Persona 5 es la prueba de que una franquicia puede reinventarse casi por completo y aún mantener la esencia de sus juegos, siendo esto algo muy difícil de ver en otros títulos triple A de la industria.

This game is pretty sick, but definitely over hyped. The story is kind of underwhelming and the game play is just above average. Well to be honest the first 10 hours I did not understand why everyone was so hyped about this game, it was OK/good and I had to adjust to the style. After 20-30 hours I started to really like the story and characters. This was a very slow start but after seeing the ending at 103 hours I was sad this journey ended with all these lovable characters. I have to compain though about the length of the game. I think I would have liked the game more of they would have shortened every of those long ass dungeons by maybe one hour each. Traveling down to Mementos was also quite boring. I think they should have fit that game into 60 hours and made all other stuff post game content. I also didn't really like this forced linear time management at first. I think it shoul have been possible to use more time on a single day....that was annoying sometimes. On the other hand the fighting system is very very good and the style together with most of it's OST is also very good. The graphics are just OK to be hones. This game is certainly a niche game and I can understand if a lot of people don't like it but if you are into JRPG or you carry an affinity to japanese stuff this is for you. And it's one of the best PS4 games of you look at it objectively, though personally I liked Nier Automata more (GOTY !!) . Currently I am into Zelda somewhere and that order my change. But right now not.

Persona 5 is really one of the best JRPGs because it has a very good story and a gameplay. The graphics is a very good, but I don't judge the game according to the graphics. How they say: "Don't judge a book by its cover." This also applies to games, graphics is a cover, so what's more important is story and gameplay.

Story: They used a very difficult theme for the story. In Persona 4 they show the other side of the human mind, which shows that every man has two faces, one face you represent to outside world, another face that you hold deep within yourself. In Persona 5 they go one step further and show the corruption of the human soul (heart) through seven deadly sins. Both stories perfectly describe the problem of the real world and they send a strong message, and the message is: "Humans have to change." That's why I like the story of Persona series, because they go deep into the human mind and soul. They also have well designed the characters and theirs personality.

Gameplay: While I was playing Persona 5 I could noticed that they combines and improves certain elements from Persona 3 and Persona 4. They have improved time management and battle system with a new Confidant system (formerly known as Social Links). Each Confidant system gives certain abilities which can facilitate time management and battle system. Time management can be frustrating, but it gives a challenge. I like that they improved traditional Turn-Based Battle system by adding a swapping system and the cooperative system. The biggest improvement in Persona 5 is a dungeon exploration. You can uses stealth to avoid or ambush enemies and you have to solve the puzzles to progress in dungeons. In the previous games, you just run through the dungeon until you reach the goal. Persona Fusion system also improved, now you can choose which ability you want to transfer to new persona. In Persona 3 and Persona 4, this function was random.

Conclusion: Persona 5 is a great improvement from its predecessors. It has preserved certain traditional elements of JRPGs and added some new ones. That's why this game is a one of the best JRPGs.

never heard of them, I just didn't pay attention. Then I saw the
trailer for this game and the stylish, animated segments and I knew I
had to play this and was not disappointed.

    GAMEPLAY:

The game is a combination of a traditional RPG and social simulator.
Half-the time you're fighting monsters and the other half is spending
time with people, working, studying etc.

Doing everyday things doesn't sound fun in theory, but you soon become
immersed in this world. All the characters you meet are interesting and
you can see twelve people's personal stories unfurl. The world is
varied with many things to do and places to visit. All these tasks will
help either get more money, increase your statistics, or unlock new
    fighting abilities.

The big frustration about the real world stuff is you won't have
enough time to do everything. The game is on a strict schedule and you're
expected to complete levels by certain dates. There is a + game that
carries over your weapons, Personas, etc., which make things easier.
However, considering that it almost took me a hundred hours to finish,
you probably wouldn't want to replay anytime soon.

I also find an aspect of the dating option uncomfortable. You're a high
school student, but you can date three adults. Kind of creepy.

The RPG section is fun, but can be a bit aggravating. I like that the
game keeps to old-school turn-based combat. It kind of combines Final
Fantasy and Pokemon. It has some interesting things I haven't seen
before. Instead of merely defeating villains, you can also negotiate
with enemies for the money, items, or for you to join them.

The levels are all unique taking place in different formats, such as a
castle, a museum, a bank, etc. They all offer unique aspects in their
design. It's not just the same corridors.

I commend the game for requiring more strategy than some RPGs. But fighting
can be frustrating. There is a lot of level grinding in this. A lot.
Difficulty can be inconsistent, foes can go from easy to hard at the
drop of a hat. Though once you've leveled enough, things get fairly
easy. The most difficult parts are the first level when you don't have
much a chance of leveling up and the space level where the majority of
villains are immune to physical attacks. (Plus the level is a bit of a
slog in general. Prepare for some frustration.)

    GRAPHICS:

The game looks great. It has an anime style to it as well as a lot of
anime cut-scenes. It has this very stylish look to this. The monsters are all designed after mythological/religious beings and are both bizarre and impressive. The dungeon levels stand out as some of the most unique I've seen. They take place in the subconscious and have this fantastic quality to them. They also throw you in the deep end with this. Needed more in-depth tutorials. SOUND: This game has an acid jazz soundtrack and it sounds pretty cool and high-energy throughout. PLOT: Characters are strong. The theme of the story is them fighting corruption. Things get progressively tense as the threat rises and the plot points seem earned. Though a long game (the final bit really stretches out), they at least make your struggle worth it. (Unlike Ni No Kuni for instance). There a lot of animated cut-scenes and the ending is suitably robust. Persona 5 is a cinematic, immersive experience that I recommend.

    1. Really long stretches of story telling. I like me a game with a good story, but sometimes it feels that the story drives on for - what feels like - an hour before you can do much more than click through the dialogue.
    2. Save spots are either placed too close or too far apart. In the dungeons (called palaces in this game) the user can only save in designated areas. These are just not well spaced. Which would maybe not be a problem if it wasn't for...
    3. The moment your main character is defeated in battle it's Game Over. I feel this is a bad mechanic for any RPG where you control a party and reviving characters is possible. It might not be as big an inconvenience if this wouldn't set you back so much in the game, since the saving areas are so far apart.

There are other things which are demanding and obviously this is not a game for casual playing but while I whole-heartedly can recommend a lot of other games I feel like such a great title should have these things smoothed out.

Where 5 really feels lack luster is it trying to copy it's narrative of 4. Where 4 gave character motivations and showed how how each character was ashamed of part of who they are, while persona 5 has character get their persona by getting mad or fed up with something. The other problem is how the dungeon bosses have little to no personality to other being the most evil person alive with no redeemable qualities. But where persona 5 does shine is in it's game play the mechanics have been fine tuned and combat feels faster and more fun. Dungeon design is much more interesting with each dungeon feeling different from the last. While the game is easier making it better for newcomers to hop into the series it takes away some of the charm by doing so. This game hands out social links like candy, while other games you had to find them this one makes it easier to find and pretty noticeable to who will be a social link. This game is a good JRPG but a bad persona game, you play RPG's for the story and with a story as weak as this it's hard to say if it's worth playing, What makes this game above average is the gameplay, but if you don't care for gameplay then Persona 4 or 3 would be the better choice, but if it's important then this one over the other two. and while this is a great game.. don’t quite believe the hype..
In Persona 5 you play a highschool stuident that gets framed for assult when he defends a woman from an abusive man, hes on probation and under watch while he attends highschool…
youre the new kid in school with a bad boy reputation… here you meet some friends that are dealing with a horribly abusive gym teacher…
and coincidentally enough you find a strange app on your phone and it takes you to some crazy castle that you learn is actually how this teacher perceives the school.
youre in his palace… this palace is crawling with creatures known as shadows that keep its treasure guarded..
that treasure being the targets heart..
youre here to change it and make them confess their wrong doings..
there are 8 palaces total in this game if you count mementos which is a grinding area that you can eventually visit any time…
and as you progress the game new members will slowly join your party
each of you has your own persona which is basically like a pokemon…
you have to make your way through these maze like palaces in search for your treasure and not get caught by these shadows..
if your meter reaches 100% and your target is aware of your presense its game over.. so its important to stealth around and attack from behind.. especially at the risk of losing hours of progress as the dungeons can be multiple hours long
but there are save rooms in these dungeons just incase that you can fast travel to and from if you need a break or need to head back to the real world and stock up on more items…
and again like pokemon this is turn based and each persona has strengths, weaknesses, and special moves you can use during battle that they learn as you level up..
and your main character can even catch these shadows if you hit them with a weakness or weaken them to a point that they give up.. you then have to talk to them and tell them what they want to hear to remind them that they are personas as well…
you can then take your captured personas and use them in battle, freely switch them in and out to find your enemies weakness.. or even combine them for new and more powerful personas up to your current level…
the combat system here is actually nothing that special at all.. its flashy and cool at first.. but it gets dull pretty quickly..
thankfully youre able to fast forward battle to make your party do basic physical attacks to not waste your sp which is used to pull off moves from your personas
and each palace does end in a boss battle…
but this dungeon crawling and persona battles isn’t all this game is about.. if it were persona 5 wouldn’t be special at all…
its this with whats outside of these dungeons that makes this game so great..
youre living life as a school kid..
youre paying attention in class answering questions, youre studying and reading books to boost your stats, youre getting part time jobs for cash to spend on weapons and gear, increasing your kindness, and going to the bathhouse for more charm,
but youre also meeting up with your teammates, going on dates, helping characters out to boost your bond which in turn boosts their terrot card stats to give you perks back in the metaverse
it’s the balance of all of these things that make persona 5 a great game…
none of these parts on their own are any great at all..
I felt the story lost steam after the komoshida arch as he was a such a perfect villain…
    I legitimately hated him
it starts to pick up again towards the middle of this 100 hour journey…
but it doesn’t reach the height of this games first 10 hours…
and the dungeons were never really fun and I grew bored of the combat after around 20 hours…
it’s the back and forth of managing your time with the right activities and people that keep you hooked…
Persona 5 I still believe isn’t as great as everyone makes it out to be…
im not even really sure the type of player to recommend this to..
the jrpg and social aspects mixed together make this game really special and something more than just a turn based combat game…
    I give Persona 5
    an 8.5/10

Anyways, I told myself that I would only buy it if it had over 30 hours of game play, I'm pretty slow at beating games. When I looked it up, the average time to beat Persona 5 was 93 hours. Keeping true to my word, I bought it.

This is literally the best RPG I have ever played. The characters are amazing, and their progression and development is the best I have ever seen in a game. The story is gripping, and the combat is beautiful, turn based fun. I do not regret buying this game at all.

    BUT

if you have a strong hate for anime, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. it is so good, but it has very strong anime influences to the story (i.e. the high school kid at a new school part of the plot, etc), which I can see some people disliking. Some cut-scenes are made like a literal anime show as well. It's so much more than that, but if you hate anime, I cannot recommend, since the story is such a huge part of the game's charm.

If you love anime, or even don't mind it, give this game a try. It is very, very good.

An emotional game that shows the spirit of freedom, and bonds that we make on others mixed with a badass turn based combat system that had made me always excited to fight in even after the hundreds of fights I have already done. The music is outstanding and is one of the best RPG and game soundtracks of all time for me now.

The social sim mixed JRPG adventure has proven to be a wake-up call for me as a individual, as it has made me far more open and free whenever I play it. While this may sound sappy and increidibly cheesy, Persona 5 stole my heart. A charm that has not struck me this hard for a long time. Sure it has plenty of rough areas and with the restrictions Atlus placed on the game, its hard not to cry foul on why this deserves a 10. I honestly would not blame anyone who thinks Morgana is annoying, or the beginning starts off very slow and even turn off the game for how it handles time. But I think those that love a good adventure (with a decent story littered with great characters) will appreciate it.

It's better to note that I have never played a Persona game, so as a newcomer who only heard about the series and playing this twice for a thorough experience, let me once again say this game is a (flawed) masterpiece that I enjoyed the hell out of AND see as a work of art that doesn't use beautiful landscapes or graphics to show it, but art designs, wonderful characters, snappy combat, outstanding music and addicting activities that puts Persona 5 in leagues above most games. Maybe I'm a Phanboy, but even with a few flaws I do find glaring, my overall enjoyment, emotional depth and cleverness by Hashino and his team proves Persona 5 is one of the best RPGs and games of all time.

I played the game for over 100 hours and didn't get any fatigue until the last 5 or so.

I highly recommend this game if you are a fan of the rpg genre.

Maybe the best JRPG ever, and maybe the most stylistic game ever as well. The game is well paced and fun for the entire 100+ hour playthrough, which is astonishing. Takes one of the most beloved and iconic JRPG series and improves upon it in every way. Alternates between your high school / social experience and going into dungeons. Quirky, amazing, and a game everyone should experience.

A first timer in Persona series and I can surely say that the brilliance level of this game is incredible. A refreshing approach from standard RPG games battles, real time or turn based, it doesn't matter. Strategies ranging from targeting enemy weakness to gain new turns to selecting the best partners for each battle.
A nice story that scales in importance and greatness. Not surprising

    Definitely worth trying it.

    This RPG is rediculously over-rated.
It is not immersive, it is not fun, and the dungeons are repetitive.
The battle system is repetitive. The dialog is repetitive. The game is a recap of a recap Only the first dungeon in the game is fun, which is, i assume, when most people write their reviews. Everything after the first dungeon is the same thing over and over and over again.

This game is NOT fun . And honestly any mediocre RPG, i.e. disgea, the tales series, anything is better than this .
Even the worst game in the "Tales of" series is better than this.

I put 40 hours into it before i got rid of it .

100% hyped up trash. nothing like any RPG ive ever played before including other games from thepersona and shin megami tensei series.

I can't believe how high the scores are on here . This game is a boring recap ofa recap

    What could improve this game?...

When you have something great you still want more.
    1. Give the player a full year.
    2. Use a hourly schedule or by the hour instead of days.
    3. Allow players to go over tired if they force themselves downstairs etc when over tired but allow them to do what tasks they wish. (no bed time).
    4. Show what happens when main character goes home.
    5. Allow switching party members from field before battle without having to go to entrance (but still require confidant or having to waste turns in battle.
    6. New game plus add a few extra main dungeons not just X secret.
    7. More variant in battle themes (fixed with paid dlc)

After seeing such high scores on this site I decided that I would give it a try. personally for me I made a mistake and found this game to not be something that was for me.

the Anima style has never been my favorite and felt that I was on a hype train when I was playing it. I still gave it a decent score since I can see the overall concept and how appealing it can be to a lot of people

I would say before you buy this game you just have to ask yourself how into Anima are you. if you answer "I like it but not big into it" that's still enough for you to rock out this game.

Oh man. Atlus might of made the greatest JRPG of All-Time. This game oozes with style. The vibrant colors in the cognitive world is awesome. The day to day life is so engaging and you really feel invested with the characters and you start to grow to love them. Even blowing off your real life friends for them. Persona 5 is an absolutely amazing game that convinces with its art style, music and story. It has anything one could ask for such a game and more. The turn-based battle system offers a wide array of opportunities. While it may not be everyone's cup of tea, it is definitely recommended to give it a go.

Persona 5 beats every other turn-based RPG in terms of production values, combat, story, symbolics, character design, music, pace and variety. 2017 is a great year for gaming and Persona 5 confirms this with a load of unmatched swagger.
