    A really good remake of the classic game. They didn't change much from the core gameplay [which I personally love] - and the small snippets of cut content add some nice small differences to the core story

    This game is what I live to see. One of my most anticipated games in the second quarter. A revisit to a cult classic to me at least left nothing back and gave me what I needed in 2020. Much love to everyone who worked on this absolute gem

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I cannot understand why IGN, Gamespot and many more give the game like 5/10 or even 2/10 because it delivers everything it was supposed to. It's a complete remake of the original from 2003 and it still has its old charm. I completed it at 100% and I don't regret anything while playing (so I don't felt like wasting time playing this and stuff like that). Surely the graphics aren't the best but I mean it's Spongebob and not GTA or The Last of Us and it's 30$ which is a pretty sweet price for a remake of one of the best 3D platformers.… Expand

    Better than I ever could've hoped for. Yes, nostalgia hit me like a truck, but the game is extremely solid nonetheless and I'm sure the game would be just as fun if not better if I hadn't played the original. Would love to see a Rehydrated for the movie game as well.

    this game is very good. I think many of the "professional" critics thought this was just a game for kids and didn't take it seriously. that's unfortunate. if you're looking for fun in a videogame, Spongebob BBB is a great choice.

    Not so well hydrated after all. So I want to start this review by saying I had such a positive feeling about this game before reviewing it, it looked fun and energetic and everything my younger heart heart could want from a Spongebob game, let me tell you it isn’t.

So I want to start this review by saying I had such a positive feeling about this game before reviewing it, it looked fun and energetic and everything my younger heart heart could want from a Spongebob game, let me tell you it isn’t.

    The game is definitely tailored to younger audiences even though the original game came out in 2003. I understand wanting to attract a younger audience as Spongebob is a character liked by adults and children alike. However seeing as this cult classic game did come out in 2003, it would make sense to try to tailor to the players of the original too. This doesn’t appear to be the case.

    Firstly I want to say this could just be my Switch hardware, but the graphics of the remaster are extremely poor compared to what the trailers had promised. I know that what was shown in most trailers was PS4 and Xbox footage but I found some Switch promotional materiel and the finished game is no where near as graphically polished as this material. I even had to find a cut-scene online as my game glitched and skipped an early game cut-scene, that was within 10 minutes of starting to play this game and from that moment on I realised my expectations for this game had been far too high.

    The gameplay is interesting for the first 20 minutes and then becomes boring and repetitive the platforming is clunky and uninspired and worst of all are the enemies. There is no extensive variation to the enemies so you continue to use the boring controls with the same combinations to defeat these enemies with ease as most only have one thing you need to avoid before being able to defeat them in 1 hit.

    The Boss battles, if that’s what they can be called also follow the same theme, they have very few lives, making them no challenge at all once you work out how to avoid them once it’s simple to do again. This just adds to the sense of boredom when playing this game there isn’t even a difficulty setting for if you want to try it on a more challenging experience. There are however a few things I did severely enjoy about this game.

    Having watched Spongebob my entire childhood I am very fond of the show and remember lots of cameo appearances and to see some translate into the game was a nice nostalgic trip for me. Also being a fan of the show I cannot fault the soundtrack for the game it reminds me of all of the hilarious episodes I watched as a child and some are stuck in my head since playing. Another enjoyable aspect of the game is the voice acting, with most of the original cast returning it’s a nice continuation for fans of the show, however there is a very noticeable omission, in that Mr Krabs is not the original voice actor and to any fans of the show it’s a very obvious alteration.

    Overall, aside from the actual nostalgia of playing something new in the Spongebob universe there is nothing of note to pull anyone towards this game, and especially if you’re looking at getting a platformer on Switch save up a bit more and buy the stellar Super Mario Odyssey.

    Wow, I didn't expect that, but this game is really cool. Developers didn't change the gameplay and just improved graphic. SpongeBob feels very lively and not boring unlike Tlou 2

    This is a great platformer game! It has this amazing feeling of my childhood!
    Its 7.00 am im starting to be ready for school and on TV i was watching Sponge Bob, almost daily.
    Game itself plays very smooth, controls are nice, its easy to play and achieve everything!

    I am actually in disbelief on how unfair and trash the negative reviews are. This game is great and is amazing remake faithful to the original. Please critics, do not give a game a bad review sinply because you suck so bad at the game :)

    While it can be a little rough around the edges, this it to be expected from a newer developer that has only made its third game as a company.

    That being said, the game is very well made, has fantastic graphics, and is all around a beautiful and faithful remake to the original game.

    Why can't be all remake done this lovely? The Game is only to have fun and a good feeling. Just take the old game, don't change anything except bugs or glitches and bring it on ps4 or xbox with new graphics. This is how a remake should looks like.

    К сожалению, лицом игры станет Эмбер Херд, производящая материалы для продавца шмота с    Вне всякого сомнения, как и полагалось, SpongeBob переиграл и уничтожил The Last Of Ass 2 за считанные мгновенья с момента столь ожидаемого выхода этого шедевра. Это лучшая игра десятилетия наряду с Guns of **** Определённо, в ней есть библейская отсылка, что гарантирует хорошие отзывы от верующих.
    К сожалению, лицом игры станет Эмбер Херд, производящая материалы для продавца шмота с цветами белый и не зелёный. Но к счастью, один великий славянский критик, спонсируемый Нутеллой, очень ярко и трогательно высказался об этом творении в очередном 31-секундном голосовом сообщении своему невысокому другу, рыдая и параллельно обмазываясь шоколадной пастой в поддержку движения #BlackLivesMatter.
    Могу сказать, что не ожидал увидеть любимого персонажа детства геем. Это было такой же загадкой, как и название следующей части ФИФЫ. Но и тут повестка ЛГБТ переплюнула любые пасхалки ЛастОфСасс. Надеюсь, подмышки Патрика будут всегда бритыми, чтобы геймплей не был столь вызывающим и в Биккини Боттом не начались протесты и анархия, как в Америке.
    Сама игра при релизе обещает выйти и на русском языке, но частично на казахском сленге. Не стоит утруждаться и верить, что "не всё так классно через 2 месяца", потому что Вилсакому не "так это ему понраавилось", ведь разработчики этого шедевра не покупают рекламу у продажных техноблогеров, поэтому игра будет классной и спустя 20 лет.
    От себя ставлю оценку 12/10 и верю, что каждый купит это игру всем членам своей семьи трижды. Советую не слушать хейтеров из нижнего интернета и продолжать искренне наслаждаться процессом игры этого шедевра.
    Настал день, когда Ведьмак снимает корону классики игровой индустрии и торжественно передаёт её своему наследнику.    … Expand

    PROS:
    +Incredibly expressive and fluid animations.

    +Gorgeous and beautiful graphics that help modernize the series on next-gen platforms.

    +Remastered music tracks adjusted to fit 2020 standards.

    +An add-in bonus multiplayer feature to help prolong the games lifespan.

    +Buttery smooth 60 FPS.

    CONS:
    -Jank and unfinished testing of Bungee Jump scenarios.

    -Minor technical bugs, hitches and glitches.

    -Inconsistent frame rate issues (Nintendo Switch only).

    -Sound effects and audio cuts from using moves and/or getting damage.

    -Voice audio delay in certain cutscenes (Flying Dutchman fight).

    *With the upcoming Day 1 patch, the game is expected to fix most of the issues seen in the original launch of Rehydrated. Most of them being quality of life changes like the UI, graphics, cutscenes, and audio changes.

    This game isn’t a masterpiece (there’s still minor flaws that need to be fixed) but it’s still an incredibly great game that deserves more praise (especially for being a licensed game). I can’t wait to see how the BfBB speed-running community discovers new ways to beat the game in a short set amount of time. :)    … Expand

    Exactly what a remaster is! I loved this game when I played when I was little and it was my childhood! Years later, I’m so happy they remastered it, it’s exactly how I remember it and even better! With all the new features. It is truly worth every penny.

If it’s not to their standards it’s a bad game. Yes their are flaws, but most of them were also in the original, critics just complain about everything from how hard the controls are to how Spongebob plays, these are all elements from a 2000sThis and the TLOU2 critic reviews show you what’s wrong with the industry nowadays, they only care about the latest graphics and a compelling story. If it’s not to their standards it’s a bad game. Yes their are flaws, but most of them were also in the original, critics just complain about everything from how hard the controls are to how Spongebob plays, these are all elements from a 2000s game, it makes the game feel challenging and you actually require some skill to beat some of the puzzles. That’s what makes it so fun to play. Guess critics just like it when the game holds your hand every 5 meters. This is a very faithfull remake of the original, if you loved it back then you’ll love it again.… Expand

    Сюжет: не буду спойлерить, но скажу что это лучший сюжет на данный момент за всю историю игровой индустрии.
    Персонажи: в каждого персонажа вложена душа, видно что ребята с PLS старались.
    Сенди это лучший женский персонаж в играх, если другие персонажи женского пола были добавлены в игру только чтобы на них дрочили то в Сенди выложили душу.
    Патрик и Спанч Боб это просто пример какими должны быть мужские персонажи, в отличие от других игр в которых мужских персонажей добавляют потому что тупые феменисты им это говорят, в эту игру их добавляли намеренно и я скажу PLS не прогадали.
    Геймплей: я не верю что в играх может быть настолько крутой геймплей, я как-то оторвался от екрана чтобы написать этот пост, это 12/10 Визуал и графика: визуал этой игры шикарный это какой то некс ген, а если добавить графику которая очень подходит игре то будет просто топовая картинка!
    Единственная претензия к PLS, это то что такой труд не может так мало стоить.
    Я купил купил два раза эту игру и ни разу не пожалел! Вывод игра шедевр лучше ваших ведьмаков и ласт оф асов.    … Expand

Я сразу же отдал все свои деньги и пошел домой наслаждаться этим шедевром.. Как только я я зашел в меню я сразу понял что на создание этой игры ушло не меньше 10 лет и бюджет минимум 10 триллионов долларов. Maybe because it doesn't have a Journalist easy mode and for it a very hard game. I wish that all journalists quit their jobs because they don't know, how to play games and making normal reviews of the games.

    The game looks great with a fresh coat a paint, that suits the newer look of the show. There
    are somethings that Rehydrated does better then the original but also somethings that it does worse then the original. it has a decent amount of bugs but THQ has said their working on patches to address this though. All in all I think Rehydrated is a great experience especially for the price.

    Solid and faithful recreation of the original. Very disappointed that schizo speedrunners had so much input over the controls and direction of the game. Game journos somehow having trouble with such a basic platformer with the most basic of controls is past the point of parody. I'm at the point where I can't trust a single thing game journos have to say.

    One of the most fun collectathons of all time now even better. The controls feel amazing, it's fun, has diverse level design and settings, great music, perfect voice acting. It's just how video games should be: FUN. (you know hear the song).

    10 из 10, все, кто находится в нижним интернете оценили данное творение сполна. Рекомендую эту шедевральную игру, парой ГЕЙ-плей лучше чем в том же TLOU2, который в очередной раз доказал свою убогость. ЖДУ GOTY!!!

    I feel like this game is gonna win "game of the year" trophy. THQ and purple lamp made a really cool project for old and new audience. If u like spongebob and games about him u will be amazed how good this game is. Animations, gameplay and story is pretty cool even for the 2003 game remake.

    Лично я доволен данным проектом, самое главное - это ремастеред. И спустя 17 лет, именно столько прошло с выхода оригинала, игра хороша. Приятнее всего - это видеть локации из мультика в 3д и просто погрузиться туда.

    Although the gameplay and character models feel refreshed (Patrick’s limbs are delightfully floppy), the level design pales when compared to newer 3D platformers. Fully remade,2 including a remastered soundtrack, Battle For Bikini Bottom proves to be fun on a technical level, but the barren worlds, many NPCs you cannot interact with, and vexing objectives (the rolling ball in Mermaid Man’s lair, anybody?) make it fun and frustrating in equal measure. Fans won’t want to leave this one at the bottom of the sea. [Issue#178, p.82]

    Lots of charm and lots of content, still worth the investment if you’re a nostalgic soul, looking for a fresh dose of bikini bottom action. Some aspects - the amount of texture pop-in, to name one - undeniably feel a bit dated, though.
