    Add some ish, take it away, bring it back, update some graphics, and call the game "new," or "different."

Looking at these critic reviews... 90, 80,75 ...... how can you give a game a review over a 5 when even the developers are saying they are working around the clock to fix this game. This game is beyonndddd broken! The shot meter is a disaster. Micro transactions are EVERYWHERE... my opinion????     Huge lover of NBA 2K and been playing since 2k9. This is probably the most obvious that 2K has ever been around micro transactions. Every single time you log in? It's there. Before I go into the negatives? Definitely start with the few positives.

    -Graphics/Details to players -Ability to download user created rosters/legendary rosters Thats it truly. The negatives in this game are    Huge lover of NBA 2K and been playing since 2k9.     Thats it truly. The negatives in this game are astounding and it is sad to see the franchise fall so far. Gameplay is the exact same as previous entries of the last three to four years. They have added so many different badges and abilities now that they water down the original ones. With the micro transactions they have focused on MyTeam and MyPlayer more than anything in terms of game modes which really aren't that good either. The Franchise Mode/Online Play now features have not been updated outside of a change in the stock images they use and that's about it. 2K use to so great because of how players felt unique/themselves. Steph Curry could hit deep threes, Lebron was a tank etc... Now? You have to find guides or a user who edited all the players jump shots, packages etc to make them feel like themselves. Its a lot of work to put into a game that literally prides itself in being a basketball simulator. Some other basic things are truly broken in this game during gameplay as well including layups, dunks and just overall defense.

    Is this correctable for 2K? Absolutely but they need to realize that they can include a game with micro transactions can exist if they focus on other sides of the game for offline players as well. I doubt they will focus on anything else anytime soon though as this has been a progressive pattern for them for the last five years.

    One can hope. I gave this a 5/10 for the pure fact that the graphics are still some of the best while the cons truly outweighs the rest.    … Expand

    + Improved gameplay and slight graphical improvement.
    - No update to my favorite and most fleshed out mode, MyLeague
    - horrible horrible microtransactions. Game practically begs you to keep spending money.

    I've loved 2K as a company and developer since NBA 2K in 1999, but it seems they are slowly turning into EA.

    They keep getting rid of features and replacing them with gambling mechanics. Pay to win, loot boxes, and a straight up casino in a $60 game. While for some reason they get rid of Release timing (Normal, Quick, etc.) in rosters... Sometimes I wonder if 2K is actually a money laundering scheme

    The game has many features but unfortunately to access most you have to dish out ridiculous amounts of money, and in most cases pray you get something of value in return. The more time you spend playing the game the less basketball you get to experience in this add/micro transaction filled mess for which players have already had to dish out 60$. Its an absolute disgrace.

    The game play is fine to me but all the other stuff you have to deal with to play the game stinks. If you play mycareer your success will not be based on your skill but whether you grind out badges. Without the badges your NBA player can't beat a 5 year old that has never touched a basketball. I truly believe that if they would take out half of the clutter in this game, all of the fake badge progression and gambling odds and most importantly the attribute boosts, this game wouldn't be so broken. Just scrap the whole boosts logic it undermines grinding and building your character when you can basically pay your way to winning. It seemed as if my player played well when I boosted and played like a 60 overall when I didn't have boost. It seemed like buying boost activates your stats, and if not equipped your stats are actually worse. I honestly think the overall they show us is actually a false representation of what your player truly is rated.the faulty movent mechanics and go back to how it was in 2k19. Update the atmosphere in the park, atleast the things we see in high volume. We would rather have a new environment or several world's to play in, a la NBA Streets, Streets 2.… Expand

All those Galaxy Opal's, Pink Diamonds gone start all over and majority takes forever to get anyways. Once you do people would majority of the time leave the game instantly seeing your most powerful 99's.     So refreshing to see some actual basketball in this ONLINE CASINO SIMULATOR. Also great that it is rated "E" for Everyone so my kids can experience the immersive and addictive nature of GAMBLING so early in their life. Graphics are ok for a 2019 game.

    Ever since I downloaded the game the day it was released it's been crashing on me causing my playstation to freeze and restart. This happens every time I play. I literally can't play the game unless all I'm doing is simulating in my league. If there's any actual gameplay it freezes and crashes.

    I've reached out to 2K about this issue, and they've been no help. All they've done is send me automated responses which ignore what I've written and explained. They asked me for video of the issue and I provided it, but they tried to play it off as a problem on playstations side, so they weren't going to help even though the only game this has ever happened with on my console is NBA 2K20. I contacted support at sony and they were great. They helped me walk through the steps that I could take to fix my problem, but the game is still freezing. I sen't 2K another email today telling them that they were wrong and that the issue wasn't with my console and the response I got was the exact same email I got from them the first time I contacted support.

    I spent $100 on the game, but I can't play it. 2K is basically ripping me off. Don't let them do the same to you.    … Expand

    I bought 2k20 about 3 months ago and here is my impression. I think that the development as far as dribbling and change in acceleration with players decent and smoother than some previous games. I think that there could be some more work done as far as the consistency of certain players especially in all time teams. You pay full price for a AAA G game, but then in order to really start having some fun, you have to purchase vc if you want any type of fair or even play. It's ridiculous. In the neighborhood mode which is my preferred mode to play, before you can even get competitive you have to spend hours upon hours of playing against the cpu and performing tedious tasks, get bad progression points which are very important and then just maybe you can be somewhat competitive. Not to mention that dribble moves were removed from 2k19, jumpshots are inconsistent and forget about attempting to play without the quick draw badge because jumpshots take forever to release. There's barely anyone at the parks, the neighborhood is the same as 2k19 it's insulting that they charged full price for a game that's essentially a downgrade of the previous year's version. If you're reading this review, avoid at all cost. If you need your basketball fix, i suggest you keep playing 2k19. That's what I'm doing now.… Expand

    The worst 2k I have ever played. Players are extremely slow. Players are slowed down on the break. You can clearly tell basketball minds had nothing to do with this game. Just a bunch of computer nerds who have no idea how the game of basketball is played. Never been more frustrated with a video game in my life

    When I finally create an account I jump on MyCareer. Before you play any game    Actual gameplay is good but so much **** surrounding it that its frustrating to try to play.

    When I finally create an account I jump on MyCareer. Before you play any game you need to sit through about 10 cut-scenes, each of which has to be skipped separately. Then at the end of each game the 2K server times out and I get sent back to the home screen and then I have to go back into MyCareer mode. All this means is for about 10 minutes worth of gameplay there is 20 minutes of **** to work through. Definitely not worth it.
    Had similar connection issues with MyTeam mode. Then add on top of that the casino crap and the fact that everything is a grind to get anywhere its just not worth the hassle.
    The only mode I found enjoyable was the quickplay mode but even then there are way too many pointless cut-scenes like the halftime shows, timeouts, etc that take too long to skip. Half the time I am just mashing X to try to get back to playing the game.

The shot meter in this game is so inconsistent you really have to make the shot meter green every time. Now into Mycareer the one good thing my career has to offer is story I feel like if they actually would try every once and a while they would able to produce a good story like 2k17.     WNBA is really fun to play, but it's only available in PlayNow ._.

    **** Myteam. That **** sucks ass in every single way possible.

    Overall the game is pretty good, just way too many bugs, not a lot of updates besides the ones made to gameplay, but those updates were good so... meh, I'm not that pissed about it.    … Expand

    NBA 2K20 includes fewer innovations than a "copy/paste club", yet manages to still play and feel pretty great. Gambling and microtransactions involved are becoming more and more toxic with each year tho.
