be stomped by moma's credit card.
This is an buggy pay2win free2play game, with all of the worst free2play tactics, at a premium price tag.

don't let this sh*t become the future of games. If we let this pass more and more companies will decide to go this way. We really need to stop this here and don't buy. Just don't buy. Enough great games out there. Please just ignore this one for a better future.

Like an idiot, I pre-ordered the FIRST Star Wars Battlefront. The game was so bad I burned it.
I am one of those people who actually refused to buy the next (this) Battlefront, knowing full well it would also be awful.

Na we just think its greedy to make a game P2W when its being sold full price by a triple a developer that just wants to milk money from people. To those who reviewed 10 to bring up the user score, you're one review is getting hammered by massive groups of people who want change in the gaming industry while you guys are completely fine with paying 100+ or 500+ on loot boxes for random loot you might already have to get a feel of satisfaction or a sense of accomplishment by being better than a person who bought just the base game but the truth is, you're not.

Those who support EA and other developers that are doing blatant P2W or charging more for content that should have already been added in the base game is apart of the problem. It's your money and you can use it however you wish but stop acting like paying for more stuff is some sort of accomplishment and its something to be proud of. Let me remind you of what you're getting, virtual items. They don't translate into the real world and that isn't something you can put on your resume.

EA is the worst offender of the bunch they make Activision look like Respawn, you want to keep acting like you're a superior person because you forked over hundreds of dollars into a game for a virtual item you might never get? knock yourself out but keep quiet when real gamers are trying to push for meaningful and actual change.

Star Wars Battlefront II provides a greater ambition than the previous installment. It has powerful war scenes, a brand new single player mode, and shows a much more magnificent Star Wars Universe. But just like the Jedi should be ware of the dark side of the Force, this game also meets some similar situations, such as beleaguered microtransaction elements and character growth problems. The first 10 hours of this game is full of surprises; however, the further you play this game, the more disappointed you will get.
