    With manageable levels that feels like a puzzle themselves, simplistic gameplay, and challenges that will attract dedicated players, Ninja Senki DX is a pretty well rounded package for such a small price tag.

    As you’d expect the gameplay is relatively simple and, apart from moving left and right, just two buttons are used for jumping and shooting. This in itself wouldn’t be a problem if the game didn’t also bring back many other retro elements best left in the past. Enemies leaping and hitting you from offscreen, the trial and error nature of many sections, severe difficultly spikes, sparse checkpoints etc may all be in keeping with the games aesthetic but in 2018 it just makes for a frustrating experience and will only really appeal to the most hardcore of old school platformer fan.    … Full Review »

Excellent, responsive controls and a brutal hardcore challenge make up for some middling and occasionally unfair level design. You might get frustrated, but it measures your skills fairly.
