    Superb zombie slaying redone in gorgeous modern presentation. It doesn’t tread the classic RE2 path verbatim but the modern quality of life improvements really help bring the game into a modern era where fans of the original, and newbies alike can all enjoy. A must have for any Zombie fan!

    Game so far is pretty dope. As in the rest of the series, ammo and health always hard to come by. That can get quite frustrating, but you make it through. Definitely worth your time.

    Os games extra são incríveis também, jogo sempre.
    É gratificante o cuidado que a Capcom teve com esse Remake, sendo bastante fiel ao original. Um dos maiores acertos e com certeza um dos melhores jogos de RE

    I don't see what all the hype is about. It's a well-executed Resident Evil game. There's nothing particularly special or original about it. Compared to RE7 which was a true masterpiece 9/10 and truly revolutionary, RE2 remake is like the title, just a standard remake. It really doesn't go beyond that.

    As a long time fan of the series, seeing this game getting a remake treatment has put a smile on my face. I had bought the deluxe edition at launch date, and didn't disappoint. I was hoping the scenario routes for both Leon & Claire was different like the original Resi 2, but beggers can't be choosers. Some of the new puzzles are OK, as for the Ghost Survivor DLC, is pretty cool to have.

    Finished story with Leon, then finished 2nd run with Claire and i'm still not enough of these game. Now playing extras.. Beatuiful graphis, brilliant puzzles, challenging enemies, these game has everything it needs.

    An absolute masterpiece. Technically perfect: superb gameplay and perfect graphics.
    Intense, thrilling and fun story although with some puzzlingly stupid details (some character dress, some lines of the plot...).
    Must play (and re-play, and re-play....)

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Really enjoyable game, the graphics are great, the cinematography (if you can call it that) is just jaw dropping. With this game it's the simple things that make it work, an interface that doesn't get in the way, voices and acting that believable, the easing between cutscene and gameplay. It's all refined and well executed.

    They seem to really get what makes a horror game, the storyline, the iconic imagery and genuinely scary moments.

    One niggle to the game is that you have the ability to play the game along the same timeline with two main characters but in many cases, you do the same objectives - it would be nice to have been totally separate.    … Expand

    Resident evil as I always wanted it. There are a lot of puzzles, the doors opening and closing without loading is really the turning point, although it was an implementation that was already present in 4. I enjoyed playing with it.It remains one of my favorite video games, I expected to see the same quality in 3 too, unfortunately it wasn't like that. Why not turn RE 7 into this kind of game?

    Resident Evil 2 es el ejemplo de como hacer un Remake perfecto, junto con FFVII, estos juegos hacen un giro en prácticamente todo el juego original, pero se siente la esencia que tenían originalmente, León y Claire son excelentes personajes y muy queridos por el fandom, y ese nuevo estilo les quedo de lujo, la historia es muy muy interesante, es muy buena, el único pero que se le tiene, yResident Evil 2 es el ejemplo de como hacer un Remake perfecto, junto con FFVII, estos juegos hacen un giro en prácticamente todo el juego original, pero se siente la esencia que tenían originalmente, León y Claire son excelentes personajes y muy queridos por el fandom, y ese nuevo estilo les quedo de lujo, la historia es muy muy interesante, es muy buena, el único pero que se le tiene, y que eso le resta para no ser un juego de 95, tiene unas contradicciones BRUTALES, son simplemente horribles, parece que Capcom no pensó mucho sobre la conexión de ambas historias y solo hicieron partes nuevas junto con reciclado, pero bueno, es de los pocos puntos malos que le podría encontrar, pero realmente es un algo negativo muy gordo, la cámara le queda perfecto, es simplemente asombroso jugar RE2 con cámara en tercera persona, y Mr. X es igual de tenebroso que en el original, sin duda estar investigando y de repente oír los pasos de que se aproxima es fabuloso, las armas de cada uno son bastante buenas, pero sinceramente me quedo con Claire, su historia como armas me atraen mas, realmente es un muy muy buen juego, me hubiera gustado ver localizaciones nuevas o enemigos nuevos, aunque esto ya es una opinión impopular, sin dudas junto a FFVII es el mejor Remake jamás hecho, logro hacer un juego tanto para viejos jugadores como para los nuevos jugadores, muy bien Capcom, podría atreverme a decir que es el mejor juego que hiciste en la generación de Ps4 y One, es una terrible joya.… Expand

    Resident Evil has always been a hallmark of my childhood nostalgia. I remember spending entire nights watching my older brother play through the titles while my father helped solve puzzles and point him in the right direction. Fast forward almost 18 years later, It'd finally be my chance to play a resident evil title on my own. I think the most impressive feat that this game accomplished was it's ability to really go all in on that horror atmosphere that has been missing from the last few titles. In the previous installments (mostly Resident evil 5 and 6) the non-stop action made it a little bit difficult to really embrace its history as a top dog in the survival horror genre. I think Resident Evil 2 Remake is a perfect entry in the series because it really cements this series as one of the greatest of all time. Despite the game being third person and lacking the "tank controls" of the original, I think Capcom did an excellent job portraying Leon's first day on the job through the intentionally clunky controls and the zombies themselves being bullet sponges just like the classic titles. The return of certain enemies allows for some truly dynamic gameplay sequences that make for some really memorable moments. The new and improved layout of the police station along with all of the updated puzzles and level designs does the original plenty of justice. All in all, I think that Resident Evil 2 Remake deserves all of the praise it's gotten and then some for putting Capcom back on the map and restoring the Resident Evil franchise to its former glory.… Expand

    Great mysterious atmosphere, great graphics, great puzzles, great horror aspect, great NG+ without much repetition, different endings. Maybe the controls and how the character is moved around is a little outdated, but still is enjoyable. Overall great experience

Coge literalmente lo mejor del juego clásico (historia, terror, ambientación, variedad de enemigos, etc.) y lo mezcla con lo mejor de los juegos actuales (cámara sobre el hombro, apartado técnico y jugabilidad) para conseguir un resultado prácticamente perfecto. Además, al ser un juego que llegó casi al final de la generación,Posiblemente uno de los mejores remake que se han hecho nunca. Coge literalmente lo mejor del juego clásico (historia, terror, ambientación, variedad de enemigos, etc.) y lo mezcla con lo mejor de los juegos actuales (cámara sobre el hombro, apartado técnico y jugabilidad) para conseguir un resultado prácticamente perfecto. Además, al ser un juego que llegó casi al final de la generación, aprovecha al máximo la potencia de estas consolas. También hay que destacar sus 2 campañas (Leon y Claire), que aunque no tienen una coherencia narrativa perfecta, aportan cada una sus diferencias suficientes como para hacer que el título sea muy rejugable.     A perfect remake and also a rethinking of the legendary re 2 from 1998, this game brings back that same feeling of fear and tension from resident evil, the perfect atmosphere for horror, good visuals and graphics, well optimized game, 4 different companies and medium difficulty, this is an example of what capcom still can!

    I'm not in the majority with this opinion, but this is a boring puzzle game that teases you with great shooting mechanics and barely any zombies to shoot. I hope you like shooting bosses though, plenty of them. This is a testament to why 3-6 progressively cranked up the action to the umpteenth degree.

The original is the pinnacle of the RE franchise in my opinion, but this remake was a slog to get through and the thought of a second playthrough is scarier to me than the game itself. It's a shame too because if they would have left the tyrant out of it and stayed true to to the original (and ended the game on the 2nd last boss) it wouldI LOVE the original Resident Evil 2 on PlayStation.     A masterfully recreated game of the original, I wouldn't call the remake a perfect remake but it's damn close. For me what stops this remake from being a perfect 10 is that Claire does not get her iconic crossbow in this game (come on, you could have easily put this in Capcom and had it make sense. Off the top of my head; you find it in the evidence room accompanied by a memo saying it wasA masterfully recreated game of the original, I wouldn't call the remake a perfect remake but it's damn close. For me what stops this remake from being a perfect 10 is that Claire does not get her iconic crossbow in this game (come on, you could have easily put this in Capcom and had it make sense. If time was a factor or laziness simply not wanting to animate cutscenes it would have been so easy to just have the characters communicate over the radio.     Game is extremely boring. Weak story, few dialogs, bad combat design, repetitiveness and a lot of back tracking.
    Objectively average game has too many flaws, that’s why high scores are given only by blind fans, not by people who have never played original game.

    P.S. RE3 remake did way better work than this.

    Great game, only complaint was the Mr X sections and the Zombied taking to many shots. It lacked the satisfaction of clearing a room as you never knew ifva Zombie was dead. I get why they did it, But I would have prefered more Zombies filling the rooms than the same one coming back. Beside that , great combat, ballaced perfect, a bit more would have been nice.
    I ruined my second    Great game, only complaint was the Mr X sections and the Zombied taking to many shots. It lacked the satisfaction of clearing a room as you never knew ifva Zombie was dead. It's really scary the first time I've played it alone and drop it after that. The controls are tight and the atmosphere is top notch zombie apocalypse horror. It gets back to the series that RE7 ran away from and thank goodness for that. The one big flaw can be how the unkillable character enemies can quickly become annoying when you wantRather then remaking the game as it was to be better like the REmake did, they completely rebuilt this one and it was worth it.     I really don't have any complaints with this game at all, I guess the only complain I have is the knife shouldn't break but other than that this game is prefect. You rarely get a flawless game like this, do yourself a favour and play this game if you haven't yet. Do a run of Story A and alternate character story B this way you get the complete first story.

This is a legit zombie game that will hook you into the Resident Evil atmosphere. Not another open world chore game. This game is somewhat of a challenge and the average casual gamer will struggle without using a guide. Lots ofDoesn't top Resident evil 4. But is an incredible remake. An intense horror game that will scare the hell out of you playing with headphones on in a darkroom. This is a legit zombie game that will hook you into the Resident Evil atmosphere. Not another open world chore game. This game is somewhat of a challenge and the average casual gamer will struggle without using a guide. Lots of puzzles and if you are a trophy hunter like me you will be discouraged at the 3.5 and less hour game completions needed. Hardcore mode will make you throw your controller across the room (not all of us are high skilled in these games) but I enjoy standard mode.     This is made by people who thought the original game was bad. They wanted to change every thing they could. These are not Leon and Claire. This is not Resident Evil 2. The correct word here would be imposter. This game is an imposter and its characters are imposters.

    Game play is fun for a while, until you get to a boss fight, then you will want to pull your hair out. I only play on Hardcore. I have never played on any other difficulty because then you don't get the ink ribbon and inventory experience of the original. Couldn't they have left those in tact while just making the bosses easier? Any why can't I break free from a zombie by mashing buttons, like in the original? Why can't I stomp a grounded zombies head, like in the original?

    I beat it twice, but I don't think I will ever play it again, unless there is a mod to make the bosses not suck.    … Expand

    A great game and how Resident Evil games should be done, however the 2nd playthrough with Claire is a bit stupid as you go over ground already covered by Leon, yet the story is meant to run simultaneously, which knocks the score down for me.

    Em segundo plano, o jogo não apresenta outros defeitos. em quesitos técnicos o jogo é impecável, e adapta muito bem a experiência original PS1. O terror é muito presente, e os inimigos    Simplesmente esplendido.

    Resident Evil 2 excelled over other survival horror games by emphasizing on the never-ending threat(s) that challenge you to manage your equipment and supplies efficiently. Going through certain areas in the game made me question whether it was worth spending my HP or ammo and to me, this is why Resident Evil 2 deserve a 9; aside from the incredible graphics, atmosphere, and story, it makes you actually think about your decisions and the trade-offs that comes with it.

    The reason that stops RE2 from getting a 10 is the somewhat poor dialogue that may or may not be too noticeable through protagonists regardless of the great voice performances.     I'm not gonna compare it to the classic. It's a good game. You'll be entertained for the next ten hours or so. But I expected a different campaign for each of the characters and it wasn't like that at all. A game that if you find it under 20 euros, it's good for a weekend.

I think my only complaint would be that I don't consider this title as a remake, if not a reinterpretation, due to the big camera change, don't get me wrong, I love this perspective from the shoulder, but I think that for it to be a remake, a classic camera was necessary.     This game is absolutely amazing!
    The atmosphere is tight, scary, and tense. The police station is one of the best video game locations ever, it's just so good and memorable! Tyrant constantly chasing you is also a great addition to the game, as it requires your fast thinking, and pushes you to think fast.
    Definitely one of the best remakes ever. My top favorite game!

    I've finally got around to finishing all 4 playthroughs of this game. I have found it enjoyable and heart pounding. However, there is one thing that prevents me from giving this title a 10. The stories (ie. if you start of as Leon and then play it from Claire's POV) don't tie in together like the original. And I still have the original. Overall, the replay value is there and I'm stillI've finally got around to finishing all 4 playthroughs of this game. I have found it enjoyable and heart pounding.     The story feels a bit plain and dated though and the writing doesn’t feel very modern, but since it’s a remake this isn’t really a bad thing.

    + Graphics and atmosphere are great
    + Tense survival action with loads of RE-hallmarked ”Yes I made it! Aw **** now I gotta go back through there again”-moments
    + Nostalgia

    - Voice acting and writing feels shallow and quite unengaging (I can’t imagine anyone reacting to a mutated 10-foot abomination with a casual ”This HAS to be a joke.”)
    - The story feels very ”90’s”

    In particular, the love story sub-plot between Leon and Ada is incredibly cringe-worthy. It’s a good thing he didn’t stay on the force being so gullible and prone to manipulation.

    But all in all, it’s a remake that stays very true to its original while doing an incredible job of face-lifting both graphics and gameplay to make it feel modern and engaging.

The game replaces things around to make it more than just a remake which is what is needed in the franchise. It's truly an amazing game that knows what it is, and I thank God that this game came out. It's definitely earned my favorite Survival Horror game. I'm glad to experience it again in a new light. If you read this review thanks for giving it the time to read.     Resident Evil 2 is a wonderful recreation of a believed original that, not only recaptures the glory of that game, but also improves upon it from a visual and gameplay standpoint. All in all, don’t miss out on this one.
