Nothing about her is appealing, Her costume looks like a Super markets employees uniform and her powers are just just stupid, giant growing cartoon limbs?? Like she was manufactured at ACME. Her character is just her gushing over the Avengers and being annoying, didnt care for her at all and she is the biggest part of the game. Expand

Marvels Avengers is a mess of a game. On one side we got a great story with great characters, on the other we have boring and repetitive gameplay. The rpg mechanics of this game doesnt work. They could have done so much with the Avengers IP but instead they did this buggy, incoherent mess.

By far one of the worst games I’ve ever played. Combat is pretty terrible. The campaign is single payer only, no multiplayer. Matchmaking is a joke. Matchmaking is a joke. I sit in lobby for 2 hours to find someone to play with in multiplayer and by the off chance I find someone to play with, they are stationary at the starting point of the game. Even finding someone to play with is a chore , not to mention filling up your whole team (4 players). Combat seems weak and ineffective based on “power rolls”. Think of playing Anthem or Destiny with no one to play with. The combat feels like everything is based on “Power Rolls”. You have 5 power? Enemy destroys you at power 6. This game is unbalanced, nothing like the trailers, you do not feel like a super hero. You feel like a noob for even thinking of purchasing this cash grab of a game. What a waste of an avengers game. Yea you can fly around as iron man, that’s it. Can’t complete the campaign with friends, can’t even find people in matchmaking to play the co-op with, which is 20 missions of the same thing. Ridiculous. What a waste of money. Worst game I’ve ever bought. Not even close to what the trailers show you. The trailer is literally the first level of campaign mode. Where you play all the characters by yourself. No crazy set pieces in multiplayer, just mundane fetch quests with enemies that are way to hard to beat for a superhero. This game had promise. It was meant to be fun. I honestly have no fun in sitting in a lobby waiting for other players to join then doing fetch quests leveling up my gear for the next fetch quest. Whoever made this game are complete idiots. This is the worst game I’ve ever played on a technical level, and I’ve probably played all AAA games ever made. Trust me this is not the Avengers game that you want. Graphics are outdated too. What a wasted of a brand. Go F**k yourself Marvels The Avengers. I hope you don’t steal. I hope you don’t steal money from anyone else. If you like this game you are a pleeb with no motivation or a brain. You can go f**k yourself too. You don’t belong in gaming. Just because it has an avengers “Skin” means nothing when the game is a wreck of bs fetch quests and no matchmaking capabilities . Garbage. 0/10

Don’t listen to the review bombing, they are salty that Xbox ain’t getting Spider-Man still lol. Game was great, just beat it, the story was absolutely engaging (I’m a big marvel fan) and side quests focusing on hulk, black widow, captain America, and etc. repetitive missions is definitely the fault of this game as multiplayer missions can be literally the same mission over and over.

I've only got about 6 hours into the main story and I would feel comfortable saying that the game is Good (better than OK but not Great). There are a lot of justifiable comparisons to Anthem at release but all in all this is a much netter product. The story and character models are excellent, but combat feels very hit or miss in terms of its fluidity in a given mission.

Okay, it doesn't compare to Batman Arkhan and Maver Spider-Man, but it's not a bad game. His campaign is short, there are missions that are very repetitive, but there are legal missions and the story is good. It's not a big game, but it's entertaining.

Marvel's Avengers game is not bad, but neither excellent. The campaign over all is pretty good, and the story is well developed and en-thrilling. The creators really put a lot of effort in making the gameplay mechanics feel real and powerful, and the connexion developed between Kamala, the player and all the Avengers is pretty well made and emotionally involving. The creators really put a lot of effort in making the gameplay mechanics feel real and powerful, and the connexion developed between Kamala, the player and all the Avengers is pretty well made and emotionally involving. But at 2020, with predecessors such as the Batman Arkham trilogy, or Marvel's Spider-Man it's unacceptable to have a game with so much lags, so many inconsistencies at the time of exploring and such a repetitive mechanic when exploring the world trough the side missions. Batman showed how to make collectibles fun to collect with little puzzles, and it seems that Square Enix tried so hard to nail a new collectible system, that ended up being boring and repetitive.

The world exploration is also an issue. There's just so much limitations to how to do things, how to access areas and how to interact with the world, in Marvel's Avengers the world is not alive with you. The world is static and does not interact with the player in ways that make me feel that my actions have any impact. These kind of level design was ok at first, but comes in the end as an over all boring experience. Rather than leveling up different characters and feeling that the world reacts to me and compelling me to further play and develop the rest of the Avengers, I rather get my hands on another game that really reacts to my character and its growth.

I am a fan of superheroes and its games. I believe anyone who enjoys a good story and the feeling of power in a combat system is going to really enjoy this game, but I cannot stop from wondering how much better it could have been if further development on the world was made. If every character had diversity in its characteristics that allowed me to plan my actions in a stealth approach vs a head to head combat, and that made me feel unlimited in my interactions with the world and with my team. It wasn't. bad first effort, it was just a disappointing one when compared to what the superheroes gaming industry is doing nowadays.

So, played a little more, and it's still so terribly clunky. and if you put a foot (or hand) wrong you have a longer than reasonable loading screen before you can get back into it. This kills any flow you might have and really it just feels like a poorly polished knockoff of so many other games. The camera and movement is still skittish and laggy. It just doesn't feel great. The environment design is nice, but that's about it. Deleted it in the end. Rare that i don't at least get through a campaign, but i think i was spoiled by Tsushima and The Last of us 2 , which are infinitely more polished.

The Battle Pass DID NOT WORK on Day 1, seems to be working now but DID NOT work Day 1

The microtranctions are running me the wrong too, here's somethings:

    1. Somethings are just too expensive, some of the skins translate to $10 and I am not one to automatically dismiss cause of microtranctions but this was too much, thankfully, it does now shove the microtranctions in your face, but it is scummy

    2. Takedowns being cosmetic? Seriously?

That's all I have to say, I'm disappointed, Buy Spider-Man 2018 or Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 or wait for Miles Morales later this year

I have a feeling that a lot of the negative reviews are coming from diehard MCU fan boys, and that's fine if they don't like it, but to smear the game as awful is a bit misleading. I can tell from other reviews that some people are mainly just pissed because you start out playing as Ms. Marvel (a female, muslim character). Those reviews kind of speak for themselves... If you're a fan of Marvel and the Avengers, chances are that you will enjoy this game.

The premise is a mixture between Destiny and beat-em-up games like Ultimate Alliance. You start out as Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel. A series of events have left the Avengers broken and disbanded. Your goal is simple - get the band back together and save the world. The reviews saying you are forced to play as Ms. Marvel the whole game are flat out wrong. You start with Ms. Marvel and can quickly use other characters as you progress through the story and unlock them. You can use other characters and level them up for pretty much most missions unless it's a specific character mission, but there aren't many of those.

I've played a lot since it came out and still I'm only 58% complete with the story. Afterwards, you can play through various multiplayer "strike missions" similar to Destiny and upgrade your gear more and more in order to tackle harder content. Since the game is a live-service, more and more content will be released in the future. There are some bugs and gameplay hiccups that i assume will be patched out soon but i haven't encountered anything that would be gamebreaking thus far.

All things considered, this is a good game. Graphics are good, the combat is fun, plenty of launch content and more will be released, new heroes are coming soon, and you can kick back with some friends to beat up bad guys as an Avenger. If you enjoy the gear grind of Destiny, enjoy getting loot, or just want some Marvel hero action you can jump in and out of then you should give this a shot.

It could’ve been a great single player title. The publisher chose to go down the game as a service path though, and those who prefer to play solo need to tackle run-of-the-mill co-op missions. The multiplayer on the other hand is messy, chaotic and in the long run boring. When the developers manage to fix the most pressing bugs and find a way to bring more variety to co-op, this might become a solid game. Right now, I can only recommend it to the biggest fans of the Avengers. [11/2020, p.26]

This is the perfect example of "Games as a Service" done right. Marvel's Avengers offers up a superb campaign story to play through that is promised to be expanded on in the future. The gameplay may be repetitive, but it includes just enough to keep players interested and invested in the endgame content that is available now to keep this game going until the next step in its roadmap. The possibilities and potential in the future here are hugely exciting.

There have been plenty of moments during my time with Marvel's Avengers where I’ve genuinely had a great time. But this game keeps finding ways to drag itself down- at times it almost feels like it goes out of its way to do so. There’s just so much here that I can’t overlook, no matter how hard I may try. An unnecessary and broken loot system, a litany of horrible technical issues, uninspired and one-note mission design, and a story that fails just as much as it succeeds- it doesn’t matter how mindlessly fun the combat is, it isn't enough to overcome such a heavy list of problems.
