I've played the PC version since it's original beta and the console release is a buggy, incomplete mess - just like the PC release was. There's lots of good content, but there's also huge junks of the gameplay missing as well, and a ridiculous amount of glitches and bugs.Basic features either are not there or don't function correctly. Space combat is wonderful, the UI works beautifully.I've played the PC version since it's original beta and the console release is a buggy, incomplete mess - just like the PC release was. Space combat is wonderful, the UI works beautifully. But they need to fix things like camera distance and angles, they worked correctly for me for only 2 hours then glitched and have been stuck at very awkward and unusable angles ever since, no matter what I do.

All in all, hugely disappointing, and that's from an STO fan.

The game is unfortunately very buggy. Lots of attention to detail in terms of the story archs. Unfortunately presentation is lacking. Space combat id fair but ground combat is hilarious. Just standing there and shooting your lasers in open.....The game is fun for about 5 to 6 hours. After that even though the stories are different, the mechanics are exactly the same.

Space combat is fun for 10 minutes or so though, but the rest, such as on foot combat, or character animations are just hilariously mediocre. Still, game is free (ish), so give it a go, just don't expect a Mass Effect sort of space opera.

I've enjoyed it so far a lot of nostalgia for star trek fans can be found here. It feels a bit dated though and needs more voice acting. It's not really an mmo as I've seen just single player missions. Relatively good game overall though.

A great port to the ps4 from PC but the PC version has much better gameplay.
Still good but better on PC. SERIOUSY get the PC version

There's a lot to like about Star Trek Online, even for players who aren't hardcore Star Trek fans or crazy people like me, but it does ask to be put up with to a certain extent. As for the console versions, it's also not all there yet, almost literally. At the same time, it's hard to name a more overtly generous free-to-play title on the current market, and it's worth a shot, for both Trek devotees and the merely Warp-curious.

Star Trek Online is a game that casual and dedicated Star Trek fans should check out. While it doesn’t beat out Neverwinter as far as mechanics goes, it allows players to inhabit a fascinating facsimile of the universe, exploring, undertaking complex missions and always boldly going forward (because we can’t find reverse).

This is one of those games that could use a little more time in the oven.
