    I totally understand the overwhelmingly negative reviews, what was released was such a massive dumpster fire that it really should have been delayed to give them time to change the progression system. But a lot has changed since launch, the pay to win system that came with the game at launch is gone. For me I always had faith that they could fix this game, the loot box crap was messed up but the overall gameplay and the multiplayer at launch was extremely fun and still is today. I find myself still playing it now, this game still isn't perfect but, I would recommend this game to anyone looking for a fun multiplayer shooter and I highly encourage anyone who already bought this game and stopped because of the pay to win system to jump back in and give it another try.… Expand

    The Game has many good Sides. Fantastic Star Wars Atmosphere and good Gameplay. After several Patches now you can have a lot of Fun with it. Microtransaction are now Cosmetic only.
    Just look some new Gameplay Videos if you are unsure.
    Just have fun!

    Besides the microtransactions controversy, the single player mode with the free DLC is very good. Nice story, a little too short but nice graphs and concept.

    Dear all. The game is now one year on from release and the huge disappointing boxes and overall game. I like other pre-ordered the game and didn't play it after a few weeks,....... until last week. The amount that the game has improved since those days is unbelievable. Not just additional content (greivious, Kenobi, crait, geonosis, ewok hunt, extraction) but as well as core gameplayDear all.     There are still a quite a few bugs which need fixing, mostly on heroes, but nothing major.

    Campaign is OK at best, it was not the best campaign I have ever played but most certainly not the worst. The multiplayer is pretty good which is the main reason this game is a 8/10 to me.

    Star Wars Battlefront II has a variety of fun game modes and heroes, which span different Star Wars eras. The game has been drastically improved with a good progression system and often released free new content. The game has no pay to win elements and all microtransactions are for cosmetics.

    Star Wars Battlefront II is the game every Star Wars fan has to play. No matter if you prefer to play as the Millennium Falcon and the iconic ships, or as Darth Vader; or even as clone of the Republic. This game has it all.
    The amount of content it has is woth the price. Test it.

These include new maps and characters to use in competitive game modes,improved UI and an expansion (of about 3 missions) to the campaign mode.All this and even more to come,including features from the original Battlefront 2 released around a decade and a half ago.The game will have finally surpassed its predecessors,2 years into its release. There are some glaring issues though: a buggy campaign with dreadful AI,redeemed partially by some fairly interesting characters and set-pieces. Most problematic of all are the predatory 'lootbox' mechanics that have since been removed but have tarnished this games reputation; this has become an expectation of games released by EA and so its up to personal perspective whether buying this game is feeding the culture of underhanded business practices in triple A games.

    My final verdict is that this games competitive game modes in both multiplayer and single-player are amazing,especially with the regular free updates but the campaign is downright broken and also there is the question of whether making a game better than its 15 year old predecessor 2 years into its lifespan is a practice you want to support.Its worth considering, that not only did this progress take 2 years but it may not have happened without people making in-game purchases at the rate they did in 2017. Had they implemented the same predatory systems but to a smaller degree, as other games do regularly, would they have still given fans all the new free content?    … Expand

    If people were to look past the whole loot box fiasco, yes that was all EA and EA would monetize air if they could but the thing is DICE never wanted to do it in the first place, they had to in order to make the game. Now let's get past that, the game now has been incredible. Me being a Star Wars fan this game has came from hell and back to regain reputation.

    One thing is the addition of my favorite season the Clone Wars. which added Obi-Wan/Grievous/Dooku/Anakin and even the clone commando! along with others of course. The addition of capital supremacy was amazing. Honestly I think its better than the original and that's coming from a guy who creamed over that game. Now the only thing I have against the game right now would be the story. Yeah kinda lack luster protagonist and we all wish that they could just re-create the old battlefront story but that isn't possible due to Disney annexing it from cannon.
    Please if you ever get the chance, re-play the game with all the updates and you won't be as disappointed as you were 2 years ago.    … Expand

    The game had a really rough star but since release I have max ranked the game on both consoles and if you was to play the game now it feels like a entirely different game. So many Maps and Heroes and Units not to mention game modes have been added since release and all for FREE not a lootbox in sight either!     Great graphics, sound design and a variety of game modes to play with an ok campaign. One of my favourite multiplayer games this generation, massively improved since launch.

    One of the biggest turnarounds in gaming history. No longer pay to win, but play to win. It has recovered tremendously from its AWFUL launch in 2017. Better than the 2004, and 2015 battlefront. Still think the 2005 one is the best as it does: Galactic conquest, hunt and the campaign superiorly to 2017. Has a boring a bland campaign. Some offline content.     Ok Yes at the start the game was bad and filled with terrible micro transactions but now the game is really good. you can play as so many characters from the Prequels, the original trilogy and The sequel trilogy. multiplayer is really fun lots of fun new game modes and awesome heroes and villains.     this game I remembered that it was slaughtered, so I passed away, I had never played anything from Star Wars but I always wanted to.
    Now with Plus, I was able to play the game without having to pay a high price, and I went without many expectations.

    Игра шикарна в плане графики. Но Данат всё портит. Да кейсов больше нет но остались кристаллы. Из за всего этого появился диз баланс.

    Очень хочу чтобы в 3 части Даната не было но это не возможно. Жаль.

    Had one of the worst launches in history, plagued with loot boxes and not nearly enough content, but then Dice managed to redeem it by remaking the whole progression system, getting rid of loot boxes, and adding a ton of free content. The graphics were always really nice and the maps look amazing but the campaign isn't really good. If you're a Star Wars fan I would recommend it.

If it happened or not? Well I think it did, but I'll never know. Anyway, onto the review:

    After the lackluster Battlefront 2015, EA brought us this game which improved in almost every single way. Especially gameplay and content wise. We have all eras represented with a phenomenal audiovisual fidelity. New content was added for free (still weird to say that out loud lol) for more than two years. That included new maps, heroes, reinforcements, skins, game modes and more. Also, communication with the dev team improved considerably and this was crucial for this game's turn around.
    I was a fan of the original BFII and stayed away from this game for as long as I could, but I could not resist checking it out after I saw gameplay and new Clone Wars content coming to this game. They even brought the voice actors from the series to voice the characters. As a result, the game feels like a very authentic Star Wars experience well worth the Star Wars name. Sound design, graphics and presentation all give that Star Wars feeling that we always wanted the new movies to have. Heck, even the sequel trilogy looks good on this game. Playing as the Sith Trooper is awesome!

    Now, this still isn't a perfect game, so let's talk about the flaws:
    This is mainly a multiplayer game, so don't expect too much from single player content. The campaign is very iffy, with a weak and predictable plot. It has its moments, but it never achieves anything great. There's also Arcade and Instant Action, which are nice but some maps that are available on multiplayer matches aren't available offline for some dumb reason.
    Some multiplayer modes are lacking too. As an example, the last update, that included the Original Trilogy maps to Supremacy (think Conquest mode from the old BFII, but with capital ships added), does not include the capital ships and that limits gameplay for this era, making it inferior to Clone Wars and Sequel eras.
    Also, bugs. Oh God, there is a lot of bugs. Matchmaking sometimes go completely goes awry, force abilities can sometimes make your character shake like crazy and some heroes are almost outright broken. During the content seasons the developers constantly introduced new bugs, broke heroes and made unnecessary buffs/nerfs to troopers and reinforcements. Now that the game is not updated anymore, we have Grievous and Darth Vader as killing machines, Anakin with an ability thats basically a suicide button and Chewbacca just... unusable in almost every game mode. Other heroes are fine, tho.

    This game is discounted most of the time, so it won't even be a big of an investment. Oh, by the way, if you like to unlock skins and cosmetics by your own, stick with the regular edition. EA recently launched a Celebration Edition, but the only difference is that it has all the skins unlocked by default.

    So, that is it. Don't let the controversy this game had at launch cloud your judgement. If you are a fan of Star Wars, this is the game you are looking for. The servers are very active and you will find fun matches all the time, even with all the flaws.    … Expand

    The story was entertaining and enjoyable. I am not a star wars fan, so can not comment how it relates to the overall franchise. But as a stand-alone title it is good.
    Lots of weapon variety with various challenge levels. For many encounters, you have the opportunity to engage via stealth or go all out. Some missions, the    I really enjoyed the single player campaign with great visuals.

    Star Wars Battlefront II provides a greater ambition than the previous installment. It has powerful war scenes, a brand new single player mode, and shows a much more magnificent Star Wars Universe. But just like the Jedi should be ware of the dark side of the Force, this game also meets some similar situations, such as beleaguered microtransaction elements and character growth problems. The first 10 hours of this game is full of surprises; however, the further you play this game, the more disappointed you will get.
