    The 4 powers featured in this game are really fantastic, especially the neon one. The graphics are excellent and impressive, truly showcasing the great power of the next-gen consoles. However, the story is extremely short and the mission fighting in the lava is really frustrating and repetitive. Besides, the side missions like destroying the CCTV are boring.     When I first watched the trailer I thought. OMFG! This is going to be an amazing spectacular game. This is the kind of story we need. Second son had everything to be an awesome game. But critical thinking isn't allowed. This seems to be written by a 13 year old kid. Actually this is a pretty much a watered down Politically correct PG-13 GAME. There isn't a good villain and the establishment created isn't scary enough for you to feel that you have to fight against. Another serious flaw is that you're jumping here and there and sometimes there's no reaction of the passers by to get to the point that I exploded the ground close to some passers and them didn't even stop drinking their coffee. Like infamous 2. We saw some guys strolling around while monsters were wrecking the **** out of the city. This is just ridiculously stupid.… Expand

    A good game that can get very repetitive. Doesn't take long to do a full play through, it will capture your attention for a few days until the repetitiveness becomes too much. Not much replay value but still worth a play through if you have a PS4.

    No tiene multijugador, me molesta que no tuve ningun problema en sacar el 100% de los trofeos pues el juego no implica ningun reto, todos los trofeos son desbloqueables como parte de la historia, ninguno implica hacer algo dificil, los graficos muy buenos y solo eso.

    Story - As a gamer who played the first two of the series. The story of this game is worst compared to the previous titles. In fact, it is very ordinary, short and nothing really in the whole campaign felt as unique and everything is predictable. It just shows the aftermath of Cole's actions from Infamous 2 and revolves around the discrimination felt by the surviving "bioterrorist" in theStory - As a gamer who played the first two of the series. The story of this game is worst compared to the previous titles. In fact, it is very ordinary, short and nothing really in the whole campaign felt as unique and everything is predictable. It just shows the aftermath of Cole's actions from Infamous 2 and revolves around the discrimination felt by the surviving "bioterrorist" in the world. As to the characters, All in all, It is BAD, Delsin is not that interesting and has a lot of corny and annoying jokes, his evil persona is so out of place and a try-hard to be "evil" while it is very obvious that his good path is his true personality. As a conclusion, he is not a good new protagonist to change Cole. The supporting cast however are much more interesting esp that guy who likes videogames (avoiding spoilers). Ill give this aspect a score of 6/10.

    Gameplay - The positives, the gameplay is so smooth and has little to no bugs or glitch whatsoever. Delsin has not only one but FOUR different powers in the game which is divisive and useful in many and different situations and battles in the game. The negative side however is the small number of skills and scope of Delsins power in the game. Every power has their own version of R1 and L1s and glide and dashes and nothing really distinguishes a power from another power other than how they look. Its should have been better if they just made more skills available for us. An okay score of 8 to me.

    Graphics - Now this is the part where this game lives up to the hype. The game is SOOOO GORGEOUS AND SO SMOOTH. One of the best graphics of the game in the year it was released. No graphical issues, lags or frame rate drops are occuring anywhere despite a lot of explosions appearing on screen. The facial expression of every character from the movement of their eyes to their movement of their lips and cheeks are all detailed and almost realistic. The motion acting of every character is smooth and the cutscenes are like watching a film. A score of 10/10 deserves such effort by Insomniac Games.

    Soundtrack and Sound - Voice acting is top notched. You have Troy Baker who tbh, the only reason why Delsin is not a failure of a protagonist. The guy's voice acting is awesome. Every actor and actresses in the game really put their best in order to put life to every character they did and I LOVE IT. As to the soundtrack however, personally, I never really liked the punk style hardcore music, Its not really my thing and it didnt really fit to the storyline the game wants you to feel. A score of 6 for this.

    Total Average = 7.5

    This is a game which continues one of the better series from Playstation's exclusives and this game is the worst of the 3 games in its series. The protagonist is weak, overall cast are weak also, the story is average, the powers are many but nothing really was interesting and the overall campaign felt normal and nothing really memorable happened. All in all, despite the great graphics and smooth gameplay, every other thing felt ordinary if not dissapointing. Dont get me wrong, if it is a stand alone game or a new ip it would be better but it being a successor to its succesful predecessors would also be the reason of its criticism. That is all.     Having superpowers in a "normal" world has never been so much fun. But about halfway through the game my interest has waned slightly. The story is not inspired enough to make this an outstanding game.

    A mediocore game. I got this game very cheap around 15$ and for that price i got my money worth.
    But for me the city is to boring and nothing to do.
    It has a good gameplay and a decent story thought.

    Infamous second son is more of a story driven game, with ok narrative, having played other games within this genre I personally think this is the worst out of a small bunch. One of the problems is the fact that you can't utilize more than 1 set of powers, which is very poor. However the main concept and graphics are great

    For it's beautiful looking cityscape and location, this is got to be the most lonely depressing place to be in. There is no one to interact with unless you're battling a set of enemies.     Very fun game. Much better than inFamous 1. The story is nothing special but what do you expect? It is supposed to be a comic-book superhero game. inFamous is all about using your powers and causing chaos. The game has nice destructible environments and I hope we will see more destructible environments in games in the future. It's not on the level I want to see like you can destroy anVery fun game. It's not on the level I want to see like you can destroy an enemy outpost and blow up cars but if you attack at a mirror in a building or a door then nothing happens but hopefully this changes soon and we will get games with fully destructible environments but I highly appreciate the efforts made by this game.

    My biggest complaint is that though the game allows you to be either Good or Evil, both the playthroughs feel largely the same and the story remains unaltered. It makes a second run pointless. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but this is also a very short game even on the hardest difficulty it is very easy and will not take more than 10 hours unless you are spending a lot of time on the side activities which are kinda dull like finding a camera or killing some target.

    One thing I noticed on my second (Evil) playthrough is that the game also has a side mission called The Paper Trail or something like that and it requires you to connect to the internet once. I was not able to play this mission on my first (Good) playthrough. Maybe it was there and I didn't notice so I'm not sure if this is only exclusive to Evil karma. But anyways, I first thought that it was gonna be interesting since it was about a conduit made of Paper. (He/She leaves paper behind every where they go.) But it just went on and on and on where you have to follow the trail over and over again and click pictures and it just became a chore. The side content is really not worth looking into. But you still have a nice 10 hour worth of solid story and gameplay. I wouldn't recommend this at $60 but it is definitely worth at least $30 or so. I should also mention that the graphics look really nice and I was able to see pores on the characters faces and the soundtrack is awesome too.    … Expand

So, when I started the game, my first impression was a bit negative. However, after a few hours, I found the game fun and creative.     This is    Infamous Second Son was one of the first game being released on PS4. Now, in 2020, I can safely say that the game didn't aged really well. So, when I started the game, my first impression was a bit negative. However, after a few hours, I found the game fun and creative. I liked the fact that Delsin has many different powers and you have a lot of freedom in the way you use them.

    This is also an open world sandbox game which was quite new in 2014. I didn't completed all of the optional quests as I found repetitive to always fight DUP agents. For the main story, you can expect a game that will last around 10 hours.

    This game, for me, was not really memorable and the story didn't hooked me at all...I acknowledge this is a good game overall but I was looking forward to just finish it and go to the next game

    The inFamous series is just a fantastic story. The idea of being a conduit is absolutely fun. Second Son is a great game from start to finish. Highly recommend, hopefully a new installment comes sometime in the near future.

Delsin Rowe is a great protagonist no matter what path you take; he's smart, funny, has great character design, and he is brilliantly portrayed by Troy Baker. In a nutshell, this is an interesting game. Actually it reminds me a lot on Prototype series of games and that is generally not a bad thing. Prototype was a solid game with fiew issues. One of them was overpowered main protagonist. InFamous is a carbon copy. We also have overpowered main protagonist and a bit silly narrative.You can be good or you can be bad, the choice is yours. In fact, this prolongs gameplay after you finish main story. It has no difference if you use your power for good or for bad. All superpowers are basically the same: quick and deadly. No matter which power you set active , it will always kill your enemies in most spectacular way. Technically, this is a PlayStation 4 showcase game so It's aesthetically pleasing.The attention to detail is amazing and getting around the beautifully rendered Seattle is a real treat for your eyes. In the end, should you play/buy this game? Yes. This is a must for all ps4 owners.… Expand

    The only downside is the graphics. For 2017, after being mindblown by awesome    I didn't know what to expect from this game as it was my first Infamous game.     Again I've finished the game years and s after it was launched, and for me it didn't aged well at all. This contrast mode they've put in turned out terrible, IMO, even if I set it on low and raise brightness the most I can, the game still weirdly dark. like really dark, I can't see a thing most of the time. Plus the aiming is old and unefficient and there's no lock on. Those two thingsAgain I've finished the game years and s after it was launched, and for me it didn't aged well at all. This contrast mode they've put in turned out terrible, IMO, even if I set it on low and raise brightness the most I can, the game still weirdly dark. like really dark, I can't see a thing most of the time. Plus the aiming is old and unefficient and there's no lock on. Those two things together make the game a lot harder than it should be. At one point, whenever i had to fight multiple enemies I had to "dodge" and hide so I could kill one at a time, because there is no efficient way to really dodge or block at all. Not to mention those heavy guys that can easily kill you with like 3 hits, and they are attack sponges so you can't face them head on, either.
    Anyways, it's not terrible, but I was happy it didn't took long to finish it, and I'm not going back any time soon.    … Expand

    inFAMOUS Second Son is a phenomenal game. It is such a fun game to play, thanks to Delsin's superhuman abilities, the outstanding triple A graphics and a quite interesting story line. The game's only flaw is that it can be repetitive at times, and the ambient soundtrack is not that great.

    The story is poor too. Seriously, don't put this game at the top of your backlog. I uninstalled "First Light" and I    Aged poorly. The last arc (last couple of missions) rob the player from the freedom because we are forced to use specific powers. It's also waves after waves of enemies, mini-bosses, and even BOSSES (plural). It's as if the final arc had been developed be a different team.

    The game has mediocre and repetitive game play topped off with a story line that aims for an ambitious tale about discrimination and the dangers of persecution but comes off as cliche and cheesy. Overall, it's a mediocre launch title that has strong visuals and nothing else.
    P.s The characters are about as cliche as they come and the motives for their actions are so convoluted it's laughable.

    This game is really impressive. Really just everything. The graphics, the gameplay, the story. I really felt like my powers were growing and the gameplay got more and more complex. Also, you get to climb the space needle. Pretty cool.

It doesn't set itself apart from other games like this beyond the fact that it's on a next-gen console. It is alot of fun and very enjoyable but, even getting 100% in the world is not that difficult. It's a fun game that deserves to be played if you have the system already. But this is not the type of game that sells the system, as it's trying to be billed as right now. This is a AAA game that looks pretty but will soon be forgotten once more games are released for the console. The main character is so facetious, yet so highly likeable. The relationships between all the characters are very well-oiled, emotional with funny dialogue all around.     There are very few minor faults in the game. But if there are any clear ones, functionally speaking the movement mechanics (especially climbing buildings) are a bit suspect.     I played for 2 hours. It started good but it's too difficult for me even in easy mode, so I quited. It's a pity 'cause although it seems quite different from the earlier Infamous, I found it too repetitive and difficult in only 2 hours. I don't know why there are so many bad games for ps4 if I compare it with ps3 and ps2.

    Now the Karma is something I should explain, almost every action you make you choose between good and bad karma. Bad Karma is probably easier to go with, you obtain better abilities with Bad Karma but you’re a super hero in this game so being a selfish dick that I couldn’t relate to so I chose to go for Good Karma.

    Are there any similar games?

    I haven’t played anything that I could say its similar to. I’m sure its similar to the other Infamous games but I haven’t played any of them.

    Favorite Character?

    I liked the main Characters (Delsin) brother Reggie. Reggie was a stereotypical older brother who was a police officer. Overly protective and there wasn’t a lot of character development but I at least find him to be one of the more relatable characters in the game.

    Would you play it again?

    No, I enjoyed the game but nothing really stood out about this game that makes me want to play this again or even another infamous game.

    During the storyline, the city is too obscure in my opinion (I even had to increase the bright to be able to see), and it does not surprise as the original game did. The graphics are not brilliant either; they look like PS3 graphics.

    I do appreciate that you can choose between good and bad karma (I prefer bad; it is easier to be evil hehe). The differences are not huge anyway, but at least there are different endings and some minor varieties in powers. Another aspect I really liked is the fact that the game uses some of the options of the controller: microphone, tactile screen, movement... The game had been launched together with the console if I remember well, so it is normal they wanted to integrate those elements.

    Overall, it is not a bad game whatsoever. However, I also think there are better action games on PS4 now.    … Expand

    The game narrative with its ups and downs, the main group of characters are charismatic, but is very little explored during a game campaign, sees very little development, making some moments more difficult to make a big impact on the plot.

    In a sustainable way, the story is good and has good characters but everything seems very and empty, this takes the Karma system already present in other games in the franchise or the system was expanded taking into account small choices in its gameplay or that it is very interesting, but big choices are not very interesting representing almost no dilemma.

I finished it in a couple days but they were a really fun couple of days I loved the mechanics the idea of taking other powers it was awesome, but I have two problem with it. It’s short, the death in the game is unsatisfactory and leaves so much to be desired even if the ending was very sweet, and the evil mode.

    Boy, if this game was just the evil mode my score would drop down easy, but the evil route, oh boy.

    Yes I know evil route is supposed to be easier but that’s the keyword EASIER not so easy I beat the game in literally a Under 5 HOURS

    Wow, the evil routes story, absolute RUBBISH, nothing changes drastically from the good route other than the ending, a couple of missions change but only a couple and what I really hate is nothing changes towards the end, I thought maybe you’d kill your brother or kill the other characters but no the worst thing that evil delsin does is bang a girl who is obviously in no state to know what she’s doing and kill Betty and assumingly all of the people of the tribe which is only in the ENDING of the evil route.

    Ending- LAUGHABLE, LITERALLY, I LAUGHED

    Game-Reggie doesn’t even try to stop delsin he’s just like “ah cool killing street performers again whatever”

In all actuality, what this game actually lacks is the depth in the world, as the only thing that's left to do is running around in the city killing or helping people after the main storyline has been finished. Enemy AI is not too simplistic and is done quite well. The graphics are top-notch and never decrease in quality. All the powers when executed look amazing. I guess that's the aesthetic of the whole game; it has that refined and gorgeous appeal to it, being simple yet detailed and well presented.     Personally, I chose to be good in my playthrough, and although this was quite a short game, I won't be going back to play the other side for the time being. I did enjoy my playthrough, but this isn't the best game out there.

    Infamous can be quite fun thanks to the four sets of powers you unlock, but unfortunately the protagonist Delsin feels quite clunky to control, at least at first, and even throughout the game I thought the combat felt too loose. It can be exciting and chaotic, but it can also feel unsatisfying because it's hard to tell how close you are to dying, and because there isn't much depth to the melee or ranged combat. The sets of powers could've done with being more functionally distinct - besides having their own visual identities, there are a lot of similarities in how they actually play. Overall, the combat never fully clicked with me, but I liked it enough.

    Traversal can be fun, if a little clumsy, but the climbing, which you admittedly don't have to do much of, is too fiddly.

    Second Son is still a decent looking game in 2020, and the powers all have a unique visual style to them, but the world just looks way too dark sometimes and it's hard to tell what's going on. When you unleash your powers it all looks flashy as the screen fills with impressive particle effects, but the frame rate can be very unstable when there's a lot of action happening.

    The open world shows its age a bit in its basic design, as there's barely anything to do except for what is essentially liberating districts. The side content is all very simple and easy to get through quickly. None of it is too much of a chore, but none of it is particularly interesting. The spray painting activities are quite unique and cool but very gimmicky.

    The story is passable, and as others have pointed out the lore seems quite inspired by X Men. Most of the characters aren't very likeable, and Delsin can be quite annoying which made me struggle to get invested in Infamous Second Son.

    As it is, this is still a fun, short title with some good replayability. It doesn't do anything exceptionally well, but it's still a decent game.    … Expand

    After three years of playing it for the first time, this game is still one of my favorite PS4 games, is incredibly fun and the graphics are very good. The only two things why i didn't rate it with a 10 is because the story is not as great as the first two inFAMOUS, and there's not much difference with being good or bad in the game.

    I play this game since i first bought ps4 last year, i rented this game from my friend for 5 bucks a month, i stunned on how good this game is. Defining next gen and ps4 launch title. Last month i got this game for free on ps plus igc, im happy to replay this game again, the seattle is so good in this game. Worth buying, and next year im definitly get ghost of tsusima, day one

    As for me, the story is ultra short, this is an open world game, which you can complete in 8-10 hours. Seriously? And gg actions are so un-logical.

    Infamous Second Son doesn't try to hide the fact that it was clearly meant as a launch title meant to show off the new things a PS4 can do, but that didn't stop it from being a great game.

    A great game with nice characters and many fun things to do.
    The new powers are amazing and beautiful to watch... but lack the consistency of Cole's electric tricks.

    I was really excited for this game. I really enjoyed the first two on PS3 - but something about this one just didnt click with me. The graphics and setting were great - and I actually liked the main character despite that being one of the biggest issues critics had with the game. Traversal was fun - and I liked exploring. There aren't really gangs. Sure, there are the dealers and those mafia guys, but there isn't really anyone like the gangs in Infamous 1, or the ice conduits in Infamous 2. The city is sealed tight, sure, but it is probably safer than real Seattle. Give it a year and after "freeing" a zone I bet there are double the number of dealers and mafias. The normal policeman in-game are as tough as wet cardboard.
    If the player chooses to be good . . . He is doing good. If Delsin could be a part of the DUP everyone would love them and be more cooperative. They would just need to be more nice to people and people would kiss the ground where they walk for healing sick people and crushing crime.
    And, if the player chooses to act evil, it just shows WHY the DUP was there to begin with - showing that they should have been even tougher. It shows why people should support the DUP and enlist to to stop those mass murder loonies.
    Graphics are nice, music is Ok, combat is nice, but the story is so dumb and bad written that the game makes me feel like fighting WITH the DUP than AGAINST the DUP. Also, **** Reggie. He is a ****    … Expand

    Amo muito esse jogo, foi o primeiro que platinei no PS4 e considero os graficos, historia e poderes o melhor da Franquia, temos muito carinho por esse jogo, recomendo muito o jogo e esta no Top 10 melhores jogos que joguei na minha vida, espero muito a continuação, porem irá vir o Ghost of Tsushima.     Generic openworld game, it doesn't shine in any aspect but also it doesn't fail in anyone. Once you start it you won't stop until you have cleaned all the city from enemies. Using delsin powers is really fun btw. 8/10.

En gameplay esta divertido, salvo que los poderes parecen ser desechables, en cuanto encuentras el siguiente en la campaña, automaticamente el anterior, a comparacion, es menos conveniente y menos efectivo para el gameplay, aparte el ultimo poder, el mas fuerte de todos, ya lo adquirimos al final del juego.
    En cuanto a la historia, tiene muchos huecos argumentales de continuidad, ahora ya no necesitan activar sus genes con la esfera del primer juego, o una explosión que la simule como en el segundo, sino que se activan por que si, ya que hasta donde sabemos, ni los prisioneros ni Delsing estuvieron expuestos a la explosion de la esfera ni de "la bestia", y otra es que, el final del segundo juego queda sin sentido, se nos explico que todos aquellos con genes conductores (con poderes activos o no) moririan, pero resulta que siempre no?!
    En cuanto a las misiones secundarias, resulta que literalmente son las mismas, limitandose a 6: encontrar una camara, pintar esa pared, pintar ese letrero, atacar a esa patrulla o puesto, encontrar un audio, encontrar a un agente encubierto... Y así solo esas dividiéndose repetitivamente por segmentos del mapa en un especie de copia-pega que se termina volviendo tedioso.
    Me compre el ps4 solo para jugar este, ya que los anteriores me habían dejado alucinado de lo buenos que eran, y me lleve tremenda decepción.    … Expand

The gameplay of "InFAMOUS: Second Son" is just as satisfying (and explosive) of the past two entries. Introducing 4 brand new powers smoke, neon, video, and concrete, "InFAMOUS: Second Son" allows players to have fun and experiment with all 4 powers, although they could be a bit more varied. Personally i could sit down for hours just exploring the city of Seattle and fighting off the D.U.P to liberate each district , slowly but surely loosing their clutch. Which brings me into the story of this game. To put it blunt, it could be better. Its not bad, not in the slightest. But it could be a little longer and more interesting. Maybe its just about how "InFAMOUS 2" had such a high staked and emotional story that kinda gave a sense of disappointment for some players when it comes to the story of "InFAMOUS: Second Son". Overall, "InFAMOUS: Second Son" is a fantastic game that every PS4 owner should have and leaves (most) fans excited for the next installment of "InFAMOUS".… Expand

    Infamous second son es un videojuego con un gameplay muy fluido, la historia se me hizo latera con el pasar de la aventura, algo que calificaria como positivo es las desiciones que te hacen elegir entre dos caminos. para cualquier poseedor de una ps4 le recomiendo pasarse este juego

    Infamous may be fun and interesting on the first hours of gameplay, but the rest of the game makes you feel empty and bored. My biggest issue with this game is the poor story and repetitive gameplay . In my opinion, the gameplay is ok, but lacks of something to make it fun and enjoyable. Delsin (main character) is not a good protagonist as Cole (Infamous 1 and 2). In general, is a mediocre game.

    I've played this game in 2021 on PS5 and after 7(!!!) years after release this game is a bit outdated. Next thing to discuss is combat system - it's much better than story and characters but I didn't find it awesome - it's ok, not good, not terrible. I understand the complexity of implementing super-skills in open world but probably would be better to have less amount of skills and invest that saved time into several skill.

    So honestly the real score of this game is about 7.0. But as far as it is 7 years old and in 2014 I had scored it better so I've set 8.0.

    Btw one more plus of that game is that it is quite short - about 10 hours.    … Expand

    Infamous: Second Son feels more like a spin-off to Infamous 1 & 2 than like a sequel. The main character is a loser that takes no responsibility for his actions (whether you gain Good or Bad Karma doesn't matter). Delsin Rowe gets himself and others in danger repeatedly, and only thinks short term. He's the definition of a Millennial. Unfortunately, neither the villains or "Good guys" in this game have much of a brain, well except for Reggie.

    The previous games choose to have a cartoonish look to them, trading in realistic graphics for art style. With this entry it is mostly gone in favour of more realistic graphics. At times it looks beautiful, but i don't see the point. Shadow and black in this game is so dark that it will block your view, followed by flashing you with very bright light. It's rather uncomfortable. Without the art style from the previous games it is also harder to see what's happening on screen, and it feels more tame. What happened to the colour full monsters?

    But gameplay wise, Infamous Second Son does entertain. The better you get, the more you will use elevation, environmental objects and different powers. At Hard it feels like enemies are spamming you a bit too much, but it is manageable. The climbing system feels rather broken though. Delsin jumps on objects very inaccurate, and usually doesn't grab ledges that are right under his nose. Once you get Neon you won't have to climb anymore thankfully.

    I do hope that some studio returns to the Infamous franchise someday, but rather from an angle AGAINST the conduits. I would like to see more DUP soldiers that have genuine motivations to hunt the conduits, even if they might be conduits themselves.

    A fun game, but a bit of a tame and dumb game as well. It is a good game overall, and i give it a 7/10.    … Expand

    It definitely isn’t one of those games you talk about years after its release, but it showcases PS4’s capabilities well and in contrast to Killzone: Shadow Fall also does something else – guarantees fun from the beginning till the end. [CD-Action 05/2014, p.58]
