This is a ridiculous game. Not because of graphics, or gameplay, but for EA's decision to include microtransactions on it. It is disgusting and a shame for the Star Wars franchise #RIPLUCASARTS

When its multiplayer I want to play against, other players in a somewhat level playing field. What I do not want, and I never will, is to be forced tolearn some in game economics to understand loads of different currencies. Just to get some basic stuff.

Jesus what a mess this game is. Like the third rate mobile games my kids sometimes stumbles upon on their mobiles, and I instantly stear them away from. Crystals, credits, star cards, loot boxes.
I dont want to have to understand that crap. I really dont. One currency is fine, but three? And next game its new crystals or gems or whatever just in different colors. Its childish and breaks immersion. Every single time. My god! Is it a casino or a shooter?

Keep it simple, and keep it fair. It cannot be that hard. And it isnt. This is just from greed. I honestly think greed is killing the AAA gaming industry one franchise at the time. In the long run that probably is bad for the share-holders of the companies as well. Not just gamers.

Stay away from this game people. Things need to change or we will be stuck with slot machines and cards in every single game, genre, time period and from all developers for all times to come.

Microtransactions galore. Loot boxes encourage your kid to spend additional money. This is a money grabbing attempt by EA. If you dont want your kids spending $2,000 on your credit cards dont buy this gambling emulator.

This does not deserve to be called a classic video game. A more accurate name for this thing is direct deposit into the EA company s account. Not to mention its a gambling system and all of this simply doesn't make up for how "spectacular" the game play might be its utter garbage through an through.

The entire game is designed to suck dry anyone with a gambling addiction and the game FREAKING TARGETS CHILDREN EXPOSING THEM TO GAMBLING!!!!! Avoid this game like it is the plague because if you want to do anything in this game you are going to easily be forced to pay well over $400 to make any significant progress or play over 1 year of straight gameplay without turning it off or including losing screens or menus. I highly recommend that you DO NOT BUY THIS GAME AT ALL COSTS. This can not be allowed to continue or happen in the future. Expand

EA are a low bunch of grubs trying to profit of parents when they have already paid there hard earned money for this product. This game really is in a galaxy far far away for me.

The difference is that here, you get to pay 60 dollars for a luke-warm experience obviously catered to give you just a taste of the good stuff and then force you to pay a premium for the rest. As a game, it's OK. Another Battlefield game in the post Call of Duty for era of gaming. There was a time when every single AAA video game wasn't trying to be a movie, and, in that particular space of the industry, the games were better 10, 15, 20 years ago. Nothing justifies this craven, disrespectful and blatant manipulation of a franchise that millions of people hold dear along with their childhood memories.

I hope EA is cursed to win worst company in America year after year after year. It would seem that they didn't learn the first two times. This company does not want to give a good product in good faith, they want to make it and sell it to you in disparate pieces. Holding a carrot on a stick like this is the capitalist equivalent of an abusive spouse. When they screw up badly enough, they'll play nice for a month or two, but when they sense any comfort, they'll be stealing money out of your wallet for another "special massage" from some girl named Sha-Dynasty. Respect yourself and don't buy any of their products.

The entire blind loot box experience can be compared 1 to 1 with a modern day slot machine in its application of addiction creating and reinforcing psychological techniques: the flashy spectacle and visuals that entertain the player, the obfuscated odds that change without warning, the false wins, and free rolls to trigger dopamine release and continue a perpetual cycle. They can use your playing habits to analyze how frustrated they can make you before you quit and give you a bone right before you do to keep you playing; repeat for as long as possible to give more opportunities for you to spend. This is why slots are the biggest money maker in casinos, and why these greedy parasites are trying to copy them for video games.

It's also the definition of pay to win. The supertrooper elite bundle straight up makes you the best thing on 2 legs for the foreseeable future because you've got a massive head start (especially now that micro-transactions were disabled). Gear/power based progression has zero place in a competitive multiplayer game. I don't stop playing StarCraft for 3 weeks to come back and get pwned by people who have permanently levelled up their damage or gotten abilities I don't have access to yet.

Sorry EA, but the defence that "it's not gambling because you always get something out of a loot box" is complete horse crap because a slot machine that pays out less than you put in on every play is still gambling. If it looks like a duck, and acts like a duck, it's a duck.

Lets also not forget that the single player campaign is hugely buggy, and unfinished. They are withholding the ending of the campaign until The Last Jedi releases to prevent spoilers... which begs the question of why they didn't just wait to release the complete game for the holidays instead.

If we have to sacrifice Star Wars on the altar of common decency then so be it. This game needs to fail hard to send a message to the entire industry that these disgusting practices will not be permitted to continue. That's coming from a lifelong Star Wars fan that owns basically every Star Wars book ever written.

As a family focused company, Disney needs to revoke EA's license (or at the very least the exclusivity clause) so we can see someone with actual ethics and love for the IP and its community make a game actually worth supporting.

I don't think I can stand more of this garbage for 7 more years.

the way the micro-transactions operate is incredibly similiar to a 'skinner-box'. skinner was a psychologist whom did alot of research into behavior. they basicly (ab)used this knowledge to maximize profit without caring about the mental health or financial well-being of their customer's. i highly recommend to read more about the research done by the aforementioned psychologist so you can make an informed decision on what kind of games to buy since these practice's seem to become more and prevalent in video-games.

    now to talk about the game itself;

it's an upgrades version of battlefront(2015) in which it does alot of things better gameplay wise, and its graphic fidelity is also very pleasing to the eye's. i personally had a great time playing the beta, i especially liked that they included space-battle's and a campaign!
but even though i enjoyed the game and i am a huge star wars nerd i wont buy this game.

the fact that disney, a company which develops products mostly around children. actually green-light such a harmfull feature to be implemented in a game which revolve's around their intellectual property is absolutely shamefull!

Star Wars Battlefront II provides a greater ambition than the previous installment. It has powerful war scenes, a brand new single player mode, and shows a much more magnificent Star Wars Universe. But just like the Jedi should be ware of the dark side of the Force, this game also meets some similar situations, such as beleaguered microtransaction elements and character growth problems. The first 10 hours of this game is full of surprises; however, the further you play this game, the more disappointed you will get.
