    Mafia 3 reminds me of what the mafia films has best: Scorsese, striking characters, good story, etc.

    It also has an incredible gameplay with great controles.Mafia 3 rocks!

    Awful combat, awful driving, awful mechanics in general. The sole reason to 'explore' buildings seems to be pointless collectibles that have a huge icon above them so every moron knows that they can interact with them. The only saving grace is the soundtrack, but since I don't care about music unless it's absolutely killer (say what you want a mass effect 1 and 2, but the sound was quiteAwful combat, awful driving, awful mechanics in general. The only saving grace is the soundtrack, but since I don't care about music unless it's absolutely killer (say what you want a mass effect 1 and 2, but the sound was quite literally perfect in both of those games), they're not getting a point for that.

    This is a GTA rip off with worse gameplay in every single way, and worse graphics to boot. Despite the okay car physics, I still found it a massive pain to navigate around in a vehicle to the point where I was fondly remembering GTA 4.

    I have nothing to say about the story, because I was expecting it to be awful, and it was. Maybe you'll like it if you hate white people, but I don't think that's a very large market, and if it is then it's certainly not for video games. It's a shame the game mechanics are terrible too.

    They took what was bad about Mafia 2 and just made things worse. Mafia 1 was a great game, and it has devolved with every subsequent release. This is no exception.

    I doubt there will be a mafia 4 at this rate, and that's a good thing.    … Expand

    Do not waste your money on this bugged low quality piece of crap. Don't let beautiful visuals fool you, gameplay is so repetitive, dull and boring. They could start fixing hundreds of bugs, but they decided to bring some pathetic DLCs.

    Trash game. Mafia 2 was much more better than this peace of sht. It's actually really hard to spot the difference in graphics, lol. 6 years ahead and Mafia 3 looks even worse. From the first game Mafia series were about realism and atmosphere. But without all little details and lots of arcade elements game is much less immersive, and can't really be distinguished from GTA.     Awful. This isn't Mafia at all. It's a GTA rip-off that is so poorly done that I wouldn't even pick it up from the garbage bin. Technically, it's a failure. Story wise, it's a failure. Character wise, it's a failure. What does this game have to even do with the Mafia like the first two? Disgraceful.

    Mafia 3 has a great story and setting but what holds the game back is poor driving controls and graphical problems such as NPCs poping in from nowhere, poor lighting and poor textures, the gameplay also feels very repetitive with locations being recycled for missions.

    This game has as much to do with mafia as any of the GTA games. You are some thug who fights other thugs and that is pretty much it. Driving is bad, the camera movement when driving makes me sick. Sounds are not very good. Graphics are meh, blurry textures and crashes. Menu is awful. This game would be better off if it was named something else but even then it    NOT A MAFIA GAME

    One of the worst games I have ever played. It is buggy and boring beyond belief. Could have been great but it seems the developers just bothered with graphics and story. Would have been worth more if I could just watch the story as a movie...

I can't believe we're still preordering games, when lots of them come out like this. It's full of glitches, the graphics are horrendous, the shooting and movements are clunky, the list goes on.     This incompetent dev can't even be bothered to optimize a game for fixed hardware. This game has wonky performance, regular crashes, poor draw distance, poor car handling and average graphics. Don't give those money who don't deserve it. Buy this on sale or better yet wait for the complete edition since they have chock full of DLC planned already. What a let down.

    As a fan of the series all I can say is don't waste you're money on this garbage game because if you're expecting a Mafia game (and who wouldn't be) you will be very disappointed.

    Furthermore, this isn't even about the Mafia. It's more like a Black Lives Matter Terrorist Simulator.

    Feels like I'm playing Grand Theft Auto San Andreas on PS4 with same graphics that the game was released that year. All I can say is, Zero, Zero, Zero. Everything sucks, Even camera, FOG, Field of View, Texture quality in range and all sucks.

    Very strange narrative: Mafia 3 lofts a very heavy handed narrative of fighting a strain of oppression endured by black characters, which would be fine, if it didn't confusedly stage Italian Americans as facile, blank-faced, and one-dimensional characters only attributed with a characterization of being seething racist criminals that ought to be mowed down. It's a very weird juggling actVery strange narrative: Mafia 3 lofts a very heavy handed narrative of fighting a strain of oppression endured by black characters, which would be fine, if it didn't confusedly stage Italian Americans as facile, blank-faced, and one-dimensional characters only attributed with a characterization of being seething racist criminals that ought to be mowed down.     I was really looking forward to this game.. Paid the hefty price of 50$ and couldnt wait to play the game, but I didnt fell like I was getting what I paid for sadly... Its kinda like going into a 5 star restaurant and getting a happy meal, Mafia III is a huge let down, It has bad graphics, and I mean... REALLY BAD GRAPHICS, it looks like a 2010 game, yes the cutscenes are well made, butI was really looking forward to this game.. An unpolished and bugged filled adventure, which clearly was not even close to being ready for release. It's obvious the glorious pre release reviews were paid ones. The driving mechanics are shockingly bad and what should be the distinct sound of an American muscle car of that generation, sounds more like a chihuahua trying to pass wind. The sun looks more like a super nova that's on a collision course with earth, it's that unrealistic and blinding. In general the weather affects have that feeling it's 2006 not 2016. It's just a woeful attempt at trying to cash in on the previous 2 mafia games, which I'm not sure that the developers realise, that you actually were a part of the mafia. The soundtrack is great and the cut scenes are some of the best you'll see. Voice acting is very good, not much after that is a positive. it's an open world game, yet you have no interaction with it, you can't buy weapons from shops, food, drink, clothes, haircuts and all the things I thought open world games were about. The only clipping in this mafia, is when you're in sneak mode and you disappear into walls. What a terrible effort after promising so much, but that's gaming, it's a disgrace and good reason to never pre order anything.… Expand

    Pros:
    1. Soundtrack. Adds to the overall atmosphere. 2. Open World with full ability to go everywhere. Cons: 1. Graphics. Look dated and washed out. Worst lighting I have seen in a game with an orange sheen at sunrise and sunset.     2. The writing. Horrific usage of modern phrases and contemporary theme of discussion not used in 1968. The overall story structure is sophomoric and did not have the hook and engaging feel of Mafia II.
    3. Prepare to be preached at. I don't care what anyone's social and political view point is until they throw it in my face after I just paid sixty bucks. At the beginning disclaimer they state they will be using racist and inappropriate subject matter to create authenticity. They do that well by:
    a) Degrading African Americans.
    b) Making sure everyone knows how bad Caucasian people are.
    c) Pushing the fact that America is evil...especially in 1968. Evil attackers of attackers of Vietnam. Corrupt and evil white men running the country.
    If you are going to preach your view point to the recipients of your story at least make it believable. The writers in this game embarrass themselves.
    4. Overall game play gets repetitive and boring. Does not have the dark drama feel of previous titles. Mafia has never been a real deep game outside of the story line. If you remove the an engaging story as they have there is not much left.
    5. Language. I would have lumped this with the writing but it deserves mention on its own. Prepare to hear totally unnecessary and over usage of the most profane vulgarity for no reason other than to try to be cool. Again I point out the almost sophomoric and immature writing I have had to sit through. I don't mind this language if used to make a point but all of this is severe overkill.

    Wait for Watchdogs 2 or replay GTA. This is in no way worth anyone's time or money. Is Studio 13 responsible for this trash? Hard to say and I have wasted enough time with this title.    … Expand

    This is game about a complexed racial afro shooting and burning and running over innocent white females and men. Its a game made with hate in mind. Shame it has a real good soundtrack, but i wont let my kids play it. It has NOTHING to do with a "Mafia" game, just the name.

Awful, PS2 graphics, worthless repetitive gameplay, story sucked, cliche revenge story. Clunky controls (seriously, hold square to enter/exit vehicles, wow, just wow.)     Luego de jugar a la saga de Grand Theft Auto, del primer juego hasta el V, pasando por los grandiosos San Andreas y Vice City, me meto de lleno en la saga Mafia. Me he sentido a gusto por las dos primeras entregas, que me han sumergido en el mundo de la Cosa Nostra, una de las más legendarias épocas de la mafia. Con detalles que fueron cuidados en lo más mínimo, desde el detalle gráfico,Luego de jugar a la saga de Grand Theft Auto, del primer juego hasta el V, pasando por los grandiosos San Andreas y Vice City, me meto de lleno en la saga Mafia. Me he sentido a gusto por las dos primeras entregas, que me han sumergido en el mundo de la Cosa Nostra, una de las más legendarias épocas de la mafia. Con detalles que fueron cuidados en lo más mínimo, desde el detalle gráfico, físicas, IA, hasta el concepto del juego, muy bien llevado, y que provocaba una inmersión brutal. Ahora me encuentro con Mafia 3, un título con una historia aún más interesante, ya que la mafia se ha diversificado, y ambientada en una época post-guerra de Vietnam, donde todavía había mucha segregación racial. Un personaje muy atractivo como Lincoln Clay, y un argumento muy bien hecho, al narrarnos una historia de venganza.
    Se ha apostado por el mundo abierto, un concepto del que se ha hecho uso en montones de juegos, pero aquí, está muy mal aplicado. Mapa y mundo completamente muerto, prácticamente todas las misiones son iguales, hacer la misma cosa una y otra, y otra, y otra, y otra vez. Aburrido hasta decir basta, monotonía pura en los combates, en la "exploración", venga, como un FF XIII, pero en vez de tener un pasillo, tenemos un mundo muerto, sin la gran variedad que tenían las anteriores entregas. Un juego que a las 2 o 3 horas, ya no quieres jugarlo más, de lo aburrido y monótono que es. Un concepto muy mal planteado. Y esto hablando del juego en sí.
    Si hablamos del apartado técnico... Voy a contenerme para al menos escribir esta review, que duele mismo (pero alguien tiene que hacerlo): Bugs de todos los colores y sabores (puertas giratorias, el famoso "modo muñeco", crasheos, desbalanceos en ciclos de tiempo, fallos de iluminación, IA que de inteligente no tiene nada, falta de animaciones, o pésimas animaciones). Todos los detalles que en los anteriores Mafia eran tan cuidados como a un bebé, aquí no existen. Si en PC el rendimiento es penoso, en PS4 es mucho peor. No había jugado una basura tan grande desde No Man's Sky (y eso que aquel juego era basura), porque no me explico de otra forma los 5 crashes que tuve en PS4.
    O sea, se hunde el propio juego. Y en lo que no se hunde por un lado, se hunde por el otro, en forma de la repetitividad que tiene el juego. tengo la fortuna de que me lo prestaron, porque si lo llegaba a comprar, me hubiese pegado un tiro en la cabeza.
    Recomendación: NO LO COMPRES, o juégalo prestado. Me lo agradecerías el no tirar tu dinero.

    After playing the saga of Grand Theft Auto, from the first game to the V, through the great San Andreas and Vice City, I get fully into the Mafia saga. I felt at ease for the first two installments, which have immersed me in the world of Cosa Nostra, one of the most legendary mafia eras. With details that were taken care of in the least, from the graphic detail, physical, AI, to the concept of the game, very well taken, and that caused a brutal immersion. Now I find Mafia 3, a title with an even more interesting story, since the mafia has diversified, and set in a post-war period in Vietnam, where there was still a lot of racial segregation. A very attractive character like Lincoln Clay, and a very well made argument, telling us a story of revenge.
    It has opted for the open world, a concept that has been used in lots of games, but here, it is very badly applied. Map and world completely dead, practically all missions are the same, do the same thing one and another, and another, and another, and again. Bored to say enough, pure monotony in the fighting, in the "exploration", come, like a FF XIII, but instead of having a corridor, we have a dead world, without the great variety that the previous deliveries had. A game that at 2 or 3 hours, you do not want to play anymore, how boring and monotonous it is. A very bad concept. And this is talking about the game itself.
    If we talk about the technical section ... I will contain myself to at least write this review, which hurts itself (but someone has to do it): Bugs of all colors and flavors (revolving doors, the famous "doll mode", crasheos, unbalances in cycles of time, lighting failures, AI that has nothing intelligent, lack of animations, or terrible animations). All the details that in the previous Mafia were as cared for as a baby, here they do not exist. If PC performance is painful, in PS4 it is much worse.     Luego de jugar a la saga de Grand Theft Auto, del primer juego hasta el V, pasando por los grandiosos San Andreas y Vice City, me meto de lleno en la saga Mafia. Me he sentido a gusto por las dos primeras entregas, que me han sumergido en el mundo de la Cosa Nostra, una de las más legendarias épocas de la mafia. Con detalles que fueron cuidados en lo más mínimo, desde el detalle gráfico,Luego de jugar a la saga de Grand Theft Auto, del primer juego hasta el V, pasando por los grandiosos San Andreas y Vice City, me meto de lleno en la saga Mafia. Me he sentido a gusto por las dos primeras entregas, que me han sumergido en el mundo de la Cosa Nostra, una de las más legendarias épocas de la mafia. Con detalles que fueron cuidados en lo más mínimo, desde el detalle gráfico, físicas, IA, hasta el concepto del juego, muy bien llevado, y que provocaba una inmersión brutal. Ahora me encuentro con Mafia 3, un título con una historia aún más interesante, ya que la mafia se ha diversificado, y ambientada en una época post-guerra de Vietnam, donde todavía había mucha segregación racial. Un personaje muy atractivo como Lincoln Clay, y un argumento muy bien hecho, al narrarnos una historia de venganza.
    Se ha apostado por el mundo abierto, un concepto del que se ha hecho uso en montones de juegos, pero aquí, está muy mal aplicado. Mapa y mundo completamente muerto, prácticamente todas las misiones son iguales, hacer la misma cosa una y otra, y otra, y otra, y otra vez. Aburrido hasta decir basta, monotonía pura en los combates, en la "exploración", venga, como un FF XIII, pero en vez de tener un pasillo, tenemos un mundo muerto, sin la gran variedad que tenían las anteriores entregas. Un juego que a las 2 o 3 horas, ya no quieres jugarlo más, de lo aburrido y monótono que es. Un concepto muy mal planteado. Y esto hablando del juego en sí.
    Si hablamos del apartado técnico... Voy a contenerme para al menos escribir esta review, que duele mismo (pero alguien tiene que hacerlo): Bugs de todos los colores y sabores (puertas giratorias, el famoso "modo muñeco", crasheos, desbalanceos en ciclos de tiempo, fallos de iluminación, IA que de inteligente no tiene nada, falta de animaciones, o pésimas animaciones). Todos los detalles que en los anteriores Mafia eran tan cuidados como a un bebé, aquí no existen. Si en PC el rendimiento es penoso, en PS4 es mucho peor. No había jugado una basura tan grande desde No Man's Sky (y eso que aquel juego era basura), porque no me explico de otra forma los 5 crashes que tuve en PS4.
    O sea, se hunde el propio juego. Y en lo que no se hunde por un lado, se hunde por el otro, en forma de la repetitividad que tiene el juego. tengo la fortuna de que me lo prestaron, porque si lo llegaba a comprar, me hubiese pegado un tiro en la cabeza.
    Recomendación: NO LO COMPRES, o juégalo prestado. Me lo agradecerías el no tirar tu dinero.

    After playing the saga of Grand Theft Auto, from the first game to the V, through the great San Andreas and Vice City, I get fully into the Mafia saga. I felt at ease for the first two installments, which have immersed me in the world of Cosa Nostra, one of the most legendary mafia eras. With details that were taken care of in the least, from the graphic detail, physical, AI, to the concept of the game, very well taken, and that caused a brutal immersion. Now I find Mafia 3, a title with an even more interesting story, since the mafia has diversified, and set in a post-war period in Vietnam, where there was still a lot of racial segregation. A very attractive character like Lincoln Clay, and a very well made argument, telling us a story of revenge.
    It has opted for the open world, a concept that has been used in lots of games, but here, it is very badly applied. Map and world completely dead, practically all missions are the same, do the same thing one and another, and another, and another, and again. Bored to say enough, pure monotony in the fighting, in the "exploration", come, like a FF XIII, but instead of having a corridor, we have a dead world, without the great variety that the previous deliveries had. A game that at 2 or 3 hours, you do not want to play anymore, how boring and monotonous it is. A very bad concept. And this is talking about the game itself.
    If we talk about the technical section ... I will contain myself to at least write this review, which hurts itself (but someone has to do it): Bugs of all colors and flavors (revolving doors, the famous "doll mode", crasheos, unbalances in cycles of time, lighting failures, AI that has nothing intelligent, lack of animations, or terrible animations). All the details that in the previous Mafia were as cared for as a baby, here they do not exist. If PC performance is painful, in PS4 it is much worse.     As a fan of the series all I can say is don't waste you're money on this garbage game because if you're expecting a Mafia game (and who wouldn't be) you will be very disappointed.

    The game left a good impression. Writers and artists have done great job, as well as actors who played the main characters (+ awesome soundtrack), but the game designers disappointed. In general I enjoyed the game and I hope see the Mafia 4.

    Worst entry in the series.
    Game doesn't feel as open world as it should.
    Lots of bugs.
    Story was Average, gameplay felt outdated, wouldn't recommend Poor man's GTA is the best way to describe this game... play GTA5 instead.

    El juego en cuestión no es malo, es un juego con buena música y conducción; la razón por la que le pongo este porque a aproximadamente 5 años de su lanzamiento el juego es casi imposible de platinar debido a los numerosos glichtes que tienen sus trofeos, lo que a gente como yo la cual colecciona platinos se le hace una pesadilla

    WORST MAFIA IN SERIES
    Same missions all the time. Characters are super boring and main character doesnt fit for mafia world.Open world is not living they are like mannequin. I hope hangar 13 dont make another mafia game cuz they are gonna kill this beatiful game serie.

    Its stealth is too repetitive, its gunfights too familiar, and its driving too boring to support anything else that’s going on. Despite how clever it manages to be in portraying the conquest and control of a criminal enterprise, the nuts-and-bolts missions feel like busywork, and it never fully explores the most interesting aspects of its setting. It’s better than Mafia II, but that’s damning it with faint praise.

    It could have been a really great sandbox for one evening. It’s a shame the developers decided to extend it by over a dozen completely redundant hours, because they had fresh ideas for around one fifth of the campaign and made the rest of the game repetitive as hell. [12/2016, p.48]
