Graphics were amazing and the game play was really Fun. The only reasons I give it a 9 is no on-line game play and you can't swim but hey who needs to swim.

Excellent game. It does have a similar "feel" to the previous inFamous games, but everything has been taken up a few notches. Better gameplay, better graphics, better protagonist, better controls, better powers, better ambiance, etc etc. The story is the only thing keeping this from being a 10 in my book. It starts out great, but there isn't as much substance in the middle as I'd like. Not bad by any stretch of the imagination, but it doesn't pack quite the emotional punch that inFamous 2 did.

I love the characters. Cole was always just Ok to me, but Delsin has much more personality. The excellent voice actors have much to do with this. It's good to see Delsin embrace his new powers, unlike Cole. He's always seeking out new powers and is as happy as a kid at Christmas whenever he gets one. The evil grin he does right before dropping on enemies says a lot. Delsin's brother, Reggie, and the other conduits met in the game are very well done.

I've heard some people saying that this game is really short and repetitive, but I haven't found this to be the case at all. I haven't been clocking my gaming time, but it seemed comparable to inFamous 1 and inFamous 2 as far as I remember.

This is an extremely easy game to recommend, and not just because of the typical post-launch drought that most consoles experience.

Let's start off by being honest...inFAMOUS: Second Son is not the greatest game ever made as some want you to believe...It is also extremely far from the worst game ever made (Ride to Hell: Retribution holds that distinction). What inFAMOUS: Second Son is however, is a game with more or less the same mechanics that were present in the first two games on the PS3 with an updated story and vastly updated graphics. Instead of the very bland and gravely voiced Cole McGrath we get the snarky douchebag Delsin Rowe. At first i wasn;t the biggest fan of Cole's or Delsin's for that matter but just like the first two games you grow to love them with your choices in the game. The story at it's surface isn't anything special. Once you start to dig around and collect the dead drops in the combination ARG/in game "Paper Trail" mission i found myself wanting to know more about the D.U.P. and their involvement with Curden Cay (The prison that the captured "bio-terrorists" are sent to). Over all it would get a 7 from me but is boosted by the inclusiuon of an amazing mix of ARG and in game missions.
So at the end of the day:

    Pros:
Your choices, while simple, do affect the story so at least 2 play throughs are needed
Delsin is a much more entertaining character than Cole
    "super" moves are satisfying
ARG elements mixed with in game missions feels fresh

    Cons:
Frame rate issues when everything is exploding on screen
Story overall doesn't feel as good as I1&2
    The occasional glitch

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let's get started with what is ultimately not the most important part of a game: the graphics, facial animation, and particle effects in this game are beautiful. That goes without question. The environment is very realistic and is fun to play in.

Gameplay: Delsin's power sets are quite different that those used by Cole in the previous Infamous titles. He absorbs different powers from the environment depending on what is needed. Some provide added maneuverability and precision while others are fierce but don't help if you're trying to get around the city. Overall these powers are fun to use. Hit and run strategy is encouraged with the removal of the ability to take cover, and fighting while climbing (aiming while holding onto ledges and such) is discouraged by very high buildings and powers that allow you to ascend them easily. This does not detract much from gameplay however.

Open world: Sucker Punch got into open world design early on, and luckily for them it took off. People like having a lot of power, and a lot of space to let loose. However, a lot could be said about side mission integration. Shards can be found on the minimap after clearing a mean enemy base in certain districts, and after that the only reason to get 0% DUP presence is if you feel like being a completionist. This wasn't a problem in the first two Infamous Games since there were literally not enough missions to supply you with enough xp to unlock all the powers, you had to make and play their online levels as well if you really wanted everything, whereas I got almost all the powers on my evil playthrough while hardly clearing any districts.

Story: This story was significantly shorter than other Infamous games, and felt a little linear. Track down one conduit, get powers, track down another, get powers, track down another conduit, watch Reggie's very touching death scene that was actually really good, track down a conduit who is the head of the DUP, get powers in a boss fight, the end. The karma mechanic had little to no effect on the overall plot, which was disappointing.

Overall: If I had the option this review would be rated at 8.5. I love the series and it doesn't receive as much love as it ought to. However, second son doesn't quite live up to the outstanding experience that was the first two games. More karma and open world mission integration were needed, and the story was over and done faster than it needed to be. I love it, the only bad thing I can say is that I want more.

Love this game. The story kept my attention. Using the various powers to travel around Seattle did not feel like a chore. The fighting was rarely repetitive. Overall it is just a fun game to play and I am trying to finish the Evil Karma version to get the Platinum Trophy. I rarely do story modes twice but this was is still fun the second time around.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. There are many people saying that this game is a copy and paste game-play wise from the last generation. I have two problems with this. One, no it is not, Two, who cares if it was. Seriously, this game deserves more than a damn 0 or 1. The game-play was the same to some extent but the new button/touch pad and the motion controls shake it up a little. And if we gave games bad ratings because they were the same as the sequel, all sequels would be bad to us. Halo, Batman Arkham franchise, and many more. so people who say it is "exactly the same", piss off. now that i got that out of the way lets move on to my review. This game was amazing, particle effects, graphics, incorporation of new controls, the whole shebang. It kinda fell short story wise, giving characters less emotional pull, but i came here to be entertained, not emotional. And entertained i was. The game-play was smooth never dropping a frame when i played. As i said before the graphics and particle effects really show what the ps4 can handle at once. And the facial animations, MY GOD THE FACIAL ANIMATIONS. Beautiful. Never seen anything like it. other than that i thought i deserved a 10/10 but the story was kind of dull. so a 9 it is. Expand

I'll keep it short: Everything is perfect except the story isn't up to par with the first two (but it's still great), and the parkour isn't as solid as it was in the past (but this is remedied by incredible ability to fly around the city). 9/10.

There isn't too much to say about this game that hasn't already been said. The graphics are top notch and really show off the capabilities of the PS4. I can't in good conscience give it a 10/10 however because I feel like the AI was a little woeful for a next-gen game. Overall, wonderful though. I'm slowly making my way through each district and clearing out the government :)

The graphics are amazing but not only does this game look good it plays excellently. I never experienced a frame rate hiccup nor any graphics popping in and with the speed at which i was moving between rooftops around the city this is nothing to be taken lightly. The power effects also had me slack jawed every time I pushed circle i got excited to see everything that was going to happen. My personal favorite was the neon power where there was a trail behind you as you were sprinting.

I enjoyed the story although it left a bit to be desired and was extremely predictable there was only one scene that caught me off guard that i will not spoil here but the rest of the ending i saw coming from a mile away.

This being the second ps4 exclusive (killzone being #1), and arguably the first game some may consider buying the console for, I waited to review this one until I beat the game and had some time to reflect.

I usually feel let down by sandbox adventure games. aside from GTA, which set the precedent that base my opinions off of, most of them sound great in theory and have you daydreaming about the possibilities for awesomeness, and don't really deliver. Infamous actually surpassed my expectations, and really turned out to be a gem.

combat: this is what really shines. the powers are SO MUCH FUN. when you can find a game with combat so good, you go out of your way to look for non-progress related encounters just to experience the gameplay, you know you've got something special. the four different powers are each unique, and feel like their own skillset. i dont see the exact same skills with different colored spell effects, i see four entirely different skill trees, each bringing their own strengths to the table. each tier has its own method of travel, active skills, and passives. they use this as a sell point to the game, and rightfully so, the powers are damn cool.

story: involves your typical stuff; hero, villian, conflict, tragedy. the characters are voiced over nicely and you can connect with some of them, which will help keep you absorbed in the plot. i won't spoil anything, but it's a good time.

graphics: i dont normally list graphics as a bullet point in my reviews, as i would play a 2d side scroller if the game was good, but infamous: second son requires recognition for its beauty. i can confidently tell you, this is the nicest looking game i have ever played. ever. ever ever ever. the game takes place in a scale model of seattle, and the scenery is literally immaculate. coming from ps3 and 360, i was in the mindset of "how much better could it really get?". the first couple of launch games are all ports, and even killzone as nice as it looks, was only marginally better than what we already had. this is that first one that will blow your mind, the one you want to have in the disc tray when showing off your new system. spell effects, character models, and the world in general look superb.

cons: my only complaint is the length of the game. i picked this up the tuesday it released, and beat it on saturday of that week. i made it a point to take my time also. between the gorgeous graphics, the phenomenal gameplay, and the above average story line, i just wish it would have lasted longer. the good news is, our new main character cole left us off with plenty of questions to be answered; i think we will see him again for a sequel.

all in all, great game. whether you are an 8 year old girl or a 75 year old man, you're going to have a good time with this one. if you are debating on grabbing a ps4, go ahead and pick it up, because we have reached the point where next-gen is in in full swing. a legit catalog of titles are now available (including several exclusives- digital download and retail), there are quite a few blockbuster AAA titles on the immediate horizon, and the next-gen only titles have started to release. just make sure that you pick up infamous: second son to go along with your shiny, new console. it's worth buying the system for.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Second Son, truthfully probably deserves a 10. However it falls short of this because of one thing. The evil campaign, now hear me out here. Simply put the evil campaign just isn't what I and what I hope others were looking for in the sense there is no moral sympathy of an evil character in this game. Unlike Cole when playing as evil it was more of a twisted sense of justice rather then some weird evil of killing street performers for whatever reason. Additionally being evil doesn't really change the story much as spoiler your brother continues to aid you the entire time which feels weird. In the end playing the evil route just made me feel like some whiny baby rather than an anti-hero that I felt while playing as Cole in the previous inFamous games. Graphics, combat, and overall gameplay are great; so are the whitty lines and the good campaign which was rather impressive I think. So if you own a PS4 buy this game it'll be money worth spending. The game delivers perfect performance and stunning graphics, very detailed city. Game balance and AI are perfect. I played on hard and it was very funny meanwlile a bit challenging. AI isn't perfect, but not bad actually.

Delsin is very nice hero, other characters either. Broken destinies of super-people such as Fetch, Gamer, Smoke-Guy.

The gameplay is very funny, but there were not so much tips and hits as i'd loved to. Sometimes actually gameplay seems too monotonous. In the whole amount of superpowers they all give almost the same effect with minimal changes in gameplay and practical advantages between each other. I mean I loved that plenty of powers but, you know, the whole game I could complete with only smoke or neon, or video powers.

    It a little disappointed me.

Game isn't 10 only because gameplay sometimes is very monotonous and I wish I could have a little bit more tricks, combos and tactics using different powers.

The graphics of inFAMOUS Second Son are the best graphics of all of console history. Combine that with a mostly solid 60 frames per second and you will get a game that will be very pleasing to the human eye.

Now, on to the gameplay. Even though the story is pretty short, it kept me intrigued through the whole game. It was not too serious of a story like the last two inFAMOUS games, which I kinda liked since it was set in a modern city in which the civilians in it weren't too drastically in danger than the other games. The character development was also very well done with each different character in the game feeling widely different in terms of skill and personality. The combat in Second Son is the best I have seen in a video game. It is just so fast paced and smooth, and if you can master a power good enough, you can see yourself wiping away through enemies with a grin on your face. All 4 powers in the game varies very differently, changing up your combat procedures frequently. Was using smoke to take out a bunch of enemies but ran out of juice? Drain some neon and take a more tactical and slow approach to wipe out your enemies. The karma system in the game did not offer as much as I expected it too in terms of power, but the story did change a lot from good to evil.

When you beat the rather short but very fun story in Second Son, you are left with the open world of Seattle to roam around and finish all the side quests. The side quests of the game are very repetitive and aren't actually quests, but rather small mini games like finding the hidden enemy in a crowd of civilians or spray painting a good/evil image on a wall. These can be done fast and when the whole open world is completed of objectives, you don't really have anything to do, sadly. There is the free "Paper Trail" DLC that allows you to do some really cool detective work on a computer and hunt down the criminals in game, which I found very hard (a good thing) but a cool idea at its own pace.

This game is one of the most enjoyable of next-gen so far and all PlayStation 4 owners must own the game! I give this game a 9/10.

Fun gameplay, beautiful visuals and animation, good actors play, decent story. Only the open world is kinda meh, but anyway this game is one from my pretty short list of games which I've fully completed.

first of. delsin is a **** badass. second. a bit of a negative review on 2 things. voice acting of delsin which is kinda feels lifeless and uninspired. and another problem in the game is the fact you couldn't cover. but the AI is so **** anooying sometimes and smart. that you don't need the cover system

This was a phenomenal game that every PS4 owner must purchase. There are a lot of different powers, good character chemistry, and a fun campaign that makes this game so awesome. The only reason I give this game a 9 is because of plot and morality issues here and there.

The game is brilliant. Graphics are great, gameplay is great and the story is pretty good. Gameplay is really fun. Its a nice break from traditional generic FPS game, although I do like those. My only gripe was that it wasn't long enough. I could just keep playing and playing and playing. It may have been 10 times longer than say a CoD campaign, but it was so good that I just wanted more.

First things first, this game is a blast. It's simply fun in a way that reminds me of how the simplest games twenty-five years ago could lock me in for hours at a time and how death never felt disappointing.

The story, however, isn't fleshed out. It's hard for me to ignore that it feels like they were working with a good story that just didn't get implemented perfectly into the core

The story, however, isn't fleshed out. It's hard for me to ignore that it feels like they were working with a good story that just didn't get implemented perfectly into the core gameplay.

For what it's worth though, that's pretty much what the first two InFamous games were like. They were both fun, graphically spectacular, but the story was serviceable at best. This is no RPG. It's an action game and the story is a relative weakness, if not a moot point throughout much of the experience. It's a way to have some kind of purpose, however unreasonable or illogical, to get you from action A to action B.

It's the action that locks me in to all of the inFamous games and this one blew me away. The bigger the action, the better the graphics generally have to be. Second Sun shines on the PS4. It's gorgeous. The weather and particle effects show off the power of the PS4 in a way none of my other games do. Often it runs above 30FPS, making climing and exploring the city dolphin smooth.

I was hesitant to buy the game until it was on sale for $20. Now I'd pay full price for it. The inFamous series has always felt like one of the most under-exposed game franchises ever. I don't know but one person who has played any of them. If you enjoyed any of the other inFamous games, Second Son is a no brainer. It's a must-have for anyone who enjoyed the other games enough to complete them. It's intuitive, glitch-free (for me, absolutely), beautiful, exciting, and best of all, fun.

This game is excellent. I waited until it came out to grab a Ps4 and it certainly didn't disappoint. The only reason that it's a 9 is the story wasn't as good as the original InFamous and the amount of blast shards and audio logs was rather small. However the game as a whole is loads of fun with replayability to play as both good and bad.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Pure awesomeness this game manages to significantly change the Infamous formula and not for the bad. The upgrade to next gen has truly showed with the most realistic looking cut scenes known in video games, but the game relies less on cartoon style cut scenes but don't worry they are still there. The game is far more fast paced than its predecessors, and the cover system is no longer implemented and now is replaced with a dashing system which makes Delsin fly to roof tops to recover health, but the majority of enemies have powers of their own, and they will follow you. In this game there is 4 different powers smoke, neon, Video and Concrete all having their own specialised characteristics depending on your alignment, so a good character with neon could focus and slow down time and aim for weak spots to subdue them, or with evil alignment have increased speed and conjure up a deadly stasis bubble. Instead of Ionic powers in infamous 2 you have karmic streaks that are similar but are used differently and there is a different 1 for each power, they are area of effect and take out pretty much all enemies and are earned by gaining karma in small bits. There is now 5 karma levels on each side and are easier to go though. Infamous second son is a must buy for around $50 Expand

It really finds the delicate balance, so that the protagonist is powerful but not invincible. Side missions are well designed but lack variety. But they come with the right amount. The best part is, that I never felt like I wasn't having fun, and that's the most important part of any game in my personal opinion. Also, the game does give you all these great powers, but it is still challenging. You feel like you can take on anything, but still know that you can die if you get too reckless. Like I said before, I feel like the only problem with the game is the short story. Also, the Infamous series still has the problem of not giving better story paths based on your good or evil intentions. The story is good, maybe dull or lacking in small areas. The side missions in this game are not as fun as the ones in the older games. Also your main character can seem cliché, but all of the characters still feel real. They did an excellent job on the characters. The powers, maybe not. I won't reveal too much but the powers are strange. I found that only 1 of the 4 I ever liked. So how do I still give this game a 9 even though I have listed many cons. Because those cons are minisquelle, compared to the great and enjoyable content of this game. You have to play it. It is one of those games that you won't be satisfied with until you beat it more than once and complete every side mission and collectible at least once. The graphics are amazingly beautiful and has a unique style. Something about the textures and face that confuse you whether it is a movie or a game. Very few games even attempt this effect nowadays. Great game, great story and refreshing for it's brevity in an age of 100+ hour time sinks. Just before the district tasks start to get repetitive, a major story event shows up to break the monotony. Some of the boss fights can be slightly frustrating due to the games stun/slow cam mechanics, but on Normal difficulty the challenge level seemed just right.

Everything about Infamous: Second Son just screams cool - from the urban alt-punk Seattle aesthetic, to the badass Native American protagonist Delsin Rowe. Whether you decide to take Delsin down the path to becoming a True Hero or pave the streets with chaos and blood as you become Infamous, it’s going to be a hell of a ride.

I cannot give this game enough praise. Second Son takes everything that was great about the franchise thus far and bumps it up a notch, from visuals, to narrative, to characterization. Tight controls give you easy access to all of Delsin’s abilities, and, man, he has a lot of them. There are plenty of PS4 performance gimmicks abound – it’s easy to tell this was in the early days of the console’s lifecycle. Interactions with the environment like opening doors require swiping across the touchpad but it works surprisingly well.

Picking up a few years after Cole’s exploits in the first two games, you play as conduit Delsin Rowe during a government takeover over Seattle. Moving from one story mission to the next is much the same as it was in previous titles, but while parkouring to your next destination there is plenty going on the streets of Seattle to distract you, mainly the DUP (Department of Unified Protection) who is oppressing the people of Seattle and your fellow conduits. Each “zone” of Seattle is under their control and by disrupting their activities you can push them out of sections of the city, which allow you more freedom of movement and the establishment of fast travel points.

All of these actions, depending on how they are executed, will affect your Karma and help you progress down the path of good or evil. The Karma system even affects your powers and facilitates your progress down either of those roads by granting Delsin abilities that will either pacify or obliterate your opponents.
The cast of characters is varied, but a bit cliché. The other conduits you recruit along the way do not get fleshed out as much as I would like, but it’s a great moment in the game when you see them all coming together to fight the powers that be.

Infamous Second Son is just a great game, and among my top PS4 picks. Good and Evil paths and higher difficulties give you plenty of reasons to come back, as well as the always present lure of more trophies. If you were like me and still hadn’t picked up this PS4 exclusive, gogogogogogo.

    Pros:
---Delsin Rowe is awash with personality
    ---Gameplay is tight
---Visuals are stunning for an early game on the hardware
    Cons:
--- Could have used more story related missions

There are very few minor faults in the game. But if there are any clear ones, functionally speaking the movement mechanics (especially climbing buildings) are a bit suspect. The powers in either path could have been more diverse and distinguishable from each other. Main story was also a bit short for my liking. That's about it though.

I wasn't familiar with the series prior to this game and I found it very easy to understand and get into.

The game is extremely fun, and the combat mechanics are interesting and different from most games-- there isn't a lot of melee fighting and most skills are at range. The way the abilities are managed is fantastic, and exploring your new skills and receiving them is ridiculously addicting. Using them is pretty amazing too-- they feel intuitive and natural, even though it takes some getting used to.

The story is not the strongest, and the over-used Troy Baker is voicing yet another lead, but it is heartfelt and interesting and I can't really fault it. It is solid. The characters are likeable, even the lead, who can be annoying at times. The graphics are beautiful, with Seattle coming across even better than it really does. The content isn't huge, it will keep you immersed for a good week most probably (if you do side quests and such) but you could probably rush it in a few days.

I really enjoyed this game, and I missed leaving the inFAMOUS world when I was done. I wish they'd release some DLC or another stand-alone pack (there is one, but it somehow was less fun for me), perhaps from the point of view of another character, or even if the main from this game came back, that'd be awesome.

This is no exception when it comes to Sucker Punch's latest title: "InFAMOUS: Second Son". Taking place 7 years after the events of "InFAMOUS 2's" Good Ending, "InFAMOUS: Second Son" introduces Delsin Rowe. A small town delinquent turned super powered bad ass after a freak incident activates his Conduit gene allowing him to copy other Conduits powers. The gameplay of "InFAMOUS: Second Son" is just as satisfying (and explosive) of the past two entries. Introducing 4 brand new powers smoke, neon, video, and concrete, "InFAMOUS: Second Son" allows players to have fun and experiment with all 4 powers, although they could be a bit more varied. Personally i could sit down for hours just exploring the city of Seattle and fighting off the D.U.P to liberate each district , slowly but surely loosing their clutch. Which brings me into the story of this game. To put it blunt, it could be better. Its not bad, not in the slightest. But it could be a little longer and more interesting. Maybe its just about how "InFAMOUS 2" had such a high staked and emotional story that kinda gave a sense of disappointment for some players when it comes to the story of "InFAMOUS: Second Son". Overall, "InFAMOUS: Second Son" is a fantastic game that every PS4 owner should have and leaves (most) fans excited for the next installment of "InFAMOUS". Expand

It was just fun racing through the city, or flying above. And dropping down into fights to use all the new abilities you had obtained. This game was the prime for the series for combat. And, although it doesn't look like we'll get another one... this game strongly deserves another in the series! Expand

I thoroughly enjoyed this game, it's short, but I definitely recommend checking this game out, especially if you are a fan of superhero games.

InFamous Second Son is a very fun game, it has an amazing combat system and great levels with an engaging fun story. The levels always take place in the awesome looking open world and it’s very easy to get lost of how amazing the open world is. The enemies and bosses you encounter are excellent, however the game can get repetitive with some aspects and the skill tree is very messy. The levels always take place in the awesome looking open world and it’s very easy to get lost of how amazing the open world is. The enemies and bosses you encounter are excellent, however the game can get repetitive with some aspects and the skill tree is very messy. But these are the only complaints, the game it self is very engaging and unique. Especially the good and evil karma mechanic it’s done very well in the story and gameplay which is genius. The combat is very well made to, you have a variety of powers to use and you get new ones as you go in the story. Speaking of the story it’s very fun it’s not complex it’s just a superhero movie it’s awesome, and the soundtrack supports both the gameplay and story truly an amazing score. InFamous Second Son is a really unique game, it has so much to it from story to gameplay, the game always gives you a lot of ways to explore and battle your way through enemies and bosses, I just wish if they made the skill tree a bit more fixing, overall a really damn impressive game. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Great and semi-believable characters, really fun game play. It has some good moments, some moments that actually made me sad. My main problem with this game is how it gives you the option of killing civilians yet the protagonist has no interest in killing them. Some things don't make any sense. Expand

Ação suave e amanteigada, roteiro escrito, escolhas descentes a serem feitas, belos gráficos, cidade vibrante. Esse jogo oferece muita diversão com mecânica de combate, mas uma formula repetitiva.

I genuinely had so much fun with this game with all the different unique powers that 7 years later I can still remember how much fun I had with this game. I loved the story even though it wasn't really anything special but the superb voice acting really elevates it.

Graphics: Awesome. The neon lights, the city. The reason I got PS4 was for this visuals.
Story: It isn't like an rpg game where you have diverse options but yeah you can be evil or good. Being evil is fun in a way. The story isn't that great to be honest and some side missions are a bit repetitive.

Powers galore! its so dope how Delson equips his powers. the combat is so entertaining to use and very distinctive from each other plus they come with their own SUPER finisher move thingy. the story is lengthy and world is very detailed and feels lived in and overran by the D.U.Ps. boss fights are unique as hell and a bunch of side activities to do. PS4 seller for sure.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I loved this game. The graphics, the super powers, and the story are just tops. Stop reading this review and go play it (and First Light) right now.

Why I gave it 9/10 despite the above:

    1. I wish there was more to do after the last boss (if you haven't already cleared all the districts like I did);

    2. I think the difficulty spikes too much for certain bossed; and

    3. You get the fourth elemental power really late in the game ... like at the last boss.

    REAL SPOILERS BEGIN:

Like it's predecessors, inFamous and inFamous 2, this is a game where you're dropped in a sandbox (or open world if you prefer) and have super powers to level up and bad guys to kill. You have to uncover the plot of some unscrupulous super villain.

The characters are done well here too. Like Kessler, Augustine is of the mind that the ends justify the means and it works perfectly. Reggie is always protecting his brother, and I was sad when Reggie died even though I already knew he would. Fetch and Eugene even get mini-arcs of their own. It's great. Delsin's maturing throughout the game doesn't feel forced, but rather a natural response to his circumstances.

As you go there are technically two enemy factions - the DUP and some drug dealers. I suppose there are also the police if you play on "evil karma", but I only did the good karma path. The drug dealers don't have much personality, but the DUP and their conduits are really good antagonists.

I love that each encounter in this open world - aside from some story missions - can be done anyway you want. Lots of bad guys? Maybe just start from on top of a building and slam down. Or take out the cameras first.... or switch powers because maybe video is better here than smoke or neon.

An improvement from inFamous and inFamous 2 is travelling and traversal. You can basically fly in this game if you level up and time your jumps. It makes getting around town - or running from enemies - really easy.

The powers are also cool - you have 4 to choose from, smoke, neon, video and concrete. Each is unique and better for different things. I preferred neon to the rest, but that's just a preference. They all feel balanced.

The only complaints I have are more like nitpicks:

    1. I have the habit of clearing out all available side missions and districts BEFORE taking on story missions. So when I got video - there was only like 5 missions to go. I didn't get to use concrete at all outside of the last mission because the game was done when I defeated Augustine.

So I wish there was more to do for someone like me. I did download First Light and that has more of an end-game in the arena challenges, so I scratched that itch, just not with the main game.

    2. I didn't like being given concrete at the last boss and then having to master it on the fly. Last bosses should be the culmination of everything you learned, not just some new mechanic introduced that needs to be mastered immediately. I played the whole game on normal, but lowered the difficulty to easy for the last boss because of this weird difficulty spike.

    3. Further to #1 I didn't get to use concrete much because I literally got it at the end of the game - because of the way I play.

But those are blips in what was otherwise I really fun experience.

It makes me wonder why developers don't make more games like this one. It's 10-20 hours of quality, replayable with different karma/powers and feels complete.

Ah... back when games weren't just grind fests trying to suck money out of your wallet.... Seriously in 2021 it's a breath of fresh air to finally play this and First Light (the DLC).

Haven't tried this game yet? Like super powers? Like open-world?

Buy this game and enjoy. :)

Falta alguna misión secundaria con un poco más de peso, con algo de historia. Una pena que uno de los poderes más molones lo consigas tan tarde. Si no fuera por estas 2 cosas, le daría un 9.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So the Infamous series for those unfamiliar, is a series of games revolving around a population of powerful people called "Bio-terrorists". And in the game Infamous second son, we play Delsin, a funny boy with a penchant for rebellion who one day discovers he can take the powers of those bio-terrorists. And you will have to choose whether you use the same powers for good or bad purposes. I will not do spoilers for the plot, because I will let you experience it for yourselves. The gameplay is very fun, the switching between powers is almost instantaneous, and it's very fun to travel the world with your powers everywhere. The world of Infamous second son is simply spectacular, everywhere in the world you will find illuminated signs in restaurants, chimneys, electronics stores and many other things that you can use to fill your power meter. In addition, you can do a lot of things in the world, such as finding DUP skimmers (which are an organization that tries to capture bio-terrorists), destroying DUP areas and freeing the citizens imprisoned there, and more. And on the PlayStation 5 the game can reach 4K resolution at 60 frames per second or 1080p resolution at 120 frames per second, which is just amazing.
In conclusion, Infamous second son is an amazingly simple game, Sucker Punch managed to perfectly show the incredible leap between the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4, and on the way give us one of the best games for the PlayStation 4.
