    What a disappointment, this game is nothing more than an underwhelming "Remake" of the original game, that feels very lazy and rushed.
    It honestly plays like an outdated PlayStation 3 game, the visuals are beautiful, but the controls and core gameplay are bland. Even though it does get better as you unlock more weapons, something feels off, the movement is kind of clunky and doesn't match    What a disappointment, this game is nothing more than an underwhelming "Remake" of the original game, that feels very lazy and rushed.
    It honestly plays like an outdated PlayStation 3 game, the visuals are beautiful, but the controls and core gameplay are bland. Even though it does get better as you unlock more weapons, something feels off, the movement is kind of clunky and doesn't match well with how fast paced the action is.

    The story is incredibly boring, it's the most basic and uninteresting story that tries to be something bigger but ultimately falls flat by the very choppy pacing, and what the hell is wrong with these cutscenes that were taken from the movie, they are so out of place and very abrupt, it's like they don't even belong in the game.

    The planets look great but there's not much to do in them, there are some mini games and I did enjoy few of them but I never felt motivated to genuinely explore and get lost, it's a very linear experience.

    The best thing about the game is the environment and the graphics, the game looks really good for most of the time like an animated movie for children, but that's the only thing that truly impressed me.

    As for the puzzles... uhhh well, nope, I didn't really enjoy them, fortunately there aren't many of them, it's just that they could've been shorter because they slow down the action.

    Also I just wanna point out that I didn't even laugh a single time throughout the entirety of the game, in fact I forgot I was supposed to laugh, the jokes don't land at all, they're embarrassing and very cringe.

    It's barely a mediocre game in my opinion, it's right below average with few redeeming qualities, but it could have been significantly better. It's just not fun for me, and I can't help but feel unsatisfied, granted I do think that some people might enjoy it more than I did, because I was left severely disappointed.

    I was a big fan of Ratchet & Clank on the PS2, so I picked this game up because of nostalgia, but... it REALLY wasn't what I expected; I mean... the graphics are very good and the character models look nice.

    Ratchet & Clank disappointed me in many many ways.
    First of all, the pacing is absolutely awful; the main story gets somewhat engaging only in it's last hour, the rest of the game is completely forgettable and nothing really happens.
    The character development and interactions are non-existent, the rest of the game is an experience that doesn't have any depth and there's barely any content apart from the main story.
    The movie cutscenes are implemented in the worst ways possible, making the pacing even worse than it already is.
    The humor is surprisingly horrible for the most part, which I didn't expect at all.
    Also, the mission design, the puzzles and Clank's sections are all extremely monotonous, repetitive and boring, which negatively affect the gameplay loop of the game. As for the gameplay itself, you can finish the entire game just by holding down the attack button to kill the waves, and the aiming feels very stiff for some reason.

    + Impressive weapon variety

    Cons:
    - Major pacing issues
    - Completely unmemorable main questline
    - Absent character development and interactions, and unfunny humor
    - Lacks depth and content

    Ratchet & Clank is a very underwhelming game in my opinion and it disappointed me immensely because I loved playing Ratchet & Clank on the PS2, so I expected this game to be at least half as good as the older games.

    This sim is a quality and fun ratchet, graphics are perfect, gameplay is perfect up and the sound design is so good that I went crazy.
    This game simply has no downsides.

    This game is one of the best gun games for me. It is full of ideas. I enjoyed it and it has a rating of 9.2 out of 10 and I want to finish it again on a hard level.

    Best game of the franchise. It's better than Rift Apart, because the weapons are better designed, and the gunplay and gunfield feels pretty inmersive. The kinesthetic is perfect, and the enemies put a lot of pressure on you every time on the most difficult settings. There's a lot of variety of planets. It's like something between Ratchet and Clank 1 and Ratchet and Clank Up your Arsenal.

    It's so funny and I enjoyed playing this game. However, I would modify some things. I didn't like tha camera when Ratchet was flying with the jetpack, it's seems you couldn't manage. Despite this small problem, graphics and dubbing is perfect. In conclusion, it's a nice remake. GOOD JOB!!

    Un muy buen juego para PS4, cumplidor y con una historia bastante entretenida y buenos gráficos. La jugabilidad es muy divertida ya que puedes usar diversas armas y eso la hace muy variada, añadiendo un diseño de mundos muy correcto hace que la experiencia no sea aburrida en absoluto. Quizá el juego peca un poco de corto y me he quedado con ganas de más.     No miento me pase este juego 7 veces consecutivas, no dura mucho en realidad pero es buenísimo, en ningún momento me aburrí, me enganche como loco a esta joya, sus gráficos son buenísimos, tiene unas armas grandiosas, cada planeta tiene una personalidad única y muy bien diseñada, me encantó

    I finally get to do a review after all these years. Just for context, I have never played a Ratchet and Clank Game, not on the PS2, or PS3, this was my first Ratchet and Clank game and I gotta say, just amazing, across the board.

    I like this game it's a 10/10 in every aspect, graphics gameplay, character visuals, story, and even the music, but that's why I'm doing this. I did some very expert research and it turns out the PS2 soundtrack is better than the new one for this game, so I was gonna give this game 10 but some elements of the PS2 game, very small elements make this game Incomplete, and close to perfect.

    Oh and also on the performance side Ratchet and Clank did break my PS4 on 2 occasions, so I'll factor that in as well in the rating.

    9/10, a Superb game for any new or existing player to get into the Ratchet and Clank universe.

    This review is late and most probably won't help anyone, but it's just for History's sake, to Gratify Insomniac for their Efforts on games recently, and In the past.    … Expand

    Third person platform game that's very reminiscent of the host of 3D platformers that proliferated on the Nintendo 64, particularly Jet Force Gemini. With a far more powerful platform it's a much more polished and playable affair complete with a Pixar style backstory.

This game maintains satisfying pacing without much filler while never overstaying its welcome. There are also few boss battles, yet what is here is of great quality, especially the final boss.As my first Ratchet and Clank title, I was consistently impressed and engaged by the colorful visuals, vast array of fun weapons, and scale of each planet with their collectibles and simple puzzles.     Good 3D action-platformer. Incredible visuals. Nice cartoonish style and cutscenes. Interesting fights. Challenging enough. And entertaining enough. I don’t know how Sony makes such graphics possible on past gen. Already bought rift apart to play on ps5.

The story is lackluster, the movement is clunky, the exploration pretty linear, and the boss fights pretty rinse and repeat. I also found the save points to be pretty bad. I found myself spawning 5-8 minutesI went into this with high expectations. My first PlayStation was a PS5 and this was my first ratchet and clank.     The guns are cool and funny, but that is the extent of how interesting the combat is. Movement feels bad which surprises me for an insomniac game.

    Maybe it was just me but it also seemed like the animations in the cutscenes dropped in quality massively by the end of the game.

    On the positive though: cool guns, pretty graphics over all, the worlds are cool, art style is awesome, and the game is really well polished.

    Ratchet and Clank exudes quality in every way - its voice acting, narrative, mechanics and overall levels of mechanical performance are all excellent. This makes the experience of playing through the game highly succinct - as mentioned before, it's a fantastic 40 hours, after which you set the game down and probably never touch it again.

    If you are looking for an excellent, succinct adventure, I cannot recommend Ratchet and Clank enough. I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a game that encourages multiple playthroughs, however. It is an excellent re-imagining of the first game, and will likely satisfy most people who pick it up.    … Expand

I like the game a lot but I'm stuck in one spot and I'm very annoyed because now I have to start the game over again because the spot that it keeps bringing to me to is a dead end and I can't jump nowhere or go anywhere but jump off the edge and die and then it brings me right back to the same spot again even when I get out of the game and start it over the next day to continue thinking it's going to bring me back to my ship No it brings me right back to that same spot again and it's a dead end so I can't jump anywhere or go anywhere or go back to my ship it brings me right back there and I have to die because it's not allowing me to go back to anywhere else so I wish they would fix this because I don't think it's fair that I'm so far in the game and now I have to start it all over again because I'm stuck in that spot...… Expand

    It lacks some plot depth, but nevertheless it's a pleasant, children's cartoon story.
    The gameplay is also fun and varied.

    All of a sudden everything is too stylish, too cute, too straight-forward. The fun is kinda lost, the grumpy Ratchet is gone, and the difficulty! Maybe this remake wasn't necessary after all.

    The game was great to even pass it 3 times and acquired the platinum in the process. In addition, I liked the bosses, weapons, and the storyline. therefore, those playstation fans who have never played a ratchet and clank game before, really recommend this for a start.

    A remake of the first installment of Ratchet & Clank on PlayStation 2, it has new things than the original, I already finished it 2 times and I never get tired, honestly I never play the entire Ratchet & Clank series but I give it a chance to play the rest.

    I really like adventure games in which you collect stuff, find hidden collectibles and buy upgrades. Combine this with some decent combat mechanics and some platforming and I am hooked up for hours. Ratchet and Clank is a game that does just that.

    I was always fan of the Ratchet and Clank series, so when this remaster for the PS4 came out, I immediately bought it.

    The story of the game is a little blend and cliché but not terrible. It gives clear directions on where to go next and you can backtrack and go on sideway paths whenever you like. The open world levels, that you can visit in every order you want, makes the game fun to play. You are not bound to a specific path and if you are like me, you complete all the side quests first and then continue with the main story.

    The graphics are fairly decent and a good upgrade from the original game. The framerate is good and keeps stable throughout the game, even with a lot of action on the screen.

    The sounds and music are quite nice and when playing in the background gives a calming feeling while you are exploring.

    The ton of collectible items like bolts, gold nuts and trading cards made me search every inch of the game. Combine this with some PlayStation trophies you can earn for collecting everything and there is nothing in the game that I haven’t seen or experienced.

    The upgrade mechanics are really cool and although Ratchet and Clank is not an RPG, it feels this way when you upgrade your weapons with specific upgrades that let you earn more bolts, cards or Raritanium.

    The combat mechanics and weapon selection are well done and switching to one of your other ridiculous weapons is made easy to understand. Combat feels fluent and fair, except for some homing attacks some enemies have, but this adds to the challenge. The weapons are all over the place like the “Groovitron” and the “Pixelator”. Ever want to see an enemy in 8 bits in a fully 3D environment or see a tank dance? In this game you can.

    The New Game + feature let’s you collect and upgrade everything you didn’t get around to the first time so you can complete the game anytime.

    There are some minor complaints from my end about the game like the unskippable cutscenes when interacting with some NPC’s and the Clank levels which I found really boring, but this is my personal experience.

    Overall, I really liked this game and would complete it again anytime. Definitely worthy for giving it a try.    … Expand

    I'm not always a fan of the self-aware meta style of a lot of animated movies these days (which this game series clearly channels in its performances and designs), but this game looked and played great. Don't even like 3D platformer/shooters so much, but I had a good time with this one.

    Eu nunca joguei o Ratchet & Clank original de PS2, então esse jogo para mim é uma completa novidade. Não sou muito fã da abordagem pique 'hack-and-slash' dele, em que vários inimigos vão aparecendo e você precisa derrotar todos eles para avançar, mas os gráficos, os sons e a jogabilidade (principalmente a variedade de armas) são todos muito bem feitos.

    I guess I'm late to the party. This is an absolute gem. The graphics, the weapons, even the racing cars (this can be a bit irking if you are going for the trophies). But overall a really fun game.

    I thoroughly enjoyed the nostalgia trip this game gave me. Though you can play through it rather quickly, it still left its mark. Leveling up every weapon to the max was a lot more fun than expected.

    This is a great game that plays like any action adventure platformer. The game is fun, the characters are lovely and story is well integrated with the gameplay. One of the things i enjoy was the funny dialogue and the music that is top notch; fantastic game.

    Ratchet & Clank (2016) does a great job at capturing the essence of past games in the series. While the movie wasn’t so great, the game manages to do a good job at putting everything in order.

    Dank vieler frischer Einfälle, vor allem einigen neuen lustigen Waffentypen, wirkt das Remake des PS2 Klassiker eigentlich auch fast wie ein komplett neues Spiel. Selten spielt sich Action heute noch so eingängig und kurzweilig, vielleicht hat man entsprechende Titel aber auch nur nicht mehr wirklich auf dem Schirm, weil sich das Action Genre immer mehr Richtung Adventure und RPG verschoben hat. Ratchet & Clank verzichtet hier auf allen unnötigen Cross-Genre Ballast, sieht dabei spitze aus und macht kurzweilig einfach sehr viel Spaß. Allerdings, das muss man einfach ehrlich reflektieren, heute ist man natürlich anderes gewohnt. Der Titel ist schon nicht sehr lang und umfangreich, aber irgendwie ists dann auch gut, wenn man alle Spielgebiete einmal frei geballert hat. Einen wirklichen Wiederspielwert hat der Titel nicht. Letztlich wird einem dann doch zu wenig geboten um langfristiger wirklich motiviert zu bleiben.

    Trotzdem ist das Remake ein wirklich guter, vor allem runder und ausbalancierter Action Titel, der nicht nur den Fans der alten Teile zu empfehlen ist.    … Expand

    I played Ratchet & Clank on a PS4 slim in 2021.
    The graphics is polished and the game runs smoothly.
    I'm an adult man and wasn't sure I would like a "childish" game but wow, R&C is so fun! The levels are simple but well designed, the enemies are okay, the difficulty level is well-balanced, but what makes this game great and fun are the weapons. The story is okay too, although not so    I played Ratchet & Clank on a PS4 slim in 2021.

    Plot-wise this game is a mess, granted this just adapts the story from the movie. The gameplay is amazing tho, I am very interested on what Insomniac Games has in store for the future of RandC continuing from Into The Nexus.

    Overall this is a decent Ratchet and Clank game that continues in a way typical for the serie. Combat is super fun, graphics decent even nowadays.     This was a great game. I wish they didn't remove loads of the settings thou like sensitivity and so on which were present even on the PS2. Not to say this game wasn't fun thou. I really enjoyed playing it and it had all the fun you would expect a ratchet and clank game to have. I felt the grind rails were a bit basic and it always slowed down when you needed to jump or hit a bomb off whichThis was a great game.     Another thing I dislike with new Ratchet and clank games is it doesn't count your completion count anymore. On Ps2 every time you completed the game it would add it to your completion count. Everything I didn't like with this game thou (Bar the completion count) has been improved upon in the new Rift apart game which I also highly recommend you should check out!    … Expand

    The first time I've played a ratchet and clank game and boy was it a blast. Loved the characters and the gameplay was so much fun.

Итак, в Ratchet & Clank мы знакомимся с нашими двумя героями космических рэйнджеров — главных блюстителей порядка во вселенной. Мы с вами по сути наблюдаем практически за встречей Рэтчета и Кланка — несостоявшегося бракованного робота армии разрушения доктора Нефариуса, за не самым простым вступлением в ряды элитной космической полиции, за последующими первыми подвигами и многочисленными битвами с армиями бларгов — миньонов злодейских боссов этой части Алонзо Дрека и вышеупомянутого Доктора Нефариуса. По сюжетной части как бы сказать особо нечего итак более-менее всё понятно, немного наивно всё же и по-детски, но подача с легким юморком аля Автостопом по Галактике однозначно приятно порадовала. По исполнению всё сделано без каких-либо претензий — каждый мир по своем прекрасен, хоть и масштабы каждого из них невелики. Играть в Рэтчета сродни непосредственному участию в хорошем современном мультфильме от Pixar. По геймплею есть вопросы, хотя идею сочетания огромного количества пушек и ручного разводного ключа в принципе можно считать удачной - весело, задорно, реактивно. Первый неприятный нюанс заключается в том, что стрельба из большинства этих пушек ощущается совсем нездорово, определенно американцы с этим компонентом особо решили не заморачиваться — платформер же, упор был сделан в их многообразие и опять же шуточную по большей части их составляющую, будь-то Овцинатор — превращающий врагов в овец, Пикселизатор — отправляющий неугодных в 8-битную реальность, Мистер Зуркон — еще один маленький кровожадный помощник Рэтчета, состоящий в оружейном арсенале рэйнджера, постоянные комментарии которого обязательно заставят вас улыбаться. Перестрелки с врагами как бы-то ни было получаются динамичными и увлекательными хотя и несколько хаотичными. В остальном же механики движения, полета и прочих всевозможных рельсовых паркуров оставляют только положительные эмоции. Порадовало также разнообразие геймплейных составляющих в игре: за Ратчета — безбашенного фарширующего врагов бесчисленным количеством стреляющего чем попало оружия и бьющего больно разводным ключом по кумполу; за Кланка — решающего головоломки с помощью подручных мини-роботов; несколько миссий на боевом корабле — с отстрелом воздушных единиц вражеской космической флотилии.… Expand

    The characters of Ratchet and Clank are gone. You control two boy scouts that share the names, but the hot-headed Lombax and the naive little robot are nowhere to be found. These new main characters have no chemistry or growth – they hardly even talk to each other during the whole game. The game does treat you to dead-eyed dialogue cutscenes with characters dryly spouting exposition though, and a jumble of short clips lifted from the tie-in movie.

    The witty banter is gone. Instead, we get cringy meme humor. The iconic tunes are gone and replaced by the orchestral equivalent of elevator music. A lot of levels are gone because I don't know, not enough money I guess. Side characters are gone because gotta have Captain Qwark in every scene right? The core message of the story is absolutely gone. The new game is the kind of cash-driven mass-market fluff that the original game made fun of.

    What the game does have is collectible cards. But don't worry, they aren't interesting or matter in any way.

    Still, the worst part is the constant hand-holding. I'm all for accessibility in games, I really am. But when the main character himself just tells you the solution to the puzzle 10 seconds into it, when the narrator tells you which gadgets exactly you need to access "secret" areas and where to find them, when no one shuts up about your current objective and how to reach it... When the game treats you like an idiot, you start feeling like an idiot for buying the game.

    Summary: A famous big-budget development house with Hollywood writers copied a 14-year-old game and somehow failed to match the quality.    … Expand

    Inferior to the old games in every way. The shooting mechanics are enjoyable and the gameplay is rewarding but the game is full of uninteresting minigames, the story is very cliché with cringy humor and the characters are mediocre. The different planets look very cool but they are mostly re-skinned. It's an average game but it could have been better in my opinion.

    A really nice jump n run adventure which makes a lot of fun, looks beautiful and has a cinematic story. On PS5 it runs at 60 fps thanks to an update. All in all a must-have for Playstation fans.

    They took scenes from the movie and put them in the game to pad out the play time while also having to do less work themselves. The gameplay is so mindboggingly boring compared to the older ones, while also somehow making most weapons braindead to use. The platforming is basically non-existant and nothing feels like it has substance or meaning.
    The story is honestly an insult to even children, let alone the actual fans of the game, and they are such big hypocrites that they even go against the promise of the original game (marketing, brands and consumerism) by literally creating the most soulless, cashgrab movie tie-in of their own franchise as a video game and charging 60 bucks for it.

    This is the death of the series, and to be honest, it's for the better. I won't have to listen to that hollywood composer wannabe music anymore. They didn't even bother remaking or remastering music from the original game, they just created generic movie orchestra music for all the levels, new and old.

    What a disappointment, not even at 20 bucks is this game worth it. Wait for it to be on PS Plus honestly.    … Expand

But I just didn't click with this game. It felt too generic the whole time I played it, the combat felt stale and every single one of the characters were boring stock puppets.     Ratchet & Clank looks and plays as well as it ever has. Fans will enjoy the nostalgic journey through familiar planets, while newcomers will appreciate the chaotic and creative weaponry. But for the ninth game in a franchise that built its name on unique weapons, it’s a shame that the arsenal just coasts on fan-favorites. Insomniac played it safe.

    Insomniac Games did not just remake this classic platformer. They boldly bombarded it with ideas and then rebuilt it pixel by pixel using methods unknown 13 years ago. The result is magnificent. [06/2016, p.50]
