    If you allow yourself to remember that the series is over 10 years old - the entire trilogy was a solid play through. Sure people will complain about the animation but the dialogue and gameplay (2&3) as well as the entire story and mission length was hitting all the marks.

    Buy this if you haven’t played it and don’t care about the odd facial animations or cheesy pre-2010 cut scenes.     I've always been a fan of the Mass Effect Trilogy and when I heard that they were comming out with a remaster I preordered it as soon as possible. The improvements they put into the first game are superb. I have a very hard time putting the game down and go to sleep at times. A definite 10 out of 10.

    I can’t believe that there are not unlimited subtitles available yet on games. I expect to see this issue bring down the user rating of everyone to zero. The game itself though is great.

    BEST GAME EVER. With a terrible canon ending. The best ending is obviously the blue one. They are probably going to go with the red one for the plot of the forth game. Who cares. Awesome story with even more awesome characters. Thank you for everything, Bioware.

    Never experienced the original version and this remaster was a total blast to play. The 1st game feels pretty dated even with remaster and controls were clunky. 2nd and 3rd games were awesome. 2nd game was definitely the best of all.

    A pioneer in great story telling and must play for lovers of Sci-fi, Mass effect is back. The beautiful art and unforgettable characters make this one of the best series to ever grace platforms. With tons of side quests and multiple outcomes, replayability is high. The ending was a little to be left desired and seemed to be rushed, hopefully to be fixed in the next installment.(Mass effectA pioneer in great story telling and must play for lovers of Sci-fi, Mass effect is back.     I seldom give a score of 10 to any game but ME Legendary Edition is truly astounding, especially if you're already a fan. If you're a 10 year old Fortnite player you'll probably hate it. That makes me love it even more.

    The mass effect trilogy I think is easily one of the best games ever made, it is Bioware at their best, the game world even by todays standards is mind blowing the amount of detail they put into even the smallest things, the soundtrack is perfect and omg the writing is some of the best there is in the industry and so funny (depending on choices) I have always been a massive fan of the 1stThe mass effect trilogy I think is easily one of the best games ever made, it is Bioware at their best, the game world even by todays standards is mind blowing the amount of detail they put into even the smallest things, the soundtrack is perfect and omg the writing is some of the best there is in the industry and so funny (depending on choices) I have always been a massive fan of the 1st game, it has more (traditional) rpg mechanics than the other 2 and I always preferred the weapons system as well and at the time of release it was so ahead of its time I still remember running around the citadel for the first time with my jaw on the ground with the epic music and that feeling very quickly returned, the mako planet exploring as well I think was such a nice addition and now looks amazing! the 2nd game removed some of the rpg stuff and went down more the 3rd person shooter route, simpler weapons system etc, but keeps the feeling of the original and adds so much more, the 3rd game now in its current state as they done alot of work to improve the ending from the original release is a nice end to the trilogy, its great how the simplest doesnt seem that important choice made in game 1 can have massive consequences in later games, playing on ps5 I personally chose to favour resolution and all 3 games look amazing in 4k they done an amazing job bringing the visuals up to todays tv's ( i think i played the original on 360 on a crt through scart connection.... lol) but this is subjective and it seemed to easily run at 60fps in performance with no notable drops, I was genuinely shocked how well me3 still stands up visually today just like the other 2 games all were so ahead of their time (although the 1st game now blown up to 4k the faces do show their age abit but it was so impressive at the time), and with all dlc included for all 3 games you get the amazing citadel dlc for me3 which has got to be up there with the greatest dlcs ever made, if you fell in love with the world /chars and enjoy/ laugh at the Bioware writing you will love it, after finishing the 3rd game I sat there for a while thinking about how its actually quite a sad thing what alot of games have become, technically/visually stunning but so many mindless multiplayer generic maps, so many yearly updates, charging money for a skin as big companies try to squeeze every penny they can out of their generic games, no originality, what happened to the amazing creativity that these games show, (my only little complaint is something that drove me mad back when me3 was first released was not being able to holster your weapon in combat zones was kinda hoping they had enabled that but its just a silly personal annoyance)

    I love the original trilogy and happy that we can now play all the games with all of the additional contents on modern platforms. Great games and good remaster.

    I never played Mass effect, and I tried in this new edition. It was the best game I played this year. I was addicted from the start. I did not have any bug which it means they took their time to fix everything and the DLC were great as well. But I confess the best is mass effect 2, the renegate options are more fun than for the 1 or 3 games. Also the interaction with characters is the best.

    My first entry into Mass Effect was Andromeda in 2020 (all the bugs were fixed).
    The combat system, class and profile system were superior in Andromeda. It had vast amount of skills, guns (more than 100 weapons) and armors to choose from with lots of possible combinations and variations. I played Andromeda for 130 hours mostly Vanguard style but also with shotguns, sniper rifles, assault    My first entry into Mass Effect was Andromeda in 2020 (all the bugs were fixed).

    Vanguard in Legendary edition is very limited and so are skills and weapons to choose from.
    Playing the original trilogy feels indeed that the games are older (mechanics, combat, skills, facial and moving animations) but I am playing it because of good sci-fi story.

    The graphics with the remaster is decent. It is fun, overhyped, but fun.

    The story and characters are best in Mass Effect 2.
    The combat is best in Mass Effect 3.

    A really nice remaster of the beloved ME trilogy! It's still one of the best RPGs of all time, and definitely my favourite RPG series keeping my favourite character throughout three games. There are some glitches, but it's nothing game breaking.

    It's a pitty there were so many problems with dubs, but I wouldn't give this game a negative rate because of it - you can still enjoy it with    A really nice remaster of the beloved ME trilogy! It's still one of the best RPGs of all time, and definitely my favourite RPG series keeping my favourite character throughout three games. There are some glitches, but it's nothing game breaking.

    A Classic, a game that you don’t want it to end, ( opposite feeling of what I have with AC games where you suffer with their unnecessary length and grinding ), this game is the only reason I got a 360 back then and now I can replay them on my ps5 , so happy they made it.

    I had never done the original trilogy at the time. It was therefore an excellent opportunity for me to take and make the legendary edition and what a slap. Not only is the story exciting, but also the characters are extremely well written and endearing. I finished the trilogy recently and I already miss Normandy. Congratulations to bioware for creating three exciting and exciting games next time.

    Just went through the 3 games and platinumed all of them. Last time was plaing them when they where cooming out. Such a great trilogy. Had a lot of fun with it. Love Mass effect, hope they bring it back someday with new good game

    Overall this is a great way to experience this masterpiece of a franchise. It isn't perfect tho, during my playthrough of ME1 I experienced quite a few bugs which is something that had never happened to me in the past - even game breaking ones. ME2 fared much better but still had awkward graphical hiccups and the same goes for ME3. Would have been nice for this to have been a bit more polished since it obviously needs some patches but even in this state I'd call it the best way to play gaming's greatest trilogy.

    P.S. : Don't listen to the russian trolls **** about russian dubs and reviewbombing the game. This is meant to be played in english, if you don't like it, don't play it and shut up.    … Expand

    I can't still remember the amazement I felt when first playing the first game on pc.
    It's a shame this wasn't remastered for the ps5, but the game has some nice improvements and mostly plays great.
    The problem with this series is that the last game was poor storywise, which is a shame after everything you go through in the first two games.
    This is still worth a play in my opinion and still holds up, just get it on a sale    … Expand

    I never played these games when they originally came out. I'm not a Sci fi fan, never seen a star wars. But this game trilogy may just be the best games I have ever played (especially ME2). The gameplay is extremely fun, the character are interesting and likeable and well acted.     So let's get nostalgic for three chapters of a saga that initiated in the mid to late 2000s, the era of the iPod and the first iPhone, where MySpace was still more popular than Facebook, and people were queuing up at brick and mortar bookstores to buy the last Harry Potter novel. It was a very different age in many ways.

    Bioware{s Mass Effect was highly regarded when it was released in 2007, and rightfully so. It was an ambitious title, limited only by the technology of the day. A wildly imaginative space opera, filled with incredible lore, beautifully realized characters and wonderful writing. The gameplay was good enough, but the game design and world-building set it apart from anything we had seen before. Characters like Garrus and Liara would become as iconic as any characters in the pantheon of science fiction. The Normandy would become as well-known as the Enterprise. Shepard as admired as Kirk.

    With a sure-fire hit on their hands, the company put everything they had into the next installment. Mass Effect 2 is that rare and precious commodity, a sequel that takes the best of its predecessor and elevates it to legendary status. An incredible achievement. Sadly at the time, to get the most out of it, you were forced to buy the DLC, so that you could reunite with Liara and enjoy some of the most thrilling storylines in the saga. Fortunately, all that DLC is included in the Legendary Edition package on PS4.

    This was 2010, and across the board, film, TV and video games were reaching a creative apex. With the massive success of Mass Effect 2, the developers were left with the daunting task of finishing what they had started. Released in 2012, Mass Effect 3 perhaps suffers from being a little unfocused and slightly underwhelming in its final act. I have seen three of the possible endings to the game and I'm afraid none of them quite had the impact I was hoping for. There's still plenty to recommend, though, with dozens of weapons to chose from, lots of varied missions, unexpected shipmates, old friends, and new enemies.

    The most impressive aspect of Mass Effect is how relationships, dialog choices and actions transfer from one game to the other. This is the first time I've been able to play all three games in the correct order, and it's incredible how the effect of choices made in the first and second games ripples through to the final game. It is quite awe inspiring at times.

    I've really enjoyed rediscovering these games and appreciating their greatness. We'll never see the like of them again. There's a passion to them that is highly unlikely to be replicated in the corporate climate that we find ourselves in today. I'm grateful that they have only updated textures and refined a few minor things for modern hardware rather than edit or modify the games in any negative way. Mass Effect Legendary Edition remains a true snapshot of a golden age of game development, a testament to real creativity and raw talent, and that alone is worth the asking price.    … Expand

    Played on PS5: Never played through the series before and I am glad I did when the Legendary edition released. What a terrific experiences and yes, Bioware at it's finest. Let's hope for more Mass Effect in the future which we already know is in development.

If I was really critical I would improve the fight dynamics, which were basic at best, and improve movement (Shepherd couldn't run for more than a few seconds in ME1 and ME2!).     i'm a newcomer to the series and i must say these games are incredible,the first one is superb a masterpiece and unreal for the time of the ps3,the second one is even better than the first one in almost every way, the third was good but nothing special, i am proud to have discovered this saga.

    I was really looking forward to the re-release of Mass Effect for the new generation of consoles, and I was infinitely excited about the announcement of the Legendary Edition.
    A sudden surprise for me, and for all Russian-speaking fans of the series, was the addition of one of the worst Russian localizations in the history of video games in the CIS. There are no limits to my frustration.    I was really looking forward to the re-release of Mass Effect for the new generation of consoles, and I was infinitely excited about the announcement of the Legendary Edition.
    A sudden surprise for me, and for all Russian-speaking fans of the series, was the addition of one of the worst Russian localizations in the history of video games in the CIS. There are no limits to my frustration. I really hope that Bioware and EA will listen to Russian-speaking fans and improve the situation by leaving only Russian subtitles and English dubbing in the game.
    P.S. I was sure that the Russian dubbing of Mass Effect by Snowball was destroyed long ago, as well as all of its backups, and that it remained only as an artifact on the shelves of fans.

    -English spoken dialogue can now be selected separately from subtitle language

    Now this is my favorite Remaster on the Citadel!

    Beautiful game, so many choices, the script is just amazing. You’re getting really attached to Shepard and the other crew member, they all have theirs own characters and personality and each relationship is so different.
    It’s a classic, I definitely recommend this game.

    The greatest video game trilogy in one title. Had to subtract one point for leaving out multiplayer but gave a point back for the sheer volume of great content!

    Maybe skip Mass effect 1 and use the interactive comic.

    8/10. As a player of the original trilogy, I had to give this edition a try. And I loved it. Everything has improved, ME1 combat feels more adequate... although the maps clearly haven't been designed with the ME2/ME3 style of combat in mind. Gaming fits right between film and literature in terms of deliverable exposition and with the Legendary Edition including all DLC’s as well as an expanded ending, players can truly immerse themselves in this deep and beautiful narrative. Characters are both interesting on a surface level and profound in their respective backstories and motivations. The universe it takes place in is rich and worth looking under every rock. Every visual seems completely intentional with how it fits in the world. Dialogue is well written and performances are gripping. The freedom of choice offers different perspective and experience but it never takes away from the writer’s direction. Gameplay evolves each game while also having its own charm and intricacies to be discovered as you move between them. Specifically with combat, it feels like every aspect was carefully tuned to make sure the players experience remained both fun and engaging. It rewards skill and creativity with preferred builds. Sound design is incredible. Everything hits hard where it needs to and adds a subtle touch where it doesn’t. Gun sounds are pounding and unique. Ambience is perfectly immersive. Music is iconic. Not at all. I recommend buying this trilogy instead of the original 3, you'll save a lot of money by doing so.

    Also, a side note regarding all these negative reviews: this is not a place to vent your frustration about a missing feature or something that you don't like. This game isn't a broken mess, it runs well and it isn't a cash grab. Rating the game 0 or 1 out of 10 just because you can't change VOs or because your language isn't available in the game is not only a childish behavior but also can lead less informed people (but people that don't mind playing game with X Voice Over or english subs) to think somehow that this game is broken or something, which isn't true at all. So you're better off voicing your concerns over EA's forum, not here. And for my fellow brazilians that are complaining about the lack of portuguese subtitles in these games, all i gotta say is: stop being lazy, pay for some decent english classes because that's the kind of knowledge that will stay with you forever. Some things feel a bit dated in the first game like the controls and animations and sometimes the objective can be a little confusing leaving you running around wondering what to do for 10 minutes. Other than that an awesome game that's well worth buying.

    Amazing all the "Zeros" just because of languages and subtitles. For them it doesn't matter that this edition has all 3 games and DLCs, beautifully remastered.

High frames is smooth but you don't notice it much after you play on 30fps after awhile, only right after you switch. ME3 was pretty so ultimately kept it at 4k30fps.     For about seven years, the Mass Effect trilogy was my favorite series of all time. As a space opera of truly epic proportions, the trilogy has its ups and downs, but as a whole, is one of the best series ever made.

    The original Mass Effect had a task of introducing a new universe filled with opportunities to the players. And it understood the assignment perfectly. Within a couple of hours, you have interacted with every race occupying the known universe. You are given quests to deal with some of their problems, giving you more insight on their culture. It feels very natural.

    For the main story, you become a special agent for the government and you are sent to hunt another of your kind. Getting to visit a world after world, resulting in you being even more grounded in the reality of this universe. This game features one of my favorite villain speeches as well as one of the most iconic decisions in gaming. The main story ends in a perfect crescendo that sends you off to the next game.

    Mass Effect 2 had the hard time of following one of the most competent introductions ever made. And it succeeded with flying colors. Dropping the stiffer combat from the first game, every action you take feels a lot more fluid. The rework of abilities makes them feel more active and fun to use (Biotic Charge being my all time favorite Mass Effect ability).

    The main story of Mass Effect 2 is kinda meh. The very beginning and the final Suicide Mission are some of the most iconic moments of the series, but between that, the other main missions are kind of generic. What saves the storytelling hard, is the fabulous side content with the main cast of characters. The loyalty missions are some of the most fun content, giving you more time to fall in love with all the characters on your ship. Also some of the best stories found are in the included DLC packs like Overlord, Lair of the Shadow Broker and Arrival.

    Then comes Mass Effect 3. Ok, to say this game was a little controversial is one of the biggest understatements you could make. The ending of this game is one of the most reviled things in gaming history, by people who only consider a plot thread ended, if it appeared in the final cutscene. To me, this whole game felt like an ending that tied the story throughout its entire run time.

    If people want to act like this game is worthless over a final cutscene, then they are willfully ignoring some of the best moments the series ever had. The Genophage decision is one of the most multi-faceted decisions in the series, taking in account a spider web of decisions made in the previous games. The solution to the Geth-Quarian conflict is one of the most epic moments within the entire series. Thessia truly shows the desperation in what you are facing. The only thing I will give to the people who needlessly hate this game, Kai Leng, is the lamest weeaboo insert I have seen in gaming.

    Where Mass Effect 3 also shines is the combat. By taking what ME2 introduced and polishing it to its final form, Mass Effect 3 has undeniably the best gameplay in the series, allowing for fast and fluid combat that will never bore you.

    In conclusion, each game in the series offers something slightly different, while keeping with the main theme of the story. You come to Mass Effect for the best main story in the series. You come to Mass Effect 2 for the best cast and side content. And you come to Mass Effect 3 for the best gameplay and for some of the most iconic moments within the series. What a fantastic series that everyone should experience.    … Expand

    I've played through the trilogy four times over the years and now a fifth time as Legendary Edition. The best story game I've ever played. Unfortunately, even though it has been revised, the first part of the trilogy in particular seems very outdated. The overall gaming experience makes up for it though.     Mass Effect: Legendary Edition offers the comprehensive experience that the whole trilogy rightfully deserves. Thanks to this, you can easily forgive it all sorts of small ailments associated with the age of individual parts and you drown dozens of unforgettable hours in the game without blinking an eye. Yes, even after such a long time.

    The Mass Effect Trilogy is incredible. The overarching story and its characters are excellent, and each one was better than the last. I wasn’t sure if these games would hold up in the current environment, but they absolutely do. They’re still worth playing, I recommend them, and to anyone about to jump in — play at a slower pace. Do not rush through. Explore everything they have to offer and relish in their richness.
