I just played the ME1 through in a ps4 legendary edition and went to me2.

Limited ammo. Freaking limited ammo, in the world that invented a mass effect technology, which made limited ammo literally obsolete. It's like shooting flintlock riffle after an automatic. And when the gun is out of ammo("heatsinks")? Yo guess it it stops shooting.

I never played Mass effect, and I tried in this new edition. It was the best game I played this year. I was addicted from the start. I did not have any bug which it means they took their time to fix everything and the DLC were great as well. But I confess the best is mass effect 2, the renegate options are more fun than for the 1 or 3 games. Also the interaction with characters is the best.

My first entry into Mass Effect was Andromeda in 2020 (all the bugs were fixed).

Vanguard in Legendary edition is very limited and so are skills and weapons to choose from.
Playing the original trilogy feels indeed that the games are older (mechanics, combat, skills, facial and moving animations) but I am playing it because of good sci-fi story.

The graphics with the remaster is decent. It is fun, overhyped, but fun.

The story and characters are best in Mass Effect 2.
The combat is best in Mass Effect 3.

I am enjoying the good galaxy story.

A Classic, a game that you don’t want it to end, ( opposite feeling of what I have with AC games where you suffer with their unnecessary length and grinding ), this game is the only reason I got a 360 back then and now I can replay them on my ps5 , so happy they made it.

I had never done the original trilogy at the time. It was therefore an excellent opportunity for me to take and make the legendary edition and what a slap. Not only is the story exciting, but also the characters are extremely well written and endearing. I finished the trilogy recently and I already miss Normandy. Congratulations to bioware for creating three exciting and exciting games next time.

Overall this is a great way to experience this masterpiece of a franchise. It isn't perfect tho, during my playthrough of ME1 I experienced quite a few bugs which is something that had never happened to me in the past - even game breaking ones. ME2 fared much better but still had awkward graphical hiccups and the same goes for ME3. Would have been nice for this to have been a bit more polished since it obviously needs some patches but even in this state I'd call it the best way to play gaming's greatest trilogy.

It's a shame this wasn't remastered for the ps5, but the game has some nice improvements and mostly plays great.
The problem with this series is that the last game was poor storywise, which is a shame after everything you go through in the first two games.

This is not only interesting from a gaming perspective but also from a game history perspective. Bioware's greatest achievement is back for us to appreciate in 2021, an era that is so unparalleled in its creative bankruptcy that nostalgia is the only legitimate currency.

So let's get nostalgic for three chapters of a saga that initiated in the mid to late 2000s, the era of the iPod and the first iPhone, where MySpace was still more popular than Facebook, and people were queuing up at brick and mortar bookstores to buy the last Harry Potter novel. It was a very different age in many ways.

Bioware{s Mass Effect was highly regarded when it was released in 2007, and rightfully so. It was an ambitious title, limited only by the technology of the day. A wildly imaginative space opera, filled with incredible lore, beautifully realized characters and wonderful writing. The gameplay was good enough, but the game design and world-building set it apart from anything we had seen before. Characters like Garrus and Liara would become as iconic as any characters in the pantheon of science fiction. The Normandy would become as well-known as the Enterprise. Shepard as admired as Kirk.

With a sure-fire hit on their hands, the company put everything they had into the next installment. Mass Effect 2 is that rare and precious commodity, a sequel that takes the best of its predecessor and elevates it to legendary status. An incredible achievement. Sadly at the time, to get the most out of it, you were forced to buy the DLC, so that you could reunite with Liara and enjoy some of the most thrilling storylines in the saga. Fortunately, all that DLC is included in the Legendary Edition package on PS4.

This was 2010, and across the board, film, TV and video games were reaching a creative apex. With the massive success of Mass Effect 2, the developers were left with the daunting task of finishing what they had started. Released in 2012, Mass Effect 3 perhaps suffers from being a little unfocused and slightly underwhelming in its final act. I have seen three of the possible endings to the game and I'm afraid none of them quite had the impact I was hoping for. There's still plenty to recommend, though, with dozens of weapons to chose from, lots of varied missions, unexpected shipmates, old friends, and new enemies.

The most impressive aspect of Mass Effect is how relationships, dialog choices and actions transfer from one game to the other. This is the first time I've been able to play all three games in the correct order, and it's incredible how the effect of choices made in the first and second games ripples through to the final game. It is quite awe inspiring at times.

I've really enjoyed rediscovering these games and appreciating their greatness. We'll never see the like of them again. There's a passion to them that is highly unlikely to be replicated in the corporate climate that we find ourselves in today. I'm grateful that they have only updated textures and refined a few minor things for modern hardware rather than edit or modify the games in any negative way. Mass Effect Legendary Edition remains a true snapshot of a golden age of game development, a testament to real creativity and raw talent, and that alone is worth the asking price.

It started off okay but kept on getting better over time. I did all the side quests, most tbh were a chore to get through apart from the DLC one. Your best option is to skip those but I wanted to try it anyway.

I played with Wrex and Liara the entire way, was probably the best option as Wrex and the Krogan seemed like the most interesting and tragic race, and Wrex’s clash in Virmir was solid. Liara was solid too with her knowledge of the Protheans, which is useful in Ilos.

The lore and story behind Reapers vs Protheans were solid too. Nice twist with Citadel being a relay. Saren by the end was pretty compelling too, he saw himself as the hero, and he felt justified to help the reapers, so that Organics may survive, but by the end you realise he's been indoctrinated.

I played the game for 30 hours, it might have paced better at 20 hours. The graphics and animations don't age well at all, pretty bad for its time too tbh. Sometimes the animations and movements of characters in this game are soo bad that it's funny. Voice acting can get rough at times. But for other characters like Wrex and Saren, their voice acting is good. The game needs a lot more quality-of-life improvements:
    - You can't see what you did on a planet until you land.
    - After you complete a planet, it should tell you if you did so and if there are any missing objectives I could still do.
    - Icons on the map and inconsistent too. Sometimes an x means you did the objective while other times it's a point of interest.

But it's compensated with its compelling way of telling the story in main missions and giving you pivotal decisions to make. Also, its worldbuilding of the different races was spot on.

    Mass Effect 2 - 7/10
Mass Effect 1 to me was better. The only solid loyalty missions were Mordin’s and Grunt’s.

    Loyalty Mission Reviews
    Grunt - 9/10
I already found Krogans really interesting so seeing their homeworld tuchanka I knew was gonna be fun. Seeing Wrex, the shaman and others react to Grunts predicament created amazing dialogue exchanges. Krogans, especially Wrex and Grunt are Peak in Mass Effect!
    Mordin - 8/10
There was a pretty good debate between Shepherd and Mordin. Normally Shepherd is more passive but this time he felt like he had a strong stance and so did Mordin, leading to clashing ideals. Seeing the ramifications of the Genophage and seeing Mordin still try to rationalise it was compelling.
But then Mordins student was a direct foil to Mordin, and I loved it! He had way better counterpoints than Shephard. The exchange was very grey, where honestly it looked like the student was the good guy, even though the testing method was questionable.
    Garrus - 7/10
His was good cuz I saved Solidus. Not too sure if it would have been good otherwise, I exhausted all dialogue to the point it subverted expectations where Solidus was a good guy.
    Liara - 7/10
The Shadow Broker was anticlimactic. But the DLC improves when Shepherd vents his frustration to Liara on Normandy.
    Miranda - 7/10
Solid mission with sweet ending of savings Mirandas sis.
    Samara - 7/10
Gameplay was fun, at least it wasn't just a shooter or trailing mission.
    Kasumi - 6/10
Really nice and short mission. Didn't expect a stealth infiltration mission in ME. But I couldn't care less about Kasumi.
    Jacob - 6/10
Would have been better if we knew more concretely what his dad was thinking.
    Jack - 6/10
    Pretty predictable. Nothing interesting.
    Thane - 5/10
The kid and his issues towards his father were not developed enough. The tailing mission gameplay was boring and basic. Disappointing since Thane seemed pretty interesting. Especially his 1-to-1s, those are really damn good.
    Zaed - 5/10
I don't even know the guy lol. The revenge plot with Garrus was done better.
    Tali - 5/10
Boring characters and dialogue before boarding Aleria. Tali's dad being the culprit was very predictable.

I don't know why this one is highly regarded, not much of a suicide mission if everyone lives, plus it was just 3 short submissions and the final boss was dull. ME1 lore about Saren, Protheans and Reapers was more compelling than ME2’s collectors being Prothean. Plus all we really learned is that Harbinger is coming by the end. Nothing I did felt like it really mattered tbh.

    ME3 - 7/10
ME3 somehow is even more linear than ME2. The ending of the synthesis of organics and robots was goofy. But the other endings were not any better. At least they had the Genophage cure in this game. The sequences for that were top-tier. But then it was taken over by the Qurain storyline which was not even nearly as good.

    Trilogy
Not too sure why anyone would say this is a masterclass of storytelling. It does have high peaks but also has very low and persistent peaks too. Your best off watching Dr Who instead.
