A great and fun game that fails to provide enough progression on its mechanic. Nonetheless, you'll find a game that is as big as easy to play and beautifully crafted, which is faithful to the universe created by George Miller.

While overall Mad Max borrows from past titles like Batman when it comes to combat, or Far Cry when it comes to the design of its open world and its activities, it still manages to stand out through its car combat. The story is also pretty compelling and manages to keep you invested even if some of the missions get repetitive after a while.

Even if lacking a plot capable of sparking the player's interest, Mad Max managed to keep us entertained for tens of hours thanks to its vast world rich of opportunities. A solid game, worth a try for all fans of the movie series.

Mad Max is a solid, if slightly unremarkable open-world game that does a good job in replicating the atmosphere and tone of the movies, and the character's essence, but fails to provide any real excitement beyond its vehicle-based combat.

The beautiful wasteland is incredible to drive around, but leave the Magnum Opus and the excitement dips. This is nearly excellent, but instead is frustrating.
  6. Mad Max, despite his propensity for violence and vengeance, represents a flicker of hope that humanity’s best will always work to endure and survive its worst. And that, I think I finally understand, is what has kept me returning the Avalanche’s wasteland night after night.
  7. 40
Mad Max’s fondness for never-ending upgrades and tedious open-world quests stymies the exceptional car combat and compelling characters.

Two words. UNDERRATED GEM. This game is pretty dank. Car customization is nice. The combat is pretty good and the open world is immersive and engaging

It's been taken from a film and what the hell would you do in a wasteland? To me it is sufficient the atmosphere and the stunning visualis the game offers, bounded with a solid and well known gameplay. It is extremely relaxing, like I loved to ride the horse on Red Dead Redemption simply doing nothing. Amazing feeling. Expand

It is in my view an underrated game. I think the reason why some do not like the game is because it is not completely faithful to the movie and has fairly simple melee combat. From my perspective the graphics are stunning, the voice acting is well done, the sense of exploration is amazing, the combat both on foot and in car is not overly complicated yet is immensely rewarding, the list of things to do is huge and fun, all in all making a great game.

The only weakness I see so far is the story but as the gameplay is so amazing I do not care that the story is not as fleshed out as a game like GTA V.

Mad Max has been slated for being repetitive, but if the core element that keeps making you doing is fun then where the downside? The graphicsMad Max has been slated for being repetitive, but if the core element that keeps making you doing is fun then where the downside? The graphics are beautiful, the story is pretty good, the combat is great. Upgrades keep giving your never ending hunt for scrap purpose. The world is huge and IS a wasteland but there's always something around the corner. The audio is near perfect, Voice acting is top notch too with the slight screwed up face now and then. I cannot recommend this more. Expand

Yes the combat (Batman) is easy, yet one tricky racing quest (main story) has effectively halted my game progress. For all that, I like it, yes there is repetition, no it's not one of 2015's giant games, but it's fun, particularly if you enjoy the Mad Max universe. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is an actual tragedy. I'd rather **** in my hand and clap than give it the slightest bit of recognition or praise.
The game is based around the movie, which I don't like either, but I can actually see where people find their entertainment from that.
But the game is something special. If they changed the title to "Handy Manny's Apocalyptic Desert simulator" I'd understand, but no, it's literally a mechanic looking for bits of his car, fighting off a few gypos on the way in a sandbox. Then when all the gypos are dead in the sand box you're in, you get moved to a new one, with the same family of gypos, and the same missions.
I think its safe to say that the creator of the game ate a few shrooms and drove into a halting site, with the outcome being a few inbred nackers coming out and beating the ****e out of the car with their broken hurleys, and robbed the hubcaps off it aswell, so he had to look for the parts when he was sober. That's literally the game.
I fell sorry for the people that payed full price for it tbh but I bought Tererria and played it for 10 minutes so what do I know.
It feels like pissing out golf balls
