Sep 2, 2020No Straight Roads is a mischievous celebration of creativity that is rarely seen these days. Full of breathtaking energy and fabulous personality, it travels back into time when games were wild, bold, and ingenious, and revives inventive madness to the next level. No Straight Roads feels like a fresh new song that crops up in a radio’s playlist that’s usually full of commercial crud. It may be a one-hit-wonder but the game fully deserves its platinum disc and five-star review. To quote Bunk Bed Junction’s catchphrase, bunka, junka, shakalaka!

Jan 29, 2021No Straight Roads is a big and colorful musical experience with heavy JRPG influences that lets you fight the man, give power to the people of Vinyl City and bring joy, all with the sweet power of rock and roll.

Aug 25, 2020No Straight Roads is an outstanding action game with some rhythm game mechanics, filled with love for the music and an amazing art direction.
-
Aug 26, 2020No Straight Roads is like an indie band that if given a chance, you’ll end up being a fan for life. It’s not perfect, but there’s enough there to ensure you have a good time. It certainly stands out in a crowd of titles where colors are muted and personalities are lacking. In a battle of Rock vs EDM, I’ll side with rock every time!

Playstation Official Magazine UKSep 18, 2020A colourful sonic wave of imagination and joy with possibly the best soundtrack of any videogame this year, No Straight Roads is sure to pluck your strings in the best possible way. [Issue#180, p.70]

Sep 9, 2020No Straight Roads is one of my favourite indies of the year and it made me have renewed faith in game developers' sense of creativity.
-
Sep 4, 2020No Straight Roads evolves greatly around music, and every other element of the game works in a way to support it. If you are the type of guy who turns the music on and forgets about the world around them, then No Straight Roads is for you.
-
Aug 31, 2020No Straight Roads is a rockin’ good time with a friend, but beware of the many glitches, bad camera, and attacks not syncing up with the music.
-
Aug 25, 2020No Straight Roads is an absolutely stunning game, featuring tremendous art direction, rock solid storytelling, phenomenal visual style and an incredible soundtrack.
-
Aug 25, 2020A wonderfully cheerful rhythm action game that channels the best of Jet Set Radio and Parappa the Rapper but still maintains its own distinctive style.
-
Aug 25, 2020It’s not perfect then, but I highly recommend you play No Straight Roads on the biggest, loudest TV you can find and get completely lost in a staggeringly good, unstoppable psychedelic rock n roll extravaganza.
-
Sep 16, 2020No Straight Roads is a charming celebration of music with a polished flair for exposition that kept me thoroughly impressed. While the third-person combat is palling, other elements such as co-op and well-crafted boss stages just about make up for that. And while it only lasts for six hours, this action-adventure burns out and does not fade away; it rocks.
