    I just purchased Mad Max new for $20 after selling Red Dead Redemption 2 used for $20. I enjoyed the graphical and narrative depth of RDR2, the ridiculous level of detail is insane, but I just couldn't commit the massive amounts of time required to complete the often times, very mundane objectives and gameplay. I liked it, I liked it a lot actually, but I wasn't having fun playing it. RDR2I just purchased Mad Max new for $20 after selling Red Dead Redemption 2 used for $20. RDR2 felt tedious more than it felt fun, and this was always one of my grievances with the otherwise brilliant Death Stranding. Mad Max was a game I wanted since it came out 8 years ago. That may seem like a long time ago but consider Grand Theft Auto V and Skyrim are nearly 13 years old. So I came across a rare instance of Mad Max brand new and finally decided to purchase it.     The only reason I don't give it a higher rating is because there are some weird and unnecessary camera movements that tear us apart. I don't know anyone who has played this game and not nearly puked. The biggest difficulty in the game is not running to the bathroom in the middle of the match.     Fun game with enjoyable combat, graphics, and overall gameplay. Get's a bit repetitive and there is not enough of a story to keep me really hooked (just like the movies). I really enjoy playing for about an hour at a time here and there and I do recommend the game, especially for those who like open-world collect-athons.

    Car combat and the car it self just gives you that power fantasy in this open world apocalypse. Unfortunately the story it’s self had a 3 dollar budget and that is all the developers and publishers fault . The busy work is fun . Great environmental story telling . But it holds your hand way more then most true gamers want . The game is dirt cheap now and with all the crap coming out this game shines like head lights in the vast desert. Do your self a favor and give this game a try . Not perfect and some very frustrating decisions made but the developers. The gameplay is to fun to ignore. And as we all know gameplay is king !!!!

    Um bom game com excelente gráfico, história bacana, um pouco repetitivo, porém o jogo lhe causa uma imersão devido aos ambientes retratado no mesmo, que chega a ser viciante visitar todos os ambientes do game.

    And one of the most important things for me, and why I love this game is that it never gets boring the more you play it, it actually gets more fun when you upgrade all of your stuff. Not a lot of games can do this, a lot of games can get really boring after a while.     I recommend. This game has a lot of mechanics which make it just great. It is pure fun to play. Only thing I do not really like is the story. But after playing The Witcher games... what game has got a good story? xD anyway I truly recommend

    Very surprised how addictive this game is. When I first started I thought I would be annoyed with the controls and basic npc interactions. Hours later I was still loving all the tasks and plenty of things to do. Obvious problems are there but the overall experience is very good and you will get addicted to this game!

    One of the greatest atmospheric games I’ve ever played. It has this amazing texture and you can feel the heat and the madness. I don’t know about those who find the games Mechanics not good enough, for me it’s so smooth and satisfying.

    imo the most overlooked and under rated game on the ps4 . even as a fan of the original films i myself did not pick this game up until two years after it come out and boy what a great game . films made into games are norm a let down but not this one . i wish i could wipe it from my mind and play it for the first time all over again . its so cheap to pick up now in 2021 dont miss out

    Главный вопрос такой, кому и зачем нужно было такое количество однообразных активностей на карте? Места поживы можно было сократить, разминирование вообще убрать, пугала, уничтожение катапульт, автомобилей со взрывчаткой вообще не интересно выполнять, раскопка лома и прочее не нпсишные задания то же, все это очень сильно утомляет. Гонки полностью проигнорировал ибо и так уже устал от игры.Главный вопрос такой, кому и зачем нужно было такое количество однообразных активностей на карте?     Лучше бы сосредоточились на классных лагерях, которые довольно интересно исследовать, если бы еще и лут был, кроме лома и построек, было б вообще отлично. Боевки не хватает разнообразия, стычкам и мини боссам вариативности.

    Есть ряд бесячих моментов, типа того где не отмечен желтой краской проход на вышку, или ночная миссия которая не берется днем, мне пришлось ждать час реального времени, пока солнце за горизонт не уйдет. В наличии пропадающая миссия Призраки прошлого, если ты вместо сюжета, зачисткой занялся и убежал, и пещерка с погребенной тачкой не откроется. Еще баг с непроходимым заданием по уничтожению машин со взрывчаткой все еще на месте, это с финальным патчем в игре 2015 года окей. Во второй половине игра немного подтормаживает, а шторм такой громкий что каждый раз приходится убавлять громкость.

    Но оценка все равно высокая, ибо атмосфера и клевые виды, интересное исследование и собирашки, боевка генерит зрелищные моменты (пока вы от них не устанете), кататься врезаться и взрывать машинки то же прикольно(пока вы и от этого не устанете), немного напоминает Кармагедон и Твистет Метал. Прокачка тоже мотивирует. Сюжет и персонажи колоритные.

    Вообщем не ожидал что на игру уйдет 80 часов. Думал будет что то похожее на Средеземье. Вообщем понравилось. 8 из 10.    … Expand

    I am surprised by the opinion of the "critics" of this game, she is good for a movie adaptation. There is action, story, nice graphics even crafting. I can recommend it, and if you play it, avoid the tornadoes :)

    A true undiscovered gem,a diamond in the rough in the bargain bin. Great game play, open world concept. Mad Max is chalked full of great characters and locations that is is surprising that more games haven't been made in this universe. PS4 graphics are in beautiful 4K display from the dusty landscapes to the world ending storms. This games deserve your attention and you deserve the experience.

    Great game for the fans of Mad Max, very enjoyable. I have been playing for over sixteen and a half hours now, and am satisfied as someone who knows the game's universe since waaaay back, in the old days.
    Great car physics, speeding up and slowing down, the wasteland atmosphere is also there! Great job, Avalanche Studio.

    What a fantastic and underrated game. Especially when you come off this utterly disappointing Cyberpunk 2077 release. Mad Max is a lovely open world game everyone who love dystopian landscapes should try!!!

    I have seen this melee style of combat done before and better in Batman Arkham games. It takes a lot to get me into a third person and/or driving games these days. The scenic driving and car combat was fun. The melee combat worked, but nothing woo hoo.

    The overall game was a lot of doing the same stock stuff over and over again, but with more added intensity the further I progressed. I personally never got bored, because I was always seeing new locations when doing the same stuff. The map is huge and for a desert it had many a new nook and cranny to explore. The scripted end game BS was kind of annoying, but they wanted to push that cinematic look.

    Some small bugs and a few annoying glitches which led to very cheap deaths. Poorly optimized at times on the legacy PS4. With very bad slow downs in the frame rate when several cars are on screen. I had a lot of fun with this game, but the technical problems do effect the score.    … Expand

    Amazing game!! Great story, gameplay,graphics, everything.The world is huge and full of fun things to do, and everything is done with an impressive polish and atention to detail. This game balances on foot combat,looting and exploration with veicular racing and destruction in an unique and amazing way. Those critcs must be all retards.

    Korona salgınında ps Plus birikmiş oyunlarıma zaman ayırma kararı aldım. Bir çok oyuna şans verip bitirip aslında o kadar da kötü değilmiş dedikten sonra sıra Mad Max'e geldi. Şu an yeni satın aldığım Metro Exodus'a başlamadım, Mad Max'i bitirmeye adadım kendimi. Çünkü BU OYUN MÜKEMMEL!!!
    Kıymeti zamanında bilinememiş, harika bir oyun. Zamanla karakterin arabası, karakterin yaşadığı kaleler, karakterin yetenekleri ve karakterin üstü başı geliştirilebiliyor. Kendinizi Mad Max ile bütünleştirdiğiniz an oyundan çıkmak istemiyorsunuz. Dip not:kesinlikle oynayın.

    Truly the most underrated game ever.
    The combat is amazing, comparable to the Arkham games you can feel the intensity of the punches, bones cracking it's not just punching 3 times and they go flying. The car combat is really good, and even more so when you upgrade it a lot
    The evolution sistem is amazing you can really see and feel max and his car evolve as you play more and more. And the    Truly the most underrated game ever.

The story is great not a master piece but it's fine. The only thing that pushes this game down is the bugs there are a ton of them, none of those who happened to me made me restart the game but I know that that happens.

    Not a perfect game but a lot of fun although quite repetitive, looks beautiful on ps4 pro but sometimes suffers ridiculously from frame rate issues but the good definitely outweighs the bad, unfortunately for mad max though it was overlooked that year but definitely worth a purchase.

    A 69 from critics? SERIOUSLY? In this game you play as Max and you can literally design your own car called the Magnum Opus and you can do so many things. There are 300+ scavenging locations, so many car possibilities, so many enemy types and a very good story. Yes it has its faults but rating it a 69/100 is terrible. It is a very good game!

    Davvero un bel gioco.....le esplosioni, la guida e soprattutto i combattimenti sono il punto forte di questo gioco, e anche la storia non è male. Anche se purtroppo a lungo andare è ripetitivo lo consiglio a tutti, soprattutto a chi è amante dei giochi open world.

A simple story but in keeping with the universe to which it belongs, I especially liked the setting of several of the dungeons to explore in secondary missions or to find new parts for the car, with a dark and terrifying atmosphere.     This game was a day one buy for me. I have probably played it six times since I’ve owned it and currently playing it while at home because of the COVID-19 stuff going on! Between the skill tree, the upgrades to your abilities as well as to your car, you feel like a badass while you’re leveling up!!!!! For a post apocalyptic game, the graphics for the environments look amazing, not to mention the great effects of the sky & sunsets, etc. it even looks killer at night!!! I love the look of shadows of the clouds rolling across the landscapes! The hand to hand combat (which borrows heavily from the Batman games) has a real sense of weight and crunch to it, especially if you play with headphones! I love Avalanche games as I have played all of the Just Cause games since Just Cause 2. I would’ve loved to have seen a sequel for this game, but sadly i know we will never get one!!! :( I want to thank the team at Avalanche for this game, you branched out from Just Cause & made a KILLER game which unfortunately went way under the radar of many gamers!!!!!!!!… Expand

    Great game specially if you love the Mad Max world. The story is ok, the gameplay is as great as in fighting as in driving. There is a massive open world to explore and a lot of content. The characters are amazing and evolve well throughout the story. The sound effects and the car roar is outstanding.

    Best game I've played! Much fun in the wasteland! TPS is more fun than FPS. I like North of Fist that is like mad max. I bought madmax, god of war and cod. Finally, mad max is much much better than the other 2 games.

So, I can't recommend a 100% playthrough but I would say that if you complete the main story and do..let's say...half of the optional quests, you should have a great time with this game.

    We can easily compare this game to Far Cry and Assassin's Creed because of the open world design.

The missions can be repetitive, however it becomes addictive just to upgrade your car so you bear with it and keep playing. The story is average and could have been so much more, with the ending being very jarring. It is sad that the game was not more of a success as they would have made a sequel for sure. I don't have much to complain about this game, if anything I would say that there are many other vehicles, but they was never really a reason to use them as the one you are building is so much better. I would have loved to see more missions with other vehicles and perhaps missions where your dog goes with you.

    I feel this game will be a cult hit in the future and hope the devs revisit it again. Just need to utilize more of the map by including fleshed out missions and they would have had a winner perhaps a AAA game.    … Expand

    The one negative thing about the game is that at a few key places you’re forced to act in a way that’s pretty inconsistent with 95% of the way you played up until then. That felt kind of terrible and to happen at the end when you’ve invested so much was kind of really sucky. Super jízdní model vozidel, a jejich destrukce s výbuchy jsou vážně impozantní. Avalanche studios se vážně předvedli, a ukazali že to umí, pokud mají dostatek peněz a času na hru.

    Don't really understand the mixed reviews of this - this game was immensely fun and the attention to detail of George Miller's world is just outstanding! It's visceral, brutal and the driving mechanics are brilliant! Some of it can be rough around the edges and the story isn't all interesting but the amount of technical heart that has gone into this makes it worth a recommendation.

    Altough all Top Dog bosses are the same with one swing animation and there are no interesting random wanderers.

    I ranked this game 10 because I think this title deserves more credit. It has a good open world atmosphere. You can see a devastating sand storm coming your way and then you have to run for your life and take shelter. It has a very nice graphics, fair story, nice combat system, and very fun car combat.

    Negative points: there are too much scavenging locations. Even though they varied each one, it does get stale but it's nowhere necessary to go search them all.     One of the best open world games I've ever played, I enjoyed it so much to sweep the map, taking away all the threat and making the most of missions .... The map is great and satisfying, the story is great and full of drama, the graphics are beautiful, anyway many positives and do not understand the low criticism here ...

Strongholds are great too because you also build additions to them that help you in the game and you’ll see the work you put in strongholds as well. It’s definitly my kind of game. I was expecting it to be much worse because of the reviews, now I keep trying to get all of my friends who haven’t played it yet to give it a try.     Playing it now thanks to PS plus. Great game, i got hooked with it from the beginning. There is some grind to do to max you car and character but it´s pretty fun to complete all the activities the game offers.

    Everything about this game is great except for how repetitive it is. Doing the same missions over and over again mad bored of the game halfway through. The car combat was suprisingly great and the other gadgets the car had were impressive and plentiful.

The repetetive nature will also kick in at some point, luckily for me it didn't happen until probably the 20 hour mark. To, end it felt like Ubisoft decicded to make Rage 2, and it's really good. Pros: masterpiece of an open world, addicting gameplay. So-So= can get repetitive for some very quick, overly simple combat mechanics. The cons= non existant story… Expand

Just driving around doing missions/tasks is therapeutic. Avalanche has created a magnificent world in Mad Max. Astounding graphics! And i dont generally like driving in games but boy oh boy am I having a blast speeding across the sand dunes.

    Oh and the combat. My God is it addictive! I can feel the weight behind every meaty punch, dropkick and bodyslam that Max rains down on his enemies. It feels completely superior to Arkham Knight's floaty and easy combat. In Mad Max, momentum and direction matters if you want to pull off perfect combos. Seriously, to me, the combat never gets old and I in fact always look forward to the next combat sequence. It's THAT good!!

    Car combat is absolutely fun! It reminds me of Twisted Metal/Road Rash/Carmageddon. Like the fist combat, car combat never gets old. Every time it feels like Destruction Derby. Friggin awesome!

    The story is also interesting so far though at the time of this review, I have not finished the game. Im maybe 25-30% done but i just felt compelled to write one right away as the game is sooo good! I played like 10hrs, fell in love with the game, had the itch to rewatch Mad Max Fury Road, did that and it made the game feel even more ALIVE! As if Max came from the end of the movie right into the game as some sort of continuation. I'll be updating this review once Im done with the game but after 20+ hrs and still at the first base, I can safely say Mad Max will blow my expectations away.

    Good game. It's a shame, there won't be the second one because the gameplay is strong and visuals, while not technically ideal, are artfully and immersive. We would only need a bit better story and a little more complication in fighting and looting (f*cking scraps...). Kudos to people who had developed it. You were just unlucky with unfair reviews.

    Awesome game! I could not stop playing until I got the platinum trophy (the first one on PS4!). I can recommend it to anyone. Play it, if you still had not a chance till 2017! :)

    This game was cruelly underrated on release and deserves to be played, yes it borrows off other games but it so much fun you soon ignore its failings , please ignore the poor scores on here and search out a copy , and here's hoping to a sequel.

    This is the beauty of this game, and what makes it so enjoyable.

    The combat system is also great, but requires some getting used to. While it is a rhythm-based combat system akin to Batman games, there are clear tactics for each enemy horde on how to beat them clean, or get beaten up. Every fight also feels a bit different from the next one, even if there are only a handful of different enemies.

    Driving is marvelous, and extremely responsive. Weaponry on the cars is highly enjoyable to use as well.

    Lastly, it is Mad Max.

    It really is difficult to find anything negative to say about this game, except that I want more of it.

    Mad Max used its imagery well, and as a sandbox game, it's thematically pretty coherent. I actually liked this more than GTA V: driving around is more exiting, and Batman-style fist fighting is more fun than Gears of GTA -cover shootouts. [Oct 2015]

    A functional open world game, Mad Max captures none of what makes its source material great. Missions are uninteresting, the world is dead and there are next to no damn car chases. [Issue#262, p.64]
