    Might be a good game for kids.
    City is small and empty.
    It's more like a flashy game with colourful abilities than a brutal game that it used to be.

    A blast of a game, with fantastic gameplay and world/level design. Whilst the binary choice system has always felt a little limiting and this game doesn't really break that trend, the gameplay implications of your story decision are just as great if not better than the other mainline Infamous games.

    Powers galore! its so dope how Delson equips his powers. the combat is so entertaining to use and very distinctive from each other plus they come with their own SUPER finisher move thingy. the story is lengthy and world is very detailed and feels lived in and overran by the D.U.Ps. boss fights are unique as hell and a bunch of side activities to do. PS4 seller for sure.

    Strong ps4 exclusive. Gameplay is very pleasing and basically drugs you with new experience of infamous games. Story is very intresting but some missions may be a little difficult for Sunday players.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I loved this game. The graphics, the super powers, and the story are just tops. Stop reading this review and go play it (and First Light) right now.

    Why I gave it 9/10 despite the above:

    1. I wish there was more to do after the last boss (if you haven't already cleared all the districts like I did);

    2. I think the difficulty spikes too much for certain bossed; and

    3. You get the fourth elemental power really late in the game ... like at the last boss.

    REAL SPOILERS BEGIN:

    Like it's predecessors, inFamous and inFamous 2, this is a game where you're dropped in a sandbox (or open world if you prefer) and have super powers to level up and bad guys to kill. You have to uncover the plot of some unscrupulous super villain.

    The characters are done well here too. Like Kessler, Augustine is of the mind that the ends justify the means and it works perfectly. Reggie is always protecting his brother, and I was sad when Reggie died even though I already knew he would. Fetch and Eugene even get mini-arcs of their own. It's great. Delsin's maturing throughout the game doesn't feel forced, but rather a natural response to his circumstances.

    As you go there are technically two enemy factions - the DUP and some drug dealers. I suppose there are also the police if you play on "evil karma", but I only did the good karma path. The drug dealers don't have much personality, but the DUP and their conduits are really good antagonists.

    I love that each encounter in this open world - aside from some story missions - can be done anyway you want. Lots of bad guys? Maybe just start from on top of a building and slam down. Or take out the cameras first.... or switch powers because maybe video is better here than smoke or neon.

    An improvement from inFamous and inFamous 2 is travelling and traversal. You can basically fly in this game if you level up and time your jumps. It makes getting around town - or running from enemies - really easy.

    The powers are also cool - you have 4 to choose from, smoke, neon, video and concrete. Each is unique and better for different things. I preferred neon to the rest, but that's just a preference. They all feel balanced.

    The only complaints I have are more like nitpicks:

    1. I have the habit of clearing out all available side missions and districts BEFORE taking on story missions. So when I got video - there was only like 5 missions to go. I didn't get to use concrete at all outside of the last mission because the game was done when I defeated Augustine.

    So I wish there was more to do for someone like me. I did download First Light and that has more of an end-game in the arena challenges, so I scratched that itch, just not with the main game.

    2. I didn't like being given concrete at the last boss and then having to master it on the fly. Last bosses should be the culmination of everything you learned, not just some new mechanic introduced that needs to be mastered immediately. I played the whole game on normal, but lowered the difficulty to easy for the last boss because of this weird difficulty spike.

    3. Further to #1 I didn't get to use concrete much because I literally got it at the end of the game - because of the way I play.

    But those are blips in what was otherwise I really fun experience.

    It makes me wonder why developers don't make more games like this one. It's 10-20 hours of quality, replayable with different karma/powers and feels complete.

    Ah... back when games weren't just grind fests trying to suck money out of your wallet.... Seriously in 2021 it's a breath of fresh air to finally play this and First Light (the DLC).

    Haven't tried this game yet? Like super powers? Like open-world?

    All four powers are unique and fun to use. Neon being the best for sure. My only criticism is it was pretty short and has a lot of filler missions but it was still super fun I loved the final boss battle. Not overly difficult even on the expert setting. Its just short and a bit repetitive. Nothing super special to it but it;s a fun game to play and beat in a few hours

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So the Infamous series for those unfamiliar, is a series of games revolving around a population of powerful people called "Bio-terrorists". And in the game Infamous second son, we play Delsin, a funny boy with a penchant for rebellion who one day discovers he can take the powers of those bio-terrorists. And you will have to choose whether you use the same powers for good or bad purposes. I will not do spoilers for the plot, because I will let you experience it for yourselves. The gameplay is very fun, the switching between powers is almost instantaneous, and it's very fun to travel the world with your powers everywhere. The world of Infamous second son is simply spectacular, everywhere in the world you will find illuminated signs in restaurants, chimneys, electronics stores and many other things that you can use to fill your power meter. In addition, you can do a lot of things in the world, such as finding DUP skimmers (which are an organization that tries to capture bio-terrorists), destroying DUP areas and freeing the citizens imprisoned there, and more. And on the PlayStation 5 the game can reach 4K resolution at 60 frames per second or 1080p resolution at 120 frames per second, which is just amazing.
    In conclusion, Infamous second son is an amazingly simple game, Sucker Punch managed to perfectly show the incredible leap between the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4, and on the way give us one of the best games for the PlayStation 4.    … Expand

    A really great and unique game.
    I played this game when it came out over 7 years ago, and still remember the fun I had whilst playing it.
    I really can't think of anything negative to say about this game.

    That's why I definitely recommend you to play this game, if you haven't already.

    First infamous that I play, I play more or less entertaining, a little short for my taste.

    A lot of NPCs and cars are repeated in the city even so today graphically it looks very good

    Playing this for the first time, using a ps5. It's an OK game. Controls feel kind of floaty, and the lighting makes it hard to see. The powers are kind of underwhelming and odd (smoke, neon, video?).

    As a game that is basically free these days, it may be worth a few hours dabbling, but I quickly grew tired of it after probably 10-15 hours, and am probably not going back

    Infamous is a series I’ve always wanted to get into but was never able to due to me not owning a PS3. One day I’ll play the first 2, but I got to experience Second Son and I loved it. It kinda bugged me how you only had 3 powers to play with for the whole game and only get the 4th after the final boss, it’s a pretty OP ability though so it made the post game a cakewalk. This game isn’t afraid to kick your teeth in at times though, especially at the beginning I was struggling a lot. But if you play smart, you’ll be rewarded, and that’s my favorite kind of difficulty. One that dances on the line of don’t be stupid and you won’t die stupid deaths. Overall, it’s a great exclusive to experience.… Expand

    I was honestly expecting a lot, since I was a fan of the first two chapter of inFamous. But really, this version doesn't come close to the McGrath storyline, gameplay, and overall feeling of grandeur. For me, this was a experimental project from SuckerPunch to test the PS4 graphics, which are amazing at most points except when sometimes it is really dark and even hard to distinguish.I was honestly expecting a lot, since I was a fan of the first two chapter of inFamous. So instead of having one super cool power like lighting and improving it, you end up with different boring powers which do the same basically. The boss fights are embarrassingly bad. The game is frustrating to play, since the firing powers are almost the only way to kill the NPCs (melee is super bad). The storyline is short and zero intriguing. I am very disappointed of the game and should not be included on the inFamous series.    … Expand

Ao iniciar e jogar essa bela obra, me assustei de cara com os gráficos lindos e com a jogabilidade suave e viciante ao usar o novo Dualshock 4 na época, simplesmente incrível a forma como esse jogo é feito, onde dá vontade de platinar com gosto. Me surpreendeu de início ao fim na sua história, que não é tão absurda, consegue ser genérica em alguns pontos, mas rende uma bela jogatina comigo desfrutando dos personagens bem carismáticos, como o protagonista Delsin, que é um adolescente que descobre que tem poderes, mas não possui nenhuma responsabilidade. Eu diria ao ver que o maior defeito desse jogo, é a falta de variedade de inimigos e os cortes de cenas esquisitos que surgem de repente, como na cena do Delsin sendo capturado e salvo pelos anjos, na minha jogatina, a tela simplesmente cortou de uma cena para outro em segundos, não sei se foi por bug, mas aconteceu nas duas zeradas que fiz.… Expand

    The gameplay and the open world were good, but I can't say the same about the DLC. There is a very bad DLC. In the same way, the story is not beautiful either.     My first ps4 game was technically amazing for me back then. I still consider it to be one of my favorite games mainly because of the sentiment when it comes to the story, I can admit that Infamous 1 and 2 were better structured but it is still an amazing game.

    O Jogo é incrível e a História é muito boa, só não dou nota 10 pois não é possível pular as cutscenes, mesmo que você ja tenha zerado o jogo, oque atrapalha pra quem vai platinar, porque a pessoa tem que zerar pelo manos uma vez a mais em um caminho diferente do usado na primeira vez!!

As far as powers go, this might be the best sucker punch has done since infamous 2. and I use MIGHT very carefully here. The graphics are superior than any infamous game by far and as well as the gameplay. But huge negative things this game does is the lack of depth with side quests, notInfamous second son is a great infamous but, it's also a infamous game that takes a lot of steps back.     I was drawn to this game by graphics which look stunning even by today standards. Rain-soaked, neon-lit Seattle is very detailed and believable. People in the streets behave realistically, there are many cars with some driving AI (which tends to be a great deal since Cyberpunk fail).
    I was impressed by the story. It's surprisingly emotional, you naturally feel sympathy for the convict who tries to reunite with his daughter, drug addict who takes revenge for her brother's death or bullied gamer who seeks acceptance and satisfaction in video games. Chemistry between Rowe brother is also strong suit of the game.
    Where game partially fails is gameplay. It might seem a bit repetitive and tedious. Throughout the entire playthrough I had an impression that Delsin is a weak superhero. The game doesn't allow you to increase his health so oftentimes you find yourself running away from battlefield amidst plethora of projectiles hitting you with pinpoint accuracy. One way to deal with it is to abuse the karmic superattack but it seems a bit cheesy. While you are eventually gonna have four types of super-powers they all feel very similar in how you use them.
    Overall it's a strong 8,5 game but the inclusion of Nirvana tips the scale somewhat so I gave it score of 9. It's a hidden gem in Playstation library.    … Expand

    This game has become a PS4 classic for a reason. The game is fun to play and easy to navigate. The choice of good and evil paths make the game easily replayable, with both endings being satisfying. Getting the game to 100% fairly accessible and easy, highly recommended.

    Great gameplay, but game is way too short. Traversal is the best part by far. Was a little disappointed as you have literally nothing to do after finishing the game. Your choices are not so hard, is always a good one and a bad one, nothing to make you think about or test your moral.

    Great game with great combat, even after playing through the game its fun to just turn it on and try out different combat styles. Story was average. Also the good and bad karma point system is nice, the good karma being harder to get level 5 than the bad one ibviously. But enjoyable playing through with both bad and good karma.

    The game is good. The most pleasant point is the effects and light story that you will enjoy without hard thinking. Everything else is good and delivers nothing more than expected from the average well developed game.

    Great game with incredible gameplay and fast combat/movement. It feels superb to progress and master new powers and techniques. The narrative lacks depth but the overall result is fantastic.

    A great third installment to the InFamous series. Solid graphics, fun gameplay, and really enjoyable controls. Definitely a little repetitive (like all the InFamous games are), but a great game overall!

    Benim PS4 alma sebebim bu oyundur. Oynanışını ve yetenek ağacını, gelişme hissini çok sevidğim bir oyun. Hikaye biraz ortalama fakat bu oynanışla ne kadar klişe hikaye olsa da 4-5 kere bitirmeme rağmen çok gözüme çarpmıyor bu klişeler.

    The only thing I wish this game had is a lock on mode. The aiming was so damn annoying. The game was good though. The Neon power was cool af. The story was alright. Don't have much to say. It was a good game.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Infamous Second Son is the first game of the "Infamous"series that I have played and I absolutely loved it! The setting and the story are well made, the characters are good, the gameplay is incredibly satisfying and offers some kind of variety with the multiple powers. I might say I didn't really like how the game ends if you choose the infamous path, too brutal for my own liking, but apart from that, it was a blast from start to end. Got the platinum trophy in just 23 hours!… Expand

    Very very good graphics for 2014-2020.
    Very good gameplay. Uhmmm i think story is kinda meh but not bad. In this game we have 4 elemental power and 4 of them are perfect. Smoke is very good for multiple enemies. Neon is very good for exploring. Video is very good for damage. Concrete is not very good but very fun for end-game. +things for this    I can say this game is realy fun.

    inFAMOUS: Second Son is a blend of great combat, amazing storytelling, and unforgettable characters. It might be the best superhero/villain game I've ever played.

    Lets talk about the combat and parkour. Combat is fluid, and each power has separate traits and weaknesses. Smoke is the most balanced, ranging from moderate hit speed and moderate damage. Neon has faster attack speed but    inFAMOUS: Second Son is a blend of great combat, amazing storytelling, and unforgettable characters. It might be the best superhero/villain game I've ever played.

    Lets talk about the combat and parkour. Combat is fluid, and each power has separate traits and weaknesses. Smoke is the most balanced, ranging from moderate hit speed and moderate damage. Neon has faster attack speed but deals less damage. Video has slower attack speed, but deals more damage, and concrete has slower attack speed but kills standard enemies in one shot. Parkour is also fun, and I find myself jumping from building to building to be incredibly satisfying. However, video and concrete are the only two powers I deem to be useless in parkour, since video has wings that you can fly up walls with, but the can't be upgraded to last as long as you want, and concrete, you can hover off the ground, but you also can't upgrade it to last as long as you want. Which is unfortunate, because concrete is the last power you get, and it should be a good one.

    Well, what about the story and characters? Story is great, characters are likeable, especially Delsin and Reggie, and the main antagonist, Augustine, is understandable, and you can (kind of) get behind why she does what she does. Other character like Fetch and Eugene are great additions too. You play as Delsin throughout the game, and the game seems to adopt this kind of "choose your path" gameplay, which is really cool. But if you chose the evil side, it wouldn't really make much sense. See, the game doesn't give any suggestion that Delsin is the type of guy to kill a bunch of civilians and be fine with it. At the beginning of the game, he seems like a really nice guy, who cares for his people, and will save anyone in trouble. Killing civilians seems out of pocket for a character like Delsin, he doesn't have any backstory that suggest why he would do these things.

    Lastly is the world. Seattle, Washington is a beautiful and vibrant world, and the day-night cycle adds a type of uniqueness to it. There's much to do in the world, but it's not too much to the point where it feels overwhelming. There are several districts you can conquer and clear out, so if you've finished the campaign, you have things to do after the game ends. Enemies are fairly balanced, and none of them feel over-powered (maybe the turrets on Expert difficulty). Boss fights are great, balanced, and fluid, and enemy variety is introduced perfectly. The world is never empty, and civilians allow the world to feel alive.

    In conclusion, inFAMOUS: Second Son is an incredible "choose your path" game. Even though the evil karma side is awkward to play on, and video and concrete feel bad to use for parkour, excellent combat, great characters, and the bright and colorful world of Seattle are what make this game great.    … Expand
